One of my favorite commercials ever.

We had a fair amount of rain and wind first thing this morning, but I drove out of it far enough west that there is hardly a cloud in the sky. It was kind of cool, too -- there was a very sharp cut off between the clouds and the clear sky.

I had both the flu shot and the COVID shot on the same day last year, and had no problems. I consider having two vaccines at the same time to be the same or similar to having a multi-vaccine, such as the MMR or the TDaP. I'm not quite old enough for the RSV one, and my problem with the shingles one is that it's a series of two -- I have to plan ahead for the second one! Also, I still haven't asked if it's contraindicated since I have some residual neuropathy from active shingles three years ago.

I didn't get FJ tonight. I thought of a bunch of composers, but never settled on any one of them, so I had nothing. Boo hiss. The only TS I got were sub flub, King Arthur, Matisse, and teeth.

I have an appointment to get my COVID vax on Monday. I'll get the flu shot at the same time.

It took me a few seconds to figure out FJ, but I did get it. I think "large vertebrae" led me to the correct response, but if you had asked me, I probably would have guessed those bones were found way before 1990. I also got the TS of Salisbury, Willie Nelson, Victorian, and Polaris.

Yes, but I also have bird feeders, and birds that nest in my yard, so no outside cats here, please! I love seeing the young birds learning what is food and what isn’t.

Instaget FJ for me tonight, probably because I did see the movie. Of course I second-guessed myself, but couldn't come up with anything else, so I stuck with my first instinct. I also got the TS of Peace Corps, Glass Menagerie, oats, York, and Cosi Fan Tutte. I don't remember any of these people either, but I am finding some of the clues to be familiar. This does not necessarily mean I remember the correct response, however!

My lawn mower is driving me insane. A few weeks ago, I couldn't get it to start. Turns out mice had gotten into it and gnawed on some wires, causing it to short out. I got that fixed, but today, it wouldn't turn off! When I finished with it, I released all the handles and levers as I usually do, and it just sat there and idled. The blade was even still turning. I could completely walk away from it! I finally realized I could close a valve on the fuel line and block that, and the stupid thing stopped when it couldn't get gas anymore. I don't know whether to try to get it fixed now or just wait until I take it for its usual Fall service in November. Separate, but related peeve -- the stupid mice getting into my shed and nesting in my lawnmower, plus the smelly stuff that's supposed to keep mice away, but apparently does not work!

I am REALLY looking forward to it. That trailer is something else.

If I'm out walking and pass a yard with a barking dog, I'll just talk to the dog and tell it what a good dog it is for scaring off intruders. Talking to the dog in a nice voice generally will calm it down enough to at least slack off the barking, if not actually be quiet. I once saw my gynecologist at the mall.

I actually got FJ last night! It was not an instaget, though -- I had to think first of where they still speak Spanish, and then which islands are still territories. I wrote it down, but wasn't confident until the correct response was revealed. I also got the TS of turkey, baobab, dog tired, rural free delivery, villi, and Boxing Day.

When I have the day off, but I forget to turn off my alarm. Which goes off at 5:30 am. Ugh

I laughed when he went off on the Godfather tangent.

I don't care enough about Hemingway to know he had multiple wives, so I did not get FJ. I didn't even have a guess. Oh well. I did get the TS of Captain Blood, National Gallery, and venerable. I also got Crazy Horse, after being terribly confused by Ken's acceptance of Chief Joseph! I know this thread will probably stay at or near the top, but can it be pinned there?

One of my friends timed her wedding -- she looked at her watch just before she started down the aisle, then again when she got back to the back of the church. It was 12 minutes.

Is he BK, too? I thought he was Arby's.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. I also got the TS of Ryman Auditorium, Argonne, and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Cold Steve Austin. I have never called aluminum foil tinfoil. I either call it aluminum foil or just foil. I was briefly confused by that clue!

We did not have stalls, either -- just a big square area with some shower heads.

Terrible game for me tonight. I did get Oslo, but thought they wanted both, and also thought that both had to start with the same first and last letter. I couldn't think of anything else that had four letters and started and ended with O. But I wrote down Oslo + ?, so I'm counting it! I was very distracted during the game -- just couldn't concentrate for some reason -- so no TS for me. I hope I'll do better tomorrow!
