  1. I think you mean the facilitator or counselor or whatever they were calling her. The dean of admissions at the college said the counselor handed over the money directly and she didn't see anyone else. But she added that he should have known he didn't get accepted on his own. I assumed he was just a crooked attorney who did this kind of stuff a lot and he already had the shell companies in place.
  2. I don't remember the final episode of last season. Did it end with the Phoenix Foundation shutting down or is that something we found out after the fact? I vaguely remember him being mad at his dad for choosing to save Mac over other people, but have no recollection of everyone losing their job.
  3. I agree - a less combative approach would have been preferable to start with; its not like the couple conspired to steal his sperm and raise his child. It would have made me think more of bio dad if he had reached out before serving them but in terms of the story, I think they would have ended up in court anyway. Bio dad wasn't interested in joint custody (and neither was bio-mom). So if neither party will agree to share custody, court is where they would have ended up.
  4. True but whether or not they went the route they chose, they were still going to be intricately involved in each other lives because of Joseph. One couple would have been given sole custody but that doesn't mean the other couple wouldn't have been given visitation. It's not like the loser was going to disappear from Joseph's life. Also, custody arrangements can be challenged so just because one side was granted sole custody doesn't mean the other side couldn't petition again in the future. At the end of the day, noncustodial parent was still going to be around and those couples were still going to be involved with each other.
  5. I wasn't sure where to post this question but decided this episode discussion was more appropriate than episode 1. Does anyone have any idea who the folks were that had baby Yoda in the beginning? They killed all the previous bounty hunters that came looking for the Child. Were they keeping him safe or just keeping him for their own nefarious reasons. I know they are all dead but wouldn't it make sense to go back to search for some answers about where Baby Yoda came from? It seems like that would be the most likely place to find at least a clue.
  6. It was a very quick line so it was easy to miss but Dean said something like "With that many monsters in one place, human bodies will be dropping". They didn't go because monsters were killing monsters, they went because they thought humans would be getting killed too just because of the high concentration of monsters.
  7. It was the first episode of this season. The show went along as normal but the last scene was a couple out in a field and she had been telling him the story of this case. She made some reference to her dad and Uncle Benny and you hear Bull's voice call out from the house for them to come inside for dinner or something like that. It was just a one-off scene and there hasn't been anything else like it in any of the other episodes but it certainly indicated that Bull was having a daughter who lived to at least young adulthood.
  8. I suppose that is possible but we did have the episode earlier in the season where Bull's grown daughter is recounting a case to her boyfriend.
  9. They don't always have an excuse, but on this episode they said Quinn was at a deposition. Then when Tani showed up at Steve's, he said he didn't think Quinn was coming over after her deposition.
  10. I like to think that if someone said they saw Nikolas chained up somewhere, she might be more willing to believe that. I'm choosing to believe that she can't imagine that if Nikolas is alive and free that he would let Spenser (or her) continue to believe he was dead. When Laura, Lucky and Jake came back from the dead, they had been held captive and didn't just choose to not tell people.
  11. I haven't been watching - is anyone willing to explain to me how Ava got the upper hand? Did she find out about Dev's background?
  12. If she is 40, she was born in 1979. NKOTB had their first #1 in 1988/89. She would only have been 9 or 10. I don't think its that big of a stretch. Deliah and her girl crush on Anna was giving me second hand embarrassment. I did love the end when Michelle and Anna bonded over skipping the run to have brunch. I also enjoyed Forrest and Ben's entrance to the party.
  13. I'm thankful they seem to be backing away from a Mandy/Jason romance. I would have sworn in the first season that's where they were going and I am glad they seem to have decided against that. I'm hopeful that this represents the end of the Sonny/Lisa drama. Every time the dog is in jeopardy, my husband and I both tell the tv they better not do anything to hurt Cerberus so we also appreciated Clay's joke to Sonny that they were only trying to save the dog.
  14. I didn't see the scene but if I remember correctly, Tracy wasn't very nice to Emily or AJ. She wasn't very nice to a lot of people (I loved Tracy but she wasn't someone you would describe as nice). So while I don't think Tracy had anything against Liz, Liz probably has been witness to a lot of times Tracy wasn't nice to people that Liz cared about. But even more so, I think they are trying to drive home the point that Brooklyn is the new Tracy and the writers aren't being subtle.
  15. He was a cute enough kid based on physical appearance but my younger self hated Mikey Webber. I don't even remember why except that I thought he was incredibly annoying. To be fair, I was only 14 or so, so I myself was probably incredibly annoying at that stage. 🙂
  16. I think the issue with using the same set up as they did with Eleanor is that they are supposed to prove that people can change when there isn't anything in it for them. Its easier to change when you know something good is in it for you - e.g., staying in the good place and not going to the bad place. They created an issue (which they acknowledged) by telling Brent that there is a better place he could get to. Michael and Eleanor specifically said that this was just an interim solution because he would be improving for selfish reasons but they at least needed to get the ball rolling and this was the only way they could see to do it. He initially didn't want anything to do with the group so they needed to find a way to get Brent to spend time with the others so he could eventually start improving for non-selfish reasons. Since this is the last season, does it really matter? Not that I want them to lose a bunch of viewers but it does seem less risky to alienate some viewers if you aren't going to be around much longer.
  17. I think it was a pet supply shop - I believe those were dog treats on the counter and it tied in with the fact that she was a dog walker for the rich guy. Regarding her testimony, this was a civil trial - not a criminal trial. He wasn't going to jail as a result of this case and civil cases have lower threshold for burden of proof. They just needed to convince half the jury that he assaulted her. When you have another person testify that he also raped her, it makes the people more open to believing her raped the dancer.
  18. He did. She went to rehab and reached out to him. It looked like she was interested in getting back together but he decided that wasn't a good idea. He wished her well and that's the last we've seen of her. I agree. I made a similar comment to my husband last night. I said I did not like new TO but I didn't like Bradford at the beginning either and that changed, so maybe this will too.
  19. I know why he didn't (because it would limit story potential) but one of the only things I appreciated about Franco was his stand against procreating. I thought it made sense and if that was his position, why wouldn't he get a vasectomy? From a character perspective, it makes no sense that he didn't do that. Not having a child was something he felt strongly about (and it ended his relationship with Nina) and if he had the vasectomy then it is never an issue going forward.
  20. I could tell it was going to be either Sophie or Trevin - and either was a good choice in my opinion. I think if Sophie's lime curd had been set and not dissolved into the cake, she might have won. They seemed impressed by the different things she baked and by her cookie. I enjoyed both of them each week. I think Tarek is a good kid who baked some really great tasting treats but needs to spend more time on his decorating. I feel for him - in my family, my mom cooked wonderful food but presentation was never a priority and I cook the same way. I'm just not good at making things look pretty.
  21. The difference is that Liz fell for and pursued a relationship with Jake Doe before she knew he was "Jason". Can't defend her behavior once she found out but she did not initially know what was going on. Kim doesn't have the same excuse.
  22. The judges kept saying she should have poked more holes in the cake but that would not have addressed her real issue - the pastry cream was too thick. While Brooke was putting it on her cake, Valerie even commented that she thought it was too thick and might not work well. Since she saw the real problem and made a comment to Duff at the time it was happening, why not explain that to Brooke during the judging so she could at least learn what to do differently? I thought it did a disservice to Brooke to make her think things could have turned out differently if she had just poked more holes in her cake.
  23. I would agree if no one saw the body but the CSI team was all over the car until Sherlock called them back because he knew the car was about to blow up. I believe the CSI guys would have taken all sorts of pictures when they first got on scene. Unless Morland's face had been blown off by the bullets, it should be pretty obvious in the photos whether or not that was Morland. Sadly, I think he's dead and the only reason we didn't see the body was because they didn't want to pay the actor. I think the fact that Sherlock has not expressed any uncertainty conveys that he has seen enough evidence to believe Morland was killed.
  24. Two parts of last night that made me smile: First was the boy (still don't know names yet) listing off all the lemon items he liked. It made me think of Forrest Gump where Bubba lists off all the things with shrimp. Second was where another boy was trying to juice his lime without slicing it in half. The little girl's reaction "Seriously?" was pretty funny.
  25. So if American buttercream is a very sweet frosting, then didn't the kids execute it correctly? I feel like the better response from Valerie would have been, "I'm not a fan of buttercream because I find it too sweet but the texture of the frosting was good" or something along those lines.
