  1. I'm not that good at "spot the error" stuff but I noticed during the conversation in the truck Emma went from wearing a sweater when you saw her from Jason's POV to not wearing a sweater in close up. Only reason it was noticeable was you could see the reflection of bare shoulder & arm in the truck's side view mirror. I'd like to see a story line where Emma steps up and says she'll go to college near home and take care of the house and her brother when Jason is away. Yes it's a lot to put on a 17/18 year old (she is a senior right?) but many have done it in real life and it would make for some interesting "home" stories of trying and succeeding, trying and failing, growing up and a new family dynamic for all of them.
  2. Going by that "studying" picture from a month or so ago, maybe he finally read past the Table of Contents and moved on to the Introduction page? That seems about his speed. I hate Monopoly, I mean truly hate it with the burning fire of a million suns. Why and what does this have to do with the Dillards Dullards? My Father was (to put it nicely) a jerk. Childish, competitive, petty, probably narcissistic and a dozen other similar descriptions. He decreed that New Years Eve was for playing Monopoly and as a kid of 9, 10, 11 you don't tell your parents "No". So there I was every year stuck at the table playing not a fun let's sit around, laugh, have snacks until midnight game but a cut throat tournament where ALL rules must be followed (even the ones he made up like you can't store your money under the board in front of you which I tried one year to make others think I had less than I did). And you play to win not to enjoy it and gloating, teasing and mocking is the appropriate response for an adult when your 9yo lands on your $1000 rent property. See where I'm going with this? By the time I was nearing my teen years I dreaded those games, did everything I could to get out of it and took to playing badly and losing quickly just so they'd be over. Which, to be honest, only pissed off my Father more because I wasn't taking the game seriously and you "play to win". I see some of those things in Derrick and in the Candy Land and other videos with poor Israel. Should you let your kid win all the time just because they're a kid - well no that doesn't teach them much. But should you bend rules, have a little fun, teach them how to play and most important not make fun of them while they're trying to understand something - of course we should. Kids don't go from ignorant to expert without a few steps in between; with his degree and school jumping ways Derrick should certainly know a few things about "learning curve" by now. When I take him as a whole my opinion is Derrick is someone who has to be the most important puffed up person in the room and the one who is "right" about everything but he's not much into acting like an actual human being.
  3. So Andy is going to do some movies to keep on being Rick without being stuck in Georgia for more than half the year (don't yell at me, by stuck I mean away from family/home not "stuck" somewhere unpleasant). But if some point he wanted to come back I've been wondering if Rick exiting on the helicopter was also opening the door to have him return if (when?) they introduce the Commonwealth? Just speculation and they have a lot of story to get through both made up for the show and tied to the comics to get to this one but.......................... maybe he's going to take the place of Elodie? They've been pretty clear that on the show Michonne had one child, a son Andre and he is dead. So if they want to use Elodie's comic story they could twist it around a bit to have her find Rick alive instead. All speculation of course and it depends on the show lasting several more years and Andy Lincoln wanting to come back full time by then but it would be an interesting way to go. Also in the preview Jesus and Aaron were looking at a herd of "walkers" who were just milling around instead of, you know, "walking". Forget who we think those milling "walkers" are, what I want is for that to mean Jesus and Aaron are a couple or are becoming one. Been waiting for that and with the time skip Eric has been gone long enough for Aaron to move on. It's a little thing but I do want to see that relationship included in the show.
  4. Spurgeon and Henry are both wearing matching pants. I don't think Spurgeon had an accident and Jessa changed him. I love their pants with their cute jackets. Now Sammy, even being a baby, could have been dressed in something better than gum boots and a logo shirt! Hmmm - now that I read your reply I realize my post could easily be read as knocking the outfit. That's on me, I didn't say it well and I actually meant to compliment Henry, he's turning into a cutie like Spurgeon but he's so, so pale blond the first thing I thought of were those little Hummel figurines (which lead me to Sound of Music). Now off to find Sammy pictures to see what all the talk of his wedding outfit is about - that family is snark worthy although that's all on the parents not Sam or Isreal who have no choice in it! Also forgot to say before that in Jeremy's picture with Gideon to me Jer with that slicked back haircut looks remarkably like Ricky Ricardo.
  5. That super blonde hair, those curls plus the bowtie - all he needs is lederhosen and he could slip right in to a Von Trapp family reunion. Jessa and Ben did make some cute kids though and they're far less likely to "correct" the spark out of them then some other parents <coughDerrickcough> Hope he's partied out because there was an actual party. Well guess I'll be sucked into their world again - curiosity will definitely get me to tune in to the wedding episode (or find it on demand sometimes they have it in advance).
  6. The writers better have a helluva plan for Ashley's story line. It is the least interesting and most frustrating part of the show. YMMV of course but to me there are two separate things going on........What is Jon hiding, what did he do with his finances, why did he have mail sent to the box she opened and how will it affect Delilah, the kids and the rest of the gang? OK that's not a bad plot and could be very interesting both in the explanations of the "why/what" and how any fallout plays out. But part II is that it's Ashley doing both the hiding of what Jon might have done and the investigating of the things she didn't know about before - why? She's not interesting to watch she's sort of one note skulking around half endearing herself to Delilah as a helper half screwing with Delilah's future and by extension Jon's kids. When really any of the gang could have taken this on with or without Delilah's knowledge and the part about what was Jon up to would have been just as interesting if not more interesting. So basically ranting a bit to say that Ashley is an annoying character and, while Jon may have had secrets that make him less of a saint than his family and friends thought he was; having her be the linchpin for that story line takes it from "interesting mystery" to "oh my god get it over with already"
  7. You got a SODA in your lunch?!?? I hope it was a special occasion! Grape Juice - mine was a can of grape juice every day (not Welch's, the cheaper store brand) and yes it was wrapped in tin foil to keep it cold. Also it was a full pop tab not the pull back ones you have today and we dropped the tab into the can and let it sit in there while we drank. Nobody I knew swallowed one but I suppose some kids did (hence the current pull back type) No book bags for us either just carried them in our arms but we did wrap the books in paper grocery bags. In fact the school required covers, the teacher would check at the end of the first week and send a note home with you if your books weren't done. I never did figure out how my Mother did it exactly but just about every kid had that - except the "rich" kids they had store bought covers. I liked the paper bag better though, always had to remind Mom to make sure the store logo faced in and she had to write the subject along the spine. But when done you had multiple school books that each had the entire blank paper cover front and back to color and doodle on throughout the year. Only thing I had to do was occasionally re-tape the edges. Or worse ask for a completely new cover if I dropped the book in a snow pile on the way home, Me too! Luckily I went to public school because my Mother & all her siblings went to Catholic School and she hated it. So I got out of that but still had CCD once a week and all the "milestone" ceremonies. I loved the comment in the first episode that they were ahead of so & so's family who could only come up with a Nun. If they had a sister on this show I could definitely also imagine the posters & relate - I still remember our group of neighborhood girls running to the corner store to see the next issue of Teen Beat or 16 magazine but THE one to have was Tiger Beat not that we bought many we just pawed through them in the store and generally drove the owner crazy.
  8. Been debating whether TPTB will give Rick an "out" by having him caught by another group or even taken away on the helicopter (against his will) so Lincoln could return to the show later if he wants; that's looking less likely although a twist is never totally off the table. On the other hand not sure having him caught on that rebar at the end was as suspenseful to the viewers as the writers may have thought. Not from spoilers or previews or anything just the last two minutes of the episode......all I could think was if the scene continues and he dies right there he'd end up 100% eaten like Laurie and nobody would ever know what happened to him and of all the ways this could play out there's no way he's going out like that. If they wanted us to bite our nails until next week that may have worked with mid-range character that we care about, not a main player but not a red shirt, someone like Jesus or Aaron but not with a top billed actor whether they're staying on the show or not. Why is Neegen always in shadow? Are they waiting to do some big scene where we see his no sharp objects allowed prison beard and his shocking huge scar from where Rick cut is throat? Because if they think that'll be a big special reveal for the viewers and we just can't wait until he comes out of his jail cell shadow............they are NOT reading comment boards like these and far overestimate our feelings for the character. One quick question from the episode - all spoilers, comic book plot and everything else aside and just from this episode..... Did Michonne say last night "My SONS" (plural)? Or did I hear wrong? From a flashback episode (S4-E9) she had one son only didn't she? Anyone else see him in Hawaii Five-0 Season 1, Episode 1? He speaks with an Irish accent! (And of course with short hair so you actually remember he has eyes)
  9. Rose! Of course! Thank you - that has to be it, I was crazy for Lost when it was on and she was one of my favorite characters I just couldn't put it together.
  10. Yeah! Me too - most I've laughed in a long time. I can't get worked up about who insulted who, it's a sitcom. To me it's supposed to go for the broadest brush and really just about nothing that sitcom characters say or do would fly in real life. What I really want to see now are the out takes from this - right from the beginning in the hallway when Sheldon complimented Howard's hair it looked like they were barely holding back smiles especially Jim. Also I loved the end; Sheldon using Amy to get out of watching Halloween - ironically I've never seen Halloween and watched the first hour last night but turned it off not because I was scared (yet) but because BBT was on. That little coincidence might have made the gag funnier to me.
  11. Well to be fair to Eddie when he stalled the play he was thinking using his brain; when he had the affair he was thinking..............elsewhere. Agree! If the show wants to go for realism they wouldn't have the principal tell Delilah if they punished Chloe in any way (confidentiality) but Sophie saying she heard through the gossip mill that Chloe was called to the office or had a detention or something would be good. The school must have a zero tolerance policy for bullying too. I don't need a scene with Chole, they don't need to introduce her character on screen just for this; but even if the church still fully promoted the idea that suicide excludes you from heaven at the very least the principal should be talking to Chloe about empathy and phraseology and why saying John is "burning in hell" crossed a line. A little throwaway line next episode that Chloe got some sort of punishment would be nice. The show is really growing on me, I liked the hints of humor this episode after the angst of death and funeral hung over the first few. Gary and the pee stick and Eddie and his delay tactics plus the quick conversation with him and Katherine about how Theo fell over because he tried to bow in his tree costume. But I have no opinion about Delilah's pregnancy yet except whether true or not with the separation Eddie needs to get a real job. In fact I'd be more interested in that story than a pregnancy story; seeing him try to do more than part-time guitar instruction and find his way in the working world. Also a bonus no Ashley this week - that to me is the least interesting most soap opera story they have going, I can only hope it'll be resolved soon or if they were going to drag it out maybe the writers will see it's a dead end and do some re-writes where they wrap it up more quickly then they'd planned to. Anybody know who played Rome's Mother? She looked really familiar and I felt like if I could just picture her a little younger I'd know who she was but it's not coming to me and she's not in any of the cast listings yet.
  12. The racism in the store is one thing; Zoe being upset about the pillowcase was a little much though. I get that many black men automatically knew what she meant but I'd suspect that many wouldn't. I don't think that one comes down to racism as much as it comes down to men not knowing or not wanting to know all the things ladies do as a "beauty routine". It's like anything else, some know all about it, some know a few things and some are totally in the dark. I'm the same way about guys even those who do the bare minimum; I have no idea about aftershave vs cologne and apparently there are conditioners you can use between the shaving and the aftershave splashy stuff and the nose hair thing and to be honest I don't want to know. And I can't tie a tie, I guess some ladies can but why is it every single guy on TV who says to his Mom/Girlfriend/Wife "Can you help me with this" has a lady that can automatically step up and do the tie for them? Just once I'd sort of like to see the lady turn and say "Nope, I have no idea how you do up those things". Anyway not catching rudeness in the store doesn't seem like it should be equal to not knowing that silk is for her hair, I was sort of picturing that scene in Steel Magnolias where Dolly Parton's husband was playing with the wax and finally asked "What the hell is this for?" The basics of mascara, lipstick, hairspray they get, the details not so much. I thought he died too; wonder why that is? And yes he does have the bad guy role down; before this aired I caught him on a Dr Quinn repeat where he played an Army Major who was (surprise) a jerk. Show always gets me with the sad moments but they got me with the funny this time, I had to pause because I was laughing so hard at the frozen lemonade conversation I couldn't hear what they said next.
  13. Rick's error was not realizing the other groups experiences are different and worse than his. He considered Oceanside least of all - The Kingdom was protected from Neegen by Ezekiel's deal to do all their "trades" away from the settlement, Hilltop had problems and deaths but they had the weasel Gregory knuckling under so their losses were more about supplies than people. But Oceanside, who got stuck with Simon the Psycho, lost people the way Junkyard lost people, basically a slaughter. Rick must know most of the story by now but (IMHO) between the time that's past since the men were killed and since they took down the Saviors plus the fact that he didn't experience those killings directly and they weren't people he'd ever even met he made the fatal mistake of thinking the women of Oceanside would be somehow happy to follow his Carl's vision, make happy friends with everyone and forget everything that happened. How he could believe that one speech about mercy would make it all better for everyone is beyond me but it's coming back to bite them all in the ass now. Jadis, the helicopter, the debt of one more "A" is interesting enough to keep me watching/wondering. I have a suspicion who she talked to and not Questions - was there some deep meaning to the color red, some tie in between the tomato and Carl's grave and the one the Savior took from the cart? If so I missed what they might be trying to say there but could be as simple as the same item used for good/evil or even simpler it's just a tomato and meant nothing. Bigger question - why did Michonne appear to have blood on her arm when she was sitting in bed working, where did it come from and why did she quickly wipe it off when Rick came in the room? And please don't make Michonne pregnant, not that a little Richonne baby wouldn't be adorable but it's just not the right direction for her right now.
  14. In her defense we once spent over an hour fighting (or debating if you want to be nice) how many stairs my Grandmother had in her house because nobody could agree whether the landing at the top counted as a step (those who said yes argued that it counts as a step because you have to step up to reach it, those who said no said it's even with the upstairs floor therefor it's the floor not a step), and we couldn't agree whether the downstairs floor counted as a step (same argument, you have to step down to reach the floor so it's a step, but it's part of the floor so it's not a step). I can still see my Aunt standing at the bottom pointing to each step and saying this counts and you step here so this counts so you have to start counting here and that's step one then counting her way up the stairs (trust me it was funny if you were there and could see the hand waving and facial expressions!) I could see automatically thinking I walked up 4 flights because I live on the fourth floor, plus they have that turn in the stairs so two "sections" of flights per floor. If I lived there I'd probably double it and call that eight flights of stairs. Considering how heated the argument got at Grandma's my family would never settle how many flights their were and trying to agree on total number of "stairs" would probably make their head explode.
  15. What this episode needs is a follow up. It can be completely redeemed if we had, in the next episode, a scene of Amy going nuclear on the university president maybe with HR present (would be nice to see Regina King again I've liked her in that role) AND then see the fallout of that with Sheldon being sanctioned by the university in some way that really gets to him, a temporary suspension, a fine, something. Then one scene with him complaining about the sanction as we know he will because he thinks he's never wrong and Amy taking him down a few pegs to where he realizes how he overstepped. To have him do what he always does, plow ahead like all his ideas are right and he knows what's best for everyone is in character so what he did to Amy wasn't unusual for him. What he needs is to learn from his mistakes and the show usually uses his actions for laughs but rarely includes consequences. This time, with this plot, they really, really need to include consequences. There are only two BBT episodes I don't like. I know it's a "what you find funny" thing and some like them but I just never found them to be funny. They are: The one where the gang is dressed up as Star Trek characters and Leonard's car is stolen while they're taking pictures in the desert. And the one where Leonard and Sheldon stop at Skywalker Ranch and they end up detained after breaking in; which is definitely another Sheldon does what he wants no matter who else gets in trouble episode. I think this episode has made #3 on my list, the sub-plot with the planetarium was cute but not cute enough to make me tune in again once it hits repeats.
  16. Cars had seat belts but there were no seat belt laws. We never wore them and didn't have to and they were just lap belts (at least in the backseat). My parents had a rule about them - I remember family vacations in '76, '77, '78 where we didn't wear them until Dad hit the on ramp to the highway, then Mom would turn around and tell us to put on the seat belts. That was the family rule, belts used when on the highway but even then it wasn't strict, we could lay down on the seat to nap without belts or if Mom passed sandwiches and juice back (no fancy restaurants and if Dad wanted to make good time no stopping at the picnic area either!) we could take them off to eat. And I know by the late 70's or even first few years of the 80's we were still riding in the trunk area of the station wagon on day trips when the whole family came along because that was the only place we and the cousins fit. As for TV's - we did have a color TV but no remote, even when we first got cable we didn't have a remote we had the cheap box with buttons. All we had was the spin dial; but we were spared demands to get up and change the channel; us kids weren't allowed to change the channel because Mom decided we spun it to hard and would break it. And this may be why I liked the show. Haven't found a new sitcom yet this year that I thought was really funny. This one I think I can relate to because I was the age of the younger kids in the year it's set. And our family was Irish Catholic. They had me in the beginning when they said the son was to be a Priest and so & so's family had 12 kids and only managed a Nun. They are a little stuck in the 60's which I blamed on Mom & Dad not letting go of the past but not sure if that's the case or if the writers/set designers are getting the era wrong. I'm definitely going to watch it again. If I had any criticism they need to tone down the Mom a bit, there's a fine line between running the house so the boys don't destroy it and being rude and bitchy and she's flirting on the edge if not outright crossing it; if they don't balance her a bit she's going to start to grate on the viewers I think.
  17. Maybe they Zinged? Oh wait they wouldn't have seen that movie it being a cartoon about evil supernatural beings and monsters and magic and such (makes sign of cross with fingers, backs away slowly and goes to watch Sound of Music in the prayer closet). Anyway, goofy "it's late afternoon and I need coffee" comments aside.............I really want to know too. About the timing, how long before they went into courting mode did they know each other. And by know that's actual met and talked face to face, why did they decide to date court is there actual attraction there or is there any hint of an arrangement with a push in each others direction from the parents...and more questions. Well this is how they get us, now I want to watch next season and see how this plays out, what they show on TV and what we find out reading between the lines of what they show. Curiosity is going to make me hate-watch this darn courtship and wedding right through the season! That said I'll admit one thing - right now with just the info we have, the little we've seen and read I do think JD might be pretty happy with his choice and if so good for him. I think Jill thought she was happy with her choice and may still think she's happy but there's a weird undercurrent there and Anna despite having drunk the kool-aid has still been put through the ringer emotionally. Joy is probably happy enough but I have doubts about Austin. Jessa is so carefully crafted it's nearly impossible to know the "real" her. Josiah and Lauren? Jury is still out on that one. I'd say Joe and Kendra and Jinger and Jeremy are the only two couples I'd believe are truly happy in a healthy sort of way. So another actual happy non-fake pairing would be a very good thing at this point.
  18. Aaron losing his arm was just..........stupid.............screw that plot line idea. I'm all for drama and the camps going through hardship, dealing with walkers, how to build a new world etc. But main or mostly main characters losing limbs especially this early in the season - well, just hope they're going somewhere with this. And now we have to watch him cope one handed, raise Grace one handed, maybe find a partner to help him with that (the only good part of the plot and if they do it I think I know who it would be but leaving out names to avoid spoilers). Just feel like there's a lot more he could be doing and could have done going forward without this set back so would really like to know where they're going with it. But have fun taking his arm out of every scene special effects team! Too bad they didn't have Eric as one of the walkers though, Aaron seeing Eric moving towards him would have been more of a gut punch. Carol snuggles with Ezekial and accepts his proposal AND kisses Henry and acts all loving Mother towards him? Geez show why not just paint big targets on their backs? Doesn't bode well for them being with Carol or will she ever get a happy ending? Jadis Anne looks good with the longer non-dyed hair and sounds good with the full sentences. She's going from character that grates to someone interesting to watch. Certainly her attraction to Gabriel was out of left field but it's not a bad pairing. But that helicopter - I have a guess what it means but whether right or wrong it goes into comic spoiler territory so leaving it out for now (and it's just a guess). What I can't guess since Jadis Anne isn't in the comics is why she seems scared of the copter. Her face last night wasn't so much I don't know if I trust that as I'm frightened of that. Interesting. Also triple points for the walker herd and Rick taking them down with rolling logs. Realistic that most of them would be so decomposed their heads would just squash immediately. Wonder if TPTB read comment boards complaints that last season was Neegan talking heavy and walker light that we've gotten the first two episodes with pretty decent walker threat representations.
  19. I figure we're asking about 12 years too late. I'm still pissed he didn't at least get nominated just for that speech by dead Sam's bedside at the end of S2. No matter how many years it's on, ratings, fans, good seasons and bad seasons a "horror" show like this just isn't going to get any respect from the Emmy's which is a shame. Is it just me (and not just for this show) or have the sound effects people on just about every show with fights really ramped up the punch sounds lately? Every single hit sounds like a very large man with horseshoes in his glove hitting a side of meat and the microphone is actually in the meat. All it's missing is the Whamp! Bang! Snick! words popping on the screen like a Batman episode. Could it be because he's Lucifer's perfect vessel the same way Dean is Michael's? This might be me making excuses but thinking either the demons don't know Lucifer is dead (unlikely) or, more plausible, they think Sam is the vessel for any king of hell so he's untouchable the way he was in Season 4. Might be where they're going with this or I might be trying to put a square peg in a round plot hole, not sure. I didn't think it was too bad, I feel like season openers are only slightly less clunky than a new show's premier episode - a lot of time is taken with season plot set up, reminding us what happened before and catching us up to what's happening now. Sometimes it's done really well but often it feels like a lot of explanation and set up of what's coming while still trying to keep what's coming a secret so the set up tends to not make sense. Maybe I'm just making excuses but at the moment I didn't hate or love the premier it just sort of "was". I'd give it at least two more episodes to really see where they're going with this or if they even know where they're going with this. Nick alive? Human or Lucifer? I don't know........but I did notice his bed was on a devil's trap so they're not taking any chances. I do still, and have for a long time now, miss the basics of the early shows. This large arcing plots can be good but sometimes I just want to see "Saving people, hunting things" again. Also on a shallow note can Sam keep his beard for awhile?
  20. Tear Up moment #1 of the night. The second one came when Randall said he was sorry at Kate's bedside The show likes to play with timelines so there's no way to be sure but I feel like we're getting close to his "crash" if we go by the finale scenes from last year. If Kevin is gearing up to go to Vietnam and they showed him on the plane with Zoe in those scenes they can we assume that Toby in bed immobile with depression was occurring at or near the same time? And if so they're getting pretty close to that trip. But really the way they fool us with now vs then vs later there's no way to know for sure. I was thinking the same thing - and it would be a far better idea, Beth has the smarts and a personality that's more open to talking an negotiation where Randall is pretty much a bulldozer (as Beth pointed out when he ran out to fly to CA) Older (Grandparent age) friends had a story like this; he was a surgical resident & they were supposed to meet for dinner but he was over an hour late because he was on call and there was an emergency. He found her waiting patiently at a table in the restaurant reading a book she'd brought "just in case". He said all his other girlfriends had gotten mad if he was ever late & they couldn't understand why he couldn't just walk away like it's a 9-5 job. He always said the minute he saw her with that book he knew she was the one. ETA: With Kate in her minimal operation makeup there was a huge resemblance between her and Hannah Zeile, if somebody had told me those two were sisters or cousins or in some way related in real life I would have believed it based on the scenes they had together in this episode Small prop department error in the Jack/Rebecca grocery store scene - the top shelf behind Jack was loaded with those large plastic single serve cereal cups. There's no way those would have been available back then, if anything it should have been the small cardboard boxes that usually came in a multi pack.
  21. Watched the last episode out of sheer curiosity; which was probably stupid but hey I had nothing better to do. Was going to remove them completely but had still been reading the boards and had to see at least one last time what they could possibly be up to. Not having seen the whole season: Changes! Gabe with a eyebrow piercing, Bird looking a little heavier (not in the brain though), Matt looking a lot grayer, Bam actually looks pretty good the family separation must agree with him. Matt has a chicken best friend and invents a space suit to cool himself despite the fact that he'll sweat out 20 lbs trying to get it on. Some things truly never change. Bird is smart enough to know she shouldn't be at the top of the barn when the lightening is hitting directly overhead; but not smart enough to take her hand off the metal ladder. Power tool ban? I have no doubt at all if these yahoos were real and not being filmed they'd use any and all power tools they felt like using no matter what fire precautions were in effect. But since they're fake and the barn build is fake Disco is in charge so no worries about them starting their own fires. And of course it plays right into the "drama" story. Notice despite the urgency Bam seemed to disappear for the second half of the barn raising, didn't see him when the tin roof was going on, not available for the shooting schedule? Find a fire lookout and never see them visit it again - I assume they're waiting to use it only after Noah invents a bush telescope and Matt installs a lawn chair with self cooling fan cushion and a beer storage seat. Dead brush removal - to where? So they walked out into the forest and "cleared" dead brush but all we saw was movement from one spot to another spot 10 feet away. Did they actually haul it out, hose it down, burn it safely or otherwise truly get rid of it? No idea; not shown. Rose petal water, Bird takes a long satisfying drink and says it tastes like sugar, Rain's face says "Did you slip some of Matt's stash into your bottle?" Bear gets an extreme speech; again somethings never change. Had to suspend the drinking game for his barn monologue though, didn't want actual alcohol poisoning since he used the word approximately 1000 times in five minutes. Noah said McGyver things talking about the fire truck? And Gabe said they're putting "the mints on the pillows"? What happened to the we don't know pop culture and we're isolated shtick? Guess they'd claim they caught up on all that while stuck in California (for the believer fans) or, for us let's say more likely they know these sayings because they leave the local hotel each morning then watch Netflix in their trailers while the crew nails boards onto the barn before they have to go finish the last two nails in each board for the cameras. Now they have livestock in a "deal" - gloss over what the deal was for, money or trade for barn wood, money or trade for livestock, money or trade for a wedding, even how they got the hardware for the barn door rollers - never a mention of what the deal is or what they traded or, more important, where did the money come from Matt goes into the wilderness carrying..........the worlds largest rolling pin? (yes before you quote to correct me I know what it was) The finished fire truck - I can't even there's too much to single out except maybe.......why does it need the lights? Oh, yeah, because it's Noah and he can. Rhain Alicia understands how Noah's brain works? Nope, not touching that one with a 100 foot pole. Will they have another season? Will Bam's relationship be admitted to on air? Will Ami get her grandbabies (gulp!)? Does anyone still watch this because they think it's real?
  22. THAT was her?!? Never ever recognized her. Thing is I can't stand Brett Butler and I cringed when I heard they cast her and again when I saw her name in the credits. So they did sneak her past me because I didn't catch on at all. Guess that means the grieving parents will be around awhile and featured here and there though. Didn't find the episode as exciting as it could have been although we were Walker heavy and some with really excellent makeup but. Note to TPTB - we know there's a nobody is safe policy so anyone in danger could be killed.........but then stop showing future scenes of those same people. I'm not talking about spoilers or seeking out sneak peeks but just general commercials or "coming up on" snips. Do I believe Ezekial could be killed? Of course. Was I in suspense thinking it was going to happen at the museum? Not at all since they had showed snips of him and Carol kissing multiple times and those scenes hadn't been in the episode yet. Rick needs to stop trying to save Sanctuary. He can save the people if he wants but the location is a bad bet. Daryl is right; Neegan made it work by taking from other communities, the soil at that factory can't possibly have the nutrients and minerals that would make it work for farming which is going to be essential. They'd be better off building a satellite farm nearby, splitting everyone out to the other settlements or building a new settlement in a better location instead of pouring Hilltop and Alexandria's stockpiles into it. I think his focus on "mercy" made him lose sight of actual logic and planning. Loved the call back with Carol calling Daryl Pookie again and assuming the focus on Daryl is to start his journey to being a full on leader. It would (will?) actually be interesting to see how Daryl would handle Sanctuary if Rick wasn't around constantly insisting everyone prop them up with supplies.
  23. What I was worried about was whether that waiver and other paperwork that moved the trust to Ashely were hidden in the papers she brought for Delilah and Regina to sign. That whole "the restaurant building was meant for both of you" story she gave them seemed pretty shady. And when I say worried I don't mean worried for the characters; I actually mean worried because it's not a storyline I'd really want to see for the rest of the season (just my opinion on what plots I find interesting and some that I hate to watch). But the fact that she hasn't turned over the envelope she first found or the papers it lead her to is sneaky enough. I'd agree with this for many reasons. But mostly because people really, really determined don't project their decision. Some will even accidentally but most know if they gave away their plan they risk intervention or even involentary commitment plus, as you said, they're at peace with it. Once the decision is made and they see the course in front of them they're happy to have what they think is a resolution. Jon may have been that happy guy for real but at some point he started faking the happy to maintain how people saw him; even if he did that for years I have no problem with creating his character that way it would be completely true to life.
  24. That's the only part that didn't make sense to me in terms of planning - didn't they say something on the plane about a few more terrorists boarding the platform from a boat and that made the total about 12? If so and they knew boats were being used I couldn't figure out why they didn't have support for the possibility of more boats coming or at least another lookout keeping an eye on the sea while Clay kept watch on the rig. Clay's jump was terrifying (to someone who's not fond of heights) but since it was meant to be one of the more exciting parts of the show I wish they hadn't given it away in the commercials and previews. Points to CBS though for showing the entire rescue from boarding the ship to after that jump with no commercial break. Also liked Stella's comment to Clay - how she can handle his occupation and hazards but they need to be honest with each other about it. Not sure I like the hints of two plot lines that seem to be brewing: First one is Clay maybe being forced into academic social situations he either doesn't like or isn't prepared for; not that it's a terrible way to go but I'd hate it if they took it too far, made him look really dumb or all brawn no brains in front of Stella's co-workers or have him act dickishly rude to them. Second one is Sonny and his partying; again not a bad plot but my viewing preference would be to not take him into full drunken intervention territory or, worse, an impaired while on a mission episode.
  25. It’s the date. I know the USA is not like most of the world, we do MM/DD for date, most of the globe does DD/MM for date. Thanks! I never thought of date either way; MM/DD or DD/MM - I was thinking it had something to do with "score" like saying I'll give 6 out of 10 points but sometimes the numbers didn't make sense with that. Dates never crossed my mind but it all makes perfect sense. Thanks to Quarks & SheShark too. Off topic explanations gratefully accepted I now return you to your regularly scheduled snarking. :-)
