I would love it if Sami came back and helped Chad and Kate run DE and got rid of Andre. Kate especially needs something to do other than be a nasty hateful miserable bitch for no reason.

Brandon was the overprotected brother like Austin.  Faye was the abused wife like Kate used to be.  Taylor the youngest sibling living in the shadow of her older ones a la Lucas.

The only thing that was different was Paul didn't kidnap the kids and fake their deaths and rename them like Curtis did.

Faye was later killed by the Rafe lookalike the Dimeras hired to take over Rafe's life when they kidnapped him.  I do wish Faye was on the show, and hated when they killed her off.  I did like her with Abe.  Now that Lexie is gone I would totally support a Faye and Abe reunion.

Abe in a front burner story? I like it. The scenes with him and Theo were nice. I'm glad Brandon was remembered. Ciara I don't want to hate you but you should leave the bitchface at home while talking to Claire. You threw away Theo because you wanted Chad and now you need your backup? Too late. Don't be like your mother. 

Definitely over Hope and Rafe. Also Aiden too. They are just going to go round and round until Rafe ultimately plays the hero right?

Well, Aiden has definitely cracked his nut. It's too bad. DC is a good actor. I think it's especially sad that Hope will be his undoing.

Lol.  In fairness Matt Cedeno who is Latin can definitely pass for half black and considering Paul was Latin he probably just figured that Brandon took after him while Nicole and Taylor took after Faye more.

Hope Alice Williams Brady was once a great heroine.. Like Jennifer, she has been destroyed in order to prop the writers' pets.. I really LOVED Bo and Hope of the 80s. Yes, Hope was a totally spoiled, materialistic brat, with a touch of mean girl, before Bo.. However, her relationship with Bo softened her. Just like she brought out his romantic side, his vulnerability, he brought out her desire to be more than Doug's spoiled brat. It is one of the reasons that she became a police officer.. It was to prove to her naysayers and to herself, that she was more than some rich girl.  She had something of value, to offer to the world.. Bo and Hope worked so well together.  They were magical...Thank you! Sheri..It is a true shame what was done to them, as a couple in the 90's, once JER took over.. Hope is not popular these days, like Jennifer, the writers have forgotten, why they were so popular and beloved by the fans for so many years..

Like I said before, I had no problems with her killing Stefano, I would have preferred that John, Marlena and Wayne's Roman do the deed, they were his principal victims,  the evil bastard deserved to suffer at their hands, but, I digress..It was the aftermath of her killing him that ruined her for me...

Original Roman was a good cop who caught the bad guys because he was smart and knew what he was doing.  Bo and Steve ocassionally broke the rules, but they were good guys.  As in actually good, but flawed people.  Now everyone is a stupid criminal, even the supposed good guys.

How great was that whole Clyde story today with his partner in crime more engrossed in the crossword puzzle than anything he had to say. Those two villains and their fantastic acting is what's making the show interesting again.

What isn't interesting is the boring Hope/Rafe. GG is his usually bad self but KA's acting is just as bad these days.

Thanks, for some reason I thought Matt was Latino or more specifically Latino and black.  Anyway, I never thought Brandon and Paul looked dissimilar.  If the actor who played Paul introduced Matt as his son I wouldn't think they were of different ethnicities.  I actually thought they looked alike.  YMMV

Matt is latino, Afro-Latino..There are different types of Latinos.  His father is a black man that comes from Cuba...Mariah Carey's dad is a black man from Venezuela...

I nearly choked on my coffee, when Jennifer said that she was not one to judge...What the F......I remember how she treated Jack like dirt, she failed  him as  a wife, as  the mother of his children, and as a human being..I still remember those mind games that she played with Jack, for her precious Taniel..Shut the F up! I want Jennifer, Hope and Rafe to go on a long vacation, never to be seen ever again...

Rafe, you will never be Beauregard Brady..Go away already.....I want Aiden to prevail over Rafe, I know that it is a pipe dream.....Hope springs eternal.. This is just bad writing all around.  Kate has adored Sonny and always had a loving relationship with him.  I don't mind Chad and Kate teaming up because he was always close to her, in a lot of ways closer to her than he was to Madeline.  But encouraging Chad to go after Sonny just makes no sense.  Ever since Sami left they have been writing Kate all over the place, with no consistency.

The only saving grace for this episode are the scenes with the "bad guys". Whaaa whaaa Clyde..you need to die. Like someone else said, Orpheus is so badass..calm and cool. And SO much better than his dead weight accomplices. 

And WTF is the town on lockdown for? For three felons who are targeting about 10 citizens? SMH.

No, Abe is not all Theo has.  We already went over all of his relative who are presumably still alive, just not on this show.  But actually, Nicole should be more interested in Theo's well being, they share a brother.

Gee, Kate admitting that she might have been wrong about Clyde? All of Chad's snarky remarks were getting pretty old.

Does Theo have some sort of spidey sense that lets him track down Clyde?

About Kate, yes she is one of the most badly written characters. But ultimately, aren't all Kate's actions and thoughts "me first"? And don't most of her actions, thoughts and words, stem from that? In that sense, I don't think Kate's ever changed. It makes sense right now, she'd encourage Chad to go after Sonny, because it helps her get something she wants. Right? And isn't that always what motivates Kate? So in that sense, she's pretty much been consistent through the years. She's shown more vulnerability in the past, and I wish they'd incorporate that more into the character now. But I also think that reflects on Lauren K as well, too. I think there have been moments she certainly could have played scenes more sympathetically/with more layers, and she chose not to. The whole debacle with Deimos comes immediately to mind.

While I love Thao P. the show was wrong to bring him back as Andre.  He should have been Tony. Andre is a deranged serial killer who was never a fan favorite unlike Joe M. as Stefano was at one time, and George D. as Orpheus was and continues to be.  Andre's return is yet another example of the showrunners not understanding their show or their fans.  The character of Tony was great and TP became a fan favorite for his portrayal of that character.  Andre was a great storyline originally, but that was to facilitate what was a very well done murder mystery.  Whenever people requested TP be brought back, it was because we wanted Tony, not Andre.  The sad part is that with the darkening of the Kiriakis clan, Tony could have provided a great contrast, rather than another version of the same thing.  He would have worked great as a source of support for Chad upon Stefano's death, the Abby debacle, and now as Chad finds himself tempted to walk the dark path.  He also shared a terrific friendship with Marlena.  However, we now get him trying to be a grade D version of Stefano, and it simply does not work.

Actually, it should be noted that Paul did eventually put the pieces together and did the math. He realized that he was in jail at the time Brandon was conceived and realized that Abe and Fay had had an affair.  What followed was years of abuse not only for her, but also for Brandon.

Marlena, you have some serious conflict of interest in detailing sessions with your former patients. Another forensic type shrink should have been working on the profile. We learn for the first time that Clyde was abused by his own father, and he drunkenly copped to repeating that cycle of abuse with Ben...but no admission of guilt regarding Jordan. He was so good as Chris who owned Shenanigans and He was great  with that villainess, Savannah...Those were the days........Savannah and Chris in Miami were hot....It is weird watching Josh Taylor as Roman with Kayla..Given, that he took Kayla's virginity....Orpheus should kill his Roman and bring him back as Chris.....We will all win, fauxman will be gone and Josh Taylor can continue to have a job on the show as Chris...Not to mention, that Chris's crazy brother killed Marlena's twin sister Samantha.....

What the hell happened to Freddie Smith's acting skills?..yikes! Those scenes with Chad outside of the pub were painful...Sonny is completely dull without Will....I was hoping that Sonny would be more engaging and dynamic on his own, but, he is so damn boring..I won't even rant about St Paul....His scenes are so forced....He does not fit as John's son, never have and never will...

Victor is an ass and Nicole is right, he is responsible for creating the monster Xander....

I am so glad that the show did not turn Theo into a criminal....

JJ is too inexperienced to be in that type of situation..I miss messy JJ....

Ciara needs to be recast ASAP....

The show was okay..Orpheus is still awesome, I don't know how the show will sustain his presence on the show, for the long haul....

Are we all to quickly forget that Paul was what came in between WilSon? To me, pairing Sonny and Paul is a slap in the face!

Am I the only one who thinks that Theo should have received some of the credit for Joey being freed? If Theo hadn't showed up and distracted Clyde, JJ and Steve couldn't have charged up so quickly making Clyde throw Joey toward them and run. 

So Marlena has devised a plan by assessing each man's psychological profile? I'm curious how this will play out.

Haven't watched today yet...just got caught up on Wednesday's ep. With all Marlena's talk of Orpheus being motivated by love of his children, has no one yet even TRIED to track down these kids to see if they'd be willing to flush out their dad? Or, at the very least, WARN them that pops broke out of prison and they may "be in danger".

Where does a small midwestern town like Salem get the funds to pay for a police force that appears to rival the large CA city that I work in? And to use cops as private security guards? 

I had forgotten that Roman helped with Hope's coverup. Completely ruined as a character. Oh, wait, they ruined the character when they brought in Josh to play him. There will never be another Roman like Wayne Northrop's Roman. And , like was mentioned upthread- I'm also totally skeeved out with Roman's interactions with Kayla based in the actor playing him. And yea, it was 30+years ago, but For me, Josh WAS Chris like Wayne WAS Roman.

I know this is just a TV drama, but are we really supposed to take the Salem PD at all seriously? Who do we get actually going in to save Joey? JJ, a rookie cop and Steve who isn't even a policeman. And they just stand there talking. Shouldn't the place have been completely surrounded, instead of having the officers just walking around doing nothing. Where are the ace detectives, Hope and Rafe when we need them?

the entire police force can't find these guys, but Theo can just waltz in and make a fool of himself. I thought for sure when I saw him with the gun yesterday, that they were going to turn another one of these kids into a murderer.

I thought that scene was very powerful, and was just coming here to praise Freddie's acting.

Why was it Ciara trying to talk Theo out of using a gun, and not Claire?

Why would it be so hard for Caroline to scrounge up some food IN HER RESTAURANT?

Victor is such a warm-hearted, loving person.  And he should know all about career criminals.

I really do hope that the Three Amigos wind up shooting each other.

Let's not forget that this is the same Chad who cheated Sonny out of all of his money.

 I am REALLY  confused about the Orpheus timeline. He told Joey he was separated from his kids when they were very young.  Then he said his kids wanted nothing to do with him. And he said he tried more than once.  Then he has a picture of his daughter and grandson  - what looks to be like a stalkerish  Photo taken from afar.  So when was all this supposed to have happened if he was in prison for 30 years?

KP was great again as Theo.  After Joey was rescued and he stood back and had his hand up by his ear, looking totally overwhelmed ... very well done. 

I also enjoyed the scenes between Nicole, Marlena and Victor.  It's about time someone called Victor out for treating people like shit.

He was really struggling today.  I looked up his age just now and was surprised to learn that he's 73.  I thought he was much older ... and now wonder if he's ok.

He seems like a decent enough guy and is very good looking, but he's never been a great actor IMO.  More often than not he comes across as flat.  It's why I could never get into Sonny and (Chandler's) Will.

If Marlena has an actual plan and it works and she is the hero in all this I will stand up and cheer. I originally watched from around 1980 to 1988 and Marlena was an awesome character and I will always love her
