"Why America's Got Talent, tell us!" Because where the hell else would a 30-year-old guy go with a baton twirling act?

I loved the hate-comments song. That was fun. People suck. (And gee, what a coincidence that they were talking about social media comments just before she came out. What are the odds?!)

"They're good." Are they? I wouldn't know because I barely saw them.

I liked the Elton John solo-duet. Shut up, Simon.

"I'm 96. I haven't been 96 very long, though." 😄

I think I liked the baby-faced comic....I didn't dislike him, at least.

Oh jeez no crying kids, please. The 13yo dancer was good (though I thought she was gonna say she was 10...) but I'm so tired of that random slo-mo thing they do. Just let us watch the performance!

Why do they always act like they've never seen people aiming sharp objects at their friends and family before? There's one just about every season.

I liked the Mexican singer/dancer group...they had good, uh, voices.....😏

So was the pigeon a trained bird or no? What do we think?

Kid opera singer was good but I hate it when they mess with kids like that.

I got a kick out of the girl singer who took the "Internet Troll" comments & made them into a song, it was clever.  The young comedian was pretty good, I laughed out loud a couple of times.  I admit I did cry when the father came out to sing & told the story of his wife dying in the Helicopter crash with Kobe Bryant, he had a decent voice & a compelling story(but there seem to be a lot of really tragic stories this year, like the young singer with Cancer & the girl whose parents had been murdered).

I had seen a preview of these in a clip for AGT commercial and was wondering when he would be on and what talent he has.  Haven't watched yet, I'll catch up on Hulu.

Thought at first the Mexican guys were a mariachi band, but no instruments. Then I figured okay, it's some kind of traditional dance. Nope, male strippers. I give them props for finding a different take on that. Howie to Sophia at the end "How do you say Chippendales in Spanish?" There is room for another male revue in town so they could very well get a Las Vegas gig out of it.

True countertenors are quite rare. I'm sure the guy's a professional but that was still cool to hear. Music teacher with dead wife was a genuine sob story but I thought his singing was just average. Of course he goes through. Little girl + opera is always a winner. Maybe she'll be the next Jackie Evancho.

When Simon walked up to her and said something like 'I got 'cha,' I was sitting here thinking 'Good job, Simon.  You just pranked a 9 year old.'  Dolt.

I found a lot of the acts just meh.  I liked the "baby-faced" comedian though.   Many others I fast-forwarded through.

A pretty blah audition round.

The comic was pretty good. This week's Sob Story Singer was just okay.

The archery act was lame. The arrows were landing so far from the daughter that any semi-experienced amateur archer could safely hit from that distance.

The golden buzzer at the end is so formulaic now that it defeats all the intention of it being a big exciting surprise. (We know it's planned and all, but c'mon, make it easier for us to play along.) Last five minutes of the show? Little girl singer or Sob Story Singer? One judge pretending to not like the performance? Cue the confetti. Yawn.....

I liked the baby-faced comedian and the troll song, but the rest of the acts were pretty forgettable. That giant dance crew? Too many, too cluttered, too ordinary.

There sure were a lot of mediocre yeses. Maybe this show needs to take a break; we seem to be at the very bottom of the talent barrel.

Half of them are from other countries, anyway. (As I am reminded any time I read more than six comments on any given post on the AGT facebook page. - "I thought it was America's got talent! Don't these people have a Got Talent show in their own country?" Inevitably followed by at least one "It's America's got talent, not Americans got talent!")

I'm just watching for a halfway decent act here and there, I don't care where they came from. They're getting fewer and farther between these days.

I thought she was cute and had a nice personality. I'm not an opera expert, but my mother listened to it, so I've heard my share. She wasn't a great opera singer by any stretch, and worse, that song she sang was terrible. An aria that people are familiar with would have been a better choice, but since she got the mega golden buzzer, I'm clearly wrong about that.

Me three.  What were they thinking?  They must know something we don’t.

While the father vocalist was ok and it was touching, I’m not sure why they brought out his children.

I agree with the general sentiment here. I found last night's offerings to be particularly dull. Wannabe Pete Davidson was probably the best part.

First act, the Twirler. I liked him. I'm all for whatever he wants to do. Golden Buzzer from me.

The Twitter Troll Singer got a no from me. And all of a sudden Simon likes original songs again, even if they aren't sung all that well.

The red-and-black dancers were just adequate. They modeled themselves after the Jabbawockeez, but you, kids, are no Jabbawockeez. Not sure you would pass auditions on World of Dance. But the costumes were nice so there's that.

Two-Face Singer was actually pretty good. And I liked Slinky John too. And Old Dancers ... aren't they on every season? Just one year older.

Simon gets all pissy at the one-name singer Donovan, but Simon don't you remember Donovan Leitch, he went by just Donovan too. And he was huge, HUGE I tell you, in the 60s. I went to one of his concerts after he wasn't famous anymore, and he was still The Best. Anyway, this Donovan was pretty good although a man singing falsetto isn't that big of a deal, is it Adam Levine? And now this week Howie likes Broadway. What a difference a week can make!

The Stunner break dancer ... so now break dancing was popular "too long ago." It's still not easy. Let's see you do some moves Simon and Howie.

The Apex guy with the winged trumpets went to a lot of work for a bad act. Plus judges had to have seen workers connecting those strings to the ceiling so the trumpets could fly around in circles. They reminded me of a flying pig I had once, hang it from the ceiling, turn it on and the pig would flap its wings and fly ... in a circle. I did wonder how he was rolling around on one wheel though. I could have watched him do more of that.

Biggest laugh of the night ... Heidi asks the audience that isn't there how she should vote!

Oh, man, the Kobe Dead Wife singer ... just go ahead and advance yourself to the next round. Although it was nice to find out other people died in that crash besides Kobe and his daughter. All the newscasts called them were "some others."

Now we get The Chief comedian who is wearing a Jabbawockeez mask, no doubt borrowed from the red-and-black Jabbawockeez-fan dancers. My guess is he was one of the show's PAs sent on stage to kill some time. I'd totally bet cash on that.

Cam or Stan or whatever the Tampa guy's name was made jokes about wine and had everyone cracking up ... except me. Maybe I was just having a not-so-funny night. What I really wanted to know is why was Simon reading off of a big piece of white paper while he was talking to Cam/Stan.

Now a little girl singer comes out in a white flowing gown. Name = Breeze. Oh wait, she's adopted so that means she makes it through because all adopted kids are traumatized and they are the only kids who are shy. Yeah, right. Turns out she's a dancer. A little girl dancer who does a lot of HMVs. Eh. Not a fan of that.

Twirling women, hoop woman and female poppers got sort of a WWA treatment. And Simon says popping is for men. Okay, sexist much Simon? (Answer: Yes, ALL THE TIME.)

Arrow mom - Eh. Reminded me of archery class in high school. I could do that act, plus my face isn't loaded with fillers and nips and tucks.

The Charros made me laugh. Then Terry had to ruin it all at the end. Put your freaking shirt back on Terry, it's not about you. Although I guess this show really is. They just bring on random acts to connect the scenes of the real stars of this show, The Judges.

Victory the 9-year-old singer had the best line of the night, she'd used the million to buy Simon a rainbow glitter shirt because he dresses in boring clothes all the time. You go girl, that made me root for you to win. Except when she started singing I realized I couldn't listen to her for very long. Less is WAY more in her case.

Speaking of Simon's clothes, he had on a black t-shirt at the beginning and a black dress shirt at the end. GASP! Do you think maybe perhaps these acts are edited together in different orders? OMG! Say it ain't so!

Last chance for Free Tots everyone. Hope y'all got yours.

Exactly. I'd think we all know why they brought out his children. But his story package made me cry, so... (probably because it's a story that was in the news; most of the sob stories aren't well known incidents like this was, even if the "others" on the helicopter didn't get much attention).

In the past they've often mixed acts from (apparently) different audition sessions; you'd see the judges' clothes go back and forth between 2-3 outfits over the two hours.

My interest meter for AGT used to be right at "10" a number of years ago.  It has slowly been declining every year since then.  Now, it's about an 8.

My takes on Tuesdays show....

. Damn! I thought the auditions were over.

. The red and black dance group weren't that exciting. I gave them a no.

. The mariachis were all over the place with their performance.  They won't last long.

. The baby faced comedian wasn't very funny, but I did giggle at one point.  Or maybe I cleared my throat.  Oh, who knows?

. The singer who lost his wife on the helicopter crash was indeed sad, but let's be honest, he has an average voice.

. An issue I have with solo dancers like the 13 year girl is I don't know anything about dancing, especially that kind of dance.  I'm guessing the judges don't either.  So it is difficult to feel or say anything about it.  I thought I've seen this performance before many times, but it's a little girl and how can the judges tell her no?

. The GB opera singer is no Jackie Evancho, and her sheep like sound of a voice didn't help either.

. If I was a judge, I would've sent every single act that performed home!

I think AGT should look at their old shows, you know, when AGT was really, really good, and try to get back to what made the show popular!

The most interesting thing on Tuesday's sixth audition was the pigeon who apparently got trapped in the building for a time.  OK, so that's an exaggeration, but only slightly.  I liked the first act baton twirler guy (extra points from me for song choice), then the show went downhill from there.  The little girl dancer in the white costume would have gotten most people drunk if they played the drinking game at every one of her HMVs.  God, I hate that shit so much.  That crap was all over World of Dance which I stopped watching because of lame contemporary dancing girl acts like that, and JLo's ego and biases.  But I digress.

Sob Story Singer Dad was average in talent.  All the other sob stories and crying got on my nerves.

The young comedian made me laugh and I wouldn't mind seeing him and baton twirler again.  If I had to bring back a singer from this episode, it would be Troll Girl.

I guess it's not in the past (I never watched this before so wouldn't know). Just paid attention to Heidi and she had at least 5 different outfits through the show.

"Here's my va-jay-jay" -- coined because a lot of contemporary female dancers do leg lifts and spreads all the time.

I'm not a dancer, but know something about it, and the little girl dancer was not "all that." Decent, but nothing special, esp. since dancers can turn professional at 16 or 17, so being 13, she should be more advanced in her technique.

The little girl opera singer -- I always hate seeing young kids singing opera (or other music too advanced for them, emotionally as well as technically). I don't think she really understood what she was singing -- it sounded like mimicking to me. And it is the worst possible thing you can do with a child with a good voice -- have them sing stuff that is really too hard on their growing vocal chords, etc. It always makes me cringe when I see (and hear) young singers basically destroying their voices before they are even in their teens. (I studied voice and wasn't allowed to sing certain arias even in my early twenties, because my vocal teachers felt my voice wasn't mature enough. A nine year old had no business singing like that).

So are we giving up the fiction that this show is about finding a Vegas act?  I know of virtually no one who would pay money (especially in Vegas where options abound) so see a "poet," (Yes, I know he won.  I just don't believe there is a line of people looking to buy tickets to his headline show) a choir, an act based on a "surprise" or gimmick (which has already been revealed) or a lone contemporary dancer, regardless of age.  As 3 minutes in a variety type show, some of these acts would indeed be successful, (it might give people a chance to actually SEE their entire act rather that multiple reaction shots from other people) but I can't see any of them headlining a show.

Does anyone know if any of the AGT winners make it to Vegas, even at a small crummy casino? Yes to Terry Fater and Darcy Lynn, and Jackie Evancho has been on television and such. But Spoken-Word Guy from last season .... is he working anywhere. I mean, getting paid for his "talent"? I can imagine Prince Poppycock headlining a show and he got kicked off before his time. It would be interesting to know which acts are getting a show and which are not.

Although thinking about it, so many of these acts are already professionals working in circuses and theaters around the world so I guess I answered my own question.

First actual comedian on the show in two years.  Weak material, but very well delivered.

The kidlet dancer and soloist were not up to any reasonable professional performance standard.

The shock value of the Countertenor was high, indeed.  I do wonder if he really is legit, but he could be.  That's more than enough for this show.

Neither dance troupe impressed.  Of course, both moved on.

There's gonna be a large number of acts thinking they will see the AGT stage again who will get tarmac-ed or not even given a return plane ticket.  Anyone else not missing the inevitable danger act spin-off?  I truly hope they do not do some type of hand-off using an AGT ep, but I also want world peace.

That would require holding actual auditions again which in-turn would require the judges to put in full days of work. Not gonna happen. We are stuck with producers recruiting acts and scripted results.

That's the best we can hope for on AGT from a comedian.  Any groundbreaking comedy routines are being auditioned elsewhere.  We should be happy not to have to endure the sexy mama types who want to go home with Simon (or have Simon visit her trailer).

Forgot about the Countertenor; he was pretty impressive and a refreshing change from midget opera singers and coffee house hipsters.

It's also not good television anymore when it is a fait accompli that basically every act gets through, with four YES' even!!!! I'm not saying we go back to full on humiliation porn of a 4X act that is also reminiscent of the awful bad singers on American Idol in the early years. Just make things interesting again. Give us actual amateur acts and not producer plants or already known people like Josh Blue, Sklar Bros., or Bello Nock.

Like many other shows, it might have run it's course.  I've seen more acts that I don't like than ones that I will actually root for.  We don't get many acts that are truly unique like a Darci Lynne.   I would like to see a comedian win this thing, but he/she will have to bring the house down in order to that.

On a personal note, I kind of feel sorry for Howie.  Year after year women go on this show and just go ape over Simon.  I'm sure most of it is just kissing up to him, but think about how that makes Howie feel!  Poor guy!  He can't get any love from the ladies!  Could someone at least pretend to have a crush on him!  FWIW, I think he's a nice looking man.  YMMV.

I'm sure 99% of the kissing up to Simon is just kissing up to Simon because he's the boss.  It's Simon's show and he's executive producer.  Howie is probably relieved he isn't made to feel like beefcake.  He lets everyone know he's a happily married man without shoving it down our throats, and he seems genuine in that.  You mean you think Howie is jealous that Trailer Nasty wasn't angling for a special midnight visit at the trailer park from Howie?  😄

I totally get your point and agree with what you say. But thinking more deeply, I'm pretty sure those people are told to play up to Simon since he's the real star of this show after all. The acts are just doing what TPTB (meaning, Simon) tells them to do and say. It always creeps me when it happens since I find Simon completely unattractive and gross. I'd guess if any women flirted with Howie it would be edited out. But it would be refreshing to see.

Howie was on a Johnny Carson rerun this week and he was sporting a full head of curly hair. This was during his St. Elsewhere days. I was waiting for him to put a rubber glove over his head but he did not.

I understood the tactic here:  have her sing a less-known song, to cut down on comparisons by non-opera fans to versions they might like better.  Also, if she only has a few signature songs, singing one to get the GB cuts down on on the need for the need to have a deep catalog.  Whether or not a kid should have a deep catalog depends in large part on what you're comparing that kid to.

I hope she doesn't permanently damage her vocal cords, and I respect if she walks away rather than do that at some point.

As much as I admire her for her talent and ability to walk across that stage and belt out a song like that, I really dislike most opera music, so I hope she'll sing something different the next time! I wonder if she has another style of music that she likes.  Either way, she's a brave little girl!

Give us actual amateur acts and not producer plants or already known people like Josh Blue, Sklar Bros., or Bello Nock.

Funny you mentioned Bello Nock since I heard a commercial this morning for Bello and his daughter (she calls herself Danger Daughter or something like that). They are appearing at the Palace in Wisconsin Dells. Advertisement was on Chicago radio.

I visited a friend in Sauk City, years ago, and she took me up to the Dells, we rode a Duck Boat :) To get back on topic:  I agree with you that Simon looks terrible this year, with his baggy shorts, saggy T-shirts & black socks with shoes, sheesh...
