I have the Evil Queen song stuck in my head.  Please help.

Zelena's song is still stuck in my head (which I love), but I'm afraid your fate is worse than death.

Have you tried listening to Revenge is Gonna be Mine at least 5 times in a row? That might help. You might also have to sing it and watch the video a few times in order to get that song out of your head.

I was reading a political science article that had absolutely nothing to do with OUAT. There was a section on mob rule. The picture they used for it was King George's angry mob in 2A! Lol! I had to stare and say, "Hey... what's a minute... is that? Oh my gosh it is!" None of the other pictures were from TV shows, they were all real.

How odd and random!

It's supposed to be 120 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday. 48 Celsius I think. I believe official temperatures are taken in the shade. How hot will it be in the parking lot at work?

Will my sneakers stick to the blacktop?

How hot will the inside of my car be after sitting in the sun all day at work? Will my leather interior survive.

i don't think I recall it being that hot here before!

OMG! That sounds HORRIBLE! Our AC has been on the fritz at work this week (apparently it's a $30,000 fix and the building owners are dragging their feet about fixing it) and it's been in the high 80s. I can't even imagine 120!!!

Well, the ac at work is real good and my home ac was just checked so hopefully I'm good. It's my 13 year old Jag I'm a bit worried about, the brits don't design them with these temps in mind. :)

Just finished Haven, loved it, though my ship didn't become canon. Now I need a new show. Any suggestions? Only interested in complete series available on Netflix or Amazon Prime. I don't need more shows for the fall.

Have you seen Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries? It's complete and absolutely delightful.

I second this! Currently bingeing the series. "Delightful" is exactly how I'd describe it. Plus I covet her wardrobe like crazy.

I also heartily recommend The Musketeers -- only three seasons with 10 eps each, and it had a satisfying finale. Hot men swordfighting, strong women and costume porn.

I binge-watched all 10 eps of "The Handmaid's Tale" this week. It wrecked me. So good, but so upsetting. Far more upsetting than when I read the book in college. Then it didn't seem like a possibility. Now, it terrifyingly does. Elisabeth Moss deserves all the awards for it! All the female cast was excellent.

Just saw ABC is ordering a live-action "The Jetsons" pilot. They're really reaching, aren't they?

LOL! Wow.

Is anybody in the path of totality for Monday's solar eclipse? I'm a couple hours away, so I'm going to try to drive to see it. Though officials are preaching doom and gloom about the traffic situation, so I may spend the eclipse stuck on an interstate.

I'm in the path. Where I live, officials have been predicting that a trip that would normally take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours will now take 10 1/2 hours so I won't be going anywhere on Monday.

I've mentioned the "Hookalike" in my choir -- the guy who's basically a clone of Colin, only probably a few years younger, a few inches taller, and a baritone instead of a tenor. And born American, though his family is from Ireland. Well, tonight at rehearsal, he had a foot in a walking boot and looked almost exactly like the footage of some of Colin's summer convention appearances, including the way he was dressed. It's getting eerie.

Hi. I'm Hotchgirl18 and I'm a Criminal Minds fan My boyfriend's getting me into this show. I'm starting with the first season. I love it. So dark and intense. And a lot of twists. My favorite character is Regina\The Evil Queen. I haven't gotten to it yet, but I know all the songs from the musical episode. I love them. I am a pianist and vocalist.

And all magic comes with a price!

I haven't been paying any attention, but are there any new fantasy/sci-fi serialized drama premiering this fall which are appealing and could replace "Once" now that the show is essentially done?  What new shows are you all trying?

None of the new sci-fi/fantasy shows look appealing to me, expect Star Trek: Discovery which premieres tonight. I'm looking forward to season 2 of The Exorcist and Stranger Things. I was really looking forward to The Alienist (not sci-fi), but it got pushed back to next year.

I've got nothing besides Stranger Things on my radar. I won't pay for CBS subscription so I guess no Star Trek for me.  Timeless next summer I guess.

There's The Gifted, in the X-Men universe.

I don't think I plan to pick up anything new, though I could change my mind. I might give The Gifted and Young Sheldon a try, might not. I watch This Is Us, Fresh Off the Boat, Designated Survivor, Big Bang Theory, Survivor, The Amazing Race, Project Runway and generally what's on Masterpiece. I'm super-excited that Poldark is starting back on Masterpiece next Sunday. Oh, and Man in the High Castle on Amazon.

I was looking through a fall preview list, and I realized that there's nothing new I even want to try to start watching, and I've lost interest in some things I was watching. I'll probably stick with Legends of Tomorrow. I liked Lethal Weapon last season at first, but then got kind of tired of it, so I'm not sure I'm going to bother this season. I forgot what the NCIS cliffhanger even was, so I may give myself permission to drop it. I love Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, mostly for the music, and it's going to be opposite OUAT, but that one gets DVRd for later because it's basically a half-hour show in an hour slot, so the commercials get ridiculous. And then there's whatever's on Masterpiece and the slot before Masterpiece (like Call the Midwife in the spring -- and yay, it won't be opposite OUAT anymore). Oh, and Elementary, but I usually watch that on demand on Sunday afternoons so I keep forgetting about it as a show. I'll have to look at SyFy's schedule to see if there's anything in the fall I want to watch. Otherwise, it's The Magicians during the winter/spring season. I did watch The Expanse, but while I recognized that it was high quality, I realized I was watching out of obligation and wasn't enjoying it and didn't care about it, so I let myself turn it off mid-episode.

I may have to break down and get Amazon prime just for the video access (with free shipping as a bonus). I liked the book The Man in the High Castle and have been curious about the series, and now they're shooting Good Omens for Amazon.

I watch a lot of non-fiction programming on Smithsonian and American Heroes Channel (they do a lot of WWII documentaries, and that's an era that's always fascinated me).

AHC has been running an ad for some show that always sounds to me like they're talking about Once. "They promised them hope, but they gave them hell."

The only new shows I've tried out this season are The Good Doctor and SEAL Team, and that's only for the Bates Motel actors.... Quality new shows come few and far between these days. That's partly why I've been fine with the revivals because I'd rather they bring back old shows I actually liked than peddle new crap nobody wants. I've really been turning to overseas output for entertainment the past few years (Call the Midwife, A Place to Call Home, Miss Fisher, Please Like Me, etc.).

It struck me while watching Poldark last night that George and Ross are essentially Regina and Snow. George is wealthy, has power, and lives in a mansion, and yet he sees himself as an underdog. He's fixated on competing with and comparing himself to Ross, who he sees as easily getting everything he wants. Never mind that Ross lives in a glorified hovel, has no money, and does hard, physical labor from dawn to dusk. No matter what George has or gets, he can't be truly happy as long as Ross is even moderately content, and he devotes great time and effort to bringing Ross down through any means necessary -- and then he complains that he isn't as well-liked as Ross.

I haven't read the books or watched the 70s version, so I don't know how it's going to work out. I hope we're building toward an eventual massive downfall for George, though we may have to wait for the very end. At least the series doesn't sell itself as being about hope. It's basically a soap opera about how nobly (and often shirtlessly) Ross suffers. I seriously doubt that George will abruptly stop trying to destroy Ross, with no real reason given but also without ever admitting that he was wrong, and that Ross and George will become friends without George ever apologizing, and then have the kind of friendship in which George makes a lot of snide, snarky remarks to and about Ross, to which Ross will smile indulgently and say something like, "Well, I was pretty insufferable," and then thank George because all his torment made him strong.

Good point. I was thinking recently about how George really is his own worst enemy.

Also reminds me of a podcast I listened to a while ago where one of the speakers was complaining about characters in TV shows forgiving each other for trying to kill them an episode ago. "--You tried to kill me!"

I thought I was done mourning Emma. JMo's posts this week are making me so ridiculously emotional. My son's going to ask me why I'm crying if I don't tamp it down. It's just so silly. Not sure I've ever been so attached to a character before.

I know. I too thought I was zen about it by now, but Jen's instagram posts have me all sad and nostalgic. It really does feel like mourning. Despite all the crappy storylines A&E put Emma through in recent seasons, my love for her character has survived. I still think JMo did the right thing by getting out, but the Show going on w/o her definitely makes it harder.

I have missed other TV characters in the past when a Show was done, but I tend to drop Shows if a favorite character dies/exits, and the writing is subpar. I stopped watching Downton Abbey when two of my favs died (of the actors' own volition) and I already found the writing getting progressively bad there as well. I kept watching LOST despite some favorite character deaths (Juliet), but I was also still engaged with the writing in the Show overall, and there were other favs... Killian is actually my favorite character in OUAT, but that's not enough to pull me back.

It's weird. Killian IS my favorite character but I'm emotionally connected with Emma in a way I'm not with him.

I'm sure it has to do with how I used the show and fandom to survive through the last years of my bad marriage.

I will watch season 7 and I am confident that Emma's happy ending will be maintained. I trust Colin.

Killian and Emma are my two favorite characters - but that's mainly because they really sidelined Snow.  S1-S2 it was Snow and Emma.  They should have continued to be badass together - and with Hook and Charming.  It's going to be really said to watch this weeks ep, I think, and know that we won't see Emma ever again.

I think I'm a lot less emotionally invested in the new format. My main enjoyment is curiosity, seeing how it all works out and what they're trying to do here. It's interesting seeing some of the actors take on what are essentially different roles. Oh, and there's the snark. I think I'm even going to like the new time slot because I like having some genre show on Fridays to mark the end of the work week. Then I can spend the weekend discussing, and maybe there's less to say come Monday, so I can get work done.

Watching some of my favorite Emma episodes today. the Pilot, Hat Trick, The Land Without Magic, Tallahassee.

I probably won't have time for more but I do want to watch a few more this weekend.

Manhattan, Straight on til Morning, Heart of the Truest believer, Lost Girl, Going Home, NYCS, Snow Drifts and No Place Like Home, Poor Unfortunate Soul, The Other Shoe.

I can't think of any more really good Emma eps that don't do damage to her character after that that I want to watch.

Well..I  am free..I  have no need to watch anymore. My babies are together, blissfully happy...and back in SB with no Regina to belittle Emma every chance she gets or Rumple to  betray them and abuse his wife.

Thank you to all the lovely pixies that have kept me sane, put up with my crackpot theories and indulged my rants at A&E and their utter stupidity.

I have loved every op to interact with you here. I have fan fic to help fill the gaping hole in my chest and all of your past kindnesses to fill my heart.

Big BIG hugs to all of you...and I  mean all..all ships.. .

Thank you

Awwww.

Now that I know CS are free and happy, I have no other emotional connection to the show. I have zero reason to visit this forum anymore, which makes me incredibly sad. This forum was often THE best thing about the show. Y'all are so witty and smart and fun to snark and spec with! I'm going to miss you all tremendously. I may pop in occasionally to this thread in hopes of seeing what's up.

Aww...you sure you don't want to hang around and continue bashing the show (like me?).

I'll still be here. I'll miss my favorite characters, and I don't like most of the new characters, but I still get a weird enjoyment out of the show, and I'll admit that I'm really intrigued by the twist that Rogers isn't our Hook. That opens up a lot of possibilities. Not that it'll live up to its potential, but there is potential.

There's also the fact that they can't ruin Emma and Hook any further. While chances are that Wish!Hook and Real!Hook have the same backstory up to the curse, it's not absolutely certain, so we can shrug off the inevitable "Hook did something awful in the past" episode as being irrelevant and about Wish!Hook.

This also clears the way for a lot of Storybrooke-based mental fanfic in which all the stuff we always wanted to see in Storybrooke can happen, Snow ends up running the town (and keeps the Queen on the door because she is), Ariel pays lots of visits, Hook and Emma use their ample supply of magic beans to go on realm-hopping vacations on the Jolly Roger, and no one has to deal with Regina or Henry. Win-win-win!

Though I do think they're taking  Once Upon a Time in Offscreenville to new levels, where the show they're not showing us is vastly superior to the one they are showing us.
