  1. Clearly I am the only one who feels this way but Connor is the one character I have never been able to stand. I have hated and liked or semi-liked every other character but can’t find it for him. Last year Connor was the one I wanted dead and I would be quite pleased if he is the one who gets done in this season. Now that Oliver has been entrenched in the group in a way that is independent of Connor, I would love to be free of him forever.
  2. I agree that this season really highlights the fact that certain characters can and quite frankly need to go sooner rather than later. These characters are Connor, Nate and Laurel. I said last season and will say it again even though I’m back on the hate Bonnie train. When all is said and done those left standing and united should be Annalise, Frank and Bonnie. I like Michaela and Asher, so I hope they make it to move on together. I’m not a fan of Oliver with Connor, but could see a place for Oliver in a post Connor world.
  3. My thoughts this week: I loved Sammi and Lucas; I loved Sammi and John, I especially liked how as angry as she was, when John comforted her by caressing her arms, she didn’t flip out at his gestureof kindness (too bad blandly blank was there borifying what was otherwise good); I loved Sammi and Marlena; I loved Sammi aat Will’s grave; I loved Sammi with Eric. The only Sammi scene I was meh on was the Chad scene. However, I am not as enamored with that actor as others are and every time I see new Abby, by the time I figure out who she is, I am no longer interested in the scene. I loved the Bonnie and Maggie movie sequences, but if this ridiculous storyline isn’t wrapped up soon, my head will explode. When Adrienne returns I would be beyond pissed at my so-called loved ones. I mean Justin has been aint ish for a minute, but Sonny not seeing the truth would be a bit more than I can rationalize. Thank goodness for Jo (who I fanfic to be calling from beyond the grave since Joy Garrett, the only Jo Johnson, it no longer among the living). I continue loving Lucas. I thought the decision to reshoot the Sammi and Lucas at the morgue scene with Will was and interesting, but ultimately unnecessary one. I loved Kayla on Wednesday because it was a rare instance of late where crapping on her to prop up the greater glory of all things Steve was not thr focal point; so naturally, we got Thursday, because what purpose does Kayla serve if she can’t be a prop for the crap the “great love of her life” subjects her too. Dear show, there is nothing you can ever say or do that will ever make me ee the character of Tripp as anything other than the hell spawn of the demonic Ava; but since you don’t really care about Kayla or her fans, I guess you are fine with that.
  4. So Shonda and company now actively hate the viewers so much they thought we wanted a Fitz-centered episode. When is the final episode of the series? Based on this foolishness alone, it’s clear that final air date is long past due. Although I gave up on Grimm with the whole Nick and Adaline pairing, I totally get you. That’s why I’m still here. I’m still watching the beyond awful Supernatual, hell, I just finally gave up on The Blacklist last week.
  5. I love your entire post. I for one am tired of Laurel and Connor “friendships” with Michaela centering on their using her and treating her like crap, but hey, it’s okay because they’re her “friends. I still can’t believe that the more I see of Asher and Michaela, the more they become my OTP for this show. I hope those crazy kids make it and are still standing strong as a couple when the show ends. I have long felt that Nate worked as Annalise’s sex toy, but as a viable, independent character, he leaves much to be desired. Maybe he is okay with some of the younger actors, but his limitations are glaring when he is with voters of actual caliber. This episode solidified that Oliver is truly awful. He is a self-serving manipulator who masks his dirt under the bruise of “doing what is best for Connor.” I actually and actively disliked him more than I disliked Connor and Connor has long been the character on this show I couldn’t care less about if I tried. I hate Laurel and Frank version whatever version this is. I never found them appealing as a couple and their scenes in this episode were disgusting. I wonder what about Annalise is Jimmy Smits’ character’s weakness. I love Lauren Velez so much. I hope they find a way to incorporate her character into the show some more.
  6. I can see her pregnancy being all about her weight. The health issues surrounding her size and pregnancy; being bed-ridden because of her size and possibly worst of all, not being able to carry to them because of her weight.
  7. Lee’s wife married him because he tricked her into thinking the man she really loved was gay — does she ever look at Lee and see the sublime irony of her actions?
  8. Okay, so the fact that Daniels himself stated this when questioned about making the lead on Star white isn’t enough to convince you. I think you can find it on line. He talks about casting a white lead on Star because he felt that it would heal the country and people could embrace the white lead, or some such foolishness.
  9. I’m sorry but Vi is right about Holywood’s co-worker. Something isn’t right with him and I dont believe he has good intentions towards Hollywood RA is jealous that other people are “know it alls” because he is the ultimate know nothing. Still not interested in Charley’s mother. Her lack of self-esteem still doesn’t change the fact that we have seen little indication that Ernest loved Nova the way he loved Charley and his crap son. People can’t blame Vi for that. Nova felt unloved by her father and the fact that he did nothing to dissuade her of the feeling while he was alive and his personal belongings found in the aftermath of his death only confirmed Nova’s feelings speak volumes.
  10. I couldn’t agree more, but remember that Lee Daniels feels that he has to make WW feel loved and better bout themselves, so Queen Face-Lift and her equally surgified daughter will be back making us want to vomit in our mouths sooner than you know it.
  11. Jamal is my second favorite character behind Cookie, but I can’t believe how straight stupid he is. No way does someone in Jamal’s position not have people coming so directly into their orbit investigated. Since he chooses to believe any sucker who crosses his path, I can’t really hurt for him when he finds out he is being played. I know Andre is a Lyon, but where does the show go from here with his character? WIll he get away with his crimes and live to scheme another day? Will his treachery but revealed but he be kept aroun d for sits and giggles like other characters who no longer have an actual place on the show? Hakeem remains an embarrassment to brain cells. Can’t remember nothing Lucious is temporarily a better person but we know this will never last, so I’lm not going to invest much in the new and improved Lucifer.
  12. Thanks. Hopefully they will res how the scene on Monday.
  13. My thoughts on this week’s episodes: 1) The show is doing a poor jobs with creating the next generation of viable villains. Brady as a villain would work. I think in the hands of a stronger actor, Sonny as a villain could work because it seems like his character has done quite a few bad things, but FS, just can’t sell it. The actor who who plays Paul might work as a villain because he is so bland and forgettable the way he is written now. The semi-frantic desperation I’m starting to see from him could lead to interesting places if the show is smart enough to let the story go there. I saw an episode of Hawaii Five-O I think and the actor who plays Paul was on there and actually impressive, so I think he could definitely rock the heal turn. 2) Bryan D. continues to shine as Lucas. I’m looking forward to the show transitioning him from drunk Lucas whole continuing to fully utilize the character. 3) Why is that horrible Adrienne/Bonnie story still going on? 4) I love Eric and Nicole, but it is so clear the show isn’t going to vomit and make them a real and full-fledge couple so it’s impossible for me to invest in their scenes. 5) DH continues to remind me why Marlena has always been one of my favorites. The show is really using her smartly as of late and I hope they keep it up. 6) Why is Chloe still on the show? Unless I’m missing something, aside from being a busy-body, she is serving no real purpose. Is the show trying to position her to be the new bad-girl of the show. 7) The character of Lani still does not work. Don’t know whether it’s the actress, the lackluster way she was introduced (of course she is Abe’s daughter, I mean she’s black right. I’m just Waiting for the inevitable pairing with Eli ...because...) Forty years of viewing and Days has made little progress in its treatment of black characters. 8) Trump came on to talk about something and ruined the late fifteen minutes of Friday’s show, so I have no idea what the cliffhanger was.
  14. Who would have thought based on the way he was brought onto the show that I would emphatically state that Jake is far too good for Olivia, who is awful beyond belief. I hope he finds happiness without her, but I strongly suspect based on Liv’s treatment of him that Jake won’t make it out of the season alive. Not interested in Quinn and assoiciates. The only one I have an interest in is Huck and given who and what he is, that speaks volumes as to the content of the characters of the others on this show. David still getting punked, he is actually the show’s longest running joke. Poppa Pope warned Olivia that if she continues on this path she will crash and burn and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person. Liv is truly the most despicable person on the show. I actually don’t mind her wind up with Fitz now because they are both insufferable and finally getting each other is the punishment they both deserve. The show will sadly spin this as some great love match rather than the pairing of the lowest of the low that it is.
  15. Just finished watching this week’s episodes. 1) No comment of Monday because it was not shown in NY for obvious reasons, I am however disappointed that NBC chose not to air the episode of Tuesday. 2) When did the actor who plays Sonny become so bad. He used to be enjoyable. Is it the path the show has taken with his character, or just hm? 3) He and the actor who plays Paul have no chemistry, so Paul’s claims of his great love for Sonny ring hollow and silly rather than heartfelt and moving. I still don’t know why posters call his character Sparkle, cause that guy is deadly dull to the point of me actually trailing off when ever he is in a scene. 4) I still can’t take Hope, Rafe or Hope and Rafe. I might have to go back to ff in order to be able to stick with this return. 5) Nicole works so much better with Eric than Brady, so naturally we will never get that. Just as the show dropped the ball on Eric and Jennifer, I pairing I surprisingly thought had real promise, I’m sure Eric and Nicole are going nowhere fast. 6) Marlena’s scenes with John, Sonny and Ben were really well done. DH did most of the heavy lifting when with Sonny, but the actor who plays Ben was actually good and strangely likable and compelling for a serial killer. 7) Are Andre and Kate a thing? 8) I continue to like Gabi and Eli but while an extremely beautiful woman with to die for hair, that actress who plays Gabi isn’t that strong an actress either. 9) I like that Lucas is finally getting more screen time, I just which t wasn’t rooted in his return to alcoholism, even though addiction is a life-long battle so this fall is all too real.
  16. I love Cicely Tyson. SHe continues to amaze. Annalise’s father continues to be a crappy person. I still hate Connor and would have preferred he was killed. He remains awful. I’ll try cause I love Viola and have surprisingly come to love the two characters I liked the least when the show started, Frank and Bonnie. However, absent Wes to balance out these insipid characters, I don’t know if I will be able to stick with the show. I’m disappointed the Benito Martinez’s DA is back. I literally hate his face at this point. Something is definitely up with the Jimmy Smits character. You don’t cast an actor like Smits for him to simply play the shoulder to cry on. Although, House did just that with it casting of Andre Braugher. The show got me all hype for him and then the show did nothing with his character. I guess we have seen the last of Lauren Velez’s character. Hopefully the asshat law student will not be returning this season.
  17. Not if this is the final season of the show.
  18. I just watched this week’s episodes. I am not thrilled with Ghost Will, even though I knew he would be a ghost. Strangely Ghost Will is a problem because CM was not Will when the character died, so it makes it hard even IMO for the non-spoilered to not go “Oh Will must be coming back.” When AMC had Darnell Williams come back as Angel Jesse to guide Tad in times of stress, it was the same actor and it was clear that he was there to continue the role he played in the former Tad the Cad’s life. No one could seriously think that the show got CM back to do a couple of “I’m a ghost pop ups.” I did like Will appearing in bed with Sonny because I never bought Sonny and Paul as a couple who truly cared for, let alone had some great love for one another) It seems like Eli and Gabby are good friends with great chemistry. Is the show trying to set them up as a future couple, or will they go the tried and true Days route with black characters and shove Eli and Lani together regardless of their chemistry because they are the only non-related black characters, ala Lexie and Abe (who worked for a while until you saw RJ smolder with pretty much any man who came into her orbit and then the lack of interest and care the show has for its black characters became clear). I love the show remembering that Abe and Nicole actually had a close relationship and their conversation was about Eric and what she is feel8ng for him wrang true. I continue to insist that the only time this version of Brady worked was when he and a Eric were actually presented as loving brothers. Aside from the fact that these scenes were some of the only ones where Brady is not just simply the worst; this worked because it enabled GV to gently assist BH with his acting, whereas when they are at odds, the imbalance in their acting skills becomes really visible.
  19. I tuned in this week to try to be caught up for the Will return. I haven't watched so the Marlena/Hattie stuff was meh for me. I don't like the Adrienne/Bonnie story. So no one, not her brother, not her son, not the man she was married to for almost thirty years realizes that Bonnie is not Adrienne? Well, guess what group of people would be dead to me once I was finally freed from languishing in jail. When Kate seems go be suspecting something is up when nobody else is, there's a problem. I'm glad that CM is back is Will (his Will and Mop Head Will were my favorite portrayals of the character), hopefully it won't simply be dream sequences (which I think is what we saw Friday), of a short term thing to wrap up his story in a way that RC thinks will make people stop hating the show for what happened. I can't even enjoy Hope anymore because the show has made me hate her. I never could stand Rafe so every scene with them together and most likely with others will be FF moments for me. Of the workmen I used to love, the show has ruined Hope and Jennifer for me. They use Kayla like the show's toilet paper especially when it comes to propping Steve and his never ending assortment of skanks and now the spawns that he produces with them, so I hate the show for that MBE and Kayla deserve better. Given these things, I guess it's good that I missed the Marlena/Hattie mess. IMO, Brady has always been an entitled little brat. The only times I have really liked him was when he and Eric were super close. I don't know whether it is the character or the character, but this version of Brady has always struc me as being a whole lot of nothing. Between the horrible "acting" and whatever is going on with JT's face now, the character of Roman needs to be retired. I mean when DH's face looks more natural and human than JT's face, it is time for the actor/character to be sidelined. Hopefully I can find a reason to stick with eh show more than a few months this check in.
  20. So Ozzy/Wyatt is really gone from the show?
  21. Cause he's an ass who never sees or supports Kayla's position unless there is something in it for him. And if you knew how much I loved the Steve and Steve and Kayla original recipe (I spent countless hours rewatching their love story on YouTube an d did so more than once), you would understand how feeling this way pains my heart.
  22. How can an eight episode show seem so plodding? The female cop who keeps sharing information with Cora's huband needs to be fired, if not prosecuted for her enabling of the obstruction of the case. Are any of the officers on this show competent? How do you declare the person has been dead for three-four years and then say it has been dead no more than ten years? Just say the person has been dead for no more than ten years idiot. Also, when asked what led you to the crime scene, you say mushrooms are growing. I guess we better dig up the ground wherever we come across a mushroom. I mean really, you went looking for the bus knowing what you would likely find, yet you had no explanation for your actions worked out.
  23. This season just strikes me as being rudderless. It's as if the current show runners have forgotten that we tune in to see Ray Donovan, the way he handles the problems that come his way and the ways in which he incorporates and excludes his family from the world he inhabits. We aren't getting this this season. Instead, we are getting Hardly Ray Donovan, the chronicles of his unlamented by most viewers wife, his dopey relatives and his horrid kids. No-one signed up for this, and I can't imagine that the ratings for this season are going to be comparable to the ratings of other seasons. I noted in the thread for episode 1, I think that it feels as if the show is ending, but those running it are unsure of how to wind it down; and rather than go full balls against the walls for the Liev Schrieber show, they are watering things down and going out like a lamb.
  24. I don't know what we are supposed to be getting from this show. We have the entire backstory and the events leading up to Cora becoming involved with her husband; the flashbacks to childhood; and viewer naming who they are suspicious of, but we know who the killer is. The only person I am suspicious of is Bill Pullman. Why is he so intent on trying to find a scapegoat/explanation for Cora's crime. His interest in her is sick, twisted and unrealistic, making the entire story preposterous. The show only has eight episodes but as someone pointed out upthread, four episodes is way more than enough for this story.
  25. I was joking.
