Ha. I don't know how to take that. Someone once told me a long story and then said, "you didn't ask, but I know you like information," and I felt the same way about that. Anyway, I do think it's strange that they show it raining so much on LI. It's like on Survivor where every night has a full moon.

Deaddd 😂💀

Ugh, so after everything we’re pretty much back where we started? The same toxic couples are still toxic couples only now they’re all smug and obnoxious. Just like last season, they need an option to vote for, “Nobody wins because everybody sucks.”

I feel bad that Cash is using Charlie, but she says as much to his face so maybe he just figures being her backup option is enough to get on TV or whatever. I wish Leslie had committed to Korey (I realize they’re more friends) but nobody wants or needs to see a burgeoning Olivia/Korey relationship. Olivia sucks. Literally. Her presence has prevented other more interesting people from being on the show and pursuing connections. I don’t get why she’s there and now she’s dragging Korey into it.

Shannon really is the worst. Who believes her fight with Genny was something they mutually did wrong (probably completely minor) but that Genny forgave Shannon while Shannon was completely petty and spiteful?

Cash is so self absorbed, dramatic, and obnoxious. It’s going to send the wrong message when she wins.

I don’t know what to think of the guys anymore. Most don’t seem like they want to be there. I wish Will picked Flo not because I don’t like Kyra but because it would have been interesting. Will/Kyra, Cinco/Cash/or whatever, Shannon/Josh as strong couples with Jeremy/Genny and Korey/Olivia as new couples? Really? That’s entertaining???

Man I'm tired of Cash literally climbing on people. Sitting straddling someone's lap and kissing them all over like she did last night was not only totally tacky and gross it shouldn't be done two feet from where everyone else is sitting. Awkward! Yeah, I know she was just throwing it in Cinco's face but still she is always engulfing people like a damned octopus.

That whole scene was just nasty.

Speaking of nasty, I wonder how often the villa gets cleaned and who cleans it?  All these people lying around, basically half naked, it's a wonder someone hasn't caught an STD or some other disease, especially the women with their half naked butts hanging out.  The whole scene just looks gross.

Speaking of half naked asses, I'm tired of seeing them but I guess the male viewers like them.

All the men pieing Shannon because she annoys Josh so much IS GIVING ME LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE!

Remember how Shannon and Josh were at the beginning?  Josh was apparently so "obsessed" and Shannon was "uncomfortable" and boy how things have turned.

Poor Charlie, he's so perfect.

Some cute songs tonight, "Me Too" by Meghan Trainor and "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish.

I love how Will speaks.  He's so honest.

Could it be a vote to end the season?

Yes please.

Oh, cool, new girls are coming... err... yeah. I'm sure Shannon will have the welcome wagon ready!

It's really a bit heavy-handed of production to have intentionally brought in someone for Casa Amore that has serious connections and issues with another current islander. The whole 'Genny' thing really bugs me. But wow, Shannon is SUCH a bitch though. Wow, sooo much looking down her nose at everyone as her inferior. Classic mean-girl attitude for the "new" girls. I can only hope someone comes in with eyes for Josh now, just to really see her head blow up.

So for those who don’t have the app and didn’t vote, it was now to vote for your favorite individual girl and boy rather than couple. I voted for Korey—easy choice there. But then when I was scrolling through the girls to choose... Damn, I still chose Cashay even though she’s gotten a bit of a big head as a fan favorite and is sometimes annoying. At least she still brings some entertainment! I just can’t with any of the other girls! At this point I really can’t see rewarding any of these people with $100,000. Putting in spoiler quotes a current contestant who was not in the poll:

Spoiler

Leslie was not included. So I’m guessing after the house turned on her and Genny and she sees the writing on the wall that Korey is going for Olivia she decides to self-eliminate? Or something happened that had her removed from the show, I suppose.

Ok, back to the show…What’s the deal with Shannan trying to get Kyra and all of the girls to go after Will? I also probably wouldn’t have “forgiven” him without at least some additional conversations, but it’s none of her business! She’s just trying to break up or at least shake up her biggest competition on this show. And then how she went after Genny?! Granted, sounds like they already were in some big fight before this show started, so that probably added fuel to the fire. But Genny was not wrong. Can’t these people just go to the bedroom during the day and lock the door for some privacy? It is “raunchy” to have sex with a dozen other people in the room—certainly moreso than just posing for Insta bikini photos. It’s funny how there seems to be a “generation gap” between the 25-year-olds and the 21-year-olds. And, I guess there really is! The new girls are the oldest of Gen Z, and the others are the youngest of Millennials. Or, well, maybe it’s also normal development between college-aged and young adults fending for themselves in the real world.

If Shannon says "my man" one more time I am going to hurl. And yes it was an intimate time with your man Shannon but you did it on television! and then talked about it on television! Whatever, not all the OG's have pure intentions for love either. It's ridiculous. The show is about exposure and acting otherwise is dumb.

Did Cash just straight up lie to Charlie? I'll never hurt you or choose Cinco. Then what was the point of pushing Cinco to fight for her? To win?

It's curious how with 8 billion people in the world, two people who know each other end up on the show.  Unless they were all sitting around one day, Shannon, her sister and Genny, and decided to try  out for the show.  Perhaps the show ought to screen to avoid situations like this.

As for the generations appearing this season, I thought there was a stark contrast between the ages of the 5 new women sent to the Villa vs. the 5 new men sent to Casa Amor.   There's a big difference between a 21 year old and a 30 year old.  Another strange casting decision.

So Shannon and Josh are just the smug obnoxious high school bully couple that think they’re better than everyone else? Can’t stand any of the original cast and wish they would just throw them all out and start with new people. They’re just going to gang up on new people and shoot them down. Charlie is even really welcome, he’s just in the background being ignored by everyone.

Josh calling out anyone for being raunchy is a little much. Has he met Shannon? Half the time, she acts like she's on the pole.

Will's "we don't do drama" made me laugh, but in a way he was right. There's always a ton of drama, but nobody wants a big blowup right after they all got dressed up in their sunflower pants and toasted to having a great night together. One of the reasons I've liked this show is because everyone tries to have fun and get along, but this season seems different.

For example, Cash said last night that Shannon was her bestie. But wait, I thought Olivia was her bestie. And when Aimee left, Cash was crying because she said she just lost her bestie. Then there's Cash telling Trina to forget Cinco because he's no good while probably still planning to go back to him; Trina telling Cash she's "so afraid" that if Cash goes back Cinco will hurt her because suddenly Trina cares about Cash's feelings; Shannon constantly trying to get Kyra to badger Will about a settled matter; Trina jumping in and telling Kyra to be mad at Will. JUST ADMIT YOU ALL HATE EACH OTHER.

The guys are a bit better, except they keep trying to steal whoever Korey's girl is at the moment (fortunately that's now Olivia so I think he's safe), and now they're making Charlie sit by himself in the cafeteria. Poor Charlie. He's too good for this.

So funny when Cinco pied Shannon and said he was doing it just because he wanted to. Everyone wants to! At least Shannon got attention though. Poor Trina saying no one picked her for anything, no kiss, no marry, not even pie. I think she can't help bringing a lot of this on herself, but that still has to sting. The most fun she had was when she pied Cinco and he went in for a big messy kiss so he could get pie all over her too.

New girls! To replace the last set of new girls. Feh. I fear we're stuck with the OGs. One of them save Charlie at least.

Haha, your comment about the guys not stealing Olivia was good. I get what people are saying about not stirring things up after toasting, but I think Leslie and Genny have legitimate issues that should be resolved (sadly, I think it will involve one or both of them apologizing then leaving so Shannon feels even more righteous). But Trina crying that she felt like an outsider again, while the girls are literally ostracising Leslie and Genny was a bit off. And Shannon needs to get over other girls kissing Josh in challenges. It’s beyond tired and old at this point.

Are they being ostracized? I'm not watching any of the streaming episodes, so maybe there's something there, but it seems like they're being included in all the all-girl talks, though they're not having any one-on-ones with the girls (except for Genny and Shannon's pretending to make up the other night). Leslie and Genny do seem to hang out more with each other, but that scene where everyone was working out and they were just there taking photos of themselves made them seem like they weren't even trying to be part of the group.

So funny when Josh said she had grown so much and now he could kiss someone else in a challenge without her getting mad right after she gave that TH about HOW DARE anyone kiss Josh in a challenge that requires kissing.

That conversation with Ginny & Leslie was edited strangely. We saw the guys talking about their love of social media but then suddenly it was all about them being raunchy.  Are they taking raunchy pics for the 'gram or did the subject change?  I was confused.

Can't remember whether it aired on last night's show or the P+ laid bare episode but they did show Ginny & Leslie running around the villa taking a ton of solo pics & asking the guys to take pics of them in various settings.  Guys commented that no one else in the villa is that interested in social media & wondering if they're truly there for love or just notoriety.

Just me or does Ginny seem a bit slow/dumb? I agree with others that it seems a bit unfair that they cast people who already knew each other.  Speaking of...

Spoiler

On the P+ extra show there was talk amongst the guys (Jeremy, Josh & ?, maybe Cinco) that the grandma of either Ginny or Leslies told them before coming in that Will & Kyra knew each other before the show.  That apparently live in very close proximity and that one of them had commented on the other's instagram in the past.

Some discussion how unfair that would be if true, However, the guys also acknowledged that commenting on a social media post doesn't necessarily mean that they knew each other.

So strange that the OGs who are also there for Instagram followers are having (or pretending to have) issues with Leslie and Genny being into social media. Leslie and Genny sure do seem immature but I can't deal with the OGs acting holier-than-thou. After Will's own immaturity in Casa Amor, I would also prefer him to be quiet.

Kyra and Shannon are on two extreme ends. Shannon will crack down on Josh for the slightest things and never really let him off the hook, whereas Kyra seems like a pushover. It's fine she chose to forgive Will about what happened in Casa Amor, but she didn't even give him the third degree to find out why he did it. She just quietly accepted it.

Who is the real Trina? She came on so strong in the beginning of the season, wheeling and dealing and now all her self-esteem seems to have wasted away. I'd respect Leslie and/or Genny if they choose to leave after that showdown. For mental health reasons, it just isn't worth it to put up with Shannon. Or Cash or Olivia, since they are all one clique. And L&G are never going to win anyway. Same for Trina.

I can't understand 10% of what she's saying because her mouth runs so fast, like she can't even control it.  It's like she has an on/off switch in her head.  Jeremy is just waiting it out with her.  He knows he's not gonna win the money anyway so he's just enjoying himself.

I don't vote but, unfortunately, I think Cash is going to be chosen as favorite girl so her head will get even bigger and I'm not looking forward to her shrieks when she wins.  I hope I'm wrong.

I have no idea who'll be chosen as favorite guy, although I'm betting it's every girl's friend Korey.

Yes, if twitter has a say. People have been complaining about them being boring since the beginning and now they're calling Kyra a doormat for not pressing Will on his Flo escapades.

I felt bad for Trina post-game, but she makes zero effort to interact with dudes that aren't Cinco, so she can't be that surprised none of them have friendships with her.

Josh is...growing on me?

I was starting to tolerate Josh until his superior man-splaining about what's acceptable regarding raunchiness to the new girls last night. It felt like something Shannon instructed him to do so that she and Genny could enter stage left with their Real Housewives-ready bitchfest. Seemed lamely staged for attention. Though watching spineless Jeremy try to hide behind his drink was hilarious.

It's a bummer that we seem destined to sputter to the finish line with only OG folks; I wonder if there's some other way of mixing it up? Like maybe have two simultaneous "Islands" so everyone has a chance to mingle and hook up more organically (rather than the Casa folk coming in so hot and rushed), then switch them completely and toss in a couple newbies for the heck of it. Dunno. It's just gotten kind of predictable, and the addition of fresh meat doesn't really hold any promise for mixing things up in terms of the winner. Maybe Jeremy will find a new body pillow.

The US version lacks the time to really push people out of their comfort zones. The brilliance of the UK version is all the votes, recouplings, MORE DATES, eliminations based on different voting systems. For whatever reason, the cast just don’t interact with many different people. They didn’t even do the Twitter challenge or send compromising pics to each side during Casa Amor. Somehow CBS took a relatively simple, dumb concept and made it dumber and simpler.

The US version must be doing something right if 3 people from the UK version have killed themselves and none have done so from the US, so I'm 100% fine with all of the changes.  This show is just supposed to be television entertainment for the summertime, it doesn't have to go to extreme lengths to publicly humiliate the contestants or give the public too much access to them.

Huh, I didn't expect to feel bad for Cinco after watching but I do! Was Germy even there? Trina, please leave and get some intensive therapy. I didn't see you being as wonderful to Cash when she was heartbroken. Kyra could have been my favorite but she should have made Will sweat more and not just forgiven so easily. Have Korey and Leslie even interacted again? He should have picked Isabelle.

I think if they continue this show they need more twists, as both last season and this one are too predictable and anyone outside of the original cast have a hard time changing anything up.  It gets really boring to see the same couples and no one actually making much of an effort.  I think there is no incentive for them to change things up though as viewers tend to vote for the original cast.  So getting in a couple early is key, even if you plan to break up immediately after.

In the UK, it's been on the twice as long and has far more national interest, much like the earlier days of Bachelor/Bachelorette series, which has also experienced suicides.

IMHO, the Love Island suicides had very little to do with the show format and way more to do with social media and tabloids/paparazzi coverage in the UK.  The US now has so many similar shows that none of the cast/hosts would ever garner that much interest or coverage.

As much as people talk about the $100K prize, it’s really not the main draw for people signing up for the show (TV, exposure, followers).  I’d get rid of the grand “prize” since most of these shows end up hating the contestants anyway. Implement some policy that after three recouplings with the same person and three recouplings without staying with someone you have to recouple. CBS’s mistake is thinking the audience is overly invested in the original cast, while we get tired of them more often and would prefer new people and new dynamics to people like Trina, Olivia, and Korey just hanging around not really trying.

I agree. And Love Island (even the UK version) is kinder to the contestants with the edits than the US Bachelor franchise. Love Island do less editing and franken-biting for the contestants characters as they do not have as much time to craft a storyline as much as the Bachelor.

I think it's okay to keep the same formula because it's all in the casting for me. That's what makes or breaks this show. Characters like Jeremy, Olivia, Kyra or even Korey adds little to the storyline, so it's boring.

My guess is social media has played a part in this as well. Just as Cash's ego explosion is likely from reading about herself on SM, Trina has probably been reading all the negative comments about herself. When she was coupled with Cinco, she was getting slammed on twitter more than any other Islander. It only died down (but not completely) when the Korey/Florita/Jeremy thing happened. Everyone on the show has been updating their instagram throughout the season, but they're able to delete negative comments on their own posts; Trina's also on twitter, but she made her timeline private, so I'm guessing she was getting some hate directed at her there, and twitter doesn't allow you to delete other people's tweets. Too many people seem to base their entire self-worth on the opinions of random internet strangers.

In the past people have said islanders give control of their SM to somebody else when they go on the show. My guess is that when they take pics in the villa there’s a way to send that through an intermediary to SM accounts. It’s a way to promote the show when you think about it. But I don’t think contestants have access and can read/see what people say. On the other hand, for some reason the show lets incoming bombshells watch the show up to a point, so they know who gets airtime/favorable edits. I think last season they brought in new islanders who would ask about couples, not knowing that a vote/recoupling just sent someone home.

I think it would be good for the show and both watchers/participants if they did more 'challenges' that lead to people learning about the other people in the Villa and less "Passionately Make Out With Everyone" challenges.

This season in particular has had a ton of 'kiss everyone' challenges which are just gross. The 'Spiderman Kiss' challenge is still burnt into my mind. *shudder*

Agreed.  Unfortunately, even the challenges that ask questions about the islanders, the questions are mostly sexual in nature, sometimes aberrant, and don't expose anything deep and meaningful about the person.  Looks fade, but personality lasts a lifetime.

Also agree about the Spiderman Kiss challenge.  Those images can't be erased.  Eeek!
