“A friend for life” has been said so often on this show and I haven’t believed it for one second, ever. 🤣

It may have started that way the first couple of partnerships, but some of these pros have been on 10 or more seasons…..   it was like that in the Voice.  First season, Blake got so attached to his team and did a lot for them after the show, but you can’t get that involved all the time.

Same here.

i really hope Danny goes.

I actually enjoy all of them, but Danny and Stephen, to me, have shown the least improvement.

I think that his issue with bright lights have an added effect on his performance as well. They have those bright lights right on him

I didn’t watch him during the Olympics. Did he wear glasses when performing a although i doubt the spotlights are as in your face as on the show.

I didn't watch the Olympics at all, I was just making a guess, lol

Stephen wore the glasses all through the olympics and his pommel horse routines.

No, he took them off while he did his routines.

I have to agree. I’ve been rooting for Stephen but if he goes home tonight, I can’t argue with that.

He did?  Wow, so he did his routines almost blind then!

He said in interviews that it’s more about balance and feeling the horse, so that vision is not an issue. Maybe it would be more so in other events.

He is a pommel specialist.   I don’t think the glasses have as much an impact on that apparatus.

FALSE.

He rather famously REMOVED HIS GLASSES before beginning his routines. Videos exist on YouTube, which cannot be embedded here for some reason.

Danny and Witney..

They make a sexy couple. I bet their  freestyle  would be good..

The way he lifted her, incredible.

Some of those lifts they do are crazy. I'd break my neck trying them :p.

Didn't see that ending coming... Probably double elim next week

It’s the finale next week.

Sorry, not sorry, but five people are too many for a finale.

Gotta fill 3 hours somehow. It was excruciatingly long the last time w/ a full first hour of nothing (sigh).

I said to my mom afterward, "Well, tht explains a big part of why the finale will be three hours long!" :p.

I agree that five people is too many for a finale, but I am looking forward to seeing how everyone fares next week. This competition is tight

I'd read some spec that we'd have 5 so the ending didn't surprise me.

On one hand, I'm glad four of my favorite teams made it.  On the other hand, Danny made it in.

How much dancing did Danny actually do?

I thought his first dance was perhaps his best, most content-filled dance.  But the second dance was back to his normal level.  It really stood out because one thing I liked so much about tonight is how much content there was in so many of the dances.  Danny's second dance was the one exception.

I loved that Julianne dumped her frock to dance.  I thought it was an odd choice for her but then it all made sense.

I think tonight was Ilona's best night.  The two dances were so different and she killed both of them. She also cracked me up when Julianne was talking about being single.  She was "me tooing" it up in the background.

I've always thought Joey was cute but damn he was so hot in his Paso Doble look.

Chandler is so good but I find Brandon's choreo kind of boring.  I miss the kinds of routines someone like Derek used to do with his ringers.

Heh. Kind of feels like I wasted my time on this.

The only one left who could really challenge Chandler for the Mirror Ball I think is Joey. ABC probably wouldn't mind seeing the first Bachelor win.

Love Stephen but he did not have a great night.

Danny's great when he's actually moving but he seems to stop and start through his routines.

Ilona wins most improved, this was really her night to shine. Both outfits really suited her and the Viennese Waltz was beautiful. Aw, seeing Alan get choked up while she was telling Julianne how much she'll miss him.

I think for once this was a fair playing field with everyone getting the same dance styles. No Freestyles about dead Grandma to cheat with.

I wonder who was really supposed to go home tonight that they decided to protect with no elimination?

I heard the “no particular order” line, but were Steven and Ilona really the bottom 2? Steven and Danny should have been, but it’s hard to tell how those votes are swinging.

Exactly, hence all the Clark Kent comparisons.

It wouldn't surprise me if were the contestants who had the higher judge's score.  There could be a lax with fan voting who assume they are safe.  Because I would think Steven's and Danny's fans would vote hard to keep them safe.
