  1. https://tvline.com/lists/drag-race-all-stars-9-cast-list-release-date-paramount-plus/ It is odd there are only 8 queens. It's already sometimes painful when they drag out a full compliment of queens - this could get annoying. Possibly, as it is for charity, it will be a non-elimination season like Season 7 which will be better for me.
  2. Pleasantly surprised at the winner. I thought Sapphira turned out some great looks and always presented well, but there were a couple of times when she rubbed me the wrong way with her superiority complex. I was okay with her winning but glad Nymphia took it. Glad Jane didn't win and was third. She needed that smug look wiped away. She was a solid performer but I also think she was a bully and it bothers me that everyone let that continue considering what the drag community is going through. Tearing down each other is a bad display. Don't get me wrong, I love some good shade, but this was just venom. I get it's good TV, but the werkroom should be a safe space. I'm sure we'll get a Plane/Amanda face-off in a future All-Stars.
  3. Agreed. I hated the way it was done with the skipping rounds. They could've figured out a better way with an odd number of queens. This just shows that there should've been a top 4! (Kidding). Also agree on what's been said: Plasma should've won her round and Megami (and Mirage a bit) killed it and got their redemption. Where was this Megami during the competition? Also, Plane Jane, let it go! You hate Amanda. We get it...
  4. My husband and I both said that too. If a queen wore that on the stage, they would've been read for filth. It looked like a bad unconventional materials mess-up. I think she is amazing in lipsyncs but she just doesn't shine in the challenges or runway for me. So, I think her days are numbered but we will definitely see her as a lipsync assassin in the future. I enjoyed the Rusical - it was fun. I do think Sapphira should have won - she really made the most of her stage time.
  5. Yeah that was very distracting to me. The skin tone was off and it looked bad. Maybe she was purposely going for a "doll" aesthetic? 🙄 It would've been funny but they already used the gag a couple episodes ago. But, I do think a twist or something is needed. They leaned into the Rate-A-Queen and Immunity thing and then dropped it so suddenly. It was an odd choice to me. Either have it throughout or maybe one time but not the first 2 episodes and then hard stop.
  6. Just started so I’m way behind but I definitely prefer the first set of queens. Some good ones here though. I like most of them. I decided my problem with Jane is not that she’s bitchy and mean - it’s that she’s trying to be bitchy and mean and it comes across as fake and trying to become the villain of the season. She is talented so I hope she gets some redemption arc and goes far on her talents not because she’s good TV
  7. I do think this season is focusing too much on Diana. Maybe because I lived it, I'm kinda bored. I feel Elizabeth Debecki was so lauded here that they felt they had to milk it and extend this story. I'd rather they started this season after Diana's death - I don't feel this is adding much to the conversation. I'm much more interested in the Queen and what's going on with her as that stuff wasn't in the press as much. I like the subtle stories about events they dealt with and it was more focused on character, not what happened. I realize Diana's death was a thing for them to deal with, but I don't need multiple episodes leading up to it.

    Season 8

This shortened season just seems off to me. The subjects, while having good stories, for the most part don't seem very excited to be there. Then again, aside from Jonathan, I don't think the hosts are excited to be there. They all just seem to be going through the motions now. On a shallow note, Denton was bringing the Pedro Pascal-ness. He was super cute and did seem like a genuinely nice guy. His exchange with Jonathan about his name was so sweet.
  9. I'm all in this for Alan Cumming. He chews that scenery like a rabid goat and I love it. I don't watch the Housewives-type reality shows so I know very few of the people but it is still a fun watch. Can't wait for the turret scene to finish next week. Phaedra was pissed (although its a total overreaction). Kevin is hot but dude, close your mouth. I imagine he's probably a douche based on his show but I can still look at him. Also, Bergie is super cute so I wonder if he was as endearing on Love Island. Doesn't seem like the type of show he would be on. While I enjoy this show, it's basically nonsensical. The traitors basically have the run of things and have to do very little because someone belches and suddenly they're a traitor! There is just no incentive for the traitors really when it comes to challenges. I wish there was something like a separate pot for them and whatever the Faithfuls don't get, the traitors do so it's in their interest to sabotage.
  10. Same here. Las Vegas made me need to have a Silkwood shower and she was the main reason.
  11. Just finished watching the series and I have some thoughts. Scott Speedman is incredibly hot here but man, Ben was a terrible, terrible person. I know he had shitty circumstances growing up but I have whiplash from he and Felicity's back and forth and he was always such an ass. I really enjoyed John Ritter (RIP) as Ben's dad. Not a fan of the pregnant Lauren thing but he did elevate that storyline a lot. Also liked seeing a lot of these random CW-type actors in their early days (except Amy Smart - she annoys me). The biggest travesty on this show was the Elena character. She barely had any storyline ever and then they kill her off only to bring her back with no explanation. I know there were cut scenes explaining it, but it shows how little they thought of her to think the viewers wouldn't question it. I did enjoy the Javier/Elena friendship but it wasn't developed enough.
  12. Agree that this one wasn't as fun as the others. I enjoyed Derry Girls and It's a Sin because I had seen those shows. I do think these contestants were fun and good sports about it and I agree with the winner but overall it was forgettable.
  13. Yeah 161's pettiness with 302 was the final nail for him. If he had been more gracious, he might've made it out. And Dr V...what was he thinking? Making yourself so visible (and pushy) right before the vote was not the smartest idea. This was a time being a wallflower was a good idea.
  14. Yeah there was no way he would've made it through that first social challenge. I think they tried to humanize him with his talk with Leann, but to me it fell flat. Then he mocked someone for crying again and I was done with him.
  15. I came into this mainly for Matt Bomer (and a bit Jonathan Bailey) as I am big fan. But Hawk can be such an ass. I guess this is a testament to MB's portrayal that I love and hate him simultaneously. And I want to root for these 2 guys but I've realized while this is a love story, it is also a toxic relationship and as we know how it more-or-less ends, there is no happy ending here. It sucks for Tim because he never got to experience true happiness and it also sucks for Hawk because of the same (just in a different way). I will say that at first, Tim's sister annoyed me but as I've pondered, I realize she is totally justified and I hope she comes back and continues to give Hawk the death glare.
  16. Finished this last night. Not much more to add from my previous post but I will reiterate that Mark Ruffalo was miscast and a lot of things were dragged out for suspense that didn't need to be. I also read about the book to TV differences and there were some significant ones that made me question some of the TV choices. Although now I want to read the book so I guess that's a good thing!
  17. Yes she is his fiance. We saw her in Week 1 or 2 in the back story part for about 3 seconds. I do agree we need more "at home" time. Also, it was odd him saying he doesn't know what botanicals are because they've all known the theme of the week for a while. I guess he was just being cheeky. I wonder if he talks on screen, they have to pay him more or something? Like an extra versus a speaking role. But, I do love sign language and the silence of it is refreshing in a "chaotic" show like this.
  18. I tuned in for the hot leads and the promise of hot sex scenes and I enjoyed both (I also did not expect to see peen in this). But, I also actually enjoy the story. Matt Bomer playing as ass is an adjustment but he's good in the role. I think this first episode was supposed to show his hardness but at the end, he had softened with the request for cuddling. So, I hope moving forward, their relationship is a bit healthier. And I don't know why, but I was surprised by how much I like Allison Williams in this. I think the fact that I hated her on Girls still is in the back of my mind but in movies like Get Out and The Perfection, she has shown she actually can act so I'm on board.
  19. I've not read the book so I can't compare. I've watched the first 2 episodes and I'm mostly enjoying it. I'm not sold on Mark Ruffalo's accent. The Nazi's seem cartoonish at times (that doctor at the academy was way over the top). I'm also not sure we need the big cliffhangers each episode as it's only 4 to begin with. But, it's an interesting story and I'm excited to see where it goes.
  20. I am probably one of 5 people who don't really care for the Sazz character so am not looking forward to more of her next season (in flashback). But, I do think it will be a good mystery as it is personal to them. I am so happy Uma got an episode about her this season because I could watch Jackie Hoffman read a phone book. Her commentary at the play was magical. She's so good. It was weird with all the job offers for Loretta. I imagine she would have a contract with the musical to stay for a while. But maybe with the producers in jail and her romancing the director, it's not a concern. They should want to keep her though, since she seemed like the best part of the show. Overall, as a Broadway geek, I enjoyed the season and the mystery. The show is uneven at times and veers off on random tangents (the whole concierge doctor thing kinda went nowhere except to get Oliver on stage) but a good season overall.
  21. I think Roo was talented but the last couple of episodes she gave off this superiority vibe which I didn’t love. It obviously bothered her to not get a ding dong towards the end. But having said that, she did deserve to make it to the finals as did the other two. Saphron deserved the win and am happy for her. And speaking to stank attitudes, Wezley annoyed me a bit too. He was way too cocky at times and I actually laughed when he was so confident in that faceoff with the Smokey eye and then got cut. He did not see that coming. Overall an okay season. I feel they keep veering into FX as the primary makeup and I love the glamour looks.
  22. I know this show has so much history but I really wanted a Crushinator/Bender scene in the Momazon episode. The pandemic one was interesting. I'm glad Hermes (and LaBarbara) got to shine but thought the whole voodoo thing was just a bit off to me. I did both laugh and cringe at the Professor sticking that swab up his nose.
  23. Didn't Mabel say in Season 1 that she is wearing her aunt's clothes? Or maybe the aunt buys her outfits. I do wonder how Mabel eats and pays for anything though. Agreed on the Joy disappointment. I was so rooting for them and they seemed so sweet together last season but they've leaned into Andrea Martin's quirky abilities to the extreme. Also, did they mention her moving in before this episode? It seemed out of nowhere but I may have just missed it.
  24. Thanks I missed that part but makes sense. I just assumed the Paris trip was into the summer since they finished their exams.
  25. I loved the Tao/Elle arc this season. I love Charlie/Nick but their story seemed a bit of the same each episode with Nick fretting about coming out and Charlie reassuring him. So I am glad he is out now and we can move on. Hope we delve into the eating disorder a bit more. I felt this season was somewhat filler and more a bridge to next season because so many good stories were set up: Darcy and her mom, Elle's art school adventures, the teachers' relationship, and Isaac's figuring himself out. Also, as a 'Murican, do proms always happen at the end of summer/start of school in the UK? Here they tend to be in the spring/end of school. When they were first talking about it, I thought "they are really planning ahead!".
