Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Inflation hits everybody. My guess their usual donors cut down or eliminated gifting at this point.

Yes, the Rods need more from people who have less to give, but I do think Jill's Plexus empire has bit her in the butt a bit. Jill has been really showing herself as rolling in the dough thanks to the scam, so why does she need all of these ministry donors? If I try to put myself in the shoes of Jill's likeminded marks, I would be willing to pitch in to make sure the Rodlets had some food, shoes and a roof over their heads, but to buy Jill another sweatblouse to go roaming around Sin City? Nope!

Agree.

One thing to pay $8 with shipping for Renee's earrings. Entirely different for a $55 dress Jill wore to her son's graduation or an outfit that comes without the modesty shirt and with earrings someone has already worn.

And I doubt any of the clothes she’s selling have even been cleaned, including that dress 🤮

Why is she selling the silver dress? She was smiling and posing like a cat that ate a canary. Even posted making out during the ceremony. I figured she'd keep it forever.

She’s outgrown it?

I think she is finding the dress, shoes, jewelry or putting the skirts/blouses together from Goodwill finds and then reselling them.  She believes she has a good eye for fashion, especially modest pieces.  Cracks me up that she is selling them as modest but most of them don't include the modest item.

I remember when Phillp wore that way too big belt.  I felt sorry for him.

But we can all find those same items at our local goodwills for far less 🤷‍♀️. Makes very little sense!

When you have a big gaping hole in your soul that you fill with buying things, its not about keeping the things, its about getting them.   Then you find out they didn't fix anything, so you move on.   That dress although it made her feel special that day, she didn't feel that way the next day.   So the dress has to go for not being the "perfect" item that fied everything for Jill.   Nothing ever will, so she will always be buying and then dumping things.

The funny thing is, for a l ot of people finding out what fills that gaping hole is spiritual.   But because Jill is performatively religious rather than spiritual that doesn't work either.   Hence all the "look how dogly me and my family are, we are so much more dogly than every one else and so super special."

Yes, I have heard it called. “ That God shaped hole.”

I think that Jill really believes that she is a greatly admired celebrity in Fundie World and that her fans will gladly pay extra for a dress that she has owned and that they'll proudly wear it and show it off to their friends.

Jill’s Facebook page says its purpose is to be a light for Je**s.   It seems to actually be to direct traffic to her etsy page and to sell Plexus.    There’s a Bible verse that comes to mind about that - money changers in the temple?

Sofia has a new fun fact "she is small and petite" while endlessly trying to pull up her bloomers or tights. Janessa pinches Sofia's arm at least once.

Huh, I thought the part about Philip would've been the most disturbing part from your video recap - turns out it was the part about Sophia being trained to say that she is "small and petite" (as opposed to sickly and underfed) and having to endure being pinched by Jill's favorite baby with no consequences, I'm guessing.

Heck no - especially if any of them are "dry-clean only."  Jill's not paying for that.  So those who do buy will enjoy the added bonuses of BO, Aquanet and Dollar Tree body sprays.  Oh and a hair scrunchie, probably with hair still attached.

What's Jill's return policy? I hope she finds out she needs one.

But Jill thinks she has "an eye" to pull modest pieces together to make a beautiful outfit.  She'll shop and put it all together and then sell it (with or without the modest part) to you.  *smile*

My theory is that she has already been seen in it on social media, so she doesn't want to wear it again.  That is how a lot of "influencers" are.  🙄

Most things are marked "no returns"

Apparently Etsy really doesn't care about their policies because the shop is still up despite numerous reports.

Makes me not want to trust them for anything.

Of course no returns!

Me, too. I have bought a couple items there over the years, but I probably won’t consider using Etsy again now.

Dave also talked and tells they have a new programmable cutter that cuts the smiley tracts and some other new piece of equipment he doesn't name. That maybe they had last time they were there or maybe not, he is not sure.

He talks about the RV going down hill and praying what to do about that. Also prayers for the size of their ministry and the help that they need.

So he got some new fangled equipment for the print shop but needs prayers for the size of their ministry.   I got an idea, how about Dave stop watching the map and hustle up some jobs that would use the new fangled equipment.   That way he could support his family without having to ask for hand outs.

P.S.   Tablets are not the expensive.  If Jill spent less on "home decor", she could afford a new one in no time.

Ugh! That hair! Is that bedhead hair?

Considering that Jill seems to be awake at all hours, her time in bed is short and spent with the Hunk. However, bedhead hair was a popular '90s style, and we know Jill still lives in that decade, so she may be going for that look.

Whatever she's doing, and it probably involves cheap extensions, the mop is growing by the photo.

Just curious, wouldn't Jill consider modeling a heathen profession?  Because she's sure got her girls doing their very best walk forward/smile for the camera/hand on hip/turn around catwalk thing.

I suppose she justifies it because they are modeling such modest clothes and the money is going into Jill's pocket for a good cause.

More like the 1980s, the decade that taste forgot.

Her modeling was funny.  She would look at the camera with her head angled down and look up with her eyes, trying to look coy, I guess.  Didn't really work for me. She even flipped her hair before she turned around and saw the mess back there.  She was really working it.

That sequined top she's wearing is very thin. I can see the waistband of the skirt.

I'm praying that there is a cotton t-shirt blouse under that top; otherwise, I have no choice but to be seriously defrauded.

In the back photo, is a loose thread sticking out on the left sleeve? I hope not, at her prices.

I bet she did that thing where you bend from the waist and shake out your hair, then flip it up.  She's gotta get her sexy on, she's competing with all of her daughters for "The Most Prettiest and Most Best Model."  She's probably already printed out the winning certificate on Microsoft Word with her name on it.

Wasn’t she a HAIRDRESSER at one time?!! Did she never learn to look at the back of her head in a mirror? Her hair is as abysmal as her taste in clothing and “decor”.

And, to think, she sleeps next to David!

I can't believe she'd post that photo with that rat's nest hair.

The hair is a surprising miss on her part. She's so vain and liberal with the  photoshop. Her posting that was more shocking to me than edited in Phillip.

Especially given that GRAPHIC DESIGN IS HER PASSION!!!!
