I don't know who "cressida25" is but I enjoyed all her posts in that thread!

I didn't enjoy reading her posts because of all the despicable things that happened to her on that board. I don't know how she managed to stay on that board. I'd abandon ship after 2 seconds of being in that subreddit.

The good news is that judging by that debate on Fox News, even they've realized they can't back Drumpf, and he must be stopped.  It's like common sense has broken through, and Fox has realized the complete disaster a Drumpf presidency would be.  His own party doesn't want him to win the nomination, much less be the President.  That dark cloud that is a possible Drumpf presidency is uniting both parties to make sure it doesn't happen.

Come November, if it's Hilary vs Drumpf, it's going to be a beatdown of Reagan vs Mondale proportions.  While he hasn't been losing his voters, he hasn't been winning voters.  He scares people, and he'll scare a lot of Republican voters into voting for Hilary or Bernie Sanders.

While i'm all for Sander to win the election... I can't see 99% of republicans voting for him, while he is fairly moderate for most european countries here in the US - the land where being a democratic- socialist is the same as being a communist!- he is considered far left.

My fear is that in a Trump v. Sander, trump will win because some democrats will prefer him over Sanders.

the majority of sanders supporters seem to be Gen Y and some gen X voters (with a very small number of older gen's), the rest are in favor of Clinton.

I'll be fine with either one, as long as it's a democrat! As a non United Stater, as someone who grew up on democratic-socialist values, on the power of equality not only for women but for every human being, on the wings of freedom and equality as standing side by side... The US republican party scares the crap out of me!!

This is probably rich, coming from a Russian, but I still can't believe you guys could actually elect Trump. Jeez, he seems like a clown... a scary clown.

We actually have a politician with a similar rhetoric who's been active for decades, but nobody really takes him seriously (also, he's basically bought by Kremlin, like most our politicians).

I feel your pain.. my country, while not as bad as Russia (I hope), has been growing more and more corrupt. :-/

If there are any Trump supporters here, feel free to scroll past this comment.

Drumpf pontificates as though he thinks he'll be King Drumpf or Dictator Drumpf  but he can't actually ever be either of those things. For all it's faults and foibles our system, thankfully, prevents such a thing. So unless he plans on overthrowing our current political system that features a Separation of Powers, he won't ever be able to deport 12 million people or build a literal YUUUUUGGGEEE impenetrable "Colony"-esque wall between Mexico and the US.

Even though I joke about getting my passport renewed in case I need to move to Canada, (preferably Vancouver because I LOVE Vancouver) I have faith that our electorate will realize he's a divisive, racist, misogynist, bloviating dipshit who is only in this for the gamesmanship of seeing if he can get the nomination.  No matter where one falls on the political spectrum, I refuse to believe my country will elect that nincompoop.

That's what many said in the 1920's & 1930's... I have seen many equal Trump to Hitler- and I agree. As the granddaughter of holocaust survivors I am sickened that so many United Staters actually follow him, and that some of them are not some racist "red necks".

Hitler promised many of the same things Trump does, instead of Jews and Communists Trump is using Mexicans and Muslims...

the up part of this all mass is that most of the world nations are against trump and should he get elected I think the US will suffer big time in terms in its foreign relations- which can also be problematic.

The world never truly learns.. time will tell if Trump is elected or not, if he does I will be happy to not be a citizen of the USA and that I have a different country to return to (although not that Israel is such a paradise ...)

Isn't this a dude who said he'd date his own daughter if they weren't related? How can ANYONE vote for him?!

Because he says out loud what many wish they could. The hatred of those who are different, chauvinism toward women... those and much more never disappear (despite people best intentions).. most people learn to play the part or they think they are not racist or women haters.. they learn to keep quiet because that's what is the norm.

Trump being so open about it... for some people it's a blessing! for people like me it brings up painful images.

I really hope the Republican party votes for Clinton or Sanders just to prevent Trump from getting into office. I mean really it's the lesser of two evils for them.

while I want to believe it true, I fear Sander will have not be able to beat Trump since I don't think most republicans will vote for him, he is far too left from their views (when in reality he is considered fairly moderate for most europeans!)

Well, maybe I'm naive (I don't think I am though) I think we have learned. He's followed by a loud minority. He doesn't have enough delegates at this point either.  The media covers him too much and Fox gives him the rule of their roost because of the ratings but the coverage IMO is not an indicator of his actual ability to win the nomination.

The media is stupid and will follow the ratings because it's a "good" story.  That's it.   I'm not saying be lackadaisical about it but I truly don't believe it will happen. Goodness knows I do my part to point out the idiocy of his campaign on Twitter and Facebook.  That's about all I can do at this point.

It's really telling that no one there except for a couple blames the kind of people who go there but blame the quality of the show dropping. As if it justifies the vitriol on that subreddit.

Anyways I'm done talking about it. Just hearing that news made me happy because a friend of mine went there after binge watching Arrow last month and was harassed (not to the point of being sent rape threats, but it wasn't pretty). So it's nice to see the behavior there called out.

If you really want to be scared about US politics, MG tweeted

Revenge of the Simple: How George W. Bush Gave Rise to Trump http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/revenge-of-the-simple-how-george-w-bush-gave-rise-to-trump-20160301… via @Instapaper

I was listening to an interview with Elizabeth LaPensée, an Anishinaabe/Métis game designer, and she was talking about what happened when she complained about the video game Custer's Revenge in which you get points by raping an 'Indian princess' who is naked and tied up on the other side of the screen.  She got the expected hate comments, including one which said "How do you know she doesn't want it?" (the tied-up would have been my first clue) and it occurred to me that these are the people on the nasty reddit and twitter comments, who think that it's okay to get game points by raping.

Oh surely that's an Onion article???  SURELY??

Sadly, not. It's from the Toronto Star, one of the better investigative papers (they broke most of the Rob Ford stuff).  I guess if you really want to believe something, you can make it happen even if it's a 3 year old who doesn't speak English understanding immigration law.

I agree with everyone's fears of Trump.  He is a demagogue of the worst sort.  He is purposefully stoking the racists in America and it's scary and despicable.  He is everything wrong with American politics.  So it is with a heavy heart that I inform all you from outside of the U.S. and outside of the "Great State of Texas"  that Senator Ted Cruz is actually worse.   He may seem reasonable (though I can't see how) and is outwardly respectful, but he is an anti-immigrant (amazing considering he was born in Canada to a Canadian/American mom and Cuban father); anti-Muslim, anti-woman; anti-choice, anti-government, anti-education, doubter-of- climate-change religious zealot who is one step removed from televangelism.   God (or whatever deity you pray to) help us all.

FurryFury, that's why Drumpf is saying that he may sue Ted Cruz to keep him off the ballot.  The Constitution says the president has to be a “natural born Citizen."  Since Cruz has an American mother, he probably qualifies.  It's not entirely clear what "natural born Citizen" means in this context, though there is a strong argument that having an American Citizen as a parent qualifies.  There are quite a few law-review and scholarly articles on this very subject.  The birthers, e.g. Drumpf and his cronies, argued against President Obama's legitimacy because they claimed with zero evidence that he was born in Kenya (and not Hawaii).   The situation with Cruz being the most formidable opponent to Drumpf receiving the Republican nomination is not without irony.   (I hope I used irony correctly here : ) ).  In short, American politics is crazy right now.

But Cruz, unlike Trump, has very little shot at actually winning the nomination- unless something will change. Trump has one thing Cruz doesn't have: nation wide notoriety because of his status as a business man and his TV show and of course his past personal affairs. I know some individuals who would be happy to vote for Trump over Cruz or the other guy (whose name I can't remember) just because they recognize his name and are on in agreement with his stupid slogan (Sorry man but first America is not a country it's a continent, and second: the days of the US being a big power house as it were in the decades post WW2 are done and over with).

I know many outside the US who are following the current election with very worried eyes!

Celebrity is powerful thing. As is ignorance.  Toss in some fear and an angry crowd that backs you up and yep, there you go.

I was listening to a report from the BBC on NPR that suggests the Republican party is set to fracture if Trump gets the nomination.  Others dismissed it, but even extreme right wing talking heads like Glen Beck are freaking out over Trump.

They also say there's a 10-15% chance the decision will get down to the convention level. Meaning that if one candidate doesn't get to a certain number, then the delegates can pretty much choose whoever they want.  The delegates from the primaries are only required to vote for the "winner" they represent the first time around.  After that, they can pick who they like.    So who knows.

Watching this Cast reveal for DWTS. I've found people to root for like Jodie Sweetin, Wanya Morris from Boys to Men and Von Miller from the Denver Broncos but UGH to Antonio Brown being on there. I'm anti Pittsburgh Steelers and the last time one was on he won undeservedly. Seriously Hines Ward was not that good

Finished watching the series finale of Downton Abbey last night. Happy cried through most of it... Everything wound up being predictable with happy endings for everyone. But still for me it was well written and beyond enjoyable.

I was talking with friends about who are favorite characters were and we honestly couldn't decide on just one. All of us were torn and to me that is a testament to the fact that Julian Fellows wrote an amazing cast of characters from all walks of life and different personalities.

I will miss the show and hope they give us annual specials every so often.

On one hand, yes, there were lots of predictable happy endings but I was actually desperately afraid during the whole show that none of the happy endings were going to stick.  And I was super afraid they were going to kill Maggie Smith.  You know had it aired on a US station Edith would have been exposed, Mary would have freaked over the new business (or thought all his sneaking away was him cheating, lol) Anna's baby would have at least nearly died and who knows what would have happened with Barrow.   Instead, Mary HELPED Edith.  Edith redeemed herself from not speaking up earlier about Marigold, Henry and Tom got their own thing to build apart from the estate, and everyone was settled both in career and romantic prospects.

I was very happy.

Not a superhero show...

Another DC Comics Show Might Be Coming To TV Soon
BY CONNER SCHWERDTFEGER  21 HOURS AGO
http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Another-DC-Comics-Show-Might-Coming-TV-Soon-123127.html

WGN America has just placed an order for two brand new pilots. The first pilot, Scalped, is an adaptation of a series of graphic novels by Jason Aaron which first hit shelves back in 2007 and ran for 60 monthly issues. According to a new report from THR, it will be loosely based upon the 1975 arrest of Native American activist Leonard Peltier. Scalped tells a crime story set within a modern Native American reservation and a conflict of loyalty and power between members of a particular tribe. As of now, the report indicates that the project intends to enlist an entirely Native American cast, although few specifics have come forward in that regard.
*  *  *
Scalped will differ from typical DC comics television properties in the sense that it won’t deal with superheroes or traditional comic book universes. Published through DC’s darker, edgier Vertigo brand, Scalped represents an opportunity for a DC adaptation to tell a genuinely dark, gritty, and visceral story, free from the trappings of capes, cowls, and superpowers. That being said, DC guru Geoff Johns will still take a break from producing traditional super heroics to executive produce the project.

Well, if you're sick of Arrow death speculation, how about death speculation for another show?

Ausiello's newest Blind Item - Which show is killing off their star in the season finale?

http://tvline.com/2016/03/08/blind-item-drama-series-death-season-finale-spoilers/

Clues:

- Big 5 network show - not a cable show.

- "its star", not "one of its stars"

- Not Arrow

- the actor in question has not yet been released from his or her contract for next season. So not someone whose contract is up at the end of the season or whose exit has long been known (in other words probably not Stana Katic or Michael Weatherly).

- An hour-long drama, not a comedy.

I'm going to vote for Sullivan Stapleton over on Blindspot cause he's fairly awful and has no chemistry with Jaimie Alexander.  Sadly, considering the lead female has his character's name tattooed on her back, chances are this is never happening.

I'm just a bit curious because I only posted here during season 3, but how badly/passionate did the Fandom get after Sara was killed? Like I know people were upset all season long, but how long did it stay very intense. 'Cause the 100 fandom is still in mad freakout mode, the show runner has lost like half his followers on twitter and people are getting Lexa dedication tattoos, so I'm wondering when it would be safe to go into that particular tag again.

I was very happy.

I was panicky for a lot of it too!! I was very worried about Anna's baby. I had been accidentally spoiled by a photo about Edith, so I figured she would get it together. I was shocked that she confessed it to her future mother-in-law herself. I knew that they were not going to kill Maggie Smith, if only because a friend who had watched it promised me that nothing bad happened to her. It was like the only thing I need reassurance about and wanted spoiled that she would be fine.

I was getting a little concerned about Carson, that something bad might happened. And I found the solution with Barrow perfect. Out of all the character developments, I was surprised in his development. In the beginning, I could not stand him, then loved to hate him and then by the end of this season I just wanted him to find some level of happiness. I was so pleased with his development.

Mary stepping in to help her sister was actually something I had predicted. But I was so glad it happened. Tom & New Hubbie bonding and opening a car shop was also not a surprise, but I was happy to see that everyone was happy about it. I also got a little excited that Tom and the blond editor that caught the bouquet may get together. I saw chemistry. In fact everyone got a little bit of a hope for a romance from downstairs to upstairs.

You are right though that if it had been an American Show, I doubt the finale would have been that consistently happy and thorough in tying up loose ends but setting up a happy future. It was a rewarding experience and I was very happy.

Well I was really mad. :). But I don't know how long the rest of the fandom stayed so mad.

I don't watch The 100, but the impression I got was that Clexa was the most popular fandom ship, and when you kill off half of a popular ship like that, it's always going to be worse. People loved Sara, but she wasn't one half of the popular fandom ship. So I'm not sure it's comparable?

I've been lowkey following what's going on with The 100, and what I gathered was that it wasn't so much that they killed half of a popular ship. It was that they did it in the most clichéd Dead Lesbian Trope manner possible.

Btw, Javier Grillo-Marxuach wrote the episode, and imo has been a mensch through all this. He knows he fucked up, and he's been posting everything people has been sending him, as the way to show he's reading, and listening to the fanbase:

http://okbjgm.tumblr.com

Also, he's gonna be the showrunner for the Xena reboot, so he's gonna have to rebuild the trust of LGBTQ fandom hardcore.

Is Clexa really that popular?  Huh.  I'm like six episodes behind, but I didn't enjoy Lexa last season, and I can't say I really care much about what happens to Clarke.  Raven, Octavia, and Lincoln are my faves.  I like Bellamy too, but I've heard some really terrible things about his arc this season, and I've seen gifs where Bob Morley seems none too pleased about the direction they are taking his character.  I don't even know if I want to catch up at this point...

Every queer person I know stans for Clarke/Lexa harder than any other ship EVER, so, yes. They became more than just a ship, they became THE representation for a whole lot of people. And that's why the fallout is so huge. There's been even rumors of self-harm and suicide attempts over the episode. It's beyond being a fan.

I really really really dislike Clexa and only because I think it's out of character for Clarke to ever fall in love with someone who put her in that position in the S2 finale. It makes no sense to me because that's not who Clarke is. The writers rushed Clexa's development and I ended up resenting what Clexa did to Clarke's character. Not only that, I feel like the writers focused too much on Lexa and essentially forgot about the rest of the cast.

So while it sucks for the show to kill off lesbian character, I'm glad she's gone. I might wait till the season is over to even decide whether or not to watch the show again. S3 was massively disappointing, even moreso than Arrow S3.

I wasn't a fan of Clexa because I'm not a fan of unhealthy relationships in general and Lexa was coming off a huge betrayal (much worse than anything the dumbass in the Green hood has done). But I liked Lexa as a character and I'm mad that they killed her basically the same way Tara died on Buffy. I'm also mad because Fear the Walking Dead sucks and Alycia Debnam Carey was much better on the 100.

I think Tara from BtVS is the real parallel to the Lexa situation, though Willow/Tara had much better development over almost three seasons, so the fact that Tara is still mourned and her death criticized today is no surprise. I do think the Lexa thing will be a much longer-lasting and loud backlash than we saw with Sara, especially because of the ship element and that she was paired with the lead character. And far be it from me to deny anyone their legitimate feelings about this awful trope, but to me, it's not as egregious as the Tara thing because they were in a bit of a jam when it came to ADC's other job (and because of the higher death rate on the show in general). I don't blame them for feeling like they couldn't write around her schedule. Could they have written a death scene that was less tied to her having sex with Clarke? Could they have written a scene that allowed her to die an appropriately badass death? Yep. And that's the thing I think JGM is feeling the pain of right now; killing her wasn't his call, but the manner of death may have been, to some extent.

I'm torn on it in general because I agree with wonderwall that Clexa no longer made any sense to me, so their reconciliation hurt both C & L as characters this season, and I was annoyed that Lexa seemed to be the only character whose story the writers put any effort into in S3 (even if I wasn't particularly thrilled with it, it was obvious where their enthusiasm lay). But at the same time, I found Lexa so intriguing in S2 and am sad that the show screwed her up for me and that they can't fix it now.

Agree with your whole post, CarrieAnn. I never shipped Clexa, but I am still sad at losing what was once the most dynamic character for me. And the way it was done could have definitely been better. Overall, this season of The 100 has really been bumming me out, mostly because of the Bellamy/Pike plot. Outside of that and the Lexa stuff though, I really enjoyed the flashbacks in the most recent episode and how they tied things together.

In other news, I don't know if any of you were Fringe obsessives like me, but Anna Torv has just been cast in a new Netflix series, "Mindhunter". I'm really excited to have her back on TV, and the show seems promising.

I'm probably the only person in the world who hated Tara and was glad to see her gone (but not in the way that triggered Dark Willow). I also never forgave Willow's sudden sexuality with zero exploration. She likes girls too? Fine, no problem. Her suddenly stopping liking boys, now, that should have been at least talked about. It just wasn't done very well. Also, I didn't like Tara at all or her actress.

Lexa at least was a 100 times more interesting character than Tara could ever hope to be, even if Clexa was problematic as hell.

To anyone here who watches Jane the Virgin, I have a question...

Why does anyone like Jane/Rafael? Sometimes I feel like the only thing going for them is the fact that they have great chemistry together but apart from that there's barely any substance to their relationship...  Not to mention S2 is crapping on Rafael's character much like how S3 is murdering Bellamy's character development in The 100... *sigh*

**Haven't watched the latest episode so keep that in mind if something big happened.

To be completely honest, I don't adore either Michael or Rafael but I'm still more on Rafael's side than Michael.  Never really forgave him for basically not wanting the baby.  Or at least it took him too long.

The main reason why I rooted for Rafael was because he believed in Jane and who she at her core wanted to be.  Michael was safe.  Michael was a life as a school teacher, but Rafe was the guy that thought she could do anything she wanted to do and wanted to support her dreams.  That's why I loved him.  And then they were in love and really, the only reason they broke up was because Rafael felt he wasn't worthy of her love, thus pushing her away and by the time he got his head straight, she was afraid of being hurt again.

Basically had he not gotten overwhelmed when his mother came back in his life, they would have still been in love and married and HEA.  So I have a hard time letting go.  They've proved that Michael is a good guy this season but he once again, feels like the safe choice.  When Jane wasn't sure who she was anymore, she slipped back into old patterns and felt like her old self with Michael but that didn't ring to me as a great thing since she has grown and changed so much since then.

In the end, I don't really hate Michael and my BFF adores them together.  I would be ok with Rafe and Jane just being friends and co parents since though it sucks, he may have just missed his window of opportunity.  That said, I am soooooooo on the NOT PETRA!!!!!! Train.

I swear season one vs season two is giving me whiplash.  Petra was awful last year and I'm not forgetting it. Rafe does not deserve to be saddled with her for the rest of his life.Michael wasn't really that great last year either but everyone HAS forgotten that.

I was not a huge fan of Tara or the actress who played her, either. Kind of nicey-nice and milquetoast. Didn't hate her, but definitely didn't like her. Also could have used more setup for Willow being gay, which wasn't even hinted at until Dopplegangland (FABULOUS episode), in S3.

And the season 2 cast additions of Hunter, Mack, and Bobbi continue to pay off massively.

I'm a HUGE fan of Adrianne Palicki, from FNL and even Supernatural, and since she walked towards the bad guys and pulled out her clubs last season, I've been IN LOVE. I've liked the Mack actor since NYPD Blue, and the Bobbi/Hunter chem is great.

If she had been cast as Laurel Lance (and yes I know that Mockingbird is Marvel's iteration of Black Canary), Arrow would look very different today.

I saw Amber Benson in Latter Days, which is actually a really good gay indie movie, and her character was so unlike Tara and kinda bitchy but in a good way. I actually liked Tara but I feel like they didn't give Amber that much to work with, I mean she's never going to be the best actress but Tara could be so one note .
