  1. I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing - is Gary Cole rumored to be joining NCIS? Also, I might have been multi-tasking while watching so I have a question that might be obvious, but here goes: Blonde drug guy (Lonnie) was dating grocery delivery girl that had been missing for two weeks and the elderly couple was worried about her. She was the body that was pulled from the lake and was a victim of the serial killer, correct? If so, then who was the young lady that hit Lonnie with the flashlight when NCIS was arresting the drug gang? Just some mysterious girl that Lonnie brought along? I thought maybe she was the grocery delivery girl but was then confused since I thought she was the body in the water.
  2. That's really nice to hear. Not sure why TPTB think we need the false drama.
  3. I agree - I am sure it is absolutely more impressive in person and not having live judges probably does have an impact. As someone who did not enjoy the animosity between Buddy and Duff in the previous seasons, this season was more enjoyable to watch. Fake or not, if there are additional seasons, I hope the tone stays the same.
  4. It has the face the cameras - that's how the judges are seeing it. I guess there would be the tv camera and a "computer camera" for lack of a better word - whatever camera they are using to connect to the judges. I assume when the camera zooms in, the judges are seeing the details just like the TV audience.
  5. Hi - US viewer here. Bryan has been on HGTV (or DIY) in the US off and on for at least 10 years or so. The first program I remember was where Bryan was called in by an exasperated family member who was tired of living with an incomplete home renovation project. Bryan would surprise the DIYer and then help him/her finish the project. Then there was the program where he and Adam renovated Bryan and Sarah's small house. Then the lake house build. Both of those were limited series about that specific project - so one and done. The second ongoing show that I remember Bryan in was where home owners had two projects they wanted done but only the budget for one. Bryan would come in and review both options and then decide which project to do. The homeowners would find out which project he chose once it was finished. Sarah was not involved in either of the series but she did appear in both specials where their house and the lake property were completed. But Renovation Island is the first show in the US that featured both of them working together. I have enjoyed Renovation Island - the island and the water looks absolutely beautiful. Based on the prices, it is unlikely I will ever get to visit.
  6. I believe a good portion of the first floor is actually garage. As I understand, in addition to the garage, there is one bedroom and bathroom down there that wasn't shown. So, unless your room is on the first floor, you need to go upstairs for all of the other living space. So, kitchen, dining area and family area plus 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths are upstairs. In the DC area, town houses are common and often when the town house has a garage, it is basically the first floor. Then there are generally two more floors on top of the garage, so you walk upstairs to the main living area on the 2nd floor and the bedrooms on the 3rd. But I've never seen such a design in a single family home although we do have some split level homes here where you walk into a foyer and either go up or down stairs to get to the living space. I thought they could have put more living space on the lower level and kept the bedrooms all on the same level.
  7. I totally agree with you. I was with Corey on "Team Change It" for the outside. I know Corey's big complaint was the color but I didn't like any of it. Mina said that they did different colors since the front was so flat. Since they rebuilt from scratch, why did she build it so flat - couldn't she have added some dimensionality to the house? Even putting shutters on the windows would have helped. Then, I thought the piece of marble behind the sink would have looked better if it had been the same width as the sink. Having it be smaller??(or was it wider???) than the sink threw off the symmetry. I don't always agree with the design choices but I didn't like much of anything on this house. I was super surprised when she said the couple put in an offer on the place. I was sure this was going to be one where it was still going to be on the market.
  8. I finally watched "the feast" episode and I agree, neither technically met the theme. But I did notice Ralph seems to be really over "giant food" or just making everything so big. While the donut and cupcake looked great, Duff's team output really was more impressive. Those vegetables really looks like they were edible.
  9. No kidding - me too. Regarding the Josh Groban show, I kept hoping they would put in one of those in-wall air conditioners. Having spent a few days in June helping clean out my in-laws LA garage, I can personally attest that it's hot in there - and we had the door open. Also, I wasn't amused by the way they made fun of the screen door. Maybe it helped with air flow through the house so they could cut down on air conditioning.
  10. If that was the end of the series, I guess they left in a good place. In retrospect, I think Arthur had to be dead - otherwise there were too many questions he would have had to answer - why did he let Sam stay in jail, why didn't he let Richie's mom know he was alive, did Richie's mom know about the kidnapping plan? I did not see the twist with Arthur coming - I wondered who the mysterious relative was that set up the kidnapping and whether we would ever find that out. I feel bad for Richie's mother - based on the story about the psychic, it sounds like she did not know what happened to Richie - that seems cruel. If there is a 3rd season, I would like for the Lisko parents to pay more attention to Izzy - I feel like she gets the short end of the stick a lot.
  11. In my area, in more recent years realtors have been including finished basements in the "finished living space" as in this house has 2900 sq feet of finished living space. For purposes of getting a mortgage, I think you have to list the square footage without the basement. At least I think that's the way it works in the DC area. The house was really large. I didn't think I was going to like the flooring on the ceiling but it looked fine in the end. I did think the cat walk was kind of wasted space. I would have preferred to have closed off at least one side and had another room upstairs.
  12. I knew as soon as the kid asked if Matt wanted to see his dad it was going to be Ritchie. I think the next episode is the season finale. I hope the spend the whole episode on Ritchie and really get questions answered. After Sam's dad died, I can see the air traffic control guy being afraid for his life. I can also see him being afraid for Ritchie if he somehow is the one who came across Ritchie after Ritchie escaped from the van. But what I really need for them to explain is how/why they let Sam stay in jail. As a kid, I can believe Ritchie didn't know but the other guy had to know. Does anyone know if there will be 3rd season? If not, I guess they've tied up a lot. Ritchie has been found, PopPop is dead, Strata has sort of been exposed. Frank is back on the police force.
  13. Does anyone know if the hosts are the ones to decide what they're cooking? I get the feeling that someone behind the scenes decides on the recipes and the hosts just demonstrate. If that's the case, I'll give it to Jeff for trying to sell the sh** out of potato chip potato salad. As someone who, 4 decades ago, put potato chips on her bologna sandwich, I am not offended by the idea of potato chips on potato salad but as others have said, you can't grind them to dust - you have to have big enough pieces to add crunch.
  14. I think he understands team chemistry. As he said in this episode, he believes Jamie is the turd in the punchbowl. If the team doesn't gel, it's hard to win.
  15. I feel a little bad for Lincoln for all the criticism he's getting. I don't know him and he may be as spoiled as the day is long (his family certainly has the means to do so) but he's also a little boy. What is he, 10? I think they said Charlotte just turned 13 and he appears several years younger than her. What little kid wants to give up things that he has been enjoying. He's had free run of the resort and has enjoyed it. Now he's being told he can't do a lot of the stuff that he's been doing. Most kids wouldn't be excited about that either. Its not like he laid down on the floor and threw a temper tantrum - he was asked how he felt about it and he said he didn't like it. I can't blame him - I probably wouldn't either.
  16. I had the same thought but maybe Mary didn't kill Steve. My guess is that sister killed him and Mary is helping her cover it up because sister clearly has issues. But I am really tired of Ronald and his taser. I wish someone would just knock it out of his hands or kick him in the groin and then pick up the taser and turn it on him. I am ready for Ronald to be done.
  17. No they did not. It was bad enough when it sounded like they were just being slow investigating her claim but when it was revealed that multiple women had complained, it was inexcusable. I felt bad for the girl and her situation but it doesn't give her the right to murder the guy - no matter how much of an asshole he was.
  18. Did anyone understand why Naima had a giant wad of money in her purse? I'm pretty sure she controls the finances in that house so if she was moving money to a new account for her and the kids, why wouldn't she just do that electronically? Why would you ever have that much cash in your purse?
  19. If the sister can be believed, John Wayne was at the cabin with Rand. She told Blake that both of them were there that night - she saw them. My guess is the John Wayne was well aware of the "moral turpitude" clause in the father's will and he spiked the whiskey and let Rand assault Rosie to frame Blake so Blake would be disinherited and he and Rand could continue what ever they're up to on the ranch.
  20. I don't think they actually hacked his phone (this time - not saying they don't do it at other times). They were reviewing phone records (I don't know if that is illegal or not) because Danny or Taylor said it was impossible to see the text messages just looking at the phone records. I believe Danni mentioned something about waiting on a subpoena for access to his phone so they could actually read the texts. It sounded like, at least this time, they played by the rules.
  21. I agree - maybe I didn't make my point clearly. I think they just set up cameras at the cemetery on a hunch that he might visit his mother's grave. And since they didn't know for sure he would, I can understand that they didn't have someone watching the cemetery full time. But, once they found the footage of him sleeping there, wouldn't you assign someone to watch the place full time - or at least at night? It doesn't seem like they did that. It appears that the Marshall left a note for him to find that makes him think his mother is haunting him or something - it's a mind game. Instead of playing mind games, wouldn't you just grab him the next time he shows up at the cemetery?
  22. I didn't get that either. I can understand that they may not have been monitoring the cemetery full time but once you pulled footage of him sleeping at his mother's grave, wouldn't you have assigned someone to watch the cemetery at all times and then just nab him when he shows up? What's the point of leaving a note that is supposed to make him think his dead mother is still hanging around. I have 3 thoughts about the cake. 1 - it's his mother (I agree he left her corpse behind because I think the policy identified the remains after it blew up) so this would be a mannequin he dressed up like her; 2 - it's a mannequin he dressed up like Jerri since he is clearly still thinking about her or 3 its someone named Kelli. The marshal found "help me - Kelli" carved into the truck and I thought part of the writing on the cake said "kelli". Unless he abducted Kelli after he fled town, then I call bullshit on him having some girl stashed away. Since he stashed the 3 other girls in the abandoned barn why wouldn't this girl have been there too?
  23. Does anyone know if they knew about the cancellation before they finished filming? There are only two episodes left - will there be any type of closure or was it written as a season ender with the expectation that it would pick up in the fall? I don't need everything wrapped up in a bow but it would be nice if it didn't end with some cliff hanger that will never get resolved.
  24. I am hopeful that we won't. I think I've read the the producers??? (someone connected with the show) have said they won't pair them romantically. Also, there was the whole storyline in season one about how Lucy shouldn't date a fellow cop. And Bradford married one and it didn't go well for him. I am certain they will remain in each other's orbit since they are all leads in the show but I hope the relationship stays where it is now.
  25. I haven't seen this since it originally aired but I came away with a huge crush on Patrick Swayze. Even so, there is one line that my friend and I still bust out occasionally - it was over the top and we thought not delivered in a very good southern accent: If you EVER... touch Madelaine... AGAIN .... I will kill yew. I'm sure over the decades the way I hear it in my mind is way campier than it was if I were to watch it again but we thought it was so funny and it has stayed with us. We did love the miniseries though.
