  1. I thought the same thing about Colin’s purple shirt. At least we get a new show, whenever it was recorded.
  2. Rev. Sibley has been doing a bit of cheerleading for Cris on his Twitter feed. He's a better Episcopalian than me; Cris showed some worrisome quirkiness in the last episode...and I think he'll be around for awhile.
  3. I have had this experience, too. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (which has won a Tony) used to send out teams of actors for the school visit program each year. They were professional actors, of course, rather than over-earnest young adults. I thought Jacob was aware of his status with the students last year during the desking episode.
  4. This will go down with last season’s art teacher episode as one I won’t rewatch. Last season, Janine would have been as excited about the Story Samurai as Jacob. This year, she’s in on the joke. I know people love Ava, and they have made her a bit more competent this year, but I really don’t care for a principal who would set her staff to be embarrassed.
  5. I enjoyed the premiere, but there were a lot of characters in the episode. We had the regular gang, plus Nigel and his former lover, Nancy and a few of the cholera pit group, and the unpleasant guests. Maybe it was a bit busier than normal. It’ll be nice to focus on fewer characters next week. Warning: I’m going full English teacher here. I don’t think the writers have anything against Duluth. I think they ran through a bunch of Midwestern cities to find the perfect fit for the sentence. “When you’re dealing with two-faced Chicagoans” doesn’t have the same alliteration (dealing and Duluth) and rhythm. It’s almost iambic pentameter (shout out to any Shakespeare fans). I’ll show myself out.
  6. I've noticed in the last few episodes, the scenes with the veteran actors have been strong. I know some people didn't like what Maggie said to Sarah, but boy did Suzanne act the heck out of that scene. The same thing happened with Roman today. He actually had a scene with Kate that required him to flex his acting muscle. Maybe Days finally hired a director who know what he/she's doing.
  7. Selma seemed so fragile at the end of her performance. I'd be afraid the most rigorous dances will really exhaust her.
  8. Oregon State beat Montana State 68-28. Beavers are 3-0. Next up, USC at Corvallis. Go Beavs!
  9. Did Al or Dylan say anything about the massive storm that's going to hit Alaska this weekend? It's supposed to be the worst storm in at least 10 years with a scary storm surge and 75-95mph wind gusts. My friend lives in a tiny village that is already dealing with eroding river banks. Their only means of transportation is by air or water. There are no roads. If the flooding is as bad as predicted, the runways for small planes will be inundated making supply drops nearly impossible. It's a big deal; it would be nice to hear Al spend a few seconds on it.
  10. Darn. Ted Lasso is great, but I really wanted Abbott Elementary.
  11. The excitement starts 4 minutes in. Go Beavers!

I completely agree. Someone should have helped him collect his gear and helped him leave. Poor guy. He felt he let down the fans including Michelle Obama, who was courtside (must have been somewhat distracting/intimidating). So many levels of pressure must have been on Tiafoe. Hopefully, he'll have a long, successful career and get to the point where he can win for himself rather than defend the title in the name of Arthur Ashe, et al.
  13. When I gave an assignment that was an epic fail, I had to acknowledge my own part in my students’ disasters. I think the judges need to check themselves. Oh, yes, and berating people doesn’t inspire creativity.
  14. Here’s a link. Is it bad that I wish it was Christmas right now? Sounds like a really fun episode. https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/ghosts-christmas-episode-season-2-cbs-1235357985/
  15. Except for Timmy and Zeta, the final dates seemed a bit on the cheap side compared with the most recent Love Island UK. I also found it interesting that the family visits were still done virtually. Is the Peacock Network not willing to spend money to bring loved ones to California or were family members not willing to follow Covid protocols? Overall, this season was a bit of a disappointment. More attention needs to go into vetting contestants. I still wonder if Zeta and Timmy were placed in the villa due to their degrees in psychology. They were always the ones to counsel heart broken islanders. I was happy with the final result. I could actually see the winning couple working on the outside.
  16. Looks like Leo is standing behind Chad: notice the plaid pants and purple shoes...
  17. FYI: Also on Big Sky this fall is former Eric, Jensen Ackles.
  18. I think I've seen Zach TInker on commercials for Big Sky.
  19. I thought it was charming although the format was a bit confusing. Instead of going into the finals after the first six or so episodes, there is a second group of children introduced who go through the preliminary rounds as well. I haven't gotten through the second group, but I'm assuming they must compete against each other before the finale. So far, the second group has shown a tendency to drop their bakes on the floor and claim the five second rule more than the first group.
  20. I like Jesse and Deb. Her self-deprecating humor is refreshing, and I like that Jesse seems kind and supportive of the other couples. I also like that the producers have stopped giving bonuses for F bombs...there seems to be fewer of them in recent episodes. (I'm kidding about the bonuses part, of course).
  21. I'll keep the chat going... At first, I thought Phoebe was fine, but it's hard to ignore that she always lets the girl in the couple know she kissed her guy right after it happened. Sometimes I think Zeta and Timmy are too good to be true. I noticed both have backgrounds in psychology. I wonder if the powers that be brought them in to be sounding boards for heart broken islanders.
  22. Sorry to follow my last comment with another post. I wish Al and Dylan would stop making fun of Craig for playing the violin and going through a somewhat awkward adolescence. Their sympathy to bullied kids is a bit hypocritical when they can’t stop mocking their co-worker.
