Morning Joe is on MSNBC. Lioness is a TV series on Paramount+ ;the first season is on Pluto. Agatha All Along is a miniseries on Disney+.

I need my eyes tested again, I thought you had written that "AAA is a miserable series on Disney+" at first glance. 🤣

Apparently Joy invited him back at the end of his segment last week.

In August, Joy had asked Brian on the podcast if Chris Christie could come on weekly. I thought it was a joke then but guess not lol

The special guest has to be either Kamala or Walz right? Or maybe Michelle Obama. Just can't think of any other time they have done the "special guest" thing for someone not of that caliber.

Gov. Christie might have a new contract with ABC News. He just made his return to ABC This Week yesterday, where he is again taking part in panel discussions with Donna Brazille.

I'm amazed that the one arrow they haven't pulled from their quiver yet would be the most deadly in these times:  Helen Reddy's "I am Woman Hear me Roar"!!  Blasting it steady behind news about Trump might send a message to the young ones!!!

There's an old saying that one turns into the very thing they hate.  Sunny and Joy are examples of that.

I am looking forward to the Halloween show...but they will probably do some political theme for a costume...instead of having fun.

Election time can't come soon enough.

They've announced that they're not doing a Halloween show this year.  There's a link to an article about it on the media thread.

I'm pretty sure that if the WaPo Editorial Board has been following its own advice, readers would already know who the board would endorse.

I'm a bit concerned that Sunny said (with my emphasis) "If you think that news should be neutral..." as if that is now in question. News should be neutral or else we can't trust any reporting because we'll be constantly trying to figure out what they aren't telling us in order to advance whatever agenda they have. If you want the press to uncover bad behavior, they have to be able to report everything without worrying about whether it meets someone's approval.

That disgusting commercial they play everyday (and which I turn off as soon as the disclaimer comes on)?  Has anyone seen it on any other network?  I’m wondering if it was meant to target View viewers or if other networks found a way to not show it.

Sunny is offended.  Sunny is offended?  I quote her and bold occasionally, "I think it's really easy for those that aren't OTHERIZED in this country to not be offended...and to tell US, those that are OTHERIZED and MARGINALIZED not to be offended.   I'm offended by what was said at the rally...." and she goes on.

Okay, Sunny has just offended ME!  Does she assume that if I'm not "otherized," that I am, therefore, ENTITLED?  That I  (and thousands and thousands of Americans) have no empathy--that everything is "so easy" for us...that we haven't worked most of our lives to assure equality for all?  Go ahead and BE offended, Sunny, but must you also BE offensive?

It's only on ABC. That vile politician did choose the network specifically to troll View audiences.

Quote

Terry told The Washington Post that he chose to advertise on ABC because he specifically wanted to reach the audience of “The View,” a show he said is particularly disliked by some of the people who donated to help fund his advertising campaign.

Nope. Just on ABC and during this show. The second I see the blue screen, I delete, because it's at the end of the show.

Just this show's viewers as @atomic posted above.

There's a real tendency by Sunny (as well as others) to generalize about everyone who isn't in one of her specific groups. You could say that she's "otherizing" everyone outside her group, instead of seeking commonality with them. While some people are trying to understand those who have different backgrounds or experiences so they can empathize with them, other people are busy drawing lines between people and telling them that they just wouldn't understand. It is like the social version of "If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you", and it works just about as well as it does in personal relationships to make everything better.

Not surprised. There is a real hatred behind antagonizing both the co-hosts on the show as well as its Viewers. Speaks to the state of the country.

I don’t know how the tv business works, but wouldn’t the revenue from that vile ad be credited to the View budget?  He just helped pay Whoopi’s salary.

Never been so glad that I only watch this show via Youtube.

I appreciate Sunny telling it like it is.

Even though for most of my life I worked with and for others different from myself i.e. in race, ethnicity, gender orientation, neurodiverse, etc., I know I have had many  privileges due to being white.

I'm 70 now and when I think about my life circumstances-- there were so so many -- some obvious, some subliminal--where I benefitted by just being white.

Of course, I also remember the times of discrimination and sexism being a woman when I didn't get what I wanted or believed I deserved due to my education and experience. Is that entitlement? Idk. Those times steeled my determination to not give up.

It may be possible to look into the financial dealings of advertisers, but by law television networks must charge the lowest rates to candidates. Issue ads, which I think this one is (I tape the show and always FF thru ads) may not be given the same consideration...

Seriously.

I know. He doesn't have a spotless reputation. Woodward allegedly made-up CIA Director William Casey's deathbed confession for his 1987 book Veil. I don't know if we should always believe him.

And I’m not even going into what he did to Judy Belushi…

Excellent post. Wish I could 'like' it 100 times.

It's a shame that more people can't look honestly at their lives and appreciate all the nuances in life that they benefit from just from being white. I remember having discussions with my son often as he was growing up to be grateful for being tall and blond and blue-eyed and well socialized and smart spoken and to appreciate all the doors it opened for him. Once through those doors he usually had to prove himself but getting in the door is such an important first step that often isn't available for a lot of other people.

I caught a different version of it this morning on CBS while watching the morning show. It did not come with a warning but it should have. It didn't have the part about The View and other women. Same candidate.

ETA: This morning was my first time seeing another ad for this guy. They were interviewing Walz on CBS, perhaps that is why.  They targeted The View because they hate women.

So true.  On the View FB page there are vile posts about how much they hate the show and its hosts.  While I know some here like to complain, and I do too sometimes as well, some of it is kind of humorous, but clearly on FB these people hate-watch and then post about how much they hate the show.  That just doesn't sound normal to me.  Nothing better to do with their time?   Just hateful?

I know that after hearing the speeches and messages at that rally at MSG the other night, I turned to my husband and said, "We are lucky we are white right now."  NOT that it completely protects us, I know that.  I just see that if he gets back in I see a time when black and brown people are going to need to carry their "papers" in order to prove they have a right to be here. 😢

She hasn't said who she will vote for; just who she won't.

Even though countless Rs that she claims are friends or that she respects are all in for Kamala. So what’s her problem?  (Rhetorical)

They could be vile hateful people or they could be trolls paid to sow dissension.

If he gets back in it's going to get bad for anyone not rich.

I would never expect AFG to vote for KH.  First, AFG is a pro-lifer, secondly, she's a resident of solid blue state NY, so it doesn't matter if she doesn't vote for KH.  She's probably writing in Liz Cheney.

I thought I heard her say she was going to write in Cheney's name. Maybe she said it on the podcast.

I think she wants to work in politics again and as much as she says she wants her party to return to being like it was before Trump she knows her job opportunities would be limited if she publicly said she voted for Harris.
