They are slow so even though they say a few weeks, its more like a few months. I bought a dress off the rack and by the time I had it tailored it doubled the price. Eshakti customs it for you for a pittance. I have bought so many things at eshakti! I have noticed that they are much slower to ship in the last year or so. I live in terror that they'll be sold or change management and the quality and service will go downhill. I love them so much. I'm a boho/hippie girl and I always find something pretty and unique there. 1 Link to comment

I saw "Into the Woods" there a few years back and it was very very good. 1 Link to comment

Eldemarge May 2 Share May 2 Nobody asked, but I also love Theater AND Boston! My dad took me to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival as few times when I was a teen. And both of my parents acted in community theater when I was growing up. So yeah, y'all can throw me an invite if you ever decide to do a Boston theater outing! 2 1 Link to comment

There are so many different options in NYC... including some very cheap or free ones being put up by organizations like Japanese-American Friendship Society, various consulates, etc. if you want to try something off the beaten track... but even Opera, Broadway and Joyce can keep one very busy. Wonder if the Lincoln Center Festival will be back to its pre-COVID glory anytime soon... Link to comment

Sadly, like Robert, she also passed away. https://www.distractify.com/p/gina-krasley-cause-of-death 1 Link to comment

Talk about green with envy Pepper! This is your big chance! Visit your friend in Turkey and take in the performances, then check into Shakinah and Sarper’s med spa for all kinds of procedures. Don’t forget to get your Turkey Unitooth! 1 2 1 Link to comment

My friend saw "Carmen" in Istanbul a few weeks ago, I was mad envious. I'm not really an opera person but I love "Carmen". My parents used to go see the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood every summer, my dad loved classical music and probably forgot more about it than most people know. I used to tend bar at a French restaurant in a ritzy apartment complex--Sarah Caldwell, who was the director of the Opera Company of Boston, lived there and used it as her personal corner store, calling down for milk and eggs! I love love love live theater and I'm going every chance I get, now that I'm retired and can squander my meager income. Can't take it with me! There are a lot of options around here, so I'm lucky. STOMP! is touring and doing one night locally, tickets are a fraction of what I'd pay in Boston. We have the option of going to shows in Providence as well, we drove down and saw Hadestown and Les Mis and Come From Away last year. Surprise, Providence is cheaper than Boston too! I'd go every week if I could. Nothing beats a live show! And I can think of nothing nicer than being your best friend! 😍 1 1 1 Link to comment

AZChristian May 2 Share May 2 I don't think those over 75 are automatically qualified for a handicapped tag, but if they need a walker, cane, etc., they can qualify. In most states, people who cannot walk 200 feet without having to rest can probably get a tag. 2 Link to comment
