It pains me to say that Joey is right but for the optimal outcome there has to be either across-the-board testing or universal quarantine. There is no middle ground. For the want of a nail the shoe was lost For the want of a shoe the horse was lost For the want of a horse the rider was lost For the want of a rider the battle was lost For the want of a battle the kingdom was lost And all for the want of a horseshoe-nail

Whoopi asked the panel today who they would choose to quarantine with. I would choose Jason Mamoa. He is funny and centered and charming, and he does the dishes, wipes down the counters and takes out the trash without being reminded. There are a few more reasons but this is a family-friendly thread. PS: Lisa Bonet is proof that the magic pussy exists. She landed Lenny Kravitz AND Jason Mamoa? Hey, leave some for the rest of us.

"I have believed in America and its institutions from the moment I was born on." In addition to never missing an opportunity to pat herself on the back she has enormous difficulty making a coherent point, doesn't she?

A couple of the characters Carol Burnett played on her show wore hanging socks filled with bird seed (with hanging being the, um, operative word).

She is appallingly thirsty. Either she didn't get or decided to disregard the memo advising that being avaricious* is not an admirable trait. *Having or showing an extreme greed for wealth or material gain.

I wish this show had enough seasons and episodes for it's own channel. It is a totally charming endeavor. I'm STILL chuckling about Diego the otter moving out after he didn't click with Icana: "his clothes are boxed on the porch."

My question is: where did a Jewish grandmother come from? Meri's mother and Kody's mother are fundamental polygamous wives, right?

I think we all have those moments when we can't prepare a dish because we're missing an ingredient or three. I found this article helpful because ideas such as being able to substitute sour cream for milk in a recipe would never occur to me. I'm a technician in the kitchen but I'll never be an artist. I think it's because I'm not a "brave" cook and I'm leery of coloring outside the lines. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/voraciously/wp/2020/04/06/how-to-make-substitutions-for-spices-herbs-dairy-and-meat-in-your-everyday-cooking/?itid=hp_hp-top-table-low_herbs-11am%3Ahomepage%2Fstory-ans

Thank you so much for finding that for the new-er people here who haven't seen it. I knew you would! It brings to mind "Beware the one who stabs you and tells the world they are the one who is bleeding."

His pride and his reputation are on the line because he's reached the age/the stage in life where he's supposed to be a patriarch. You can smell the flop sweat through the TV screen. He's a father-in-law and a grandparent and his biggest challenge should come from the fathers of his children's spouses. The tradition is denied but it's always there and not always bubbling under the surface, sometimes it's wide open. Which patriarch has the most say, the most sway, the husband's father or the wife's father? He has very little to offer, he doesn't have a family business to rope them in with or financial or political pull. The tighter you hold on to the next generation(s) the less chance they will stray. Kody is freaking out because when you take a head count how many kids live anywhere near him or can even stand him? There's no way Kody and his wives are members of the AUB anymore and there's no way they attend an AUB ward. They are failures who have reaped criticism, scorn and bad publicity. The only way he could redeem himself with his peers would be if his spawn remain worthy and in the fold and that ship sailed, took on water and sank a long time ago.

I had a thought tonight - why isn't this show paired with one of those watching shows? Like they do with 90 Day Fiancee or Before The 90 Days or whatever that watching show is, where people talk back to the screen as they watch? Now THAT is some satisfying TV! I would seriously come out of my anonymous mode, for free, to do that. Be still, my heart.

I watched TV for about four hours before MJ started, never changed the volume during that time and had to grab the remote as soon as Joey started running his yap. And FFS Scoop was the same way, They are mistaking volume for reasoned and concise commentary. They both LOVE the sound of their own voices and this morning Scoop IS NOT standing aside. Perry Mason, here I come.

Meri and Kody are two years apart in age but did not attend the same high school and were not high school sweethearts. "On Oct. 20, 1989, I met up with my new friend who was visiting from out of town. At that time, she introduced me to Kody, her brother. During that weekend while she was visiting, the three of us hung out together, shopping, going to movies and just having fun together. After she went home, I figured that would probably be the last I would see of Kody for a while. Not so!" explained Meri on the official show page. Meri said she fell for Brown when she was 19. "A couple weeks later on Christmas Eve - yes, two months after we met - he gave me a ring and asked me to marry him," she added. https://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/kody-brown-sister-wives/story?id=38331357 At that same link to excerpts from their book, listen to Janelle omit her marriage to Meri's brother: "Meri had brought him to a gathering to introduce him to her friends. When he walked into the room I looked at him and had that feeling of remembering something I had forgotten. It was a singular experience," she writes. "It didn't occur to me when I met Kody to think of him in any other way than as Meri's fiance. I even attended Meri and Kody's wedding reception. I had known Meri's family for several years before the night I met Kody so it was natural for me to be at their house from time to time. Over the next few years I would see them occasionally. Eventually, Kody and I became as good of friends as Meri and I were," she added.

I think Meri was a bitch to everyone from the beginning and the others reacted to that. I don't think the others treated her like she was a bitch so she became one. Who we see today is who she is and always has been. A greedy, domineering, selfish, dishonest, jealous, petty, vindictive, self-centered, emotional blackmailer. She is also a champion gas-lighter and excels at playing "get away closer" and "look how you've made me act.' I think these traits are inborn, I think her brain is wired a certain way (nature) and her childhood and early life (nurture) added the finishing touches. If she has good relationships outside the family it's because they are superficial. Nothing deep and meaningful and lasting is at stake in her LLR friendships - they are easy come, easy go. They are not the foundation of a life, just the final coat of paint.

Oooh, she was a sneaky little brat, wasn't she? She knew it was wrong but she did it anyway and took pleasure in doing it.

Secret Life of the Zoo made me ROFL this morning. Otters Icana and Diego were not a good match and Diego was given the boot. Icana, who of course had no idea that a new mate was on his way to her, busied herself with marking her domain to cover all traces of Diego's former presence. The keeper, who was a hoot, summed it up by saying "His clothes are boxed up at the door."

Ohhh, geez. I am so sad after hearing your news and so sorry for your loss. We were hoping for a good outcome. Thank you for posting the photograph - what a lovely face! You were blessed to have him for a dad. Perhaps the safest place for his cremains is at the mortuary. Using USPS (or UPS or FedEx) isn't wrong, per se, but there are so many uncertainties in the world right now. Leaving him there is an unpleasant choice but you would would never get over it if they somehow lost your precious cargo. Please let us know about any further developments that you need to or would like to share.

I was a cleaning service for a few years and had some minimalist clients. Surprisingly, those homes are difficult because it requires a lot more effort to make it look like you did your job. When rooms/walls are too busy there's no place for the eye to rest; in some minimalist homes there's no place for the eye to land. There's a fine line in both cases. The photos in this article caught my eye because If I could afford to travel I would go to Italy. In this 18th century 5,500 square foot 4-story villa I like the plaster and fabric finishes on the walls, the beams, the frescoes, the stone throughout, and especially the kitchen and bathrooms. And the vines and ivies in the courtyard! But the furnishings are so minimal that it makes me nervous. This place would be amazing if it had some damn furniture. In the living room I do not dig the wall hanging placed in front of the painting. Rooms full of absolutely nothing but then two layered pieces in one room? Why? Check out the photo gallery, oooh that kitchen. "... a one-piazza town." Eh-hew. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/19/t-magazine/vincenzo-de-cotiis-home-tuscany.html?action=click&module=Features&pgtype=Homepage

Your home is lovely, Kohola. (I'm a big blue fan).

Susan is my favorite as well. We adopted a 3-year-old cat who will be moving in on Monday, a stray who was fostered for a few months. I hope he is an Animal Planet fan! I'm going to isolate him in the office for the first 2 or 3 days until he and our Isabel program to the idea of each other's presence - with "his" TV tuned to AP during that time. I feel like I'm 10 years old and Christmas is coming!

I just heard that about the ambulances and came here to see if anyone had posted it. The staff members from top to bottom at the zoo are "good people," as we used to say in '60s and '70s.

Yay, the new season begins tonight and the entire day and evening is filled with reruns leading up to the premiere (at 10om for me). That means a lot of Jose, woo hoo! Enjoyed the serene keeper tending the baby bat, washing it ("No dirty bats") and wrapping it "like a bat burrito" before offering a bottle which was happily accepted.

They think they are speshul so it's OK for them to shelter in a place.
