Here's your spot to wildly speculate about what you expect to happen this season. Maybe you think Julie Chen will be a secret HG who will only enter the game once at least half the house uses the magic words, "But first..." Or maybe instead of evicting HGs from the house, Julie pulls a lever and the evicted HG is dropped into a pit full of sharks. Who knows! But here's your place to guess.

HCF in the Media: Who was the Perez Hilton of the 80s?
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in Halt And Catch Fire [V]
A bunch! Check them out: "AMC Boots Up Another Great TV Series" (IGN) "Halt and Catch Fire Reverse-Engineers Pop Culture" (Ars Technica) "Is AMC's New Drama the Network's Next Mad Men?" (IndieWire) Most of the reviews I've seen have been glowing, which is an encouraging sign. -
Unpopular Opinions: "I hate BLTs from Kelly's!"

I thought he called him "Mikey," which works for me considering they're brothers who grew up together. -
Spoilers and Speculation: Clink Boom and Cheese Fondue
Stinger97 replied to BestestAuntEver's topic in General Hospital
It's been the same story with Christina Baldwin as well. We've been hearing for months that both she and Serena would be returning to town, and there are even pictures of two young actresses who apparently have been cast in the roles, but we've still yet to see them on-screen. I'm suspecting the characters are indeed returning, but perhaps the story keeps getting pushed back. -
GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in General Hospital
And Liz lost that baby as a result of Faith Rosco (who, now that I think about it, was basically the Ava Jerome of her time) intentionally pushing her down the stairs. Faith had a one-night stand with Ric and she was all butthurt that he was in love and eloped with Liz. And then somehow Ric blamed Sonny for Liz losing the baby. That's what started the whole Panic Room storyline (Ric kidnaps a pregnant Carly and locks her up in a hidden room in his house), which I'm ashamed to say is one of my favorites. -
I'll get the ball rolling. Never once did my criminal law professor ask me to help her cover up a murder. I've got another year, though, so there's still time.

The Mysteries Of Laura - General Discussion
Stinger97 replied to David T. Cole's topic in The Mysteries Of Laura
I think it looks kinda cute, which is pretty much all I was expecting out of it. I've given up on the myriad CBS/NBC procedurals that feature nothing but story after story of rapes, murders, and burglaries. From the trailer, it appears very reminiscent of the 80s procedurals that were a bit more lighthearted and less about playing stories ripped from the headlines. So long as the pilot is decent, I could see myself DVR-ing it. -
I'm aware that eliminations are in a rotation. And I don't know if it would have been easier for Jordan to pull Johnny's bodyweight with the aid of a rope (although Jordan was quick enough to best Leroy, so I imagine it would be possible for him to do the same verse Johnny). But my point is that Jordan was disadvantaged in this particular elimination and, I'd argue, throughout the season (which I admit is simply the nature of the game). I wouldn't expect the producers to accommodate his disability, and perhaps Jordan shouldn't have talked such a big game, but the kid started most of the competitions behind the 8 ball. If you're being asked to grip something with two hands and you're missing four fingers, things are going to be a little (or a lot) more difficult.

TJ is totally justified in feeling how he feels, but I kinda wanted to slap him and be like, "Yo, kid, shut up. She's got a great explanation for all the shit she's done for the Jeromes and, the first time she was arrested, it was so that she could keep your whiny ass off the streets." Maybe it's just because I like this actress, but I hope she's successful in taking down FauxLuke and getting her son back. Does FauxLuke expect that he can murder Lucas in his hospital room and no one is going to suspect it was him? As if the nurses wouldn't notice that his breathing tube was tampered with? As if alarms wouldn't sound as soon as Lucas' vitals dropped? It just seemed ridiculous. Also, was it just me or did Bobbie not seem appropriately distraught that her son was shot? She was acting as if she was off to a book club meeting instead of visiting her injured son. And two things bothered me about the "big" reveal by Shawn that it was actually Ava who shot Olivia: 1.) It wasn't as if Ava intentionally shot Olivia-- she was shooting at Franco just like Shawn was; and 2.) Olivia wants nothing to do with Sonny (as of right now), so why should he be planning to kill Ava over something that Olivia survived (and which Sonny originally thought was Shawn's fault and was totes cool with)? It certainly makes more sense that he'll want to kill Ava for killing Connie, but don't use Olivia as an excuse too.

I don't think it was that much of a disadvantage. He could have used his elbows. I mean, sure, he could have. But at that angle, I think there's likely more force in a fist than in an elbow. I think Jordan was also disadvantaged because he had to climb a wall with essentially one working hand, but I suppose it's par for the course. It's the nature of the game and the producers certainly weren't going to accommodate his disability, but I did agree with Sarah (on the After Show) that it's likely the cause of his bravado and puffery. Because he's missing four fingers, he feels like he has something to prove. In related news, I found it telling that Johnny made sure to rub it in Laurel's face that Jordan's a loser, that he didn't really like her, etc., and seemingly simply because Johnny was pissed that Laurel didn't fall into line and roll out the red carpet for Johnny to walk to the finals. One thing that's always bothered me about Johnny (and the other veterans who think they're above eliminations) is that he takes it so damn personally. For someone who has made this game his career, he should recognize that it's just that: a game. Surprisingly, it's not a mortal sin for other competitors to diverge from what Johnny wants.

Amid some controversy, Coca Cola has pulled recent Diet Coke ads with the tagline, "You're On." People were mocking the ad campaign, claiming that it appeared to be saying, "You're On Coke." And, if you check out some of the pics, it does look a little like that. As a result, Coke has pulled the ad campaign and replaced it with one of my favorite 80s/early 90s campaigns: "Just For the Taste of It... Diet Coke." Check out the new commercial which is quickly becoming one of my favorites, simply for the classic tagline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTfVsAs4Ybs

Johnny's constant comments about Jordan's disability irritated the ever-loving fuck out of me. I get that Jordan was cocky and full of bravado and a bunch of folks weren't fond of him in the house, but making jokes about someone's missing appendages is just gross. I also suspect that a lot of people didn't like Jordan simply because Johnny didn't like him. Johnny's a vet with a reputation for being a strong competitor, while Jordan isn't. So, of course they'll back the stronger guy by virtue of his value to their own games. I also had a bit of an issue with the choice of elimination, considering Jordan's missing four fingers and can't make a fist to bust through that sheetrock wall. But I suppose he brought it on himself. Even still, maybe the producers should have considered that when planning the season?

GH History Lessons: Because History is Always Repeating Itself
Stinger97 replied to Stinger97's topic in General Hospital
It's a pretty complicated situation, but the short story is that Cheryl Stansbury and Julian Jerome were Lucas' biological parents. When Cheryl died in a car accident, she left Lucas to Bobbie and Tony, who then legally adopted him. By that point, Julian was also believed to be dead. Just this year Julian was revealed to be Sam's father, making Lucas her half brother. As for Luke, it's not really him but some impostor. Real!Luke was locked up in a mental hospital as a result of Heather's antics and, I believe, is still there. What we're seeing on screen now is who we're referring to as "FauxLuke" or "Fluke" (although, wasn't that the nickname for the Felicia/Luke pairing from years back?). There's been a lot of spec as to who FauxLuke actually is, with some guessing it's Anthony Zacchara or Damien Smith. -
Just received the email regarding the early bird special for the Live Feeds!

I've said it before, but I'm of the opinion that writers are not their characters. It's fiction and apparently what the writers think is good for the story (however wrong they may actually be). So, no, I doubt that the writers hate women. If FauxLuke turns out to be Anthony Z, I could be fine with them showing him taking off some platform shoes along with the rubber mask. Of course, I hope it's someone more interesting than Anthony Z, but maybe we'd get Johnny back for a bit! I could be on board for that.

Murphy was originally accused of murdering Wells, even though it was the little girl, Charlotte. I'm not sure why he was banished, though. Also, according to the Wiki, Connor (the guy Murphy murdered last night), was the guy Murphy urinated on. So, I guess Connor got his revenge by almost hanging Murphy and, well, Murphy got his revenge last night.

Did she say anything about expecting to survive the bomb? I wasn't paying full attention, but I figured she was just planning to sacrifice herself for the good of the group. She was very obviously in the blast radius, at least to anyone with a functioning brain. I will say, however, that I was wondering if the show would get rid of Raven. Lindsey Morgan is still listed as "guest starring," even though she's appeared in a majority of the episodes. And not that I'm complaining about the end of the R/F/C triangle, but I found Raven's reason for calling it off kind of flimsy. She made it all about how Finn didn't hesitate in catching an infected Clarke from falling over, but Finn also didn't appear to hesitate (at least not to Raven's knowledge) in running out to the bridge and carrying Raven to safety. He put his life on the line for both of his bedmates. I would have been happier had Raven simply said, "Bye, bitch. I've been vomiting up blood for the last 4 hours and I've realized that life is too short to fight with Clarke over some boy with a 90s haircut." I'm still not buying that Abby, Diana, et al. are dead. Would the show really spend all that time and energy on characters they were going to kill off in the 9th episode? While it wouldn't make sense for them to have survived such a massive crash and subsequent explosion, this is the show that featured a virus that causes its victims to bleed from most of their orifices but that still didn't cause any real lasting ramifications (unless you died). And one last thing: Were the 14 graves for people who died from the virus, or folks who've died since the show began?

Carole Radziwill: She's a Real Princess!
Stinger97 replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
Sounds like just about every situation to ever occur on an RHoXX season! Thanks for the history lesson, @Lisin! -
If Jordan is an undercover DEA agent and wanted to ensure that the drug shipment went off without a hitch, shouldn't she have notified the PCPD about what was going down on the off chance that they may find out anyway and disrupt her entire plan? Even if she was worried Anna would try to horn in on the operation, I'm sure her supervisor at the DEA could have set Anna straight. Or maybe Jordan fears that Anna may be corrupt and involved with PC's underbelly, especially considering her close relationship with Duke? (Or, y'know, maybe I'm just overthinking things.) Should FauxLuke be shooting people in a park with as much traffic as the one in PC?

Carole Radziwill: She's a Real Princess!
Stinger97 replied to Lisin's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
I'm not intimately familiar with the Aviva/Carole ghostwriting situation, but I didn't have an issue with Carole calling LuAnn for help with the article. If you're writing an article and someone you know has experience in that subject area, there isn't any harm in utilizing the connection. Had she put a pencil in LuAnn's hand and asked her to write the article, that would be an issue, but that's not what we saw. -
S06.E11: The Ramona Trap
Stinger97 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in The Real Housewives Of New York City
What drives me crazy about Ramona is that she refuses to sincerely admit that she has issues and needs to see a professional to address them. If she's claiming that she was so emotionally affected by simply being in the Berkshires, that should be a clear sign to her that she needs to revisit the abuse she suffered and work through whatever pain she's holding onto. Instead, she simply acknowledged her issues to get the other women off her back during the "intervention" and, in her talking head, admitted she doesn't think she has a problem. You can't have it both ways, lady. I thought it was odd for Carole to have a first date with LuAnn and Jacques there as well. It's been a bit since I've been single, but I remember being incredibly nervous before most dates (unless I'd taken a couple shots beforehand). I can't imagine how nerve-wracking it would be to be on a date with someone new, as well as with two of your friends who are very clearly judging. It just seems awkward. -
If Lucas is the victim, I hope we get some scenes with Bobbie. And even as someone who enjoys Felix, I don't think I'll be able to stand it if he's given more scenes than Bobbie regarding Lucas' injury.
