S06.E10: Bon Voyage Ramona
Stinger97 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Agreed on Heather's new found likability. I'm not sure where exactly she's pulled it out of, but she's definitely become one of the more tolerable (almost enjoyable) women to watch on the show. I still think she looks a little (see: a lot) like the aliens from old school V, but I suppose that's not her fault. -

S06.E10: Bon Voyage Ramona
Stinger97 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I feel like I should have so much to say after watching the episode, but all I can muster is that Ramona is wrong. Very, very wrong. Like, in all the things she did tonight, she was completely and totally wrong. Who throws a glass in someone's face in retaliation for being splashed with water and then, while "apologizing" for throwing the glass, starts screaming at the person? In what world does that make any sense? I feel like had that been me, I would have been groveling at Kristen's feet, begging for her forgiveness simply because I'd be afraid she'd press charges. Nope. Not Ramona. Instead she's screaming about being splashed with water while she was in a canoe in the middle of a lake. Uh... That she failed to let anyone but Carole know she was chartering a plane home (or to the Hamptons, I guess) is also weird. I don't care how much money you've got. Unless you're the president of the US and there's some national emergency, it's incredibly tacky to charter a fucking plane and leave a get together with your friends. I'm poor as a church mouse and can barely afford my Toyota Corolla and even I know that. But as someone very wise once said, "Money can't buy you class." I think it was Aristotle. -
Yep, @Kromm, it was the season finale. And what a season finale it was! I had a feeling Murray was going to miss the basket at the basketball event, but I really wanted him to make it. Garlin has done a wonderful job this season in making me feel something for a character that could be one note and just not fun to watch. Instead, Murray is totally endearing in his grumpiness and, dare I say it, almost cuddly! That feels weird to type, but it's totally true. Loved that Adam, Murray, Beverly, Pops, and Erica all had a hand in helping Barry's party become a success. As each character pointed out, Barry's had a tough season. And as I was with Murray, I was cheering Barry on. I wanted to see him succeed. That he was able to throw a crazy party, become the life of said party, and share a kiss with Lainey? It was the perfect cap to the show's wonderful inaugural season.

Dwyer Derrig: Does She Ever Make Her Own Meals?
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in Barefoot Contessa
Noted, @schnauzergirl! Thanks! -
I feel similarly about Britt and Ben (I refuse to call him "Rocco"). While she's not his biological mother, I enjoyed her with him. I also enjoyed seeing Britt, Nikolas, Spencer, and Ben as one happy family. While Britt will never get Ben back (unless Lulu and Dante bite it and leave him to Nik who has since gone back to Britt), I think Britt deserves some happiness. I also think Nikolas needs to end up with someone with a little bit of bite, which I think Britt provides. It'll never work with Liz, IMO. And as I've mentioned before, it never really bothered me that Britt stole Lulu and Dante's embryo. While it was totally wrong, I can't stand the Falconeris. Both are some of the most holier-than-thou citizens of PC. I mean, wasn't it Lulu who tried to kidnap Maxie and Spin's daughter, Connie, once she realized she wasn't going to be granted custody? She's no saint when it comes to children.

The Goldbergs in the Media: That's Incredible!
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in The Goldbergs
TVGuide has an article called "How Real is The Goldbergs?" detailing the S1 stories and how many of them actually occurred (i.e. Real Beverly bought six mattresses on sale and still has them in her attic). The article also addresses what to expect in S2. If I had to guess, I'd say that once Erica (S3?) or Barry (S4?) head off to college in the show, we'll see this: That is such a Beverly thing to do. -
Mac: "How much are you being paid to be a glorified extra?" Kevin: "$15 bucks and I had to rent my own tux."

I thought it could be for that reason when Lucy said something about "Blackie failing to mention a scheduling conflict," but I did like that she added that everyone in PC misses him and that he'll always have a home there. I thought it was going to be a "stick it to him" moment, but it didn't really turn out that way. Either way, I'd like John Stamos to swing into town at some point, maybe with his adopted sister Laura on his arm.

Ratings & Scheduling: Nielsen Family Favorite?
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in The Goldbergs
Although pretty much expected, ABC announced today that The Goldbergs is officially moving to Wednesdays @ 8:30! While I don't want to jinx it, I'm expecting big things out of the show being sandwiched between The Middle and Modern Family. ETA: ABC's programming head, Paul Lee, had this to say about the 2014-15 schedule and about The Goldbergs in particular: -
I think today's appearance was it. He's a member in the band Player. Spencer announced the band (but not Moss).
-
I did too. They may be the town pariahs (and rightfully so), but I enjoy their friendship and their attitude towards the mostly holier-than-thou folks living in PC.

Which acts? The only really "risqué" number was the men stripping down to their skivvies. Kids have been seeing worse than that in PG-13 movies for years. The bigger issue is that they're serving alcohol at an event in which children are attending, though I'm not too bothered by that either. That's also a pretty common occurrence nowadays. Glad to see the "crisis" averted and that Ron Moss didn't show up playing Blackie. Wait, what? Are you referring to Felix/Lucas? If so, let's keep the nicknames to those that are easily discernible for the uninitiated.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I've only recently realized that Paige played April O'Neil in TMNT II and III. Those were my favorite movies as a kid (well, maybe not III but II was my jam), so it's very cool to see her here. Also, as an aside, Judith Hoag (who played April in the first TMNT), is also on broadcast TV nowadays playing Tandy Hampton on ABC's Nashville. Who knew the April O'Neil actresses were having something of a renaissance!

GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in General Hospital
The show did leave it open, however, by showing the presumed dead Stephen Clay/Caleb Morley waking up in the morgue, killing the medical examiner, and walking out. So, technically, I think we're still supposed to believe he was a vampire. From GH's wiki page: So yea, still a vamp. -
GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself

, is Laura actually still in Europe at the hospital? The last I saw of her, I thought she was just going for a routine check up and then we just never heard about her again. Which is odd considering everyone she loves (aside from Lucky) is in Port Charles. -
