Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
zxy556575 replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
I never saw anyone cleaning out Rosie the way I had to with the Roomba, either. Needed to dissemble and pull all the tangled hair and carpet fibers out of the brush roller. Yeah. That thing got given away. -
This is an excerpt from an op-ed piece in the Canadian Globe and Mail, endorsing HRC that was posted in the Trump thread. "As a politician, however, something about Ms. Clinton has always rubbed a lot of Americans the wrong way, and the Democratic Party’s decision to nominate her was a political error." Sorry, but fuck that noise. Do most people believe that's the general sentiment? She won the damned primaries. HRC certainly had a lot Republican pre-hate going on, but they and their true blue supporters would have lied about and obstructed anybody the Democrats put up. ANYBODY.

Donald John Trump: 2016 President-Elect
zxy556575 replied to Notwisconsin's topic in Current Events & Politics
So we're all on the same page, Trump isn't going on trial for rape. No trial has been scheduled. District Judge Ronnie Abrams has ordered both sides to appear for an initial status conference about the lawsuit on December 16th at the U.S. District Court in Manhattan. The lawsuit seeks $75,000 in damages. -
I assume this is/was fairly accurate with regard to the royal household, but it's horrible the way numerous staff are always hovering around and intruding into private moments. Private pajama moments! Not to mention setting up an operating theater in some spare rooms in the palace. Everyone welcome to pop in! Take out a lung and wrap it in old newspaper like an order of fish and chips. I've always felt ever so slightly repulsed by Prince Philip and this is not changing my prejudice in that regard. This is my election-related mood swings talking, but the whole colonialism thing with African people obsequiously leaping to serve and kissing the Queen's feet, etc. made me cry roid rage-y tears.

Late Night With Seth Meyers - General Discussion
zxy556575 replied to Words's topic in Late Night With Seth Meyers
The show really committed to the pee song, I'll give it that. -
Stella was definitely fixated on Spector, sexually or not. I wouldn't imagine she's consumed by every suspect the same way. I think she saw him as her own dark side doppelganger.

For a collection the judges all supposedly liked, they sure tore it apart in their critique. "Happy to tailor our comments to suit the storyline!"

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"

Oy. You know how microwave popcorn leaks some of the "butter" onto the carousel? I usually put a paper towel underneath but sometimes that's not thick enough. In lieu of having to, sigh, wash the carousel, I had the brilliant idea to use a dishcloth instead. Set for 2 minutes. Bing! Okaaaay, that's really scorched. I threw the blackened dishtowel in the kitchen trashcan. Maybe 20 minutes later, the house still smelled strongly of burnt terrycloth and I went back to kitchen and opened the lid of the trash can. Smoke poured out to the extent that I couldn't even see inside. I got a pair of tongs, dug around, and threw the now flaming dishcloth into the kitchen sink. Turned on the water. More smoke from that. I put the trashcan on the porch to air it out and opened some windows. The annoying part (besides my dumbnicity) -- neither the kitchen nor the adjacent breakfast nook smoke detector ever went off. -
TDS 3.0: Season Two Talk

Loved this ep! I remember not really enjoying RW Jr. when he was first on the show but he's now my favorite correspondent. He and Trevor have a real ease with each other. Congrats on the Cubs win, Roy! I assumed he had left the desk right away, but nope, still there. Made me laugh. I appreciated Trevor's coverage of the Senate races, tragic and angrifying as it was. "Shit's about to get vague." Julian Assange on the other end of the seashell. Funny because, true. -
Ah, thanks. Somewhat mollified.

Half of those in the photo gallery don't have outlines. Heh. This is Adam Levine's recent back tattoo. Hoo boy. He was on the Ellen show today and didn't say who the artist is, but that's a jacked face on the mermaid holding the skull of a misshapen giant. The judges would plotz if this was done by one of the IM finalists.

Late Night With Seth Meyers - General Discussion
zxy556575 replied to Words's topic in Late Night With Seth Meyers
I was curious if Seth's sharp campaign coverage has resulted in increased ratings, but I got tired of looking for year-to-year ratings. The NBC juggernaut of Tonight Show and Seth regularly beat their time slot competitors, so that's good. I didn't think he was in any danger, but I'd be unhappy if he was replaced for some reason. Last month from Variety: "Meyers, recently bested even Colbert and Kimmel thanks to his lead-in and (perhaps) his status as the lone broadcaster focusing on politics, averaged a 0.45 rating among adults 18-49 for the last year. Cordon averaged a 0.32 rating." -
Stan Against Evil - General Discussion

I'm optimistic so far. I don't watch any, er, similar shows but I liked this on its own. McGinley strikes the right note of vestigial responsibility warring with his bone-weary don't give a fuckedness. I also liked that Evie jumped in feet first, no sniveling. -

I mean ... the man has adult ADHD, right? From the Mayo Clinic: Adult ADHD symptoms may include: • Impulsiveness • Disorganization and problems prioritizing • Problems focusing on a task • Excessive activity or restlessness • Poor planning • Low frustration tolerance • Frequent mood swings • Problems following through and completing tasks • Hot temper • Trouble coping with stress -
It's an "edgy" and "gritty" show. Somebody's gotta die, right?
-
Good lord. I didn't realize this is planned to be 60 bloody episodes. I hate old age makeup.
-
I might have watched if the entire series had been released at once but I can't be bothered to remember when a new episode comes on. I've never noticed the show promoted on the Hulu home page, either. (Because, Mindy Project in constant rotation.) I'll probably watch the finale just to find out who died. Fingers crossed it's that nitwit Eldon!

That was good, along with Trevor's extended bit about how Hillary's experiences align with black Americans. I really appreciate the minority and outsider perspective Trevor brings to the show. -
Several of the hashtag war answers made me chuckle, but Norton's pray-away the gay camp with a marvelous theater department sent me into a snickering fit.

Two co-workers got into it today on FB, with one saying Trump is God's instrument. God sometimes uses bad people for good, you see. Of course, the Trump supporter would not allow that HRC might be someone bad whom God could use for good.- 8.1k replies

I'd like Walt to realize he's unsuited to police work and retire to happiness with his friends, daughter, and ranch. Let Ferg be the Chief. :)

Kat was a nervous screamer and crier herself as a client. This is dumb, but I scraped a fingernail around my body to test sensitivity. The ribs were about the same as stomach, arms, legs, back, head. The palms and soles of my feet were much worse.
