topanga December 23, 2015 Share December 23, 2015 50 Shades of Black looks funny. A little crude for my taste, so I'm not sure I'll see it, but the Wayans brothers are great at parodies. Link to comment

methodwriter85 December 24, 2015 Share December 24, 2015 (edited) The guys in "Everybody Wants Some" looks like they should all be in some early 80's gay porno. Not that I'm complaining. I thought they could've done a better job with making the girls look early 80's, though. The hair is too long and straight for that time period. Or if they wanted to do a bare minimum, they could have done those little braid things on either side that girls seemed do in the early 80's. Chas411 January 3, 2016 Share January 3, 2016 Hopefully they recast his son with somebody that isn't basically hated by Hollywood. As much as I loved his role in the fourth movie, I think LaBeouf has burned all his bridges with Spielberg at this point. I hope they don't recast though. I'd rather they just create a new character. Chas411 January 3, 2016 Share January 3, 2016 I don't mean add another son as thats as lazy as recasting. Just create a new character. It could be anyone, a son of another character or just a brand new standalone character. Link to comment
SeanC January 3, 2016 Share January 3, 2016 I've been to see a bunch of movies lately (multiple trips to the theatre, in the case of Star Wars), and based on my surveying of audience reaction, the biggest impending hits are: - Zootopia: Everybody goes wild for the sloth scene, every time. Quite a turnaround, since the teaser made this look utterly boring. - Central Intelligence: This one has only shown up in theatres showing what I assume marketers tagged as "black movies" (Creed & Concussion) -- even though I'm in Charlottetown, and the audience for both is white as Wonderbread -- but it's brought the house down both times. I saw both of these trailers before TFA as well and the audience in mine was split in their reactions. The sloth scene in "Zootopia" had the audience (which was mostly adult) laughing for what seemed like a full 30 seconds after the trailer ended so I definitely see that movie doing well with all age groups. On the other hand, while the "Central Intelligence" trailer had winning moments (e.g. The Rock shaking it in a fat suit), the reaction was pretty subdued/indifferent for the rest of it. The one trailer reaction that really surprised me was the lack of enthusiasm for "Captain America: Civil War" which, considering Marvel Studios' string of box office hits, really made me wonder if it will end up under-performing. VCRTracking January 4, 2016 Share January 4, 2016 Mainstream reaction to the Captain America Civil War trailer in the theater was definitely different from the fan reactions online. Comic book fans or die-hard MCU fans know it's based on a story from the comic and why they're fighting, plus are more emotionally invested in characters like Bucky than the average moviegoer. Plus, the trailer doesn't have a lot of laughs that a Marvel movie is usually known for. Link to comment

methodwriter85 January 5, 2016 Share January 5, 2016 (edited) They had me at Tyler Hoechlin in short shorts and tube socks. I like that they're actually willing to dress these guys in that, because I've seen a lot of period films set in the late 70's/early 80's that refuse to put their guys in stuff like that and instead opt for something like the Last Days of Disco 1980 preppy aesthetic. BookWoman56 January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 Southern Unionism is an underexplored part of the cinematic history of the Civil War. This one is going to be a bit weird for me, as I am related to Newt Knight (obviously several generations apart and not a direct descendant). The prospect is amusing in some ways because growing up in MS, my grandparents and great-grandparents were of the opinion that we should not mention being related to him, because of the shame!!! I'm glad it looks to be done well, because it's a fascinating story. 2 Link to comment
