  1. JB&ME CLAIM the kid won't ever be on the show (heavy, heavy emphasis on "claim"). I wonder if a judge could forbid that as part of the custody and adoption agreement? There's very little the judge can do with Josh and his past. There were no charges and no court case or trial so no legal documents on file for the molestation. The best he's got is hearsay of past issues where everyone involved is now an adult and nobody is pressing charges. Plus a current cheating scandal where everyone was a consenting adult; cheating may be scummy but it's not illegal. It should be red flags to at least refuse to waive home inspections, CPS follow up etc. Who knows if it will be. I wonder what this kids Mom is doing now? Maybe she refused all help but if not, if they were the family they claim to be they would have taken the niece in also and tried to help her get back on her feet. And I feel for ME's sister - unable to care for her grandson because of a stroke; wonder how old she is? Still have to watch the last episode of counting on but from what I've read JB threw every "we make our own courtship rules" statement from the girls right out the window. We always knew that was BS anyway - wishing over and over that one girl just one time would tell him to stuff it - a 22 year old does not need her father frowning on her because a boyfriend and likely future husband put his arm around her while sitting on a couch in full view of others - first, it's just another side hug really and second what sinful touching does he think that is? These people are just way to involved with their kids (non)sex lives and way too mistrusting of the slightest show of affection. It's not protective and fatherly JB it's creepy stalker behavior.
  2. Survival School = Fast Forward (mostly, stopped it now and then to see what they were learning but it was pretty much snooze fest). Jessa wore yoga pants or leggings under a skirt to exercise; why didn't the girls wear the same in the woods, anything that offered a little extra protection. Jill and Derrick on vacation, watched most of it; they just had to mention danger again though. That theme is in every episode now and at this point it honestly has me a little stumped................are they trying to make sure we appreciate their situation or sacrifice or are they trying to lay groundwork because they're moving on soon and they want it to look like some sort of safety decision? I doubt the moving on part because I don't think Derrick will just go back to the US and get a 9-5 job but he could be looking for a new assignment, something more urban to make Jill happy. If she's pregnant though they for sure will come home for the birth (that's one thing I wouldn't make fun of them for though). The babies are the ones to watch, can't screw up with babies on TV (and boob knows that's where his money is coming from!). Izzy saying hola la la la la la (with tongue out the whole time), Spurg playing the part of an escaping wet noodle while Ben tried to dress him and definitely that laugh of his. I think they've got me, I'm only watching for the kids and to see how Jinger's wedding plays out (curiosity sucks)
  3. Sabrina's constant talking about how she hoped Carmela wouldn't be jealous, wouldn't hate the ex, wouldn't object to having her at the wedding was so sad and pathetic. And it's one of the few things I think wasn't staged or prompted by the producers, I think she really does believe all that ex-boyfriend drama she talks about exists even though it's only in her head and the only one that was truly jealous was (?is) her. Until the credits I really thought TLC was going to make an announcement and Esther and that group in the barn were going to turn out to be a new cast for a new season. I guess they still could be even if she does have a boyfriend and left the Amish but maybe they'll get smart and finally just let the show go.
  4. She tried but I don't think she really wanted to leave. She kept saying how she just has to work harder at her "faults", not just the reading and the music, she also said not being able to get up at 5am was on the list of things that made her unworthy. I can't even come up with words strong enough to ask what kind of men these are and what kind of religion it is that could convince a women that God hates her because she can't get up at some arbitrary time. And the daughter that got taken away..........If Lizzie has drunk the kool-aid this poor girl has had it injected directly in her brain. I wish I could remember the exact quote but it was so sad when Chanelle told her they were talking to her mother and she said something like she's almost 14 so she's old enough to be a mother. I bet if she met her future husband tomorrow and he was a 45 year old second cousin she'd line up to marry him with no question and that's just incredibly sad.
  5. I wonder if she's really shy or if she's just a non-actress done with the fake BS lines and stories she's supposed to follow to show this "internship". I don't doubt she's part of the team and learning about fashion off-camera. But I don't believe for a second that any of the jobs we see her doing on camera or the conversations with her co-workers are real and spontaneous in any way. She doesn't look shy as much as she looks like she's trying to decide what her next response was supposed to be and what fake emotion the producers told her to show in this scene.
  6. When Flagg thought there were spies and Charles led him on but Flagg couldn't figure out the clues without being led by the hand: Flagg finds a piece of paper and stares for awhile Charles: Is that a map? Flagg: A map! Charles: A map of our camp Flagg: This camp Charles: A mark around my tent Flagg: Pierce's tent. And there's a circle with something written. Charles: (starts talking slower). A. Clock. Flagg: It's a clock! Charles: 10. O. Clock Flagg: 10 o'clock!
  7. Local station just showed one of my favorite Charles episodes - Sons and Bowlers - and it's not even about Charles, it's Hawkeye trying to reach his Dad who's having surgery. I love how Charles the caring human comes through in this one - starting when he's about to leave the room and hears Hawkeye on the phone trying to reach the hospital, he comes right back in and looks truly concerned, he stays with Hawk the whole time except for OR and even there he supports him and try's to calm him down. But he never tells anyone else, not even to get a pat on the back for himself for being helpful. Then later he tells Hawkeye a story about dinner at his house and Hawk says that Charles never told that about himself before - Charles replies "I never told you anything about myself before" - David hit all the right notes with that, the look on his face and coming across as more honest and human and less haughty. Frank could make me pity him at times but Charles makes me actually like him at times, the "underneath" of each of their characters was different. There are a few other great moments when Charles let his soft side show through but this is one of my favorites.
  8. I'd like to argue that Derrick, Ben and Jeremy do not know what extemporaneously means, couldn't spell it if God was holding their pens for them and if you told any of them they weren't "extemporaneous" they would likely think that it was something dirty they're supposed to avoid and thank you for the compliment. Yes, they're each educated to some extent Ben barely, Derrick more so and Jeremy must be somewhat but seeing them in action paints the picture of how small their world really is. I can say that I'm torn on giving them more air time and ratings but at the same time I know when that wedding airs I'm very, very likely to be watching it. There's too much for my curiosity - the dress, the reception (especially the food), the wedding party and how they keep Joshie off our screens (I'm thinking go low tech and just make him a white out silhouette in every shot - like when they take the Survivor cast offs out of the group photo).
  9. If they film 2000 hours I don't understand why they don't have more content. Even in the never before seen the week before they had two good stories, Bear and Bams tattoo's and Matt's infected hand that could have been an entire episode between the two (or more likely Disco would stretch each into a full episode). But neither made it why? For more filler of coming up Billy takes pills (commercials) before the break Billy was going to take his pills, now let's watch him take his pills. Actually the most entertaining "real" thing in the behind the scenes episodes was the crew member that got stuck in the mud.
  10. I wish they'd given an update on that crew member though - did he recover, can he walk OK? I didn't see anything during the show (but I did miss about three minutes after a commercial break). I knew they'd leave Sig until the last few minutes even though they called it Widowmaker part I, they did the same thing with the fire which was really only covered in Part II (boy when you start listing it the NW has had a crap year). I can't imagine how Edgar is going to react when they wake him up............maybe an even line between cool under pressure getting it done and complete is my brother going to die freak out. At least we know the outcome though.
  11. Let's be generous and say Rebecca is getting $15/hour at the bakery "job", for three weeks full time. That's $1800 before taxes; then they go home so Abe is nowhere near that dentist anyway. I guess before they go she could pull one tooth with that money. Why is the choice the expensive NYC dentist or an Amish butcher dentist? Are there no real dentists in Lancaster (you know, where they're "living" now)? Where do they take the invisible kids for checkups?
  12. There's so much that just raises questions instead of being part of the story: Where did they all get the money to stay in NYC for three weeks, Where did they get the money to move to Lancaster in the first place? Where did Mary get the money to buy that house? The answers of course are 1. Trip is on TLC's dime. 2. I don't believe they ever moved to Lancaster, my first theory is that house is still in western PA and it's all a story. Second theory is same as the first answer, TLC paid for the move 3. The house is rented - whether in Lancaster or elsewhere TLC has to be renting it. There is no possible way that Mary, Abe and Rebecca bought that house and I'd have a hard time believing they're even the ones paying any rent on it. Then there's the leaving the house - three weeks in NYC why? It's not a new city for them and even Mary has let loose there before. Where are Abe and Rebecca's kids (was it mentioned, I couldn't find where they said a word about it). Who's watching the house while they're gone and what happened to Abe's job. Bottom line for most of that is again TLC pays and the contract says they have to go. The most laughable set up though is trying to make us believe that now that they're in NYC, with all the things they could see and do Abe and Rebecca just had to sit across the table from Kate and watch her sketch. Staring as though it was the most fascinating thing they had seen in their entire lives. The only one I have hope for is Kate - I hope she did what she needed to this season, took every cent of the money and used it to pay for real school and the chance to stay in New York, get a real job in the industry, I hope she comes to terms with any sexual issues and finds something that is stable and makes her happy. Even though I also hope Sabrina can straighten out since we know her issues are real and not created for drama I think Kate has the best chance of making a good life outside of both the show and the Amish culture.
  13. I use this for episode info........I try to watch in order but my station shows them just a little out of order, they'll do things like show ep 3 then 5 and 6 then 4 but sometimes the'll throw in a couple from a different season Wiki Emergency episodes
  14. I think it's likely that Jeremy went for Jinger (or any Duggar girl really) as a "born again virgin" thing. He probably renounced his wild days when he drank the kool aid and considers himself re-born and re-virginized. So he's looking for a girl to match that standard and it seems like he doesn't want one that's been around and then renounced like him, he wants one fresh off the truck and "clean". Even with the vague stigma of abuse as a child what he gets is a guarantee of someone untouched by other suitors and inexperienced besides (that he can mold maybe?) The talk about him possibly being controlling or at least very strong willed is interesting because if true as bad as that could be for Jinger I have to admit I'd love to be a fly on the wall if and when he stands up to Jim Bob (really I'd love to see anyone look Jim Bob straight in the eye and tell him to take a flying leap)
  15. Agree and like times 1000 - I had a crush on him back in the day, when I look at Emergency now I don't see him as my old crush anymore but then I look at a picture like this and think wow, there he is. Enjoying watching the show in re-runs now, I'm finding more humor in it then I used to (on purpose humor not camp) and it's fun to watch what the other guys are doing in the background sometimes especially the Captain.
  16. You can actually see his blood pressure going to the red line. Plus he smokes and he's doing it more with all that time in the wheelhouse then he could when he was on deck. You'd think Sig's heart attack would be a wake up that he needs to have some care or at least handle stress better (although in show timeline that hasn't happened yet). I like Wild Bill's approach - his famous "Get your motherf** ass on the motherf** deck" speech, he raised his voice but didn't yell or scream, he was firm and no nonsense but I don't think he got that worked up (that showed). Sometimes firm but in control is scarier than fly off the handle screaming. At this point though his don't engage strategy is good, it's not going to improve anything with Kenny and they both know he's gone as soon as they dock.
  17. Not alone - I didn't think she was horrible but I think the audience and judges over reacted to her. She's good for her age but she's shaky and at some spots pushed too hard (she's going to rough up her voice if she's not taught control). I don't hate her but I don't see her winning at all. For those who think Simon is too soft - check Britains Got Talent on you tube; he's pretty much the same way on there. Maybe because the acts have variety or maybe because each person doesn't strut in thinking they're the next singing sensation of the world but even though he'll still criticize a really crappy act (or anyone with attitude) he's generally more laid back than his idol judging.
  18. I was spoiled that Sister E was going to die (careless Google search last week!) so instead of shock it was more anticipation. I kept thinking here it comes and I don't want it to happen. Now I know though why the previous episode was pretty much a zero tissue night; they were storing it up for this one. I don't want to say it was a "great" episode, that sounds like something fun; I think powerful covers it. I don't know if it was intentional but when Phyllis said she'd help Dr. Turner research because of her rolodex skills I thought it was a nice little call back to her first episode when she went toe-to-toe with Sister Evangelina who wanted to keep their ledger book method. Now to wait for the Christmas episode, the 2017 season and Chummy's eventual return. I suspect (not spoiled just guessing) that they'll get a new Sister at some point and hope she'll be a good fit. For any other show I'd say they better not just cast a Sister E. clone but I feel like that's not a worry with CTMW, the writers seem to keep to a higher standard than that.
  19. While watching I never thought Sam should have a problem with Lucifer being right in front of him. I think it's the deceptive packaging. If Mark Pellegrino had been playing the role Sam would (or should) have wet himself. But it's Castiel, their old friend they love so much - so I figured Sam mostly saw Cas; then even though he knew what was in there controlling him when he looked at him he saw only the outside and since he couldn't see danger on the inside he was able to cope. I also imagine that Misha just loved the number of times he got to say "screw you" - that first encounter between him and Chuck was fun to watch. Other than that - too much talking - which has become typical of SN lately, great episodes and stories mixed with an hour of everyone just talking and bitching at each other but nothing moves forward. Some of it they needed to set up the finale but it gets tedious. I'll stick with it, I'll watch the finale, I'll tune in next fall but ..................Please next year go back to just a little more "saving people, hunting things, the family business".
  20. Oh can you imagine - she's already given up drinking (for valid reasons), now Dr. T puts a fear of smoking in her? She'll either become an even more annoying fitness guru than she already is or she'll start climbing the walls looking for something she can use as a nervous habit. She won't turn to food but a chewing gum addiction wouldn't be unrealistic. Either way Trixie quitting smoking would likely drive everyone else at Nonnatus house crazy.
  21. If you're in the New York City area or get PBS channel WLIW they're running all three Season 2 episodes at midnight, 2am and 3:30 am on Wednesday 5/18
  22. So Tom isn't quick on his feet or they just needed a silly plot point? The Sisters came in just a few minutes later so why not just tell them he made the spot while leaning on the wall "talking" to Barbara. Sure it's a lie but if you're going to lie anyway changing molesting to talking to is certainly less an offense than an unconvincing gee I don't know what that spot could be. I think this was my least favorite episode of the season (with the exception of Sister Evangalina's return). Maybe without the PBS cuts it's better but there was just too much; barge mom, pre-eclampsie mom with bonus indifferent husband, full moon baby rush and storm damage. I think I was supposed to feel tension at how would they manage all those crises and instead I just felt confused and rushed while they fit all those stories in. Still the worst episode of CTMW is still yards better than a majority of the shows that are on and at least we got a small break in that there was no three tissue moment.
  23. It was funny enough for at least a normal episode, maybe not over the top enough for a finale but funny enough. Judd Hirsch was great but he always is - I saw him at the Paper Mill Playhouse in I'm Not Rappaport (with Ben Vereen!); I think he can do both comedy and drama well and maybe doesn't get enough credit for the drama (Running On Empty comes to mind too) ................he works as Leonard's Dad though. Leonard could have shut up Penny pretty quick at the end if he pointed out that if Mary and Alfred got together Sheldon could end up her brother in law (step). Bernadette isn't even showing yet; I almost don't want her too even next year. Melissa isn't pregnant or sick in real life is she? I notice a couple episodes ago she went to bed while everyone else went to Leonard and Sheldon's and this episode and a couple others she was sitting a lot, either in the car or at the kitchen table. Maybe just coincidence but it seems like lately there are less scenes where she's walking around.
  24. Sister Monica Joan was perfect - she likes to push buttons (especially Evangaline's!) but she has so much empathy. The episodes with the abused children when she helped in the wash house, a few episodes ago when she tried to stop Sister E. from packing. She does so much with just her facial expressions she doesn't have to talk. The whole bathroom scene was worth an entire tissue box. And Bryony Hannah was incredible - She's gotten tough on occasion (the gypsy camp episode stands out) but I think this is the first time she really let go, actual yelling, telling off Sister Julienne, knocking the chair over. She did such a good job in every scene. Do Tom and Barbara ever get a kiss that's not interrupted by an emergency or Trixie walking by? Does Delia ever get to say more than one line? Maybe in scenes that were cut (I can't wait for the US release of the DVD's). The cord pulling though? There was a lot of squealing and half covered eyes in our house!
  25. They should have voted Tai. They're not being strategic; take the chance that his advantage was immunity and he ends up staying. Take the chance because it's not certain that's what the advantage is and because what is certain is he has an idol he's playing next tribal. The other uncertainty is could Jason win immunity next week. It's still worth the chance. Otherwise what isn't uncertain is you're taking Tai to the end or at least F4 and he could win immunity and be in the final especially if it's an endurance challenge. It would have been better to try and get Jason out next week but I agree with those who said he's not a goat and they don't want to take him to final - despite all his other boasting he is quite a talker and that plus revenge votes from Scott and others could push him to a win. They shouldn't chance that but they should have at least chanced it long enough to boot Tai now. Once the first blocks fell and we realized Cydney had the right strategy from the start we were cheering her on; slow and steady was much better than start over. And yes, if Jason or Tai had started out that way Jeff would have called their plan strategic; but she does it and she's just "slow" and falling behind. On the other hand Joe repeatedly misspelling his word will never not be funny - After he did it the first time I don't know why he didn't take 10 seconds to line up the blocks in the right order so he didn't have to think which one to pick up next; sure it takes a little time but not nearly as much as going back and forth because you screwed up the letters.
