Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
suomi replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Ohhh, I need to try that. I love egg salad but hate peeling eggs. Sometimes they don't even look like eggs anymore. -
Women have been saying some version of this forever: "At a certain age a woman must choose between her butt and her face." With variations, Mae West said it in the 1930s (fanny), Catherine Deneuve said it in the 1970s (bottom) and Jane Fonda said it about 15 years ago (ass). Off topic: Who remembers Catherine in this 1970s Chanel commercial which was quite racy for its time? (My ex and I used to say it before ordering in restaurants, using our really lousy French accents). "Ehyouuu don't 'ave to ask for eet, 'ee knows whaat you waant."

Typical Utah FUBAR. Hordes of people swarmed missionaries at the Salt Lake City airport when they returned from Foreign Countries because of the pandemic and that was tsk tsk'd but OMG motorists must fill out a travel form when entering Utah because they could be Others or Outsiders or Furriners. ... but motorists as much as 70 miles inside the border or people in their homes nowhere near the border kept getting the warning texts. One woman got 80 of them! One of the hot not spots noted in the article is in my town (Logan) 20 miles south of the Idaho border. So much for the usefulness of geo-fencing, Utah-style. 90% of vehicles entering Utah from Idaho are church members returning from buying lottery tickets. Idaho has very few cases of virus and wants lottery tickets declared non-essential so they can suspend selling them and Utahns will stay on their side of the border. It says a lot when a state is willing to forego beaucoup lottery income to force the residents of a neighboring theocracy to stay home where they belong. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/utah-suspends-border-text-alerts-after-problematic-weekend/ar-BB12zZhP?ocid=hplocalnews

Here's hoping there will be tons of online fodder to fuel the discussion. PS: Thank you, Galloway, for creating the thread.

I'm not fooled by Janelle and Christine just because they are good at hiding their arrogance and disdain with the keeping sweet face they show to the world. They tee hee and smile and do a golly gee act but their hearts are cold when it comes to anyone who isn't one of them. You see the mask slip if and when you realize you can see it.

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
suomi replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
My hell, Kody looks exactly like him!!! Even the same receding hairline! That is freaky. (Gently sets down phone, tiptoes away). -
The Doghouse. He knows where he belongs (and gloats because no one keeps him where he belongs).

My hell, is that grape juice? I hope not because that stuff is nearly indelible on most surfaces. Why would she arm a child who is prone to tantrums with that type of weapon? I lived through one of the longest nights of my life when my daughter was on a grape juice kick and, for the first time, we visited my husband's aunt in her white on white in white home. There was no talking little one out of her "joo" bottle and OMG that night she discovered she could hold it by the nipple and flip it around. When the ordeal was over I asked my husband why he hadn't warned me about her all-white home and he was like "Whut?" Gah.

Finally! After days and days of Treehouse Masters we finally get to watch an animal show on ... Animal Planet. I enjoyed re-watching Susan get the sexing result for Little Blue Penguin. (Female). When she says bird she sounds like Stands With Fist in Dances With Wolves.

One of the most infuriating things about Meri is that she takes incredible, unbelievable stands about something she has done and dares a person to perceive what they know to be the truth. "I don'ttt understand, I don'ttt know whattt you mean, where is thattt coming from, who is saying thattt," etc etc with a totally blank look on her face. GASLIGHTING to the nth degree! FFS at least have the ovaries to face the music, you greedy domineering cow. She and Kody are tied for my Cannot Stand Them award. Gah!

I agree with the flavor of your post in general terms but she has attracted these observations by very publicly conducting herself in decidedly unprofessional ways for a prolonged period of time and, adding insult to injury, seeks financial gain by setting herself up as THE arbiter of how professional women should look, act and behave in the workplace. I mean, sleeping with your married boss during numerous out of town trips and sharing a pied-a-terre for years while you are married and glorying in the resulting job security but then hectoring women about going for drinks after work with their co-workers deserves scrutiny, criticism and disdain.
-
The most recent mention was when Meri was asking for money for a down on the B&B. There was an anticipated sum of $20,000 (?) that turned out to be a loss after he conferred with his "partner." They were middlemen for some type of bulk product, I don't remember what it was but I'm wild-guessing it was something grift-y.

Kody used to work for YESCO, a Utah-based electric sign and digital billboard company that maintains some iconic neon signage in Vegas. In the olden days while Christine tended the first kidlets and Janelle worked a 40-hour week for the state of Utah, Meri took time off from her job at the trophy and engraving shop to travel with Kody when he worked his billboard territory (in Montana and Wyoming IIRC). On the road, no time clock, bullshitting the local yokels. Clearly those were his "I'm a closer" glory days with his entitled bottom bitch by his side, making it up as they went along. They both deserve every bit of shit they're going through now. Karma.

There were 6.6 million new unemployment claims last week, bringing the total for the last three weeks to just under 17 million. The distribution of the first round of government stimulus checks begins next week - and the frivolous View Your Deal chugs along as if things are fine. Barf. Somewhere, one person is responsible for that decision and whoever it is has absolutely no shame.

I want to like Kamala but her demeanor is off-putting. I think she has the right demeanor for a prosecutor (suspicious and analytical, attuned to nuances) but she scares me like my mom did when I was a tween and a teenager, knowing that she was always ready to pounce even when I wasn't doing anything wrong. I want to like Kamala so I've looked for another side beyond ready to rumble but I haven't picked up on one. If that makes sense. PS: I admire strong women so that isn't my issue.

I try to ration myself when it comes to agreeing with Joey but I think there is some merit to his "10 times more in reality." Large numbers of deaths are not being attributed to the virus when common sense and circumstance tell us that they should be. NYC normally has 20-25 death-in-home calls every day and the wide-ranging causes are determined by autopsy. Yesterday or the day before there were 279 death-in-home calls and that is a typical number lately. They cannot possibly autopsy or blood test all those bodies and those deaths currently are going into a different tally (respiratory distress, pneumonia, etc). The virus death tallies reflects those known to have the virus, whether they died in hospitals or at home. But TPTB are beginning to realize (and will soon have to admit) that the virus death tally is badly skewed.

Yep, Jim is very well connected through marriage. There are tons of articles online about Kathleen's parents. Big. Money. https://programs.wcs.org/press/News-Releases/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/6215/categoryId/123/WCSs-Bronx-Zoo-Holds-Groundbreaking-for-The-LaMattina-Wildlife-Ambassador-Center-and-the-Special-Care-Unit-of-the-Global-Center-for-Wildlife-Health.aspx

Yeah but her family is one of the driving forces behind the zoo so she will always be on the menu.

And, if we're counting down to D-Day I think we have to add the affair years in with the married years. Looking at it that way they are just about at or coming up on the 12-year itch.

A few years back WalMart sold and then recalled flip flops imported from China that were causing rashes with blisters exactly where they touched skin. After analyzing the material and investigating further it was determined that the flip flops were made from defective condoms. Common sense dictated a suspicion that the condoms were used, which China denied, but the rashes/blisters were caused by chemicals used to offset what the condoms may have contained. Packing peanuts are a choking hazard and also can cause a respiratory allergic reaction and who knows under what hellish conditions are they manufactured. So yay, Maddie, you're an idiot.

Kody and his Dark Queen have to string Meri along by not making overt moves until leaving the marriage/leaving the family becomes Meri's idea. They're too chickenshit to face the public and private blowback if they dump her so they have to wait for the lumpy orange barnacle to walk away. I would love to hear how it goes when they're deciding to say this or that to her and then are left stewing over it when nothing they say or do produces the desired result. I think the lengths that Kody went to during the last episode show how sick and tired he is of not being able to just kick Meri to the curb.

Books and documentaries about polygamy: Let's gather them here!
suomi replied to CouchTater's topic in Sister Wives
I think Christine hid from one of the women mentioned in this article. Kristyn is Christine's aunt. Kristyn Decker previously appeared on TLC’s Sister Wives in a university panel that asked former and current polygamists, including the Brown family and Kollene Snow from Lifetime’s Escaping Polygamy, to debate the ethics of plural marriage. https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/sister-wives-christine-browns-aunt-calls-the-brown-familys-religion-a-cult-system.html/ -
