  1. We could get our metal slinky to walk down two or three steps at most, but it was quite disappointing.
  2. Instaget FJ for me tonight. So much so that I questioned my response, but couldn't come up with anything better, so stuck with it. I also got the TS of Strait of Dover, Emily, and oleander. I had a roommate in college who wrote a paper on "A Rose for Emily" -- she titled it, "But He Never Rose For Emily." Bless her heart, she was unaware of the double entendre.
  3. No joy in FJ-ville for me tonight. I didn't even head to the right continent! I was trying to think of somewhere in Africa. Oh well. I did get anti-ballistic, Ben E. King, and "Let's Go Crazy". I was surprised and sad that "Let's Go Crazy" was a TS.
  4. We lived in Champaign-Urbana when I was four and five. I have only vague memories of living there, including walking home (with no adults!) from kindergarten.
  5. Catching up from last night, where FJ was an instaget for me. Also because the artist is the only one from Norway I could name, and that painting is the only one by him I could name. The only TS I got were Henry V, As You Like It, and Marquette. Am I the only one who said, "Awwww" when Julian said they'd named their son Alex? Same here. Such a great movie.
  6. Instead of “Heidi”, I shouted, “Vagina!”, then immediately realized those were monologues, not chronicles, and before I could switch gears and come up with the correct response, Mayim did.
  7. I knew who they were going for in FJ, but I could not dredge his name from my feeble brain, and just went with Copernicus, even though I knew it was wrong. Boo hiss. The only TS I got were United Way, serpentine, Tattoo, and Roberts. I was rooting for Chuck. I'm a little jealous of how great his hair looked.
  8. I could have done without the "It" clown in Calvin's truck jump scare (I'm not a fan of clowns!), but otherwise I really liked this episode. It was clear that everyone was in on the Emily prank, but I did love that they even included Miss Kim.
  9. I loved Doug's conversation with the bus driver. Actually, I just loved Douglas on the bus, even with Kemi.
  10. I immediately knew FJ had something to do with space, but it took me a few more seconds to come up with the correct response. I got it in the nick of time to write it down. I also got the TS of The Fly, people person, Brahmins, Utah (on a guess), and Mackinac Bridge. I was a little surprised that no one guessed The Fly or Utah.
  11. Heh. I read @supposebly's post, then apparently skipped the quoted part of @Mondrianyone's, leading me to briefly think that zinc lozenges were the way to get your cats out of the house in an emergency.
  12. Not everyone seems to be aware that we are all in this together, and that something should be done, like, yesterday, so good for the youngsters, reminding those who need it.
  13. I once asked someone, "Are you serious?" and Siri activated.
  14. I really enjoyed this episode. The ghosts watching "Ghostbusters" was a great touch. I also almost bought Sassapis' story. I hoped, though, that Samantha would blame faulty wiring -- they'd just put up the lights, after all, so it would be far more plausible than a lit cigarette. I don't know whether or not I want Jay to be able to see and communicate directly with the ghosts. I don't think I do just yet anyway. Maybe someday.
  15. I knew the song they were asking for in FJ immediately, but then spent a good 20 seconds trying to figure out what the exact title was. I knew it wasn't just "that Marines song", so I settled on Marine Hymn for lack of a better guess. Good for me! I do have to thank Gomer Pyle, though, for singing it repeatedly in his "off to the Marines" episode of The Andy Griffith Show. I also got the TS of John Quincy Adams, James Madison, Urberville, and pampas.
  16. Oh my god. Disgusting isn't a strong enough word for how disgusting those look. Even without the licorice, they look gross, but the licorice takes them to a whole new level of disgusting. I'm with you -- this pumpkin spice madness has gone way too far if crab cakes are being ruined by it.
  17. I think it was just as we saw it -- Georgie moved his bed out, then George helped Missy move (at halftime, of course), and while George and Missy were decorating, Sheldon moved his trains. Georgie could have left his mattress on end until Sheldon got the trains moved out.
  18. It was quite notable that George offered to help Georgie, and did help Missy (loved her "daddy's little girl" line), but no one helped Sheldon. Mind you, they've all been so focused on Sheldon for so long, that I'm sure it was a blow to him that he had to bend a little, but still. It might have been nice if someone had helped him move his trains. That had to take more than just science.
  19. I should have gotten Victor Frankenstein, but my twisted brain went to Froderick Frahnkensteen instead.
  20. Instaget FJ for me today. I was surprised that two contestants missed it. I guess they missed the “7000 miles” part of the clue? I also got the TS of Glenn Close, Casamigos, exoskeleton, and Alvin Ailey. @ams1001, I also thought Peter resembled Carl!
  21. I also said Elizabeth Bennett for FJ. I had better luck with the TS, getting shattered, persecution, Costa Rica, North Korea, and Faroe Islands. I would like to thank the M*A*S*H episode, "Follow the Yalu Brick Road" for help with the North Korea clue.
  22. Catching up from Tuesday -- I only got half of FJ. Frost was an instaget, but the only playwright I could come up with in time was Miller. I knew it wasn't right, but that's all I had. I did get the TS/missed DD of muffler, energy star, doldrums, and eight.
