I did not get FJ tonight. Presidents, like History, are not my strong suit, so I wasn't surprised that I couldn't come up with, well, anyone. But I did get the TS of red tape, magnetic tape, cloth/clot, carrots, and Grace.

Commercials That Annoy, Irritate or Outright Enrage
Browncoat replied to Maverick's topic in Commercials
This might actually have been helpful to me when I was younger. I can totally see an audience for it. Mind you, I am not currently that audience, but I can see it being useful information. -
Baked mac & cheese, or as we call it, macaroni pie.

Even in portrait mode, those are stunning photos.

After more thought, I still love it. I even love Phoebe's horrible jokes -- my favorite is the triangulate/obtuse one she tells Gary Grooberson (who named him?). I did not love, though, that the one kid's name is Podcast. Even if he named himself that, I'm not a fan. Too much like Short Round. One other possible nitpick -- was that whole mountain build by Ivo Shandor? There's nothing that looks like that (or like that Badlands-looking scenery) in Oklahoma. But those are minor quibbles. I will happily go see this again.

They do a food issue every year around this time, just like they do a money issue every year. I think there are other themed issues, too, but those are the ones that stick out to me.

Oh, man, this was the Ghostbusters I've been waiting for! I loved it so much. I loved all the Easter eggs (and I'm sure I missed some), and all the new stuff, too. And yep, I definitely teared up at the end -- and then again at the end of the credits with the post-credits scene. "When someone asks if you're a god, you say YES!" Loved loved loved seeing the originals back to help the newbies. McKenna Grace is remarkable.

3/5 for me this week.

I only got half of FJ tonight, but that half was an instaget. I feel like I should have known the other one, but just didn't. And I didn't get any TS, either. Not my best night.

When were you there, @dcalley? Was the dorm you reference Barrett? I never heard it called that, but the residents were referred to as "Barrett Babes".

S05.E07: An Introduction to Engineering and a Glob of Hair Gel

You might be surprised at how many parents of college students are that involved nowadays. -

I wondered if the teacher was tearing up Sheldon's assignment because it was early. There are instructors who mean it when they say as assignment is due on x day, and won't accept it before or after that date. -
I did not get FJ tonight, as I expected, given the category. I figured it was some war or the other, but had no idea which one. And the only TS I got were talc and muscular dystrophy.

I'd be mad if I didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

I'm not too mad at Dean. I mean, he shouldn't have said what he did, but an outburst was not unexpected. He'd just gone to Michael to be nice, then there Michael was, laughing along with the rest of the crowd. I suppose it was too much to ask that Michael have grown a little, and maybe even come to Dean's defense.

The house I rented in North Carolina did not come with a refrigerator or a stove. When I did the first walk-through to see if I liked it, it actually took me a while to figure out why the kitchen was so large. I think my brain could not compute that there were no major appliances. I bought a used fridge and stove and left them there when I moved out.

I think Aldo never really wanted Harris to move in. He just got caught up in the moment and felt he couldn’t get out of it. I suspect if she hadn’t jumped the gun, he’d put her off for some reason (most likely involving the kids) forever. My speculation is that Harris is going to go break into Louise’s condo and set up there. At least until it’s rented out or this storyline resolves with her coming back.

I got FJ tonight, but mostly because I couldn't think of another significant island. I was shocked when I was correct. The only TS I got that I wrote down were St. Elmo's Fire, and tarantella.

Books. Also unsmoked tobacco. I used to live in Durham, NC, and I loved that tobacco smell that permeated the air. Coffee -- after grinding the beans, but before it's brewed.

Trailers & New Movies: Coming Soon to a Cinema Near You!
Browncoat replied to nymusix's topic in Everything Else About Movies
Oh, good god, really? A fifth one? I agree, numbers three and four were terrible. I see no point in yet another one. I also agree that I will not pay any money to see it -- I have no desire to give any more of my money to that piece of shit Gibson. It still pisses me off that he turned out to be such an ass. Ruins a lot of really excellent movies from back in the day such as "The Year of Living Dangerously". Has Danny Glover signed on? -
Took me a few seconds for FJ, thinking about what film series could possibly have 25 films, then I did the V8 head slap, and said, of course! And fortunately chose the correct phrase. TS I got include hot tubs, pivot, and skiing. The contestants must have been overthinking the clue for skiing, or perhaps they've never skied, but "snowplow" gave it away for me.

Instaget FJ for me tonight. I also got the TS of sweep, garbage patch, and moray. Andrew was killing me with his slowness in picking the next clue tonight. He hasn't always been so slow, has he?
