  1. I've been busy watching baseball for the last month, but this past weekend when I finally had the opportunity to catch up, I didn't want to. My interest in the show was already dwindling heading in the season, but the behavior of the writers and producers behind the scenes has also made me want to quit out of spite. For now, I'm stockpiling the episodes and hoping that the show will eventually head back in a direction I want to watch.
  2. So James is the Laurel Lance of Supergirl? Passed over for love interest, so he gets a mask. I'm not really feeling it. Liked Lena and Winn together. I hope we see more of that. Definitely called Cadmus lady being Lena's mom the second she showed up. It will be interesting to see where Lena lands in all of this. Still not sure about Mon-El. I liked his scenes with Kara, but I don't see much romantic chemistry there yet, and I'm assuming that's where they are going. Count me in as shipping Maggie/Alex. I do think it's moving a little fast (maybe keep Maggie in a relationship a little longer?), but Chyler Leigh is killing it. Her last scene in particular was fantastic.
  3. Thank you! I was hoping when we beat the Giants we'd get some of that Even Year Magic, haha. I really like the Giants too. I always rooted for them in the post season, since until recently the Cubs weren't even close to it.
  4. Hey Chicago what do you say? The Cubs won the World Series today!!! Indescribable is exactly right; I still can't quite believe it. I was in Wrigleyville for the final out and it was unbelievable. Back home now, rewatching the end and it still doesn't seem real. Today is also my birthday. I just got the greatest gift ever.
  5. Go Cubs Go!! I feel good about the game, but I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that the Cubs could win the World Series today. Absolutely unreal.
  6. He seems to be good friends with Lin, but I didn't think he added much to what was otherwise a wonderful documentary.
  7. Love seeing the support for the Cubs! Been a die hard fan my whole life, and I still can't quite believe we're playing in a World Series. I live a few blocks from Wrigley and there is just a buzz in the air here. Go Cubs Go!!
  8. When you have a meeting to go over OTA revenue, which in this case stands for Online Travel Agencies, but you wish it were about Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity as that would be much more interesting.
  9. The retconning in this episode almost made me as dizzy as Bamford's directing. Although I do think most of the actual stunt work was a marked improvement. The flashbacks were also better, and I hope they can continue to actually be interesting throughout the season. Laurel has gotten more posthumous attention than Moira or Tommy have combined, which is straight up ridiculous. Her wish to not be the last Canary was odd to say the least, though I enjoyed Steve's inability to look like he cared about it at all. Oliver/Diggle and Oliver/Felicity scenes were the best for me. There is just such a drastic improvement in every aspect of the show when these characters are together. I'm glad I was spoiled about Felicity's new jar of mayo. It reeks of writing to shock, rather than story which is always a problem with these writers. I'm waiting to withhold judgment on the whole thing until we know how long the new bf will actually be around.
  10. Well I thought the pacing of the whole thing was terrible, but storywise I'm good with where we ended up. The way they were all talking about Laurel gave me the impression that none of them knew her very well, save for Quentin. I thought all the talk about her and graveyard scene were heavy-handed, but I rather be dealing with that than Laurel herself. I liked the final shot with Oliver and Felicity. It had a very "us against the world" type vibe and I dug it. I'm wondering though if they'll be back together by the start of season 5. They seem to be in such a better place now that it's hard for me to believe they'd be able to hold off for 5 more months. Lyla gives me life and I hope she is more involved next season. Finally, #RIP to #Poppy and these horrendous Season 4 flashbacks. You won't be #missed.
  11. Wow, another good episode. I can't believe they actually set off a nuke. Loved the action in this - it was actually fun to watch! And the Palmer Tech shenanigans brought back nice memories of the Merlyn Global heist in season 1. Despite moving really quickly, they still managed to fit in some nice character moments. Really enjoyed digging deeper into Felicity and Noah's relationship. I hope Donna and Noah get a scene together at some point. Oliver and Diggle should do more in their street clothes. What a treat. Lyla needs to be a regular right now. She is awesome and works so well with the team. I never really cared about Thea/Alex, but I could ship Thea/Anarky. Loved his little speech to her about being a "Queen".
  12. It just goes to show how terribly Laurel was written that even when they write her a big send off, she just ends up looking worse. I also found this episode to be boring, but I think I just had a hard time connecting with it because I'm not really sad about Laurel, but everyone else was. I did think SA, EBR, and PB gave some good grief stricken performances. My favorite part was Oliver's face after kissing Laurel. Instant WTF.
  13. The Cubs game was postponed due to rain about 45 minutes before the episode started, so the Chicago market was not preempted after all. Don't know if that was enough time for people to notice the change though.
  14. I'll second the love for the iZombie finale. It was so much fun. I felt the show really came into its own this season, and it's become one of my favorites.
