Hi everyone, thank you for your input. As I’m assuming you can tell, the moderator team concluded to finish out the season with individual episode topics. (We thought it best for continuity/organizational purposes). Since Real Time With Bill Maher is a show that’s watched and commented on by episode and where comments are specific to an episode (as opposed to a show that may be binge-watched and commented on in more general terms), we’re currently leaning towards keeping individual episode topics for next season, too. But we’re open to seasonal topics if members who frequent the forum think it makes more sense. Per request, you can find guidance for creating a topic here.

Topic titles should be created following the format: SXX.EXX: Guests (eg: S22.E32: Megyn Kelly, Jared Polis & Van Jones) A list of guests can be found at wikipedia. S22 If you'd like to create the topic ahead of time and no guests have been announced yet (as is the case for E33), guests should be listed as TBD. As a post is required to create a new topic, we usually include a synopsis when we create a topic. However, it's not always available or easily available. Below, you'll find a generic synopsis that can be copied and pasted. Alternatively, you can also include the air date only, copy & paste the guests again or share what you're looking forward to (or not) for the upcoming episode.

So, anyway, about the use of narcissism to describe a self-centered person… Kindly keep in mind that not everyone who is self-centered and egoistical is also a narcissist. While narcissism is defined as “excessive interest in or admiration of oneself and one's physical appearance“, narcissism is a personality disorder. Using the term indiscriminately not only undermines the seriousness of the disorder, it also impacts any individual affected by it. Please refrain from using the term to demean or insult and consider one of the many alternatives to describe a self-centered individual. Thank you!

Hi everyone, in reference to the posts that were removed from the previous page… When discussing with your fellow posters, please remember that we’re a community made up of individuals from all walks of life. Our backgrounds, upbringings and experiences differ and because they do, we each perceive life, and all that comes with it, differently. We each are impacted by life’s challenges differently and even when they’re the same challenges, the impact they have on us is determined by our individual circumstances; a situation that was easy to deal with for one individual may be much harder for another as they may not have the same support or faced a previous challenge another individual has not faced. Likewise, a more harmless-seeming issue can still be just as much of an issue to one individual as a more severe-seeming can be to another when taken the individual circumstances into account. Therefore, please be mindful of the other person’s perspective when you disagree. Keep criticism constructive and disagree in ways that acknowledge and respect the perception, impact and feelings of the individual you disagree with. Recognize that our individual perceptions, impact and feelings are equally valid. “Listen” not with the goal to win the argument or best another poster but with the intent to understand; sometimes, a member may just be in need of empathy, so understanding the other poster’s perspective and/or situation can help turn disagreements to support and encouragement. Thank you.
