  1. The show is poorly plotted and ridiculous and I don't care about any of the team, but I'm still hanging in for some reason. Guess I'm curious where they can possibly take it?
  2. There are only two options when getting hit by a TV car: roll easily through it and pop right up again or fall down and die. If the victim is dead, blood will be trickling out of his or her mouth.
  3. I don't think that word means what she thinks it means.
  4. I completely understand, but it's sad. For me, I don't need Sam to be funny these days. I can't stomach broadcast news and am relying on her to give me the gist along with a healthy dose of anger. It's all a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad thing, but I still need to know where to direct my fight. The political forums have been good about sharing factual links that point out lies and other horrors.
  5. Facebook needs to die. I wish I could protest by closing my account but I did that several years ago due to their privacy policies. My only regret about FB collapsing would be for the loss to Zuckerberg's philanthropic charities.
  6. My only hope is that the broadcast news and print publications will finally wake the hell up and stop normalizing Trump when he begins following through on some of his threats to sue, lock up, incite violence, get revenge, and limit their first amendment rights. Although none of that seemed to trouble them much during the campaign. Reporters at Trump rallies WERE PUT IN PENS and not allowed to mingle! For fuck sake, what will it take?
  7. No need to fret! All verified mail in ballots are absolutely counted because there are other races and initiatives on them. Some states count them as they come in, or even first.
  8. Re Bannon's disheveled and bloated appearance, at least we can say that the Pumpkin Plutocrat doesn't discriminate against ugly, overweight white MEN. I can only assume that the term "elite establishment" refers to well-educated, wealthy, privileged men like Trump, Giuliani, the Bushes, and the Koch Brothers.
  9. Seth Meyers praised the rise of homemade signs last night:
  10. He also said he doesn't "know" Bannon personally and therefore ... has no concerns. This is the same Bannon who has said he wants to "destroy all of today's establishments" including the GOP. That's discouraging but expected. I don't like to use call or letter templates because it becomes "partisan" noise to politicians who aren't prepared to listen in the first place. I'm still thinking about the red/blue voting map by counties and remain dispirited. What bothers me is not the total amount of each color, which we know is about equal due to population density, but I'm sad for blue people who live in all those saturated red zones and entire states. I'm one of them and it takes a toll.
  11. The Taylor woman said hate crimes have been committed against her because of her "I'm absolutely not a racist!" post about Michelle. Hate crimes are a “criminal offense against a person or property motivated in whole or in part by an offender's bias against a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender, or gender identity." Don't think you qualify, Pamela. Lipstick and hair dye abuse aren't protected. Good luck with any defamation cases as well. Her own words got her fired.
  12. What about the shade closers in airplane window seats?
  13. The production company is Studio Lambert; I shot them an email for whatever it's worth. Pretty shabby of them to leave the cast hanging, even if it's just to say that Bravo hasn't notified them if the show is being picked up or not.
  14. Sure, Stephen. Invite Bernie Sanders on your show, ask him a serious question about politics, then remind him to "Keep it light! This is late night!" Either he wants the show to be pungent and opinionated or he wants to be Fallon and pander for ratings. Can't have it both ways.
  15. I think I've reached my Doug Benson saturation point, but I did smile at the orange crate sight gags.
  16. I really liked this although the previews show it taking quite a dark turn. I'm not familiar with either of the leads but there was believable tension and chemistry between them, especially on Javier's part. It should be interesting to see them try to one-up and outplay each other. One minor quibble is making Letty's mother such a downmarket redneck. I understand tough love and needing to sever relationships with addicts, but she was a straight up asshole.
  17. Ah, Trevor. You remain my oasis in a landscape of shifting orange media sand. Now, ahem. Am I honestly supposed to listen to anything that comes out of Nate "The Weasel" Silver's mouth? I never went to his site -- check my IP! -- but saw enough people clinging to and quoting it to make me roll my eyes. He and his ego can bite me.
  18. I adore activist John but also genuinely feel sorry for him because he tried so hard not to turn the show into the Rump Review. Next season, I'm afraid it's all the eye can see.
  19. Dear people running from bad guys: Why do you always opt to turn off a busy street into a dead end alley? Is it just so you can try and fail to climb the chain link fence at the end? Sweet Jerusalem on a bicycle.
  20. You have my full sympathy, @Bastet. I'm not claustrophobic but crawl spaces give me the genuine creeps. Won't do it, no sir, no way. My former handyman was a retired electrician who did odd jobs to keep busy; I might have felt a little bad sending a 72 year old down that grate, but send him I did. My current house is on a goddamned slab the way the universe intended.
  21. Am I supposed to like her and overlook her many lies and deceptions? Maybe it's the actress and her angular, pointy face, but her flashbacks annoy me.
  22. There have been many suggestions to contact elected officials to let them know how we feel, but I for one am going to do the same with the broadcast media. They cannot be allowed to continue shamefully lowering the bar on journalistic standards and hand-waving away the rhetoric of a man who calls for illegal, unconstitutional, treasonous behavior as well as actual war crimes, all in the guise of "fairness" or "impartiality." It is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
  23. I saw some of the President's press conference today. I'm not sure what the point was. Trying to reassure people? He had to be diplomatic when answering questions about Agent Orange's ability to lead. I'm looking forward to Obama being unleashed to speak his mind after January (if he even has any interest in doing so).
  24. I'm not real optimistic that my Republican representative would pretend to care. And Rubio the lickspittle? Feh. I did write a letter to our Democratic Senator; that way I have a copy. Political offices always send some kind of form letter in return so at least I know mine was received. John Oliver recommended donations to: Planned Parenthood, Center for Reproductive Rights, Natural Resources Defense Council, International Refugee Assistance Project, NAACP Legal Defense Fund, The Trevor Project, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.
  25. Is it official? Balls. I need some smiles more than ever these days.
