  1. A bland reality TV show about polygamy was devastated by suicide. Was the child star’s trauma on clear display? Over 18 seasons Sister Wives has shifted from the mundane to tragic, and it’s left viewers wondering about their complicity https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/mar/20/sister-wives-death-tlc-reality-show-ethics
  2. He sounds like pure Utah man (or pure Intermountain West man) to me, with a cadence that comes from speaking in church regularly. The youngs in general sound like that less and less but David speaks like most of his generation and nearly all of his parents' generation. Tough times make for tough people, and grammar is not necessarily a priority.
  3. Meri Brown: Peace out, bitches! (A direct quote).
  4. Yep. There's a cash register where her heart should be.

  6. I don't think Robyn loves Kody the way Kody loves Kody.
  7. It was when they went camping in Big Bear over 4th of July. I remember it because I grew up in BB. It's 200 miles and 3.5 hours from Vegas where it was so hot that Christine tried to fry an egg on the sidewalk. Meri laid down the law behind a restaurant that was owned by friends of my parents. The ep aired on 10-30-2011.
  8. I'm digging the photo of Kody with the good white hair but where is the photo of an "aged" Robyn? Oh, wait.

  10. Kody says Robyn will lose respect for him if he abandons the other wives. He maneuvers around that by treating the other wives so poorly that they abandon him instead. Robyn takes the splintering of their cult so hard that Meri feels the need to console sad, broken Robyn over the loss of her sister wives. If anyone so much as hints that Robyn's hands are dirty she a) bristles and/or b) twists her ugly, downturned maw while hurling sarcasm. Janelle says she cannot accuse Kody of abuse or neglect. I guess Janelle forgot how Kody neglected and emotionally abused their younger daughter Savanah, and their sons Logan, Hunter, Garrison and Gabe. Kody remains untouched by the disintegration of his family. Remind me why I watch this show.
  11. Logan is a looker, very easy on the eyes, and he and Michelle are a cute couple. Plus, they are good people. Who is the other gal next to Janelle? Is she related to Michelle?
  12. "The Internal Revenue Service typically allows you to take a tax deduction for losses incurred in the operation of your business. However, if your business claims a net loss for too many years, or fails to meet other requirements, the IRS may classify it as a hobby, which would prevent you from claiming a loss related to the business or even claiming any expenses for the hobby due to the suspension of miscellaneous itemized deductions for tax years 2018 through 2025. If the IRS classifies your business as a hobby, you'll have to prove that you had a valid profit motive if you want to claim those deductions." https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tips/small-business-taxes/when-the-irs-classifies-your-business-as-a-hobby/L5NClTTtK
  13. Boy howdy, and dogmatic as well. I saw lots of it while living in Utah for 35 years. (Convert co-workers, convert neighbors and the convert fambly my daughter married into).
  14. Heads up. About 2 minutes in a close-up of Tony nearly fills the screen. You could count his freckles. You have been warned.
  15. Christine did laundry for seven in her beater while Meri did laundry for one in her Mercedes. Sounds about right. I have zero sympathy for Meri, about anything.
  16. At 15:30 in the vid, while Janelle and Christine are talking in the kitchen (with zero background music), Janelle says "I don't really believe I could have a divorce unless... I don't know... you know what I mean?" Two beats (only two beats) of ominous background music are heard during that sentence, Christine nods with comprehension/agreement and the scene ends, cutting to solo Janelle talking on the couch. When the Christine/Kody split initially was going down the Dark Wife mentioned (inferred?) that (in their hodgepodge of what passes for doctrine) adultery on the wife's part is the only grounds for divorce. As in, even though officially separated they remain married until fresh meat defiles a plural wife (rendering her unclean). So, was Janelle saying she is SOL re divorce because she has no interest in a new bed partner? Does she remain in limbo until she does the horizontal mambo? I thought the Dark Wife was being neurotic/overly dramatic but... maybe ol' Forked Tongue spilled a truth? It seems like production added two ominous beats at that point for a reason.
  17. When Meri's thread is due for a new title I could get behind "Peace out. Sayonara, bitches".
  18. I'm getting a Beverly Hillbillies in London vibe. Bless their hearts.
  19. With very little reason why, evidently.
