  1. I'm not sure when or how it happened, but at some point tonight I realized I was... invested. I was rooting for Abby when she played her dead husband's video message to the citizens of the Ark. I felt (a tiny bit) bad when Finn was all, "Bye! My girlfriend's back," after he slept with Clarke. I was hoping the kids would get the fireworks lit in time to save all those Ark folks who volunteered to sacrifice themselves in Section 17. I screamed, "Noooooooooooo!" when Octavia fell down a hill and was later discovered by a Grounder (seriously, she's one of my faves so she better stay alive). The acting is by no means top notch, even for a CW drama. However, I'm in until it's cancelled, plot holes be damned.
  2. Exactly, annzeepark914. Anything BUT the show. Obviously, none of the mods are going to ding you simply because you make a passing reference to Ina, but we're trying to organize the site in a particular way and encourage all of you wonderful folks to stretch out and use the forums to their full effect. Feel free to create threads for particular subjects relating to the show, etc. The world is your oyster (with a squeeze of lemon and chopped fresh parsley).
  3. Lura, I'm the male in the picture. That was taken last year at the my friend's wedding after party. I was a touch tipsy (read: very drunk).
  4. Thought this was an interesting article from Entertainment Weekly detailing 25 wild memories from 25 seasons of the show. Mark Long, grandfather of this series, announces his un-retirement (which I thought he already did). So if the series gets another installment (and, judging from the ratings, I don't have much confidence in that) and the producers want him back, expect to see Mark back.
  5. If the Sabrina recast was temporary, it wouldn't matter that TCa is pregnant. If her job was waiting for her after she's off maternity leave, there's no issue.
  6. Y'all. I think we've all had our say re: whether Patrick should or should not move on from Robin, and whether or not he would be justified to do so. Let's move on.
  7. I knew it was a Jackson, but I guess Jermaine makes more sense.
  8. Lakewood27, the episode in which Tootie (pardon the term) freaks the fuck out because Mrs. Garrett doesn't want to let her meet Tito Jackson immediately comes to mind. She screamed and cried as if Mrs. Garrett just punched her in her braces. The other girls rightly rolled their eyes and were pissed when Mrs. Garrett stepped away from her original position and decided Tootie could go to the concert.
  9. Hi, guys! If you're planning on discussing all things Ina, please be sure to do so in the General Discussion thread. Small Talk threads are meant for non-show related discussions. Thanks!
  10. Say whaaaaat? She really does look great for 66, although I think her secret might be in keeping more than a couple extra pounds on her frame. Her fuller face keeps her looking younger than if she were thinner. I'd also have to wonder if she doesn't color her hair, as I'm surprised there's not even a bit of white showing yet. Either way, though, good for her.
  11. I totally agree that Chet is a douche, however I had to give him a pass for quitting in light of his injury. As he said, his face is more important than the slim chance at a big payoff down the road. And, don't get me wrong, I don't think Chet is some supermodel adonis like he seems to fancy himself, but I also know that if I had a gaping wound on my chin, I would elect to get stitches immediately rather than risk making the injury worse in some wrestling competition (that I'd likely lose anyway). But I've never been that competitive. I always laugh when TJ gets super indignant about someone quitting the competition (and this goes for Jeff Probst from Survivor as well). If you're so sick, or so injured and you're worried that it may actually affect your life beyond the game, you're totally justified in quitting. The Challenge is a silly TV competition, which, to my mind, isn't a great reason to be scarred (literally) for life.
  12. I thought it was odd that she and her Russian friends were up at 7am, playing Dare (straight to the "fun" part, no time for truth) and stabbing one another in the ear. It looked to me that they were likely intoxicated and had been awake all night. Is that really the kind of people she should be hanging out with after the umpteenth stint in rehab? I just don't get her.
  13. Maybe she meant meth? My boyfriend was super into Lindsay before this show. He knew she was a train wreck, but he rooted for her. He wanted her to get better. He wanted her to make a comeback. But after watching all of the episodes, he's joined me in finding her totally disgusting. She's a self-centered, narcissistic airhead and, unfortunately, her parents haven't helped the situation. Speaking of, I was cringing watching Dina trying to manipulate the situation and the cameramen during the sit down with the ghostwriter. Dina is a loon who needs to be locked up herself. She's done her daughter no favors and, if Lindsay's life ends in tragedy, it'll be because her parents failed her. (Can you tell I really hate her parents?)
  14. I am by no means judging how Kenya mourns her dog, especially since Velvet died unexpectedly and in such a gruesome way. But Kenya was so over the top and the memorial was so ridiculous that, unfortunately, her "mourning" didn't ring true. I believe she was upset, but I think some of it (maybe most of it) was for the cameras. Enjoyed "A Mother's Love" and, surprisingly, I found myself wanting to see more. Bravo should have gone in on it with Kandi and produced a DVD of the production. I'm not saying I would have bought it, but it would've added a little something more to Bravo's shop other than those tacky "Mazel!" panties, "Mazel" off-the-shoulder sweatshirts, and "Mazel!" non-slip bathmats.
  15. Candace Cameron-Bure is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars and she looks fantastic. She also guest starred on the season (series?) finale of The Neighbors, appearing with Scott Weinger (who's a writer on the show). They only appeared at the end of the episode, and it wasn't made clear if they were playing their Full House characters. Either way, Scott's looking pretty good as well. Laurie Loughlin is starring on When Calls the Heart on the Hallmark Channel. She and Andrea Barber appeared in the DWTS audience the other night to support Candace.
  16. As someone already mentioned, Ina's Chicken Salad Veronique is foolproof and super tasty. I'll typically omit the green grapes (because I never seem to have any around), but I replace them with dried cranberries. I prefer the texture and sweetness they add, without the excess moisture you get from grapes. I've made these too, typically on special occasions (simply because I try to avoid fried chicken cutlets and, unfortunately, baking doesn't do them justice). The salad greens on top of the chicken, I dress them with a super simple lemon vinaigrette. I made the meal for my boyfriend for Valentine's and he had no complaints.
  17. Agreed. The issue with a public vote is the mob mentality. While there's some of that in anonymous voting, it's so much worse here. If you know that X has 5 votes, and Y has 2, X obviously has a greater chance of going into the elimination and ultimately going home and, it's probably wise just to vote for X so as not to risk pissing Y off. Jordan basically said as much when voting for LaToya with his, "Since it seems to be trending..." If the vote was anonymous, sure everyone would strategize before heading into the vote, but there would be opportunities for blindsides and disturbance of the status quo.
  18. Small talk threads are typically intended for "getting to know one another" conversations. If you're planning to talk about the show, the General Discussion thread or individual episode threads are the more appropriate area. Thanks, y'all!
  19. Courtesy of TVBTN: Dropped another tenth of a ratings point. Not good.
  20. Not a terrible start to the season, though I hate when the game structure becomes too convoluted. It took me the entire hour and a half to figure out how people ended up in the elimination round. Thrilled, however, that somehow both Chet and Jemmye ended up in and then, well, out.
  21. Her weekend hosted in the Hamptons was the catalyst for a half-season worth of fighting between Mica and the Prouds.
  22. Discuss Blood, Sweat & Heels Here!
  23. I changed the title to pay homage to the "uglayyy" seasons of yore, but feel free to tell me I'm silly for doing so and I'll totes change it.
  24. Since the season is currently airing, the more appropriate place for discussion is in individual episode threads (which you should all feel free to start).
  25. While it didn't occur under the current regime, didn't the third actor to play Lucky (whose name I'm blanking on) get the boot after they lured back Jonathan Jackson? I've got no qualms with LW, but I personally would love SJB to return in the role of Carly.
