Abifail is holding fake baby. The guard and she are talking. Chad is loud on his phone saying he's cutting ties with Dimera Enterprises. He has to attend to a meeting I guess, he leaves. Abifail and TJ are at the house alone. She's hearing noises. She's humming. And there is JJ. He tells her he'll protect her. Abifail and TJ are alone again. She's paranoid and goes to see if the gun is in the draw. Ooo real baby. She heads upstairs with the baby to put him down for the night and then she sees a dark figure the entrance door. And more flashbacks of Ben's BBQ.

It's Chad. They are talking about their plan again and how they will trap Ben. JJ and Chad are talking about it thinking she's putting down TJ. She hears them. Now she's with the baby in his room. There is thunder. She looks out the window completely creeped out. Shes humming Itsy Bitsy Spider (for the third time).

Chad and JJ cant believe Ben escaped the psych ward. JJ talking about the history of the Dimera house and how creepy it is. There is something outside. JJ checks. Abifail sees a dark shadow in the door that looks like Ben. She turns on the light and it's the toy bear. She heads downstairs with the baby. More flashbacks. Ohone rings. She picks up. And there is heavy breathing - IT'S MICHAEL MYERS. LOL, no, just Jennifer. Jennifer going down memory lane about Abifail's room. Jennifer's holding her pills in hand. She's talking about the rattle that's gone missing. Abifail didn't take it with her. The phone disconnects. The lights are out. She yells for Chad and JJ, she's scared. Abifail roams betwen the living room and entrance with a firepoker. She comes back in living room and there is a human figure that looks like Ben. (I swear if Ben just had the Michael Myers mask this would be cooler).

They look at each other... he's looking at the baby... she runs outside with the firepoker (dumbass)... JJ comes behind her and holds her... she's freakin... Chad is now trying to calm her down... she claims she saw him... Abifail is talking and pointing she's now entered cuckooland...JJ tries to call the security and no one responds... Crabs are holding each other.

Chad tells Abifail not to worry about... Abifail is being a worry wart...There is some dark figure outside but it's only JJ...Abifail recognizes JJ and Chad have been possibly lying to her again... She keeps assuring she saw Ben... JJ tells Abifail stop worrying but she says Ben wasn't in the shadows but he was right there...JJ tells her if they remain calm everything will be fine...she again has flashbacks of Ben's BBQ.

Itsy Bisty Spider is brought up again. Abifail use to sing it to JJ and he remembers. He says he felt safe with her

I only really watch Days here or there over the years so there are huge storyline I have missed. I have watched more daily the last few years. Anyway, I thought I read there was a storyline where Sami became a man, but it was actually played by a man.

So my thought is it would be such great revenge, if this whole Ben coming back was actually Sami impersonating Ben getting revenge by driving Abagail crazy.

I still hate that Abagail never truly paid for the whole EJ affair.

Maybe this will be an unpopular opinion, but I LOVED today's episode.  And I am not an Abigail fan, so the idea of a whole episode about her and Chad sounds like it should be horrible, but in fact, compared to Friday's episode, this was a masterpiece!  (Friday's chat-fest bored me to tears)

For once Days used its dark lighting for suspense, and with the shadows and sound effects, it had me on the edge of my seat, expecting to jump any second. (I don't watch horror movies, btw)  I'm still not sure if Ben is really there, or if Abigail is losing her mind, but I'll give KM praise for doing a good job.  And I love JJ in this new, grownup role.  And we had just a touch of Jennifer to add to the suspense.  And Chad was, well, Chad.

Good show today. I'm glad I watched.

Heh, the security guy was ignoring Abigail.  I wish more people would do that.

If Abigail is so worried about being in the house, why didn't she turn on all of the damn lights?

Did JJ say there was a hurricane?  In the Midwest?

Chad needs to stfu about people escaping from tightly guarded facilities.  He's a DiMera.

Today's episode was clearly the writers' attempt to get KM an Emmy next year.

This was actually a good episode today.  Even if I couldn't see what the hell was going on.

That was truly one hour of my life I'll never get back. Not only was it ridiculous it REALLY highlighted KM's inability to act. When she ran oui the French doors with the poker (or whatever it was)'and started screaming it was over. If this is her swan song that bird is dead before its last note.

Chad and JJ were good.

Oh yay, an Abby-centric episode... [/sarcasm]

So many layers of wrong with it (beside the obvious that it all revolved this one character):

**Why was the house and all the rooms so dark before the power went out if Abby was so scared?  I'd have every light on!

**The power went out--you mean to tell me that the DiMera mansion doesn't have a generator?

**With all the money they had, they didn't have more security guards **in** the house in case there was an issue?  Chad and JJ and some outside guards clearly weren't cutting it here

**If Abby and Thomas's safety were top priority, why did they keep leaving her and the baby all alone?  Every time something sketchy happened, they took off and left her unguarded!

**Why does Abby come off so bitchy all the time, even when she is supposed to be afraid?

I just want this storyline to be over with and fast!

Were they trying to make the show like a Hitchcock movie?  If so, it was a serious fail.  I don't mind Chad and JJ, but Abifail... no, I just couldn't handle it and was very thankful for the FF button.

They secretly wanted Ben to kill Failure and take plot point baby.

I feel like KM can take this DVD into any casting call for those B-Movie horror films and probably get casted

I thought it was good, campy fun today with all the wind howling and the doors and windows rattling. Not sure they  meant it to be campy, but I enjoyed it just the same. I think KM did pretty well today showing how tortured Abby is and I'm so glad they have JJ doing something substantial. That phantom Ben stuff is CREEPY. But it irks me that Chad and JJ thought they could handle all of that on their own, even with Team Security out there somewhere. If I was Abby, I'd have turned on every light fixture in that mansion. And this is petty, but why is she always clomping around in those heeled boots? Not the best footwear if you might need to make a quick getaway. And I'm not sure why I retained this, but I think they're the same stupid boots she had on in the cabin.

I liked the Jennifer interlude -- just in case we forget, she has a drug problem.

I'm a sucker for dark and stormy night stories and will sit with buffynut in loving today's suspense.  Is the killer mannequin real or a figment of Abigail's imagination?  Dun dun dun!

However, I respectfully disagree about KM's ability.  She's terrible!  And today only put a giant exclamation point on it for me.

Chad and JJ's befuddlement on what to do with Abigail's increasing craziness was great.  I also really liked the moment when JJ recalled being scared as a youngster and being comforted by Abigail's terrible singing.  Casey Moss was excellent there but of course he got nothing from KM.  She's a blank, and her emotion isn't real or believable .... and then I get distracted by those weird looking alien fingers of hers.

Anyhow, if they're not going to kill off the awful, useless character of Abigail the next best thing is to put her on the choo choo train to Looneyville.

As a diehard Kim and Shane fan, I loved it when Shane and Kim lived there together. Shane brought the place because it reminded him of Donovan estates back in England.....

I could care less about Abigail and her pain..I stopped liking her when Ashley Benson vacated the role... I actually think it is in character for Abigail to lose her mind. Even back during the Ashley Benson days, she always exhibited obsessive qualities that could lead to some type of break with reality....She and Nick had that in common back when they were a tight group with Max Brady and Chelsea.....Plus, Jennifer always feared that she would go crazy like her mother Laura. It will be interesting to see her reaction to Abigail's insanity...

A full hour of Abby. With Chad and JJ. That was interesting. I can see the set up they are making for Abigail to go crazy I guess. Was glad to see the phone call from Jennifer. But we get it: Jen has a PILL PROBLEM! I wouldn't know if she wasn't clutching her pill bottle every other scene.

Side note: I will take more JJ however I can get him.

He looked really good after he came in from the rain.  :-)

I watched the rerun on Pop this evening.  KM's performance was even weaker on the second viewing.  I just don't understand her acting choices.  She smirked when Abigail remembered how Ben lit the bed on fire and when JJ told her not the worry and that Ben would never hurt her.  And then at the end, when she saw/imagined seeing Ben?  A complete blank.  WTF?  The plastic maniac who tried to set Abigail on fire and strangled and shot numerous people, including her supposed best friend, and smirking and bored face is all KM can muster?

Shawn Christian has got to be at least 10 years older than Marie Rogers, so I do not understand this retcon at all.

True story: At first, I misread this as "Shawn Christian has got to be at least 70 years older ... " and thought, "And how, sister!"

I'm willing to give him time to bond w/others b/c I love Jordi so much. He's got talent. Give him a few weeks.

Close.

Marie Wilson: October 12, 1974 (age 41)

Shawn Christian: December 18, 1965 (Age 50)

So how the hell can Summer be older than Tanman is off. Yet THIS IS DAYS. Math has never been this show's strong suit, look at Kate and Billie played by Lisa Rinna. Kate would had been like 10 or 11 if she gave birth to Billie if you think about it.

I wasn't watching when Julie Pinson played Billie, but I could believe Kate as her mother.  But yeah, no way does LK look old enough to be Lisa Rinna's mom.  Rinna has always looked older than her years though, in part because of that old lady haircut she's had forever and skin more orange than Dr. Tan.

Summer said she thought of Daniel as an older brother, so the characters are apparently supposed to be Daniel older, Summer younger.

Umm no. Maggie had Summer on a farm via Twilight sleep and her kin took the baby from her when she was a teen. Maggie is only Tanman's mom because of egg donation which happened when she was with Mickey.

Julie Pinson (which is my favorite Billie), Kate would had been 14 with that Billie which is very possible if Kate started being hot and fast at that age. Krista Allen's Billie was the more age appropriate one of the three.

Not to mention the plastic surgery that Lisa Rinna has done over the years..She was beautiful when she came on the show years ago.. She looked like she could be Kate's daughter, when Deborah Adair was playing her....

I feel like the lovefest mostly comes from her character being J+J's kid, she gets a pass along with the fact she's cute. Guy was not a good recast for Will but to attack him for not being Chandler always annoyed from several Days fans.

They used to attack Chandler relentlessly before he left. They even accused him of being a Homophobe.  Perhaps, they hated the character of Will because they hate Sami and Allison Sweeney with a passion. They liked Guy Wilson for a a few weeks and then they started hating him...Once he cheated and Sparkle came on the scene. The hatred got worse over there. They have a weird hatred for Jenn Lilley and Theresa at that site. They  hate Theresa for trying to kill John. John is Bambie for them.  Jarlena is the holy grail and Belle before her personality transplant was the best character ever...They are constantly attacking Jenn Lilley and say that she is bad actress...They are a weird bunch..I prefer this board. I was one of the few that still liked Will and did not have a problem wttih Guy as Will. I never felt attacked for being a lone wolf...

I can understand if some people just don't like Theresa period. She's definitely given people plenty of reasons to despise her. But Jen Lilley on the other hand though... I can't really think of any reason to hate her. Maybe it's her positive, can do attitude that may rub some people the wrong way. However, I think there are also some people that are just plain jealous of her because she's drop dead gorgeous and is not only a talented actress but is a great singer & has a loving husband. Not to mention that she's a very devoted Christian and she's one of the very few people I know of that appears to be very fearless with her faith & I admire that. So she appears to have everything at her fingertips & that can rile a lot of people up. That could explain why some people are nasty towards her & they say mean things to make themselves feel better.

Honestly... I don't really think she's a bad actress at all. In fact, she's got some pretty good acting chops and from what I've seen from her on Days and also on Youthful Daze & most recently The Spirit of Christmas she can actually handle really heavy emotional material. So all she really needs is some good material to work off of and she can really shine. And unfortunately that hasn't really happened for her on Days. It's probably a wonder she's barely been pre-nominated, let alone nominated for a Daytime Emmy.

And it's pretty funny how so many people still hate her for whacking John when I don't even give a crap anymore about that. As far as I'm concerned, it's old news and compared to many of Brady's other love interests, she's relatively tame. And by the way, I actually don't mind Paul and sometimes I'm baffled by why some people can't stand him. As far as male characters go, he's okay & it's not like he actually initially set out to destroy Will & Sonny's marriage. Most of the blame should fall on Will, not Paul. Will was the one that chose to throw away his marriage.

And regarding Guy Wilson, he's pretty much the only version of Will I'm familiar with because I think Chandler Massey was leaving just as I was starting to watch Days so I'm not really familiar with him. And I think he's okay but I felt Freddie Smith was a stronger actor than he was. And as horrible as Will was, I don't think he deserved to die at all. And he sure as hell wasn't irredeemable, at least compared to so many people on this dang show.

Today's show was one complete and utter delight, wasn't it??  Oh, wait....no, that was my colonoscopy.  I got those two things confused.  Maybe it's because I probably screamed as much during the procedure as Abigail bitched throughout today's show.   And both were not without pain.

I think it's wonderful that Show is now filming each episode as an old radio serial, with obviously no need to light the sets for the audience, except THIS IS BROADCAST - right?  Because I really can't tell cuz I can barely see a damn thing.

Other than Abigail carrying on as if somebody in Salem slapped her back, my favorite part of today's show was that butt ugly, huge, stuffed whateverthehellitis thing.

Who on earth would buy that for a kid?

Well, maybe Andre bought it!

JJ was adorable again in his cop drag.  Best move Show has made with his character since he came on.

I agree. Tomsell screwed her up pretty much from Day One and Jen Lilley has to endure the audience's ire ever since. It's just so tragically unfair. I'll give Griffley/Griffstein credit for at least trying to revitalize her as a character. I do believe they've made some major improvements to Theresa's character & I've definitely been enjoying her more lately. It's because of Jen that Theresa's managed to survive for as long as she has thus far. It's also one of the main reasons why I still hold a massive grudge against this particular writing team to this day. No matter how bad Griffley/Griffstein might get from this point forward, I would never, never, ever under any circumstance want Tomsell back. Dena Higley can be the demon spawn from hell that will ravage this planet & you still can't convince me to beg Tomsell to come back. I also don't quite understand Ken Corday & his obsession with Sami either. She's not the end all, be all of this damn show. Sheesh.

I personally hate how watered down Theresa has been under Griffith/Higley too. Unpopular opinion but I found her enjoyable before her being with Brady now she's so bland and a pushover wife especially now with this Summer crap. The writers should find a balance with the Theresa character she can be sweet, fun yet no take any crap especially from Brady or the parasite Summer. That's another reason I'm not a Thrady fan at all along with the fact I don't see this abundance of chemistry some fans see in that pairing.

I kind of have to agree on the balance part. That was one of my biggest beefs with Tomsell when it came to Theresa; they took her way too far and wrote her as being over the top mean & I hated it. At least she got toned down some; she really needed that. I'll admit I did like how she has given Summer attitude lately and that was actually kind of awesome. It actually occurred to me that the one thing I liked the most about Old!Theresa was how feisty she was and she had some snark. I don't miss anything else about the old version of Theresa at all. And at least now she's actually developing as her own character instead of being merely a Sami clone, which bothered me to the nth degree. There's always plenty of room for improvement but so far I've been liking what I'm seeing.

As I've mentioned on another thread earlier today, one of this show's biggest problems is the lack of balance in characters' personalities. Either you get people like Lani who are so mind-numbingly boring that you don't care to see them on-screen or you get people like Clyde who are so godawful that you can't stand to see them on-screen and you want them gone. So I think it is possible for Theresa to become a more mature, softer character but still have an edge but to carry out these complexities require a talent that appears to be far beyond the capabilities of the current writing staff at Days.

And actually, I think Theresa & Brady have some pretty decent, good chemistry & although bizarre I always found their dynamic fascinating. I think Theresa actually helps elevate Brady as a character because as much as I'd hate to admit it Brady's kind of weak as a character & I like the idea of Theresa being the brains of the relationship especially because Brady's a dumbass anyway. I think it might not hurt to have Brady be given more of an edge and he & Theresa can be a darker, sexier, adventurous power couple, with each of them encouraging their passionate, wild side but also bringing out their softer sides. For all of their flaws as a couple I think they still have some potential to be something greater.

Feel free to disagree with any of this but this is just my personal take on this situation.

Today was good minus the parts where Abifail was on screen.

LOL

This was actually a good episode today.  Even if I couldn't see what the hell was going on.

At least today's episode made better use of their non-lit sets.

I feel like KM can take this DVD into any casting call for those B-Movie horror films and probably get casted

That's exactly what the episode felt like, a B-Movie horror film.

I thought it was good, campy fun today with all the wind howling and the doors and windows rattling. Not sure they  meant it to be campy, but I enjoyed it just the same. I think KM did pretty well today showing how tortured Abby is and I'm so glad they have JJ doing something substantial.

It was campy, but so much different from a regular episode, that I enjoyed it.  I love new mature JJ.  I hope they don't end up ruining his character.

Perhaps in my praise for KM, I should have clarified that I didn't think she was Oscar worthy, or even Daytime Emmy worthy.  LOL.  But I didn't hate her as much as I have in the past.

As a diehard Kim and Shane fan, I loved it when Shane and Kim lived there together. Shane brought the place because it reminded him of Donovan estates back in England.....

I remember when Shane bought the house, but I didn't realize it was now Dimera mansion.  (I'd love to see Shane again)

I have the feeling Abigail will go into a delusional blackout or rage and shoot or stab Chad.

Everytime they showed the gun, I thought it was foreshadowing a tragedy of some sort.

I went back and forth today really enjoying the show and then thinking it was cheesy as hell.

I enjoyed it because it was cheesy.  And because I can't remember ever seeing an entire episode of a soap opera devote an entire show to one storyline.  I kinda wish they'd done the same thing with John and his insane father, because it was hard to care about the Herandez family that day when they kept interrupting the more interesting story-line.

I only ever saw Guy Wilson as Will, and my first scenes of him was when he was writing the negative article about his mother and EJ.  So my first opinion of Will was not a good one, and it just got worse as the writers continued to destroy the character.

The only time Brady was edgy, sexy and dark was when he was with Kristen. And as someone who loved Broe, I enjoyed me some Bristen! Kristen/ED and EM/Brady just played that shit so well and I loved every minute of it.

It's always annoyed Brady (played by EM) is a Kiriakis and Black and lacks edge. They always have written him like loser in love, kind of emo and a dumbass. And since he's more connected to his Kiriakis side he should be always trying hocheck Phillip and Victor every chance he gets especially when it comes his place at Titan.
