Why is Trump losing his mind over Los Angeles and their demonstrations when 100 miles south San Diego is also having demonstrations?

Because LA is a media center teeming with evil liberal dems in showbiz.  Meanwhile, San Diego has a major military presence thanks to the US Navy and a far more conservative citizenry.

Why isn't the media out there showing us all that it is not just Democrats who are opposed to the thuggery of ICE?

Trump has made it clear from the jump that it is all about punishing the folks that didn't vote for him.

Regarding hate, and opposing sides, this Bob Dylan-esque musician/poet, Jesse Welles, sums it up for me with this:

And this:

I worked at a college for 19 years whose school colors were red and black.
I keep hoping I'll be able to wear my red clothes again.

I absolutely love Jesse Welles. IMO, young men today are falling into the vortex of hate with the Tates and Rogans of this world because there are no rock stars for their generation. Where are the rebellious young musicians and singers for them to rally around? I think Springsteen should take Welles on tour with him. The movement needs new blood just like the party does.

And here is some good advice.

Trump is not going to remembered for anything good.  He rightly or wrongly will be compared to Hitler. His legacy will be undermining our country in such a way our enemies could have only dreamed about. I feel like his grave will have to be in some locked mausoleum because otherwise people would piss, spit and who knows what else on it.

Aren't contracts usually negotiated before the current one is so close to expiring?  If ABC knew he wasn't resigning this makes them look even worse.  Trying to curry favor with Trump by parting ways with Moran when they knew he was leaving is pathetic.

It's not just Trump that has angered us.  It's Mitch McConnell stealing a SCOTUS seat by refusing to have a confirmation hearing for Merrick Garland because it was an election year.  It's Mitch McConnell then breaking his own made up rule and letting ACB be confirmed in the month before election day. It's decades of gerrymandering and voter suppression.  If my heart is hard it's with good reason.

One thing Trump did do is he brought out a lot of people's true colors.  For everyone who found empathy for people suffering from Trump's actions there were people who found pleasure from seeing people suffer.

Trump is a puppet. His vitriol is all him but his policies are whatever someone tells him to do. The man is not an idealogue like some of the people around him.

What is MAGA without him? What are their policies?  And who steps up to replace him?

Observe. Maga may be slavering about immigrant deportation and such but meanwhile power is being diverted into the executive branch, voting wards are being restructured, thepower of the federal grows larger and its responsibilities smaller.  Clean environment and health are not concerns.

What percentage of new citizens (and the subsequent generation) voted for Trump anyway?  There's always that "we're not one of THEM" rhetoric going on within some communities.  I've lived it first hand (e.g. Hong Kong Canadians sometimes see mainland immigrants as "showy" and OTT while they are more...subtle about things (not exactly true, TBH)).

I don't have stats handy, but yes. Recent "legal" immigrants were recruited with the us-versus-them rhetoric, differentiating those who came more recently and weren't yet citizens from those who came earlier. The term "illegal" gets bandied about to mean a variety of things, but it's what the "legal" immigrants were told they should want to prevent. I read an article about a "legal" immigrant who voted for Trump and was now in tears because a relative got send to El Salvador to spend the rest of their life in prison because of something like having unpaid parking tickets while not being a citizen.

Yup. Also, Trump himself is in violation of the Hatch Act here.

Kristi Noem violated the Hatch Act last night standing next to Trump at his desk in the Oval when she told Californians not to vote for Gavin Newsom.

Of course, these are functioning democracy issues. We don’t have one of those anymore. I hope no one minds, because I've done this a couple of times recently, but I'm going to call out the criminality here every time I see it moving forward. We've become so accustomed to it that we don't always realize that they're continually criming out in the open. That, of course, is part of the facist plan.

I don't necessarily mean documented vs undocumented, but "not one of them" in the general sense (as is the issue with HK vs mainland (though there are, of course, underlying political issues there too).  What's interesting about THAT is that these people were the "them" 30-40 years ago during the post-Joint Declaration migration period.  Heck, I'm sure early immigrants had issues with people like my parents who came in the 70s (resentment that they were young, English-speaking yuppies, perhaps?).

Breaking news:  Sen. Alex Padilla handcuffed!  Because he interrupted the great Kristi Noem.

Hmm. So far among elected officials, they've arrested and/or charged Ras Baraka, the Black Mayor of Newark, NJ; LaMonica McIver, the Black House Representative from NJ's 10th CD and now Alex Padilla, the Latino Senior Senator from California. Gavin Newsom's been threatened with arrest and even told Tom Homan to come and get him, but so far, no action taken.

Anyone else noticing a pattern? 😠

The cruelty is the point.

https://www.npr.org/2025/06/12/g-s1-72223/public-media-funding-up-in-the-air-as-house-prepares-to-vote-on-claw-backs

The House of Representatives narrowly approved legislation Thursday to claw back two years of federal funding for public media outlets. President Trump, who has attacked the mainstream media more broadly, has accused NPR and PBS of bias against conservative viewpoints.

The measure passed largely along party lines, 214 to 212.

The legislation is the first request by the Trump administration for Congress to take back money it already has approved through annual spending bills. The bill reflects a list of cuts totaling $9.4 billion that were requested by the Office of Management and Budget. The bulk of the cuts — $8.3 billion — are to foreign aid programs addressing global public health, international disaster assistance and hunger relief.

Not to take away from Trump but I would like to call out said businesses for complaining about their workers being taken away and not being able to replace them. I wonder why that is?  Is it because no one wants to work? No, it's likely because these jobs barely pay minimum wage and offer no benefits with unreliable scheduling. Want people to work, give people a living wage and health benefits. It's no secret these employers hire undocumented workers in order to exploit them. I get sick of people calling out undocumented people for "doing it wrong" but staying mum on employers, whose business model is exploiting cheap labor for higher profit. It's all connected.

This should serve as a wake up call for all the people who think that you can reason, or talk sense to brainwashed people. We need to be vigilant of what we're dealing with, and act accordingly.

I'd like to ask any Trump supporter or any loyal Republican at this point if this is what they stand for and wanted when they voted for Trump - being given permission to shoot migrants on sight, hitting protestors on foot with cars, having congressman roughed up, thrown to the ground and handcuffed for daring to ask a question at a meeting, legal immigrants and citizens arrested, detained and threatened with deportation without due process by ICE, the National Guard called out for peaceful protests, etc., etc., etc.. Is this the "great" America you envisioned when you voted for Trump? Because I don't even think YOU can possibly think it resembles anything that should be called "America" at this point. More and more it's starting to look and feel like a military dictatorship. I challenge anyone to tell me why it doesn't. I doubt I will get any intelligent answers. And once again I ask WHEN are you going to say "enough is enough" or "Stop the Insanity"? You can't possibly say this is what you signed on for unless you really ARE a Nazi or a Proud Boy! There's no other way around it at this point. Just admit you made a mistake, for chrissakes! You know that at least I will forgive you, lol. I don't even expect you to become a Democrat at this point. Just freaking admit that this is WRONG enough for you to wash your hands of it and call for the Republican party to DO something to stop it NOW!

Whoever coined the word TACO to describe Trump really hit the nail on the head.  So NOW he sees the damage being done in certain industries by the indiscriminate roundup of undocumented workers?????  He really is uncapable of thinking ahead, of looking at the consequences of his policies - or in this case of how it effects his cronies (and maybe himself since he's been known to hire undocumented workers).

How can any of his supporters support this? I mean they've been told all undocumented are criminals. So gee Trump was lying?

After spending millions on ICE and military in LA is he going to just say "we've solved the problem created by Biden and now those brave troops can go home" ? And of course his supporters will lap it up.

He's incapable of thinking ahead because he's really a simpleton. Donald is just a figurehead of Project 2025, lead/directed by Russell Vought, Stephen Miller, and any other neocons (& present day Hitlerites). That's why he *never* really explains why he's doing what he's doing. He has no idea except for what he's told. His only interests are applause, golf time, acquiring $$ and adulation. Nothing else.

Kristi Noem is a former governor but now she’s ok with taking away state’s rights?

”We are staying here to liberate (LA) from the socialists and burdensome leadership this governor and mayor have placed on this country and city”. The country?

She’s suggesting using military force to remove the democratically elected governor and mayor yet yesterday a judge ruled that Trump had to remove the military from LA only to have another judge put that on hold till NEXT Tuesday

This is surreal
