I may be in the minority but I love Christian. I think his critiques are very spot on and he makes me laugh.

I have done such a complete 180 on Christian that I surprise myself.  I really didn't care for him AT ALL during his season but as a mentor I'm loving him.  He pulls no punches, gives good advice and is quietly hilarious.  I think I really started to adore him after he dressed Leslie Jones when no one else would and she slayed.  I've been rooting for him ever since and find myself liking him even more than Tim.  Tim seemed to get mean toward the end of his run.

I was taking notes about each pairing with who I thought should win each (I was two for four). For Laurance I wrote "hate it, but the judges will probably love it"

That’s the way it usually goes for me, too. 😁

when Christian saved Rami, everyone cheered. Are they idiots? That's one more competitor, and no chance for your own save.

YMMV, of course, but…Rami goes home, and Anna stays? Rami, at the end of the day, has more potential to go deeper into the competition than she does. The only thing that could maybe raise a question is Christian’s history with Rami. But Rami is the better designer who happened to have a bad day. Good use of the save.

So I have a theory that Anna didn't believe Korto when she told her that she needed to rinse the whole garment.  I think she planned to ignore that advice and just dress her model in the bleachy garments until the other designers (and maybe production) stepped in and set her straight.

You would think a designer would know better about using bleach. 🤦‍♀️ It’s a safety issue as well as a liability issue, I would think…

Just a lack of common sense.

Rami did not have the worst design of the day. I'm thinking that he got auf'd so Christian could save him. It was a great scene. It was good TV. It was a set up, wasn't it.

I could go on about the variety of body types among the models. Not a problem irl, but on this competitive runway, larger women don't win as much. Rami's model wasn't made for the top of that skirt (thanks, Christian), but what is being said about the model's weight--nothing good. And c'mon, Mimi is not the norm.

I had no particular opinion about Christian until he fabulously dressed Leslie Jones. Fan. So when I said I couldn't wait for him to grow up and not gloat, it was a wish for him to be better than that.

Go away, Elaine.

I've been watching re-runs and I have to say Tim could be just as intrusive and prone to advice-giving as Christian.  How many times did he say things like: "Don't you think it's a little one-note/bland/out there/disjointed/over-embellished?"  Or plucking at something with a sound that obviously denoted disapproval.  And then the dreaded, "I'm thinking it maybe lacks cohesion" or words to the same effect.

I just see the two as having different approaches and styles.  Tim would stand there reinforcing his point by resting his chin on his hand and saying "Hmmmm," while Christian makes a blithe comment and bounces off.

Different strokes for different folks and all that, but when it comes down to it I think they both made/make some pretty specific suggestions.

yeah my comments about his over-the-top mannerisms in the workroom was more about that somehow I doubt he uses those same mannerisms when he's consulting with a client about what they are going to wear to the grammys....

yeah, for a young woman, she seemed to have very droopy boobs, and that outfit did her no favors

I'm not rewatching old seasons, but I remember there were enough times where Tim's advice was to do the exact thing that the judges ended up hating when the advice was followed.  Ouch.  I like Christian better.

I’ve sewn for a long time, and it would have taken me two hours at the most to make that “dress” that Anna sent down the runway.

I liked Bishme’s jacket, but I’ve seen it before.

When they showed last week’s win, Kara Saun’s dress looked even worse than i remembered it.

I miss Zac Posen examining each of the garments up close after the runway show.

Yes! I said as much on one of the earlier threads.

...and I don't like him as much, but why hasn't Isaac Mizrahi been back?

I refuse to believe these are the best judges they can come up with considering all the people who work  / have worked  in  the fashion industry. Elle isn't the only fashion magazine... what, no editors from Vogue or W past or present can come on the show?

Even some of the other supermodels from back in the day.

I agree  though, the very best people to do the judging are designers who really know about making clothes!

There is no way, I believe, that Vogue/Anna Wintour would allow anyone from their staff to participate in this show.  They regard themselves as above it all.  Maybe Harper's Bazaar, though.

My sewing skills end at sewing on a button, badly because I'm impatient and sloppy, but give me a big darning needle and some heavy duty thread and even I could have made Anna's dress in three hours.  And she was wanging about only having five, through her own fault?

Yea, I was so confused by everyone acting like they'd never heard of tie dye before.

And yet in Season 18 they just had a tie dye challenge. (I'm rewatching old episodes as I watch the new one)

I agree, but my caveat is that they all actually can walk instead of lumbering along like some of them have been doing.  Remember when a model's ability to walk well was one of the reasons they were chosen for runway work, when. a model could really sell a look? Like Mimi.  Even Laurence's model this week played a part in her getting the win. Imagine that gown on the same model if she wasn't able to glide and present it in the best way possible. The models in this season and several of the recent past have put a lot of designers at a disadvantage.

I have been rewatching older seasons and the bias is there as well. Some, like Liris, could do really well with the garments and walk fiercely, but there was another plus size model who just lumbered. I think there was an episode where the designer who had her said that he could dress her in way she could shine, but it hasn't been the designers, it was her.

You mean like Christian telling Rami that he just HAD to make the skirt?  That the judges hated? lol

I think both of them have had their moments where the judges opinions have been the exact opposite of their advice because the judges are wack a lot of the time.

Dear show - you are not going to wipe out fat phobia or sizeism by pretending to be "size blind" during a runway. Also, Elaine, you aren't helping by telling Prajje that his model's shape/size need to be part of the design and then immediately telling the model, "You have a beautiful body!!" Shut up. I can hear you saying "damn, my man Prajje got robbed because his model was fat." Oh yes, I can.

Prajje cracked me up when he said they should get paid for cleaning up Christian's studio.

And Laurence with the ultra dry humor had me snorting wine through my nose. "How many puffer jackets are we going to make this season?" Or, in response to the question about Brittany picking her as the competition, "Well....I guess I'll miss her when she leaves."

Um....cone boobs and vagina arrow, but the judges are second guessing the little shoulder spikes? That said, I liked the way the skirt flowed.

Loved Rami's top, Brittany's puffer jacket, Korto's outfit and Bishme's outfit. I know Bishme's dress was simple, but it fit well and complimented the jacket.

I kind of liked, as another poster mentioned, the topsy-turvy cake look of Anna's dress. I still think the level of venom some of the other contestants unleash on her seems a little much, but if I were Anna, I would prefer straight up Korto-style viciousness to Kara Saun's patronizing. Was kind of hoping Anna would beat Kara Saun just because of that. From what I've seen, it seems like Anna should be easy enough to just kind of ignore - she's irritating AF, but she's a whole lot easier to stomach than a few other dearly departed darlings who were not only annoying but wouldn't ever get out of your face.

Rooting for Bishme or Rami at this point. Lovely people and some great designs. And I don't care how old or basic that makes me sound. :)

PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, get rid of Elaine. She makes no sense. Ever. And I can't stand what she wears. No wonder she's a fan of Anna. Her clothes look like what Anna makes.

I hated the cone boobs on the Laurence's dress. I did like the idea of a gown and other than the cone boobs, the dress was fine.

But I think Bishme was robbed. The jacket was fabulous. The dress was fine. What do they expect in a one day challenge???

Yeah, that kind of work is immensely time-consuming. I was having flashbacks to Chloe Dao gluing all those leaves -- one-by-one -- to her dress. With the clock ticking.

I'm watching the rerun of this episode.   Anna's doesn't look like 5 hours, but about 1 hour of work, doing giant stiches on that hideous outfit with a giant needle, and some heavy weight thread.    I'm wondering if the judges didn't hear about Anna ignoring Korto's advice about washing the denim to get the bleach out until after the episode?   Because if they heard that she absolutely lied to them about not knowing to wash the bleach out, then they should have kicked her out instead of Rami.    Anna's face chain on her model was ridiculous too.

Ramil just couldn't win this week, if his denim had been the same shade, I bet the judges would have said too matchy-matchy, and booted him for that.   I don't see how Laurance (? spelling) won with the hideous cone bra on the dress.

What the hell was Julia Fox wearing?   It looked like a cheap sofa throw chopped up, and made into a ridiculous looking outfit.

I'm not ashamed to admit Christian using his Save to get Rami back touched my cold little heart.

I pretty much agree with what everyone here has already said.

I laughed when Julia said "I'm not going for sexy, I'm going for unhinged." And when one of the other judges said he could see the model's crotch because of the fit and she responded "That's not a deal-breaker for me." She seems to have a sense of humor about herself, at least.

I also thought she was very positive to all the designers and had a stronger viewpoint than a lot of other guest judges this season.

To me, Julia's voice doesn't match her look. I don't know what I'm expecting, but something harder, maybe with a strong accent.

I really liked Rami's top and wondered how it could have looked had he continued that style and color, instead of changing. But I also agree that with a different model, it might have been better received.

The reactions from the other designers about him being sent home, and then saved, seemed very sincere.

I was so emotional after seeing the interaction between Rami and Christian - it was the moment I needed between them. It has been fascinating to watch them together - Christian was just the prodigy punk and Rami was the successful older statesman on their season, and Christian being the breakout star of the whole show and now "mentoring" Rami is so weird, but I loved their sweet interaction, and the respect between them. When this season is over, it's probably the thing I will remember the most.

Total bullshit on Anna being in the top. That was a mess - again, where was Michael Kors with a crotch quip?????? If you can see the model's entire crotch the garment is a fail. But maybe when you have Julia Fox as your guest judge, that's what you get. Seriously, how is this girl qualified to judge these people? Most of the time she looks like hot garbage. If Next In Fashion on Netflix can get big name designers and models as judges, why can't the OG Project Runway line up better judges????

I am in the minority, but i actually like Laurence's gown. The back was gorgeous, and I didn't even mind the cone boobs - they looked weirdly edgy on a dress that was not conventional anyway.

My overall favorite was Britney's, but I too am over the damn puffers. Is that really hot in fashion? I don't know anyone wearing giant puffer coats, but maybe I am ignorant because I live in California and there is no real winter here.

I also loved Bishme's coat, but it deserved a cooler outfit underneath - that dress was just as dated as Rami's, he just had the luck to have Mimi as a model.

I just watched this, and I cannot for the life of me recall what Kara Saun made. At all.

I wish Elaine would have been the one to disappear instead of Nina. Her taste is questionable and she plays favorites. I cannot stand her.

I liked Laurence's dress except for the cone boobs.  I might have liked them better if she had bothered to fit them to the model.

I live in Texas...not sure I've ever seen anyone wear a puffer coat.

I live in MN, I've seen lots...  for years... many years. It drives me crazy when they act like "puffer" anything is exciting or fresh. Ezra Miller (ugh, I know) wore a Moncler puffer full length coat/gown on the red carpet in 2018. Ezra Miller is problematic, but it was a "wow" moment. But doesn't fashion move quickly? When that wow moment was five years ago, it seems like it's over.
