Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership and Fashion. For Lauren? Were the voters all blind? I think most of time she dresses like she's turning tricks in the executive lounge at the airport.

Fen's fella Trey is très adorable. Such a great smile.

Hotel manager Crystal was hovering in the background and she was wearing her hair down instead of in her usual chignon. Haters say what? 🥳

Now it makes more sense to me why Lauren and Jack are friends. She and he were both essentially abandoned by the women who birthed them and then decided they wanted no part of parenting or domestic life.

Hey, it's Paul. At least DD will get some royalties for those old scenes, hah, hah. And Lauren said Paul is the current chief of police so TPTB haven't opted to kill him off. Yet. 😏

Mary Williams was an OG Old Bat. Fun times.

Yo, B&B, how about you keep your trash over in your own yard? Ugh. But how is it Lauren still doesn't know that psycho is alive? You'd think Eric Forrester would've mentioned it since I imagine they stay in touch.

Lauren and Jill turning out to be sisters was not a successful plot twist IMO. It made for a bit of short term drama but in the long run it's been barely noticeable that they're siblings.

Phyllis. Meh. And WTF was that weird bundle of cloth hanging off the shoulder of her dress? Good color for her though, I thought.

AFAIC Lauren and Michael are the real deal as far as long-term Y&R couples are concerned. Unlike Victor and Nikki, an ego-driven abuser and his perpetual codependent victim. Yeah I said it, come at me Mr. & Mrs. Trash With Money. 😈

Young Paul Williams was so pretty and I liked seeing his mother again.

Gotta give it to Y&R, they aren’t afraid of showing historical clips.

Poor actors sitting there listening to an actor drone on, second time for 3 of them too IIRC, with Michael’s special ep.

Lauren’s mother, son and stepson being actors on DOOL is funny.

That neon green atrocity was something else.

I really don’t like being disrespectful since today is a tribute to Lauren but did TIIC have to make her wear that ugly dress. She looked more like an escort standing in the lobby than a successful business woman. Beside the dress being ugly, I color is all wrong for her hair color and complexion. Her gold accessories even made her complexion look more bronze but not as bad as Copperhead.

I’m wondering how long has Fen bin gay?  Did Summer turn Fen gay after she rejected him?  I absolutely have nothing against the gay community because I have 3 first cousins that are gay and a trans grandson. I’m glad to see a Fen and Trey as I am to see Mariah and Tessa.  When I heard that Fin was coming back, my first thought that he would try to rekindle a relationship with Summer as Tucker was doing with Ashley and Daniel is seeming to be doing with Lily.

Does everyone in GC have just about the same background story?  A terrible mother then raised by their wonderful father, being a troubled and revengeful in their early years.

The only one who this wouldn't apply to is Adam with the opposite situation. Throw in Nick and Victoria(I would like to really throw them), but Nikki was no June Cleaver.

I have to say Lauren's older storylines were great and soapy. The Shelia baby switch and psycho Shawn. No spoilers so they were shocking.

The Baldwins(Michael, Gloria, and Kevin) used to be comic relief even though they were villains/former villains. Kevin's father Tom partially explained why they were the way they were.

Since it was before my Y&R watching time, I didn’t realize that the actress who plays Sheila looked gooood back then. You learn something new every day.

Watching the show growing up, I had the BIGGEST crush on Heather Tom. I was in love with her. Crazy kids.

Oh, how I loved Paul and Lauren back in the day…. (Johnny and Chelsea on GL too). I was a little kid, so I don’t know why, but I do know that I held on to the dream of them reuniting way too long.

I believe the MWT have said that the Shelia storyline on BB doesn’t exist here. I hope they keep their word. I don’t watch scenes with her on there, the same way I skip MS scenes on YR.

Wondering the same. This can't be about Noah-- he's sort of a non-entity at this point. It's not obvious yet, but I suspect this is going to end up being about Chance. I think Show is still deciding whether to go with

Audra-Nate-Elena, or Audra-Chance-Sharon

I'm hoping for a Audra-Chance-Sharon triangle if I have to pick one. I kind of like Audra and it would give Sharon something to do rather than sling coffee and listen to the town (ie Nick) moan & groan about nothing. It would be fun to see those two spar. And more opportunities to look at Chance!

First, I had no idea that Lauren and Jill were half-sisters and didn't know that Lauren had another son.

I know Lauren is not for everyone but I consider her part of my entire Y&R memory trip. She was there on little Sony TV that my granny and grandmother watched daily in the 1980s & 1990s. No it didn’t have closed captioning but I knew CBS soaps were their daily watching routine.

I didn’t start really watching soaps religiously until after graduating high school then that summer… I watched a lot of soaps. The internet helped me to fill out history of each soaps so I caught up to the time. Admittedly, older people got a lot of choices in the afternoon then one by one it slips away from their daily ritual. OJ Simpson trial killed the soaps? Maybe but it was the changing nature of daily life that diminished the importance of daytime shows.

So… yes I would keep her only because she reminded me of good old days. It’s ok if you don’t like her character… it happens often ha but respectfully, I understand the importance of constructive criticisms & hope for better stories.

No matter how many idiotic stories they wrote and changed Jill's dna, I will always believe what I watched play out for years - Jill's ne'er-do-well father ran out on them and her wonderful hard working mother raised Jill and her two brothers.

Nikki's mother died before she was introduced on the show and Nikki killed her father when he tried to rape her.

Paul had two happily married loving parents, and two older brothers and a younger sister.

The Brooks family had happily married parents, then the mother died of cancer.

I don't think that Katherine was a terrible mother to Brock.

I think that both the Winters and the Barbers were happily married couples that had an over-achiever child and an under-achiever child. I don't really recall seeing either set of those parents very often or as featured players.

True, and here's a little more about Scotty and Dylan, Sheila was pregnant by Scott but miscarried, then faked the rest of her pregnancy, then bought the baby that she swapped with Lauren & Scott's baby.

Shelia kidnapped her mother and Lauren and they almost died in a fire. And Lauren's oldest son Scotty is related to Cricket because Scotty's father was her brother, and thanks goodness Cricket found out because she and Scott Sr. were dating.

It was odd that the clip with Phyllis was Phyllis-centric in a show honoring Lauren.  They should have kept it in all in the family and included a clip with Gloria instead.

Yes, Fen did bully a kid to the point of suicide.  I think Summer started it, and Fen picked it up to impress Summer.  They kind of down-played Lauren's bullying of Tracy here, but she did express her regrets for it while the Fen bullying story played put.

That whole story with Shawn was great.  I remember thinking Lauren was nuts for not finding him hotter than Paul, psycho-status notwithstanding.  Shawn and David Kimball were my two favorite villains on this show.

B&B had a Sheila-themed Halloween episode (I think it may have been her anniversary on that show).  Lauren was on that episode, toasting Sheila's (apparent) death with Eric Forrester.  I'm assuming Eric has alerted Lauren that their celebration was premature yet again.

Sheila swapped babies so she could have Scott's child.  But didn't Lauren lie and tell Scott that she'd had an affair as well and that her baby wasn't his?  Or did that happen after the swap had already taken place?

I enjoyed today's show a lot more than I expected to.  I thought the clips were well chosen.  It was nice seeing some folks before I started watching regularly and I thought Tracy Bregman did a good job, both today and in the past.

I wanted more Gloria, but then I always want more Gloria, even when she's not connected to the storyline being shown.

One thing that was really glaring to me was the storyline dictated age difference between Fen and his uncle Kevin and how obvious the sorasing with those two is when you've got them sharing a show about the past.  Fen wasn't even thought of, much less conceived back when Kevin was being all homicidal about his future sister-in-law and yet Show portrays him as barely on the other side of 30, with his nephew being almost the same age.

Phyllis stuck out like a sore, orange thumb, but then she always does.  Is she shellacking her teeth these days, because the glare off of them was blinding.

Hmm. I'm sorry but Kevin looks every inch of 40+ years-old to me. AFAIC the only way he's passing for still in his 30s is if he's supposed to be a 30+ year-old who's been rode hard and put up wet. 😏😏😏😉😉😉

why would Lauren sit down and tell all her dirty secrets to one of her employees? Seriously, WTAF?!?

Yeah, it was an iffy premise. I might could see it if Lauren was supposed to be a major celebrity and her life was pretty much out there in the public domain anyway. However, she was mentioning stuff that only she and the involved parties would know. Some of those people might not want their business to be discussed openly with strangers.

I think the writers seemed to have struggled to find a way to combine the revelation of Fen's boyfriend with Lauren doing a review of her life in the middle of a hotel lobby. Perhaps those events should've been handled separately.

The whole Fen and his boyfriend was so out of the blue, judging from Gloria's even wider than usual eyes, but maybe the rest of the family knew.  It just doesn't fit with his past history with Noah and Dummer, as someone mentioned above.  I think they overdid it with Trey being "her biggest fan" and a buyer in one of her stores.  Did he really need to know all of her life story right then and there?  He's going to be with Fen for a while right?  Maybe parse it out a bit.  I see they conveniently left out the Carmine Tapes.  =snicker=

Interesting Phyllis decided to wear a dress that when sitting, exposed her upper thighs, to present her son's project as a business venture. Phyllis knows it will be a great game because she is a gamer? Hey, I love to drink champagne, doesn't make me a vintner, or even a sommelier. Danny boy's "game" is still only in a conceptual phase, it is difficult to understand how businesses or entrepreneurs are wanting to sink millions into it at this stage, without even some basic prototype to make a decision. Do Lily or Nate simply explain to their board of directors that they want to dump millions into a project that is only in the "talking"  stage of development, because Danny or his mother told them he is a genius? BTW, In the scenes with Tucker, Danny and he looked to be about the same age. Speaking of age, the hair extensions clipped on Phyllis, Summer, Audra and Lily today looked rachet, unkempt, with  poorly trimmed ends, badly in need of some deep conditioning. I think the actress playing Diane is using her own clothing and hair stylists, it is the only logical explanation for her consistently looking so polished, when compared with the rest of the actresses. Oh, IMO the show's stylists need to give up on trying to make Audra look like a GC version of Kim Kardashian, apart from being derivative, that "look" peaked about 10 years ago. Jack is still wearing his Rolex in bed? Is he afraid that if he puts it on the night stand, and falls asleep, Diane might boost it and leave town?

I agree there are some similarities, mainly with the bodycon dresses on her voluptuous figure. However, IMO the K Klan have been the ones imitating women like Zuleyka Silver, whose physical attributes are mostly genetic as opposed to created by plastic surgeons. Latinas and Black women laid the groundwork decades ago but Y&R probably didn't really exploit the look until now.

I had secondhand embarrassment for Phyllis today.

My God, how embarrassing was her behavior in the meeting with Nate and Audra? Loved Audras line about her being the proud mother. Her pitch was a total bust. She said nothing except that her genius son had a great idea for a game. And Nate was intrigued? I am so happy Daniel found out and is furious with her. This was right after telling Tucker he didn't like people who meddled in other's business. Mommy dearest is Meddler in Chief

And Sally would rather live in GC than LA? I guess what they say is true: motherhood makes you brain dead.

Audra: Let us commence with the reciprocal ass kissing. Pucker up, buttercup.

Natey Nate Nate: Where has this mutual masturbation thing been all my life? Hot damn.

Nick: Ha ha. You can’t escape my attentions even in L.A., Sally. I’m old school. Third grade graduate in fact.

Nick: I like the Geico ads with the lizard. Tally ho, pip pip, wot?

Sally: I might need to move.

Nick: I’d support you, of course, because I’m a nice guy. You can tell by my paternalistic health advice that you never asked for.

Sally: I’m going to stay in Genoa City, naturally. I belong there. With you. No, there’s no reason my line delivery is best described as ‘depressive monotone’.

Billy: Hey! Nate and Audra discovered this whole blowing smoke up each other’s log flume thingy. Shall we?

Lily: For a few awkward minutes anyway. I really gotta get some posturing in with Tucker.

Billy: That’s fine. I need to shade Kyle and Summer about how suspicious the whole Stark arrest was. Save a good burn for Nate. I might do a little performative slagging of him in front of you later, so soften him up for me.

Tucker: Lol Phyllis. I just blew up your spot with Daniel.

Phyllis: Stay away from my son. If anyone is going to fuck up his career, it’s going to me.

Kyle (at breakfast): Dad will be devastated if Mom betrays him again. Fortunately he’ll never be the wiser when I do it.

Summer: Not this shit again. Colluding with my grandfather is so self-evidently a terrible idea that even my dumbass dad knows not to do it. My dad once licked a porcupine.

Kyle: How’d it taste?

So after reading here about Lauren's episode, I had to watch. Fen should have had his own coming out story. And, PAUL! Regarding Shawn, didn't he keep Lauren tied up and locked up in a tiny apartment?  And how does Lauren not know anything about Sheila reappearing at Steffy & Finn's wedding? But, then again the last time Sheila resurfaced in LA there was some comment alluding to her time in GC not being true. Anyways, was it just the clips they chose, or was it like Lauren's signature to always turn and walk out of the room? I'm thinking it was her brand. Aside from her awful ill-fitting dress, my only other complaint was that I could have used another clip or two of her and Michael. She's been on so long and used to have so much story, it's hard to cover everything in one episode. I did enjoy it, though.

Since making love to Jack, Diane is looking especially young and fresh. Her cloths are always age appropriate and she  is not trying ala Copperhead and Lauren to try to look young.

Copperhead presentation is nothing more than a “word salad”. I might have taken what Daniel said about Copperhead as a gamer wrong but how would she know about the game if she has only heard the concept without seeing it how it works?  The concept is only in Daniel’s mind but has it been brought to a workable model?

Audra calling Copperhead a “loose cannon” is the understatement of the month.

In Daniel’s conversation with Tucker it was mentioned that Heather was only his partner. I thought that they were married but it seems that Daniel is still married to Daisy.  Daniel wanted a divorce, in absentia, but I don’t know if he got one.

Another day and another terrible outfit. This time for Summer. As young as they are making Diane look, they seem to be making Summer look older and frumpier.  That color, I believe is dark tan, is all wrong for her hair color and complexion.

Huh, Phyllis and Audra had not met until today. Guess they've never run into one another at the Guava Phosphates.

So Jill canceled the big pitch meeting with Sally and Chloe. I'm surprised she granted Victor's favor since NE had intended to take over her company via the IPO. Bygones!

Sally does not seem to me entirely thrilled to have to schmooze Nick due to her pregnancy. Play messy games, win messy prizes, sweetie.

Jack's face was rather florid today. Too much B3 serum or too much spicy Society food, lol?

Phyllis has worn sapphire blue dresses two days in a row. I'm scared.

Heh, Audra was looking at Phyllis like, "She's actually trying to b.s. us. Good thing I have a BS degree in Bullsh!tery from the International School of Economics. Emphasis on 'con'."

Tucker moving in for the bidding war kill and Daniel swatting him back. Whee!

Didn't Sally pull this "I might have to move back to L.A." thing once before?  Whatever, something about the sheisty way she tested Nick's sincerity didn't sit right with me.

TMW you feel you have to explain to your adult son why you're boinking his father again. WTAF with that entire scene. Kyle looked like he'd been punched in the nads and Summer grimaced like she'd just smelled a fart.

Lily, Tucker couldn't give a hoot about you or Jill. Given the bad situation you're in with Devon, you may want to tread lightly around his daddy. Just sayin'.

YES, SALLY, Adam is the baby daddy you want and your wee boarder is reminding you. (And also telling you to get out of L.A.& before any of the Forresters or Spencers or Logans see you.😱)

Wow, look at Billy running around trying to kick a$$ and take names. My eyes just rolled right out of my head.

Agreed--I've said all along that Diane knew how to dress and may have balked at the crap the producers wanted her to wear and put her foot down. She actually made shiny look classy today.  And she's not afraid to let the grey shine thru.  Her character may be a manipulative bitch, but she looks great doing it!

Does anyone else thing that Banana Breath is not all that exited about Sally being pregnant.  I know it’s a little early but Banana Breath only tells Sally how he will be there for her but for me, Banana Breath is giving Sally a non committal commitment.  I also get the feeling that Banana Breath is hoping for a miscarriage.  This just maybe my bias towards Banana Breath but I’m quite sure Adam, at this stage of their lives, would be more committed and would be a much better father.

I can imagine that little pea he calls a brain churning in his head about how is he going to explain this to his sister, mother, and especially his father.

Did I miss some big blow-up between Kyle and Adam?  I don't recall them crossing paths all the much, so Kyle's animosity towards him doesn't make much sense.

Someone mentioned upthread how nothing ever happens on this show, and if it does, it happens offscreen.  Today was the perfect example proving that.  It's all just circular talk.  The business stuff is the worst, so much talking without saying anything.  What was the point of Billy today?  Well, that question applies everyday, but especially today.  You could just pluck out all of his scenes and it wouldn't have changed anything.  It's really remarkable.

Yesterday's episode makes it all the more glaring.  Bill Bell's stories took a long loooong time to play out, but they were so intricate with lots of minutiae and you got a little piece of the puzzle every day.  This joker we have now drags out boring stories that go nowhere, and skuttles the ones that are interesting and replaces them with boring stories that go nowhere.

I wondered the same thing.  Like you say, he's pointless even on a good day, but yesterday, he was filler material.  What was that poignant memories segment he had with Lily, anyway?  They broke up like 2 days ago, so who thought it was time for a verbal "Remember when" encounter?

Filler material indeed.  Stuff him in a cushion somewhere.

I did enjoy Daniel's rapidly dawning realization that moving back to Genoa City might not have been the best way to hold on to his recently regainded sanity, and that hiring his mom means he hadn't hit bottom yet, but he sure has now.

What's with this "video game that'll change the world" thing anyway?  And what self-respecting person over the age of 8 would play something called "Saving Princess Lousia" anyway?

I would love it though, if Show had Victor giving up on chess and instead doing a role-playing video game.  He'd make a lovely Princess Louisa.

What a gaslighter Phyllis is! Beating her breast to Daniel about going behind his back to merch his game concept under the guise of only wanting "the best" for her son. Face it, Daniel, your mom is a bottom feeding hustler, and if she ever "works out"  anything for anybody, she will hijack all the credit for it. That black bra peeking out from under Audra's sheer blouse? Appropriate for a night out at a bar, not so much for the office, and the top of Victoria's dress is screaming poolside tiki hut party to me. It is amazing to watch Nick, Victor, Nikki and Victoria devote hours of their time minding everyone else's business (Adam, Tucker, Diane, Sally) instead of their own. Good thing about Chelsea listening to her therapist's advice about that podcast. I thought the reason Billy had walked away from his podcasts at C-W was hadn't he shared all the wisdom he felt he needed to? It is becoming clearer to me that had Chelsea not attempted suicide, Billy would have absolutely nothing going on, which really brings back to me a question I have asked before: Who is the most messed up here, Billy or Chelsea? I just hope if Billy ever puts the moves on Chelsea, she has developed enough self-esteem thru therapy to kick that idea to the curb too.

as someone who was not watching during the 80s and 90s, I thoroughly enjoyed the Lauren tribute show. The dress, not so much. The woman was supposedly being honored for contributions to fashion. Why was she wearing such a HIDEOUS dress? I didn’t mind the color so much, but the style? Yeah TEB Ana’s a kick ass body. So okay fine, put her in body hugging dresses. But can’t those dresses actually FIT her and be, oh I don’t know, fashionable?

the whole Fen is gay and here’s his boyfriend who also happens to work for fenmores was pretty heavy handed. I don’t recall so much as a conversation about him being gay. Now he just shows up and everyone is totes okay? I mean, not even a raised eyebrow that they’re just learning of his sexual orientation now? Although at least Michael was giving Trey a side-eye.I guess that’s the best we’re going to get…

I had to miss today’s episode because I’m at work. If you can call it work. There’s no one here polishing my apple, my mom hasn’t stopped in to bigfoot all over my projects and not a single bouffant has tried to sabotage me. I do have a co-worker with large hirsute nostrils, so I’m not missing out on my daily portion of Buttbiscuit.

I give the edge to Chelsea due to her rapey past. OTOH, Billy is ambulating emotional herpes, so I suppose we’re back to square one.

I would love it though, if Show had Victor giving up on chess and instead doing a role-playing video game

I thought everyone knew about Call of Doody.
