  1. wow, if I lived in Atlanta, I'd love to go check it out. Looks like a lot of good stuff. Funny I can't actually recall any of those things on the show but i guess I just never really noticed. I wonder why they went so designer for some of the clothes though. The characters on the show aren't shown to be super wealthy and seem to be more middle to upper middle class and they work and probably still paying off student loans, so I'm not sure how realistic wearing some of those high end designer clothes really are.
  2. I like little Gigi too. She looks like she really could be Nic and Conrad's daughter. I think she's cute. I haven't watched the last 2 episodes yet (still catching up on my DVR) and while I don't hate the show, it definitely has not reached the potential it had. I especially hate the storylines involving the finances and politics of funding a hospital because they never ever talk about Georgia's refusal to expand Medicaid as part of the ACA and how that impacts the hospital's bottom line. Instead, it's just some big bad governor who apparently has the discretion to defund specific hospitals just because he doesn't like Kit. It just seems like a total copout for them to ignore this fact about the lack of Medicaid expansion because they film in Georgia and need the tax credits they get for filming there and don't want to piss off the politicians in that state. It's a dishonest storyline and I wish they never went there. I would have just preferred that they stick to medical cases for their storylines.
  3. Catching up on my dvr... I liked the cat lady story but think it would have been funnier if the cat actually talked, instead of having it turn into a big sloppy human. Didn't like the high school reunion storyline, and it was too much like Romy and Michele. Since they made it through their entire adult lives without having any other adult relationships, I agree that they had an unhealthy co-dependency. Lots of people are awkward and are geeks in high school but outgrow it but they apparently couldn't. Breaking up, or at least taking a break from each other, is probably the healthiest thing for each of them as they were holding each other back.
  4. I agree with your comment about Kaylene. I don't know why it took the police and prosecutors so long to build a case against Juan. They had her statement that she was raped and assaulted, photos of her graphic injuries and DNA. Yes, I know that they stated they couldn't find him, but I question how hard they tried. I think they didn't actually believe her and just made some half-hearted attempts to find Juan by going to his mom's house and his sister's house but then shrugged their shoulders and were like meh, can't find him. I mean, he was out and about in town, going to bars, and they couldn't find him?? BS. I too wondered why the family was using those obviously filtered photos of Rita in the posters. You'd think the family would want to use photos of her that looked like what she would like if you randomly saw her on the street, not what she posts on Instagram or Snapchat in heavily edited and filtered photos. And how disgusting was it that when Juan got picked up by border patrol and when he asked what his warrant was for and they said rape, he was all "sweet!". He figured that his lies about Kaylene had already swept the community and he could talk his way out of it. To me, that shows he knew the cops didn't try hard to pin that on him and he thought he could get out of it. He was more concerned that they didn't find Rita's body yet.
  5. I saw parts of episode 1 while I was at the gym and I have to agree with those that say Tarek basically just swapped out Christina for a slightly younger twin. There really is no point to this show, other than because they just want to stay on tv and get free publicity for their business, which if HGTV is willing to pay them and people are willing to watch, why not? I've seen some of the older Flip or Flop shows before Tarek and Christina became famous and rich, when they were flipping smaller and older houses in SoCal and it felt more like an actual business than just doing it for tv filming purposes and to "build a brand" for social media. Now it seems that they are on tv just for the sake of being on tv and the multi-million dollar homes are less relatable. I also don't think we need to see so much "personal" stuff, but the show is an hour so I guess they have to have filler. The 30 minute Flip or Flop episodes were easier to watch and you could watch the whole thing without investing a big chunk of time.
  6. New Alex Murdaugh episode tonight. I wonder if they had to do some fast editing to include the verdict, since it seems like the verdict came back really fast. Although it makes you wonder why they would have scheduled this episode to air before a verdict was known, if that was the original plan. I'm glad the jury saw through his lies. I was home on the second day of Alex Murdaugh's time on the stand and so I saw a lot of his testimony and cross-examination. He just really had no credibility. His admitting that he lied about being at the kennels right before they were shot was completely self-serving and only came about because numerous family and friends testified that it was his voice on the video and he could no longer get away with continuing to perpetuate that lie. Also, there was just no credible opportunity for anyone else to have committed the crime. The 2 guns that could have been used to prove or disprove if they were the murder weapons were both conveniently missing. The dogs never detected that there was a stranger near by, lying in wait for Alex to leave so they could shoot Paul and Maggie? I know it was the defense that wanted the jury to visit the property but I bet that backfired because once they saw how big and isolated the property was, it just became clear there was no way that anyone else had opportunity. As for motive, I firmly believe Alex is a narcissist and a family annihilator. Also he made a big deal out of the opioids making him paranoid and that's why he lied but by that same logic, the opioids could have made him paranoid and not thinking clearly and so he made up some twisted logic in his head that his family would be better off dead than with him disgraced. I'm sure Buster is probably secretly relieved that his father is off behind bars and can't finish the job of offing the entire family. I'll be watching this episode, as I have not seen the HBO series that has been talked about so much. I'll be interested to see what new information Dateline adds.
  7. The scenes with Katsumoto, his son, and the K-Pop star were funny. It was nice to see Gordon crack a smile and laugh. It was kind of weird though that there was no interaction between Katsumoto and the rest of the gang though. So they had no idea he got stabbed?
  8. I pegged this episode as being ripped from the headlines of this story. They changed a lot of the details, but it was similar enough that I recognized it. What cracked me up was psycho Mavis had an even more psycho ex. LOL
  9. I agree that it appears that nothing got resolved and they added more unnecessary complications on top of the ones they didn't resolve. In some ways, there is no suspense to any of the difficulties that the Duttons are facing because we already know that they end up winning the long-term battle for their land because Kevin Costner is still living in that house. There is suspense in how it happens but I agree that this is dragging on too long and it seems like Taylor Sheridan is making it up as he goes along. Not really sure what the Zane storyline with his Asian wife was supposed to accomplish. The actor was credited as a regular but he really didn't do much and then in the last episode we find out that he's actually married and has kids but it's an illegal marriage? What is the point of all this? Is this to show us why the current ranch hands on Yellowstone are not allowed to live in town and must be branded and debted to the Duttons and live on property? I also didn't understand why Alex felt the need to get all dressed up and go rub it in Arthur's face that she was now with a handsome stud. Completely immature and I wish Spencer had told her he wouldn't play that game. Why wouldn't they just lay low in their first class stateroom and just order room service? Alex is just another entitled rich girl who wants the fun of being "free" with her manly stud but also wants all of the trappings of the good life. Where were her parents? How was she able to access credit? Did they not disown her after she ran off and called off the wedding? Teonna's storyline also got no resolution and the brutality was hard to watch. I was impressed with Jack's wise words to Elizabeth after her miscarriage. He started off the season as a doofus but it turns out he may be the most immature mature and wise of them all. (Edited - meant to say he was mature!) I feel like these Yellowstone shows always start off strong but then they peter off and the endings are never satisfying or turn into ridiculousness. I liked 1883 for most of it, until the last few episodes of Elsa playing Prairie Indian Barbie, and I liked 1923 for most of it until the ridiculousness of the last few episodes. I liked the first couple of seasons of Yellowstone but it's become unwatchable for me because none of the characters are likable and the Duttons are so corrupt and always win. I'll give a second season of 1923 a shot but I'm not having high hopes.
  10. Regarding The Window: I went back and forth on this one. I did think that Hannah's mental health history made it entirely plausible that she impetuously started going out the window herself in an attempt to commit suicide and then changed her mind as she started sliding down the side of the building. The mechanics of the window made it impossible to just jump out and so I can believe that once she started falling she realized what a mistake she made. I didn't actually notice how far off the floor the window was, but if it was high up, doesn't that also make it really difficult for someone to lift her up and over it in order to throw her off? I did think Craig's behavior was controlling and abusive - the idea of a surprise wedding/elopement sounds romantic but he didn't include any of her family? The only friend he included was also the only one who defended him at his trial. It does sound like he was trying to isolate her from family and friends who didn't like him. I've been in a relationship like that and I recognize that as a red flag. And Craig did appear to lie about how bad her drinking was, but she did have a history of acting erratically when drinking. I'm really not sure about this one. I do think based on what we were shown on Dateline that there was reasonable doubt due to Hannah's history but I do think Craig was probably a controlling SOB.
  11. If I had been on the jury, I would have believed the cop's testimony about seeing the defendant run out of the club with the gun. He was specific in his description, from the blue knit cap to the red boots, which are distinctive, and by then he had nothing to gain by lying. He admitted he lied earlier, to save face. If he was a liar, he would have continued to lie, to not look bad, instead of admitting what he did and saw, and allow the defense attorney to ridicule him. I thought this was an interesting twist. I thought the cops in Uvalde were cowardly as they had massive amounts of protective gear and had strength in numbers. If it had been one lone cop, as in this situation, I can sympathize that he froze. He's just lucky that the shooter was after a specific target and once he got her, he didn't go after anyone else. I had a feeling the cop would commit suicide at the end, but I'm not sure why his friend went after Price. He should have gone after the defense attorney.
  12. Stabler should just leak word on the street that Eamonn is an FBI informant and let his enemies take care of him.
  13. Jacob lamenting about the cities was stupid. If no cities developed on the east coast, his ancestors would still be stuck in Europe as there would be no economic opportunity for them here. His lament is typical rural American fantasy in that they believe they don't need cities/urban centers and would be better off if they had their own state without having to deal with the politics of the "liberal woke cities", completely disregarding that these cities are the drivers of economic activity and provide all of the tax dollars that allow them to function in their little rural utopias. I'm looking at you, state of Jefferson. LOL
  14. i agree, I'm so sick and tired of "influencers" and hearing about internet personalities and their "content" which is nothing more than stupid pranks. I wish the mainstream media would stop covering these people and their stupid stunts which are now mostly generated to gin up outrage. The judge's rulings made no sense. At one point, I started wondering if she'd been bribed by the "content/house manager" as her rulings seemed so obviously biased in his favor. At the end when Price showed the defense attorney the contracts that the girl in the wheelchair and others signed, she looked like she had never seen them before. Really??? Ugh.
  15. Count me as another one who didn't understand this. Also, why do these shows love doing story arcs where some bureaucrat is trying to break up the team for some nefarious or ridiculous reason? Criminal Minds used to do it every few years it seems. Why can't these teams just do their work and like in real life, people eventually leave or promote out on their own accord? Why must it always be because some bureaucrat has it out for them?

I thought this was a weak episode. The husband/wife criminal pair were clearly not hardened criminals, only had 1 gun each and were vastly outnumbered by the hostages. I think the group of hostages could have and should have rushed the pair and been able to incapacitate them enough to stop them. Or at least Kelly had a chance to grab the gun from the woman and hold the gun to her to try to get leverage on her husband to give up. Also, once the wife shot the bank manager, why did Isabel not give the order to go in? Again, they were not hardened criminals and likely would have given up right away. They seemed to already believe that it was hopeless. Just frustrating all around. I had zero sympathy for them and they were lucky the kidnappers were so incompetent. I'm glad that Jubal walked past the bar and went to the AA meeting instead. I thought it was pretty rich of Maggie to accuse Jubal of sidestepping her questions when she did the same thing to OA a few weeks ago regarding her meds.
  17. Most of my thoughts about the Birchview drive case have already been mentioned. However, my husband, (who is an attorney), said he felt there was reasonable doubt based on statements from the defense attorney about the DNA found in 6 different places at the crime scene. I kind of did too, and thought it was weird that Dateline and the prosecutor did not ever bring that up. So I googled it this morning, and it did come up at trial and apparently the prosecution argued that the DNA technology was so advanced that even a miniscule amount could show up on testing these days. That's a little problematic to admit, IMO. I do think Rick obviously did it, for all of the reasons others have already mentioned, but that could be an issue. Every episode also seems to mention how wonderful the victim was, how they were such a great friend/neighbor/sister/mom who everyone just loved. Have we ever had a victim that was described as cranky, grumpy, exuded negative energy, etc...? LOL Or every beginning of the episode they always describe the marriage as "perfect" and then we find out that someone was cheating. It's pretty formulaic at this point. But we can't stop watching! LOL
  18. Wow the timing on this one is impeccable. I don't think there is any reason to pull it, but have we heard that they might?
  19. I thought Raines was believable as the wheelman until he suddenly became the tech expert too. To me, that would have been a big red flag if I were the ringleader. I would have immediately suspected that he was the mole.
  20. We watched Haul Out the Holly last night and loved it! It was genuinely funny and all of the actors went all in on the goofiness. Lacey Chabert was perfect for the lead and I loved all of the actors who played her neighbors and goofy neighbors. Wes Brown was so charming but my favorite was in the beginning of the movie when they were showing the flashback and the little kids who played them as children were adorable! I wish they had shown one more flashback. I hope they show this movie every year. It is a nice break from the more serious and earnest romantic movies. I'm looking forward to trying to catch Hannukah on Rye sometime this weekend since so many people here have raved about it!
  21. Watched the Tale of Two Christmases. I thought it would be more of a What If type of scenario but it seems like it turned out she did actually miss her Christmas Eve flight and she dreamed all that happened if she had made her Christmas Eve flight back home. It was a little confusing to follow. I didn't particularly care for the 2 potential male love interests but I did like the female lead. I haven't seen her in anything before but I thought she was cute and quirky in a good and believable way.
  22. I really liked the Kelsey Grammer "12 Days of Christmas Eve" movie. It started off as really goofy but I liked how at the end, it looked like he really had learned his lesson. When he was given that one last chance to make things right but with no guarantee that he would live, he took it and you could see he genuinely just wanted to enjoy one last day with his daughter and granddaughter. I loved how gung-ho he was about going back and doing the day over every time he failed. He would "die", end back with Santa and enthusiastically blow out the candle to go back to try something new. I liked that this movie wasn't about a romance but about a man who just needed a chance to re-connect with his family.
  23. My husband has this type of colorblindness where he can't see colors at all. What I found funny about this movie was that the teachers' clothes were all gray. When they showed his closet, all of this shirts and sweaters were gray. My husband wears a suit for work but he has just learned to have 3 basic suits, a few basic colors for shirts and has learned which ties go with which shirt. Of course he asks me if things match, but mostly he's able to figure things out by only having basics. I did think the mom/optometrist over-stepped by pushing the issue of his colorblindness. He's clearly learned to adjust and live with it.

Glad Scola didn't sign the document. My husband said he wouldn't have signed either. I do think it was a test from Nina to see how committed Scola was. She didn't seem super upset when he wouldn't sign and she was happy to share that she was having a boy and invited him to dinner. They were dating when she got pregnant, even if it was very casual, but they had a relationship. I hope that now that they are no longer working together that maybe they will attempt a real relationship. Case of the week was boring. The father was a real jerk and I recognized the actor from Modern Family. I couldn't believe he didn't have a problem with putting his son in danger and allowing the kid to see him get gunned down. I hope the kid turns out ok. Maybe Scola can mentor him or something.
  25. Couldn't even make it through the first episode. None of the characters are even remotely appealing. I can't imagine that Montana residents like the way their state is portrayed here. The Montana in this show doesn't even resemble the Montana in Big Sky. I don't think the characters of Big Sky would be raging liberals or progressives, but surely they wouldn't stand for such a corrupt family/dynasty being in charge of the state purely for their own financial gain. The Montana portrayed in this show is just a red state fantasy. How is John Dutton going to be able to enforce any of the laws against out-of-staters? Especially the sales tax one? If that is addressed, I apologize. Like I said, I never finished watching this episode. It's just gotten too ridiculous for me. Not even the scenery porn and being a fan of Kevin Costner from way back could keep me around.
