ScoobieDoobs April 24 Share April 24 (edited) What do ya bet our gal Audra will be up to speed by next week, in starting her biz? Even before she has a name for it, she’ll probably hire staff, have office space & be up & running. Why? Cuz she ain’t some lazy nepo baby — and of course, Vic wouldn’t tolerate what Billy is doing (as Jackie foolishly has) — babbling a name over & over, but doing zilch to actually starting a business. Just luv when the alcoholic ex-stripper looks down her snoot on others. Oh please, Nikki, go put your head under a faucet, hun cuz that monstrosity hair-don’t is hurtin’ our eyes. Also luved how Audra totally ignored Nikki’s snippy, snarky insults to her. The redo looks like a museum. Ick. Cold & charmless. Hey, Jackie, call Flo the insurance lady for an estimate to get the old stuff back! Wow, Cole shaved his face & finally doesn’t look like a homeless drug addict. Reminder that J. The set is still kind of junky, with too much "stuff" in the living room. But now we'll have to listen for weeks to all the Abbotts taking sides on whether they like the renovation or not. 3 1 1 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8644703

NinjaPenguins April 24 Share April 24 Wow. I can’t believe we’re still trotting out the soap opera cough of doom and for a fairly innocuous character too. Nikki is the embodiment of spring break in that she has zero class. For someone who has been a part of high society for decades, she is surprisingly boorish and lacking in manners. (Did I hear her highness call a certain cosmetics company ‘Glee-sahd’? Wtf.) Audra quite pleasantly did not give a fuck. Lol@ Kyle trying to shade her for not having a job when he couldn’t get hired as a chin strap tester in a bike helmet factory unless his father owned it. Double douche points for Kyle acting like barista is a job to be used as an insult. The Abbott makeover reveal: Big whoop. Joimiaroxeu April 24 Share April 24 Hey, it's Cole. He was looking refreshed. Oh, please. Why was Audra acting like she'd never seen the new old ranch before? Seems like every visitor will have to tongue-bathe Victor over how amazing! it is. 🙄🙄🙄 Nikki showed up just in time to put the kibosh on Audra's shady deal with Victor. Or try to, anyway. Victor mostly grinned in Nik's face because he could give less than a fcuk about her opinion. Cole gave Victor a copy of The Art of War. Yeesh, I'm sure the last thing TGVN needs is encouragement on viewing the world as enemies to be defeated. That's right, Kyle. Call Jack out on his misplaced tantrum about the renovation. I thought it was on the wall next to the archway by the front door, not on the wall next to the closed door nearer the couch. I need before and after pictures! Didn't Sharon when she lived there have a similar storyline which ended up with no demonstrable change besides new drapes. Getting rid of 50 years of dust and cobwebs and some fresh paint may have been all it took to brighten the place up. I too liked it as a tribute to Dina since the room seemed like a reminder of how the house looked before she left the family. There is something comforting about the house you grew up in or grandma's house staying relatively unchanged. But normally the kids move out and decorate their own homes in the style they prefer to live in today. Waldo13 April 24 Share April 24 Hey Diane, having Claire/Eve move in with Kyle is bad enough but living in the Abbott House would be a bridge too far for Victor. Kyle, I hear Sharon has an apartment to rent 😉. Jack get over yourself. Change is good for the soul. Brava Diane, brava. You did an excellent job in “refurbishing” Abbott Manor. From a dusty old mausoleum to a more traditional mausoleum 😜. Beside the bridge of locks in Serbia, there is a more famous one over the River Seine in Paris. Although today, attaching a lock to the bridge is illegal. As another aside, if Amy is part of a clinical trial for her cancer, there is no cost to the patient. NinjaPenguins April 26 Share April 26 We’re still doing this with Chelsea and Adam? Why? For the love of all that is holy in this world, why? Not only must we suffer their living together glurge and their co-parenting glurge, but now we’re getting their workplace glurge as the cherry on the shit sundae. All Adam does is browbeat Chelsea into doing what he wants, which is exactly what she was supposedly worried about and people warned her about. It’s like they’re on a separate show, isolated from the rest of the canvas and stuck up each other’s backside. The proposal near miss was not cute, and the fools who applauded it should be pelted with breadsticks. Did Lily join the Genoa City PD? She sure has no qualms about interrogating people in very blunt fashion. Instead of hassling Audra, maybe Lily could tour the town asking other people the tough questions that need to be asked. “Hey, Billy, what are we more likely to see first? A unicorn that poops delicious macarons or Abbott Communications’ launch?” I’m just completely underwhelmed by Diane’s makeover. That’s just my own personal taste though. Vicks, Lils, Sharon, Chelsea & of course Claire all dress so meh & forgettable. Diane has a nice style, if maybe too tasteful, safe, sensible, and somewhat dull. And Dumber? Eh, Idk or care, can’t get past her pouts. Nope, as I said before, Audra is the only one on this show worth watching . . . 3 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8645996

[To be fair, that should really be saved for Phylllthy's place, if she ever gets one.] I do like this makeover, however. It opens up the room towards a fireplace (that might even work!) No longer will everyone have to stand behind the couch to carry on a conversation/argument/plot reveal/exposition or to fix a drink being flanked by those maniacal pixies holding crystal balls. The bookcases are a nice add and yay, I get to see actual wooden flooring. And there isn't a wall of flowers on the fireplace. Can't say I was excited about the portrait or its backstory. I'd rather have an 80 inch flat screen up there. 4 1 3 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646227

There was Lola from Little Havana, Miami who had a perfectly nice food truck going until Kyle married her and got her to chef at Society (that Abbey was opening). Suffice to say it was a short marriage-Summer gave a piece of liver and got a ham sandwich in return. Oooh okay yeah I knew Pomp married Lola but just didn’t make the connection since the restaurant has been Abby’s forever. 4 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646239
ScoobieDoobs April 26 Share April 26 Why the heck was Jackie going all nuts over this redo, centered around a portrait of the mother who deserted the family? Seriously, WTF? And ignoring the op to showcase a portrait of the patriarch of the family, without whom they wouldn’t have their fancy lifestyle? I don’t get this at all. Never woulda happened in a zillion years with Vic or Katherine. And that pink couch, that pink couch, that pink couch! C’mon, Diane, what were you thinking with that, hun? She wanted to know so badly if Jackie wanted to change anything & then got super defensive when he said the couch was feminine. That’s not really the prob with it. That sofa will attract dirt & dust & be impossible to clean, and will look as dreary & shitty as the rest of the redo in no time. Meh, build up to a redo that wasn’t much of a redo. Way, way, way TMI on The Weasel & The Cryer. Wait, are we supposed to care about ANYTHING related to these bores? Uh, no! Sheesh, Lils, you really have become so humorless & judgey — or were ya always this way? 4 1 1 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646251

Joimiaroxeu April 26 Share April 26 (edited) Hmm, seems to me a white fireplace will show smoke stains more than the old mahogany one. <shrugs> Chelsea's hair. It's a different color almost every time she reappears. Yesterday was 1970s Cher, to match the b&w-striped dress and Adam's polo shirt. Sure. I was glad Diane replaced the side chair next to the sofa though. I never understood why the Abbotts would continue to sit on the place where they watched Dina die. Holey moley, what did Lily eat for breakfast, a bowl of nails? She better step off Audra's @$$ before Audra pulls her hands out of her goofy sleeves and introduces her claws to Lily's face. Diane & Jack: but Kyle! You can't move out now! Look at all the remodeling! Kyle: I didn't ask you to do any of this. Diane & Jack: but Claire will love it! Harrison too! Joi: meh, Harrison only cares about when he'll eat another chocolate chip muffin. Claire will be polite no matter how she truly feels. Diane & Jack: do we look like we need your opinion? The World: actually... Edited April 26 by Joimiaroxeu 9 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646441

Yeah, I saw that, but my point is, why have Dina the focal point of this redo and the Abbott home . . . & NOTHING of John Abbott anywhere? Anywhere? And then we see zillions of flashbacks of Jackie fondly remembering his father. Er, huh? Yeah, I think they came to some level of forgiveness for Dina abandoning the family, but to feature ANYTHING of Dina, while completely ignoring the patriarch of the family makes absolutely no sense. And we’ve seen portraits of Vic & Katherine, yet nothing of John Abbott. Makes me wonder why . . . 2 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646539
bayviewbubba April 27 Share April 27 Opportunity missed- when Diane asked Jack if there was anything that should be changed. Yeah, yeah, the portrait had a back story but Jack should have said he'd rather see a picture of dear old Dad there. Since nobody had ever seen the lady pic nobody would ever miss it. Stash it in the dining room or in the kitchen with Mrs. Martinez. 1 1 1 1 5 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646603
bayviewbubba April 27 Share April 27 Another thought- The vampire's portrait is in his office, not at home. Couldn't Jack do the same for his father? All we ever get are old B/W photos sitting around every once in a while. 3 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646679
ASpring1900 April 27 Share April 27 Chiming in to say I'm not impressed with the updated Abbott house. It used to look like a museum... and it still looks like a museum. I suppose I'd have been surprised if they had gone for a modern style, as old fart Jack would have absolutely abhorred that. 5 2 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646765
ByaNose April 27 Share April 27 The new Abbott living looks nice and a little more updated. Unfortunately, they now have a hideous orange couch that looks like it’s from the 70’s and later found at a garage sale in the 90’s. I did notice they screwed Traci all over again. On the fireplace mantle there was a picture of Dina and there was a group shot of John, Ashley & Jack. Traci can’t catch a break. 1 1 3 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/107814-getting-to-genoa-you-all-over-again-yr-daily-chat/page/483/#findComment-8646810
