S18.E18: New Love Is in the Air

Hate to say it, but Emem seems to be ignoring the red flags with this new guy just like she said about Ikechi at the beginning. This dude is laying it on way too thick for someone who's not even officially divorced from a 10+ year marriage yet.

He might be moving fast, but I'm sure it's uplifting to just be around someone who doesn't act like he's repulsed by her.

Michelle seems to enjoy the attention of being cheated on. It’s not landing though because even though David was wrong, she was never going to give him a chance. She can still be mad at Madison but they weren’t true friends so it’s time to let it go.
What was the tattoo David got? Was it just a black out over the ex’s name? It’s not attractive at all.
How funny that Madison was on Allen’s case about taking good care of himself and going to the gym and there’s David with quite a belly for a workoutaholic.
Madison’s dad went too easy on her. He should have told her that David sounds like a cheater and that she is an idiot.

Thats right Karla, you joined the show to get married, not to cheer on some mustache! Tell him girl!

I’m happy to see Thomas and Camille moving in together. I’m glad he planned and she didn’t complain. I hope they make it!

Emem Is coming off a bit desperate to fix the mistake that was Ikechi. I know she wants to move on and erase that time in her life but this is too fast.

Wait…what the heck is happening??  This is all so bizarre!  TMI on David and Madison—there is no redeeming this story line 🤮.  And Emem…that was head-spinningly fast.

I wonder if the ‘experts’ think they are going to count David and Madison as a successful couple now since they wouldn’t have met without the show?

Aaaaannnndddd...here comes Ikechi, bringing the fun! 😅

Emem is putting on a show with the false apology to Ikechi.  They're both full of bullcrap.

It’s kind of like a soap opera/sitcom. The group is doing okay but David and later Emem decide they need to apologize when what they need is to stop engaging.

Allen wanted everyone to know he’s had sex lol. He should have kept that to himself.

Everything was so embarrassing for Emem last night.

- Jumping into a marriage with a couch surfing dude
- Likely buying her own engagement ring
- Continuing to give Ikechi any of her energy
- Her man going up to Ikechi and saying, "I don't think you understand, I'm Emem's fiancé" 🤦‍♀️

She said on Afterparty they're getting married as soon as their divorces are finalized and I can only hope she's got enough sense left to sign a prenup at least.

I think Emem played us all (including the producers).  For her and Brandon to get engaged on their 'second' date implies to me that something was going on well before then.  Did she do the show to make Brandon jealous?  Did she start seeing Brandon while on the show?  Did she only get together with Brandon to flaunt her relationship in Ikechi's face?  Don't know and doubt we'll ever get the full story, but it just doesn't make sense that they reconnected after Decision Day and moved that quickly while Emem pointed out to others that they had divorce in common...

Madison and David seem to want everyone's validation that, yes, they were meant to be.  Her dad with his 'the heart wants what the heart wants' is what one says to justify themselves.  The heart may want something but that doesn't mean one has to act on it.  I laughed when they were leaving the first group event and Madison was all boasting about taking down Michelle.  Hmmm, not so much as Michelle didn't seem to be backing down.  Oh, and the whole 'it doesn't seem like everyone is supporting us' at the second group event (Thomas' birthday) shows that Madison and David do not see any issues with how they got together.  I liked that Allen publicly addressed that, again, he does not want 'closure' or really any other interactions with Madison. Way too much time spent on those two.

It seems that Juan and Allen are good friends-or at least friendly for how many more times they have to film the show.

Michelle-just stop.  Quit trying to be a martyr-it's a much better look for you to move forward rather than replay two months of lying from a man in whom you really weren't interested.  Take a lead from Allen-just ignore and don't engage.

And THIS was how they want to persuade us to follow the show on Peacock for money???

I am sick of all of them, although I do enjoy some Karla. Where was the big birthday decorations/party? Was that at Madison's apartment? We know it wasn't David's. And I sure didn't need to see David's naked gut hanging out. So, all that tattoo place was was a scene to cover an old tattoo? He didn't put his true love on himself someplace? She really is disgusting. So, now we know they have been "together" for a lot longer than they let on. And, so what? I feel bad for Allen. That's all. David will get his when she dumps him or feels the need to cheat again. Madison is a spoiled brat. She has no empathy or feelings and she is entitled to get what she wants because, you know, she is just THAT beautiful.

Still loathe Camille and her air of superiority and that SHE is the prize, not Tom. Poor guy - I hope she didn't break anything when she jumped on him. She does not deserve him - he will be tested to see if he meets her criteria every single day. How exhausting.

Seriously, Em, you expect us to believe the story about this new guy, who may or may not be known to you. She either hired him to show how much she was desired and to stick it to Ick, or she just wanted him to be jealous. And to bring the new guy on a girl's night after 1 date? She is worse than I thought. I actually liked seeing the smirk/smile on Ick, as I was right there with him. No way is this real. And no way the new normal guy would not ask about why there are always cameras around?

Juan is so clueless. I laughed when he said maybe they could meet up quarterly. He will put that on his meeting planner. Good for Karla for making a clean break. He seemed pretty surprised.

So, the show itself was boring and awful. Then, on AP, as soon as I saw Michelle, I turned it off. We have heard her say everything she has to say - again and again. She is still the bitch. And, since I think this was the last AP, we could have seen another cast member instead of KNP's husband.

I do want to see the reunion that was shot more recently than a year ago. Em and her fake husband will still say they are together. So will Madison and David and I won't believe either of them. Allen will have found a new love (not Michelle), Michelle and Karla will still be single. I have a feeling that Tom and Camille will not be together after a year. He will be too bruised and broken after her physical bodily abuse. Oh yeah - Ick will say he has found someone - also a lie.

She finally puts on the lingerie and then kind of ruins with jumping on him. Hopefully it was for the cameras.

She had previously jumped on his back, so I guess she thinks it's a sexy move, but she could actually hurt him if she hits the wrong spot.  Also, she's a solidly built woman so it's not like she's a lightweight.

I think he just wanted Madison to know he was getting laid. 😄

I don't know... I think David seems way more enthused about this relationship that Madison.

What is think is that they both have a script between each other. Pretending like this is new not a established relationship. But, David is terrible at lying. They are both into each other but Madison being all in betrays her story. David cares less because he had no real relationship with Michelle. Madison has been pretending to be one with Alan for too long to be all giddy already.

He said he got them a hotel room. I figured he probably had someone else decorate too. I don’t think he is that organized or that creative.

I too, did not enjoy seeing them bask in the afterglow of their morning sex.

I would say that Emem is rushing into this second marriage way too fast but then I remembered I’m watching Married at First Sight. This is “taking things slow” by that standard.

I thought Michelle looked amazing again on AfterParty.

Too much Madison and David.  I find them disgusting.  I didn't need to see them on this at all.  But they were all over this episode.  I guess they are trying to convince us they have the greatest love story of all time.  The only scene I would have wanted to see was Madison's dad meeting David.  He was worried about Allen giving his daughter an STD.  What would he think of David?

Madison's cackling that laugh when they left the party.  Talking about her horns on the stairway.  Who do they think they are?  Yet David complained about Michelle's laugh at Tom's birthday party.  Has he not heard Madison cackle after everything she says.

I truly find them disgusting.  I was yelling at the TV when Madison and David were on.  My husband came in the room to see why I was yelling.  But he took one look at the TV and understood why I was yelling.

I actually laughed at Ick this episode.  Thomas had just finished talking about not needing anymore drama.  Then in walks Ick and I laughed out loud.  Then I laughed when he heard Emem was engaged.  It was such a funny moment.  He was as confused as all of us.  What is Emem thinking?  I can't believe the timeline of this engagement.  Either they were already seeing each other or she is insane.  I know she wants to get back at Ick.  But bringing this new guy around so soon was just weird.  Why did she have the girls over to her apartment if she was leaving with him?  Who invites people over and then leaves and tells them to lock up for themselves?  She couldn't wait to show off the engagement ring at Thomas' birthday party.  I would have been uncomfortable doing that.

I really don't think Juan ever wanted a marriage.  I think he just wanted the publicity for his business.  He wanted to show us he can dance and whatever.  I think Karla did want a marriage.  Juan never gave it a chance.  She said they never kissed after the wedding.

I did enjoy watching Karla and Michelle having drinks.  I doubt the waiter wanted to know they did not consummate their marriages.  But the girls were having fun.  Misery loves company.

Neither did any of the other other couples, except Thomas and Camille.

So are we to believe (before the bust ups) that the others stayed each night in the same apartment?

I only watched the weddings and a few episodes before "Decision Day." I don't think I missed anything.

Whelp, so much for Juan and Karla’s friendship. “It would be okay if we saw each other quarterly. Or maybe biquarterly.” that’s real heartfelt. 😆

Allen couldn’t have been creepier with, “I’ve been exploring with some of the, uh…urges I’ve been having.” Murder?!? Cannibalism?!? Oh, he’s fucking freaks on Tinder. Okay. Juan’s sitting at his executive desk, ready for the biquarterly readout.

This hand-drawn cafe is freaking me out! I could maybe handle the walls, but the floor,,table, and chairs are “drawn,” too?! It’s unsettling. But not nearly as unsettling as Emem’s new love-bombing man. Emem keeps saying, “we’re taking it slow” but if you’re talking like he’s the one after one date, that’s not taking it slow. His sister is tired of him living on her couch, and he sees your luxurious apartment. He’s proposing?!? What the fuck?!? Emem, this man is going to scam you for all you’re worth! Then again, didn’t he say he married wife 1 within 6 months? And they were talking like we’re learning our lesson… Three days later… Same mistakes, excellerated!

You look so damn fine, I just wanna eat you up on the espresso martini!! So, finally, he’s admitting the message was for her.

oh, no! He’s actually getting Emem a ring?!? A 4 carat ring?!? Okay, this man is homeless. She’s buying this ring for herself. How do they love each other?!? It’s been a week, if that!!

(will come back later when I finish the episode.)

I think Ick and Emem might have kissed in the short window between the wedding and them starting to hate each other.

FWIW, I don’t think the main stone was a diamond. I thought I heard the salesperson say it was some sort of emerald (though it wasn’t green)…

Also, at the birthday party for Thomas, when David said he was leaving because he had to go to work, was it Madison who said “goodbye losers?”

If I were in a restaurant and looked over and saw Madison and David eating, I would lose my appetite.

I'd have a round of drinks with them.  Most people this season were boring.  They were not. I'd buy Allen a drink too if I saw him out. He was boring, but at least I saw some passion from him at the end of the season, and he did get screwed over. I'd buy him the 8% beers, not the 4%, The rest, I would walk on by- they were too boring or disturbed. Swag guy puts me to sleep with his monotone voice.  His wife seems sort of annoying. Ichechi was got issues; so does Emem.  You can stick the knife deep into somebody without looking rabid.  She failed.  She fell into the gaslighter's trap.

I also don’t think that was a real diamond although it’s hard to tell on tv. I don’t think it’s bad to get a different stone but the whole super speedy proposal is bizarre. If they are real, they had to have already been dating.

I thought it was Michelle that made the catty remark when David announced he was leaving for work (or maybe it was Karla?) but the two did laugh and David made the comment about Michelle’s laugh. He then proceeded to go up to her and apologize for the 100th time.

I mean - she did get married at first sight. By comparison, this relationship is proceeding at a glacial pace.

Seeing what I have seen of them, I wouldn't, but generally I imagine they are fun to drink with. Both of them seem to like the bar scene. Madison is good for a couple of bawdy toasts. They can both probably hold their own in shooting pool or throwing darts or whatever else people do to entertain themselves while they drink.

It was an emerald cut. It was definitely a huge-ass diamond, as she kept wagging it up close for the camera! For sure she paid for it herself, as she owns her own medical practice (I think maybe like a medi-spa/botox kind of place). But, you know what, she ended up proving Ikeche right when he said the issue with them was that he felt like a stand-in husband and she would’ve taken anyone. There you go. We should’ve known this was coming from episode 1 before she even met Ikeche, she was singing over and over, I have a huzzzzbin! I have a huzzbin! Good luck with that. Good thing you started off on Lifetime. I’ll look forward to your inevitable Lifetime movie of the week when your marriage to a complete stranger takes a dark turn.
