They send doctors out for tasks that could be handled by a receptionist while actual patients sit around unattended. And honestly, I get that Ben was a firefighter, but no one should be looking to a resident to decide whether the hospital remains open to trauma. That's a decision about a hundred times above his paygrade and that was why it led to chaos. I can't even with Owen. He's such a baby. I'm sad Yasuda left. I liked the character and thought she was one of the stronger actors out of the intern bunch. 11 minutes ago, dancingdreamer said: Someone is shot, is this the last episode for fall? Yes. babyrambo November 22 Share November 22 I definitely thought the robbery would be more significant than it ended by being but they saved everything into the last 10 minutes. Reminded me of a less exciting version of the ER episode with Carol. And it seems like Jo might lose one or both of the kids and despite been anti baby since she found out, I wish it was her choice. I liked the idea of Jules and Yasuda more than the reality because the execution left a lot to be desired. Just a lot of physical chemistry with very little emotional connection. And I get that she was grieving but I wish Yasuda hadn’t just left without saying anything to the rest of her friends. Her easy dynamic with all the interns was my favourite part of her character. I feel like Kwan and his amnesiac ex are supposed to be some intense love story but the whole things has such a corny daytime soap vibe and I’m so bored whenever they’re on screen. Same with Teddy and Owen, who can’t seem to stop going in circles of bickering and cheating. Not sure what angle they’re playing at now, with them both having potential love interests in the mix but if I had to pick one, I’d rather Teddy be the one to step outside the marriage this time. She and the new doc have chemistry. Plus I hate watching Owen aggressively kiss women. Idk if it’s the direction or what but he does that smushed mouth old Hollywood thing every time. 6 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8514643

But first, the doctors have to have sex, others are making out, dealing with personal drama, argue, and yeah, a couple doctors have to go out for ice. As others have said, with the number of non-medical clerical staff in any hospital, sending doctors for ice is crazy. Amazee-Dayzee November 23 Share November 23 If Jo loses one of the twins I expect Link will probably blame Adams for it and when Amelia steps in to stand up for her nephew he probably will pull a jackass move and try to take Scout from her. Honestly it looked like Adams was the one who was shot so if he was I can't see Jo ALSO losing a twin. Also while it was nice that they didn't kill off Yasuda, I am pretty positive the way she left means we are never ever EVER going to see her again even though they are saying they left the door open. It is like I thought that she won't ever be able to be in the hospital where her sister died. I honestly don't see Kwan and Molly lasting at all especially since her boyfriend just proposed to her and she is conflicted. After being with Kwan I can easily see her rejected him. Then Kwan and Millan find their way back to each other and couple up. Which sucks because Yasullin was the superior couple to Kwillian. But once again Mika is gone for good. I'm calling it right now. At some point Winston and Amelia are going to get together. I think Beltran is a red herring and eventually Winston and Amelia will hook up. Which may lead to problems when Maggie checks back in even if they are divorced. You know the code is to NEVER go after your friend's ex. Maggie already dealt with seeing one ex (DeLuca) begin a relationship with her sister. I can't see Teddy being the one that cheats this time. But I also remember what Cass said to Teddy about how opening up her marriage saved it. I can easily see Owen and Teddy becoming swingers and them exploring that angle. Either that or they both have a threeway with Cass. I just think Cass dropped that bombshell for a reason. So Owen probably will sleep with Nora and Teddy will decide an open marriage is the best way to move forward. Hard to believe Owen has been married to Teddy LONGER than he was to Cristina but all they seem to do is fight and make-up. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8515728

This romance we thought is gonna happen from their first rough meet is dead... No shot for Lucas (as we can tell from the trailer of 21x09), no Beltran at all, and Amelia having her own drama during surgery... I agree with you guys that Yasuda did pretty good job with breakdown. She was the only one I could say I like from the new interns, pitty she's gone. Brooke Davis (dr Beckman) had a little annoying attitude towards our male doctors, especially when women run GSH since literally forever, but she's hot, funny and apparently she's here to destroy Owen's peace of mind, so I'm in!! 🤣 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8515801

Mirabelle November 23 Share November 23 1) There may be no ice but there are plenty of frozen vegetables and other frozen items. Yes, they are a lot more expensive than ice but if you're trying to save lives, eat the cost. 2) I've never led a life of crime so I may be talking out of my ass but if you are trying to rob a place and it has no money and can't get easy access to the safe, wouldn't it be better to cut your losses and leave to rob another store? It's not like the place was surrounded by law enforcement. 3) Nothing this show says will ever convince me Adams didn't get to where he was due to his family connections. One aunt is a NeuroGod and the other is The Sun and his uncle is Revered Memory. 4) Grey's needs to hold a seminar and remind a physician what a state of emergency is and when it is acceptable to leave the premises. We had a doctor and an intern leave for ice and Owen left to drop Nora off at her hotel. Speaking of, I assume Nora was on a previous episode but I have no memory of her case whatsoever. 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8516173

She was Owen's sister's childhood friend who had a surgery complication at another hospital and came to Grey's because apparently Teddy was her only hope. I have only a vague memory of this story after reading her bio page, and it was only like six episodes ago: https://greysanatomy.fandom.com/wiki/Nora_Young Nora had a Nissen fundoplication at another hospital. When her esophagus was perforated after surgery, they tried to repair it, but it failed. At that point, Megan Hunt, Nora's childhood friend, suggested she go to Grey Sloan Memorial, so Teddy could treat her. Nora did so and, after coughing up a liter of blood, she had surgery to repair her esophagus and the fistula that had formed between it and her aorta. ("Take Me to Church") Nora returned to the hospital for a follow-up, but her appointment was cancelled. When she went to leave, her car wouldn't start, so she had to wait several hours for a tow. When Owen found her still waiting, he offered her a ride home. She admitted to him that when she told her ex-husband what had happened, he swooped in to whisk the kids away for the weekend, so Nora either had to interrupt their fun vacation or go a few days without seeing them. And also because GA need a new WOW storyline to get rid of Jo's not so wanted kids...? 😅 And they think people don't remember an episode of ER from 1997 with pregnant Carol witnessing a store robbery 😏 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8518813

I don’t care what time of day/ night it is, every convenience store has at least a crackhead or two wandering in every couple of minutes. No way would Jo and McNephew be the only ones in there. Speaking of which, why would they feel the need to poke their heads around the corner like that? If they had stayed hidden, they could have run out for help when the gunman and clerk moved to the back room safe. Granted, Adams didn’t know that would happen, but what was he planning to do? Hurl a can of peas at the guy? I thought that was dumb of Adams too. When he started moving towards the register he didn't even know there was nothing in it. He should have waited for her to hand over the money and leave. Even if he was worried about the cashier's safety, what did he think he was going to do against a guy with a gun. I think it is weird there was no cash and the only employee didn't know how to access the safe. Had the owner just been there and emptied the register? What was she going to do if someone came in and needed change for their purchase? Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8518911

I think it is a pretty standard thing to regularly take most of the cash out of the tio and for the cashier not to have the combination. Both of these things are supposed to discourage thieves. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8518932

I don't know about convenience stores, but when I worked retail the register started with $100 in small bills and change and showed a notification when it had accumulated a certain amount of cash over that. A supervisor or manager would pull the extra cash, which would go into an envelope that was dropped through a slot in the safe. Only the managers and head cashiers could actually open it (which in my store at the time was I think a total of seven people). (The safe was also in a locked office that was inside the locked breakroom. The people who could open the safe were the only ones who could open the office, as well. But that was also a much bigger building than the average convenience store.) 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8519000
statsgirl November 27 Share November 27 I have to say, that was a decent cliffhanger. I'm more interested in Amelia and Winston's patient than the robbery, but still a decent cliffhanger. I wanted to smack Jules when she said that Bailey didn't think about Yasuda when she let her quit. Bailey was the one thinking about what was best for Yasuda, Jules was thinking only of herself. I like Adams but he was being an idiot by sneaking into the action instead of staying hidden. And no, having ADHD does not excuse it. Jo was an idiot too, she should have thought about her babies and stayed hidden. I can believe that there is little money in the till because most people use credit cards or direct transfer these days. I kept thinking, tell the guy to steal some expensive things from the store and sell them himself. On 11/22/2024 at 5:12 PM, chitowngirl said: And Teddy is Chief of SURGERY, not Chief of STAFF. Since the first episode when the five surgical interns were tasked with keeping five preemie babies alive instead of, you know, the neonatal team, this show has always acted like only surgeons matter. It's very annoying. On 11/22/2024 at 9:25 PM, tinkerbell said: City wide emergency! Heat wave! We can't handle all these patients, what do we do? I will say that kind of weather is supposed to be unusual for Seattle, and I remember them saying when they had the big heat wave a couple of seasons ago that many private homes simply don't have air conditioning because the weather is normally much more mild. I think of it a little like when Houston occasionally gets a freeze or even snow. It can shut the city down, simply because they don't have the equipment to deal with that kind of weather, whereas in cities like Chicago or Boston, that kind of weather would be treated as a big nothing. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8519052
Ajka November 27 Share November 27 (edited) I've just read a crazy theory about LUCAS' MOM... At first I rolled my eyes and laughed it off but then... GA has been really boring last seasons and this plot would be A BIG SHOT. Sounds just like a storyline from the infamous Bold & Beautiful, lol. AMELIA IS LUCAS' BIRTH MOTHER... How, you ask? They say she was an addict already in the age of 13-15, got pregnant, blocked it out totally (oh, really...?), coma, amnesia, whatever, and one of her sisters adopted him and raised as his own - Lucas has no idea, it's a family secret and the main reason why all the sisters are so awful to Amelia. I agree - could be fun and Amelia and Lucas' age would fit but there's too many buts anyway. She would know she was pregnant before her baby son in Private Practice - through a regular gynecological examination, the doctor would confirm whether this is the first pregnancy, right? BUT... PP was million years ago, it doesn't have to have anything to do with the modern GA... And here's a pic of Amelia showing this theory to Lucas. Oh, boy. He's not happy. I think that's what we are supposed to think but high temperatures like that are no longer unusual. The mean maximum for July to September now for Seattle is 85 to 92 degrees, not that far from 100. The town of Lytton British Columbia, north of Seattle, hit 49.6C (121F). There are millions (billions?) of people who live and work in higher temperatures without air conditioning. The hysteria among the doctors makes them look like wimps. But Grey's likes to dial it up to 11. Griffith and Kwan in the OR asking Amelia if 45 minutes was long enough as if they knew nothing about the operation and there was another choice is another example. Since when would a resident get away with mouthing off to their boss that way? And why was Bailey not pointing out that it was Yasuda’s own decision and she couldn’t handle being around the hospital where her sister had died? And after the way Yasuda acted in the morgue and her freakout in the ER, Jules should have realized she was nowhere near ready to be working again. I half expected her to try to crawl into one of those morgue drawers. When I first moved to Seattle in the ‘80s we barely even had discernible seasons here, but now heat waves are not all that unusual. Snow, OTOH, still freaks people out and lots of people who grew up here still don’t know how to drive in it. Right from the minute Nora first showed up I thought “here we go…” Seriously, Owen, you see your wife in an elevator* with another woman’s hand touching her arm and immediately jump to jealousy and offering this other woman a ride home? We all know wnat kind of ride he’s thinking about. * Yeah, yeah, I know… this is Grey’s and all sorts of carrying on happens in the elevators. 5 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/150730-s21e08-drop-it-like-it%E2%80%99s-hot/#findComment-8520656
