Buckeye71034 October 5 Share October 5 Tuesday is definitely Tim Walz. The campaign announced a media blitz for him. He is doing Fox News on Sunday, 60 Minutes on Monday, a late night show next week and I guess The View! he does super well in interviews (much better on his feet than Kamala) so this is good news. 1 Link to comment

When Bill Clinton was running in 1992 he appeared on Arsenio Hall's late night show and some people credit that for helping him win. Barack Obama appeared on the View in 2008 when he was running. He also appeared when he was President. Hillary Clinton appeared on the View in 2016. And since then a slew of politicians running for office have appeared. I think it's a win win. Viewers get to see candidates in a different environment and candidates get to do a different type of campaigning. 9 Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule October 7 Share October 7 Pardon me if I missed anything, but I have a massive migraine right now— Can Alyssa STFU already about Congress having to “work across the aisles” to get help to all those who are in need as a result of Helene and now Florida’s Category 5? Is she being deliberately obtuse? There is one side that vetoed FEMA funding and it isn’t a “both sides” issue. And I’m so glad that Vice President Harris is finally doing those podcasts that you said she should have been doing a couple months ago. It’s not as if she has another job that still requires her attention or anything. Also, Whoopi? Biden isn’t the “acting President”, he IS THE President. JEEBUS CRIPES. 13 2 1 Link to comment
Shrek October 8 Share October 8 I thought that was what she (Whoopie) said but wasn't sure. As for Alyssa, I don't care what she says she is 100% voting for Trump & is just saying she isn't to avoid the backlash from the others on the show. She tries to play both sides of the coin in every conversation & sometimes the mask will slip. 3 Link to comment

Alyssa, at her core, is an ultra-right-winger, who masks it with a pleasant speaking style and a nice smile. Every once in a while she lets it slip, like that one time she talked about all the 9 month abortions that occur in blue states. She doesn't fool me. 4 3 Link to comment
GiveMeSpace October 8 Share October 8 I hope we don't lose the Affordable Care Act because I'm pretty sure my cringe bone snapped right in half when Whoopi told VP Harris that if she doesn't get sick, she should get her insurance premiums back. It could be a long recovery. 3 12 Link to comment

It could be a long recovery. Yeah, it's not just that she was sharing her favorite stupid political request, again, it's that she stepped all over Vice President Harris' big announcement. Getting Medicare to cover in-home care for seniors is a big deal that will help a lot of families. A good moderator would have let that news breathe for a moment. Instead of asking VP Harris about it, Whoopi goes off on her own tangent. I like Whoopi, but she can be such a chaos agent. I think one of the reasons she says things that get her in trouble is that the mouth doesn't always connect with the brain. 16 minutes ago, bluegirl147 said: She has been saying this ridiculousness for years now. She is always sick. Yes! What kills me (beside the fact that she doesn't get how insurance works) is that she has used the HELL out of her insurance for the past five years or so. She had that horrible bout of pneumonia + sepsis, before Covid even struck. And it seems to me she has had Covid at least 3 times in 4.5 years (maybe more). Hi everybody! I pretty much stopped watching when The View hired Alyssa. I had to watch Kamala Harris today though. Overall, I thought the interview went well (other than the Whoopiness of it all). 8 1 Link to comment

Whoopi's spent a quite a bit of time in the hospital a few years back. I'm certain the costs of that stay exceeded the premiums she paid that year. She probably wouldn't want to pay the difference in that scenario. . 10 Link to comment
atomic October 8 Share October 8 Alyssa made sure to tell us after the interview that she disagrees with almost all of Kamala's policies. But what exactly is it that she finds so objectionable? Restoration of reproductive freedoms? Tax cuts that would benefit 95% of Americans? The new proposal she outlined today which would expand Medicare benefits for seniors? Alyssa always laments about how none of her friends can afford to buy homes - well, Kamala actually plans to do something to help them by offering mortgage assistance to first-time home buyers. It's fine for Alyssa (or anyone else for that matter) to have a dissenting opinion. But if she is going to "candidly" tell us that she dislikes most of Kamala's policies, a candid explanation as to why would also be appreciated. 8 6 1 Link to comment

VP Harris explained-AGAIN-how they had a bipartisan bill to deal with the immigration issue, but when Trump found out, told his sycophants NO, it died. And did anyone catch that sourpuss expression when Sunny was talking about Harris? An election or two ago here in Ontario one of the political parties was sending out very graphic newsletters with content like that. I don't recall them ever having them shown on TV though. At least coming through the door we could bundle them up and toss them. I was glad though we didn't have children living at home at the time who might have seen one of them 😧! 2 Link to comment

My understanding of the term is it applies to people who have children who require more hands on care (not typically college age) and parents who require more substantial care (perhaps with health issues), not people who have kids who are out of the house and parents who are able to care for themselves. 10 Link to comment
