I thought this was the best news to open this topic with: "The Goldbergs Cast Feeling Good About Season 2 Pickup"!

My observations: Loved that they got an actual Punch-Out!! arcade cabinet and with, I'm assuming, Nintendo's blessing; Drew Kremp it hawt; And so was Erica's other date. Beyond that, I loved the episode. The show can do no wrong in my book.

Yea, that's the problem, chessiegal. I grew up in NY, and I was used to weekday afternoons chock full of cooking shows. Saturday afternoons doesn't cut it for me.

While living in NY, I cut my teeth on PBS cooking shows, mainly Ciao Italia and other programs I can't recall. PBS in the DC area lacks any cooking shows, which is why I make sure to watch as much PBS Create when I visit my parents; a lot of America's Test Kitchen, Simply Ming, and Lidia's Italy. I'm also a big fan of Giada and Anne Burrell. And whenever I catch it, I'll sit down and watch Farmhouse Rules, if only because I find it fascinating that the Food Network tried to find a Northern version of Paula Deen after the racism debacle.

I watched off and on throughout the season and wasn't terribly invested, but I did audibly gasp at Kathryn's "transformation." I realize she was formerly pregnant and gained some weight as a result, but I almost didn't recognize her.

While we haven't seen too much of him lately, TR was always one of my favorite "characters." Not to mention he's absolutely adorable.

I'm the regular mod here and, to quote Ralph Wiggum: "Me fail English? That's unpossible."

Let's all keep in mind that we should be discussing the show and its characters, not what other posters believe. That includes acting incredulously at someone else's opinion. Stick to the show.

This year, "May Sweeps" is from April 24 - May 21.

I don't have an issue with the apparent lack of LGBT people, at least at this point. I expect that if the show lasts long enough, we'll get at least one gay character. As of right now, aside from the main group having their occasional trysts, we've not seen too much in the way of romance.

That's what it appeared as on RCN too. I've changed it. I kinda loved the episode. We got rid of Frank! We got rid of Nia! Nia told Johnny B. to fuck off! Johnny B. didn't get what he wanted! It was all great from where I was sitting. I also have to say, I was a little sad to lose Nia. I didn't so much hate her on her season of RW, mostly because I hated Johnny and Avery more. Watching Nia punch Avery in the face was cathartic, even though I don't typically condone violence. And with all the big talk during her season, I thought she'd be a challenge beast and we'd have her around for awhile. Too bad.

With the amount of gory deaths each episode, this is shaping up to be the CW's version of The Following.

Continuity Errors: Starts With the House Layout and Just Gets Worse
Stinger97 replied to Bastet's topic in The Golden Girls
Typically the show had issues with maintaining continuity between seasons. However, in the Mr. Terrific episode, the show fails to maintain continuity in the same episode. Throughout the episode, Mr. Terrific is portrayed by Bob Dishy. But, during the scene in which Mr. Terrific jumps off the building (while carrying Rose), there's a close up of Mr. Terrific swinging back and forth on cables and, if you look close, it's no longer Bob Dishy. The guy doesn't even look a little like Dishy, but is clearly much older. -
I didn't watch the entire finale; only caught the second half. From what I saw, it was more of the same: Lindsay's greatest enemy is the setting sun; Lindsay makes excuses for why she couldn't appear somewhere on time ("This chest cold set me back two whole hours! *fake cough*"); Lindsay talks about how she wants to be taken seriously as an actress and then acts as unprofessional and unaccommodating as possible ("I'll only do ONE wild line reading and no more!"); Lindsay tries to manipulate what Oprah's cameramen catch on tape ("Matt, are you mic'd?"); Lindsay complains about paparazzi. Nothing changes. The best part of the episode for me was reading Paris Hilton's response on Instagram regarding the scuffle between Lindsay's people and Barron. The angry emojis really set it over the top for me.

Here's the new logo for the show! Looks pretty good to me. It's definitely reminiscent of the original series' logo, which is obviously what the producers were going for.

Continuity Errors: Starts With the House Layout and Just Gets Worse
Stinger97 replied to Bastet's topic in The Golden Girls
Yep. The flashbacks to the Brooklyn apartment were super inconsistent. Sometimes the front door was situated to the left of the audience (the flashback to Sophia's 50th birthday party), and sometimes it was to the right (the flashback to Dorothy telling Sophia that Stan had knocked her up). When Dorothy and Sophia visit the apartment to jog Sophia's memory, the entrance is to the right of the audience, and the kitchen is to the left. -

In Sal and Sophia's Brooklyn kitchen, behind the pantry door were notches to mark Dorothy's, Gloria's, and Phil's height. Sophia misremembered it as having "Sal Loves Sophia" etched into the door. However, that was behind the closet door in their old bedroom. I believe you're right. It was also used as the museum that Blanche worked at, and which Dorothy temporarily worked at. -
Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue

I think a Dr. O/Liz performance could be fun, especially if both of them are forced into it by some random turn of events. I'm getting flashes of Lucy and Ethel singing "Friendship" in matching dresses. -

It did fit what I believed to be a St. Olaf aesthetic, but unfortunately that set was also a stand-in for Sophia's old kitchen in her and Sal's apartment in Brooklyn. GG was notorious for reusing sets. I think their doctor's waiting room set (with all the wood paneling and glass double doors) was redressed about 5 or 6 times over the course of the series. -

Question: Do we see a need for the general discussion thread and this thread? It seems to me that there's pretty much total overlap between them and it'd make more sense to keep one (likely this one) and merge the other one. How does everyone else feel about that? -
Looks like Kenya pressed charges against Porsha for the incident at the reunion. Luckily for Porsha, she's looking right in her mugshot! That's a win in itself.
