Just watched this last night. I was really hoping Conrad would have picked Billie. However, I don't think he and Cade will last. I think he will end up with Billie in the final season/episode. I think AJ is right that Conrad likely thought that Billie wouldn't be interested in going further due to the "BFF code" she had with Nic. I didn't like the fakeout with Billie touching Conrad so much when they were alone. I'm glad Padma and AJ's babies are ok but I am so sick and tired of her. She is super duper annoying and she has made Leela into an annoying character too and by extension Devon, because of the way he fawns over them. So are Padma and AJ a couple now too, or just "co-parenting"? I will be really glad when this story is over, if ever, because I'm sure there will be more complications. I too was wondering where Bell was for most of the episode and Kit wasn't given much to do either. I was really hoping that the pills Andrew McCarthy was popping would turn out to be a red herring and he was actually taking meds related to his cancer. Really not looking forward to another storyline of a drug addicted doctor. I felt like this whole episode was kind of a waste of a premiere. They spent so much time on Padma's twins drama and waited until the end to show us that Conrad picked Cade. Will try to watch the next episode sometime this week but I have a lot of other shows to catch up on.

That defense lawyer seemed so sure of himself and yes I agree he had a punchable face. I always wonder why these defense attorneys go on tv and proclaim their clients innocent when all they have to do is just say the prosecution can't prove their case. To say unequivocally that he has proof that Kaitlin wasn't there is a pretty bold statement when he could more credibly just say that there is no actual proof that it was Kaitlin's SUV on the video. However, we know juries don't actually expect defense lawyers to come up with proof as Casey Anthony's lawyer made a bold allegation that her father molested her and was the actual culprit and never provided proof but it was enough to get her acquitted. The cast of characters she met down in Costa Rica was pretty funny. Love how that one guy took pictures of all her documents, including her Covid vaccine card LOL. And did he say he waved to her as she was taken away by the police? Kaitlin changed her appearance so much I'm wondering how they actually found her. Did they really just circulate her photo among the yoga community?

Count me in as someone sick and tired of the Queen Elizabeth coverage. Yes, they have to cover it as it is news, but they've gone overboard, IMO. Is Katy Tur still over in London? Why??? She's just a fangirl who got a paid vacation to the UK. There is NO REASON she needed to be there when there are already multiple reporters there, including several who cover British and European stories regularly.

I watched the 2 Dateline reruns that were on this weekend as they were new to me. The triangle involving Frances, Bill and Bonnie was infuriating. I can't believe Frances only got a 2 year sentence. Frankly, I'm glad that the only who got killed was Bill, the philanderer who was the cause and the object of all that fury. Both women frankly deserved that he died and are lucky that someone else wasn't killed in their reckless and selfish behavior. She deserved a longer sentence not for what she did to Bill but for the terror she caused on the road. I hope Frances ends up with a nice long prison sentence for her insurance fraud to make up for this. And Bonnie was a real piece of work. Of course she was a gold digger and her antagonism towards Bill's wife ended up backfiring on her as he ended up dying without a will. The episode about Gavin Smith was really strange too. The whole family had a weird look to them. And how stupid was the jury to believe Creech's claim of self-defense? If it was self-defense, why did he go to such lengths to cover it up? And unbelievable that the prosecution decided they had to give immunity to those who enabled the coverup. These friends allowed Creech to store a car with a dead body in it at their garage! Ugh...all of those people were disgustingly creepy.

I agree about Miles Teller. I don't remember liking him in anything (including Top Gun Maverick), something about him is just not appealing to me but I really like him in this.

This was the subject of an American Justice episode on A&E a few weeks ago. I don't remember that show mentioning that the shotgun was the roommate's gun but I seem to recall that the police found the shotgun in a field around the house that they suspected was the murder weapon. They set up cameras around that area and when Seth was released from interrogation and went home, he made a beeline for where the shotgun was hidden in the grass. LOL

The episode about the Whitehead twins was on over the weekend and I think it's the most disturbing one I've seen yet. I had never heard of this case until this episode. I can't even imagine how the mother must have felt as she was getting viciously attacked by her own kids. The twins are true psychopaths. I couldn't find any updated information about them though. It said they were up for parole in 2017 (which I don't understand as they were sentenced to 30 years) but I couldn't find anything that said if it had been granted. I can't imagine that it would.

Did Ken get murdered by the end of the episode? I didn't see that.
-
Just watched this one last night and it's definitely one of the saddest episodes. I agree that I felt bad for everyone involved. You could see all of the different POVs (except for Ken) even the kid who shot Carl. Still always makes me tear up at the end. And what kind of terrible person is Ken? Yes, Carl "gave" him the box with all of the bracelets but who actually takes it home and then hides it in the basement? Why didn't he just leave them at the reception or return them to the family after Carl was found dead? What a POS he really was.

I'm sorry people don't like this show but I love it! Yes it is cheesy at times but it's funny, the characters are great and I love the exotic locales. I love that they actually go on location most of the time, pre-Covid and I love when they show the maps of where they are going and the improbability of all that traveling. I thought it was hilarious when Danny and Lexi came back to Vietnam and Shaw told them they smelled and they snarked back that considering they took a cargo plane out of Mongolia they smelled pretty good LOL. The scene with Danny faking a British accent as a delivery driver to stall Chan and his men was also really funny. And I loved the scenes when Lexi and Violet were using the silk fabrics to try to break into Chan's safe. Cirque du Soleil indeed! I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes and I really hope it gets renewed for another season and even put back on CBS next summer. It's just a fun summer adventure show! Watching it reminds me of the summer of 2019 when we were watching season 1 before the world changed.

I can't watch that episode. It's just too sad and like the title, just so senseless. -
The Great Food Truck Race - General Discussion

I call BS on MCBWI winning both taste challenges. Their food always looks disgusting. Every dish is basically just pasta noodles with cheese dumped on top with some equally disgusting looking toppings. There is NO WAY that the shrimp "ceviche" with cheese on top was in any way delicious or appetizing. It was just Tyler and the producers trying to help them along by giving them the extra money in their till. They aren't able to control the sales challenges but they can control the taste challenges. Senoreata's did as well as they did because there just aren't too many vegan/vegetarian trucks or trucks that have vegan/vegetarian items on their menu. -
I agree the sword fight was a little slow and boring but I'm so glad this show is back. It's silly and there's a lot of plot holes and contrivances but it's just so much fun. I like that they actually go on location to film many of the scenes. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the season!

I was pretty shocked that Amawele's was eliminated. They always seemed to do well in the food challenges which I guess gave them enough extra in their till to keep them going for another week. However, with the dwindling numbers of teams, it became harder to compete. If the show is going to say teams are eliminated based on what they have in their till at the end of the selling challenges, I wish we could actually see them have to set a budget for food costs and then price accordingly and then see what profits they have at the end of the day. Maybe they actually do that, but they don't show it and so it looks like it's just based on revenue. I thought they did used to do that, but that seems to have gone by the wayside this season. I am glad ESO pasta truck made it through but I have a feeling they'll be next. As an alternative I'd prefer to see them base the winners and losers on units sold. That way we could see whose food was actually the best. Everything the Mac and Cheese truck makes looks disgusting to me but I could see a lot of people buying from them just because of Sugar, although her screeching is getting on my nerves. -
I agree with this. This is why police reform is so difficult. When good cops speak out or even just tell the truth instead of being purposely ambiguous or vague, they are afraid of retribution or being shunned and having it affect their career. It really does need to be something that starts from the top. Leadership needs to establish that retribution or ostracization will not be tolerated. Anyway, off my soap box...I did enjoy the season. I still just didn't completely understand why the Vance corporation people would go to such extremes to take out an heir. There was so much money available - couldn't they have just worked out an agreement with the heir? Whoever the heir would have turned out to be would likely have taken a payout in exchange for a share of profits or whatever just to be rid of the headache of dealing with the corporation and not looking over your shoulder all the time. I know I would have, especially if it was money I didn't know or expect to inherit. Vance's secretary also didn't think things through in how she handled the will. She should have just admitted the truth, that she took dictation from Mr. Vance and that way the will could have been judged as valid because she authenticated it. However, she lied initially about not knowing anything about it and not being the one who wrote it and so now even if she tried to tell "the truth" her credibility is shot. I don't like Maddie as a cop. I liked it better when she worked for Honey as a legal intern. But I guess she really wants to do this. I also wonder why she didn't follow her mother into the FBI. She seems like she'd be smart enough to get into Quantico.

They consistently do well because if you are vegetarian (or vegan) this is the only truck that seems to market themselves as meatless. I notice that the pasta truck's pasta dishes are usually meatless though I don't know if they play that up. To me, that is important because if you do eat meat, you have so many more options whereas if you don't, you will only go to the Senoritas truck. Their food usually looks and sounds good too. That quesadilla they made with the vegan cream cheese and guava jelly sounded like it should be good but it didn't look appetizing. I think they could have made it look better. -

Food Flight had zero personality and wearing their goofy printed shirts wasn't adding any. I still never figured out what their truck actually served. Their bento box also looked the least appetizing. The bento boxes that looked the most appealing to me were SPAF, ESO Pasta, Amaweles and Senoreatas. The Mac and Cheese truck looked disgusting. For a truck that specializes in m&C not sure why I would eat a piece of raw salmon wrapped around goat cheese from them or a quail egg. Was the quail egg just a hard boiled egg? Looked completely unappetizing. I wish the judges would have also tasted the food in the bento boxes instead of just judging appearance. Selling the most boxes doesn't mean it was the best tasting box. I am still rooting for the pasta truck as their food looks the best and I'm glad they caught on to using pre-made pasta and serving it with a good sauce. I hope they last long enough but I don't expect them to win.- 1.5k replies

I agree, I don't see how it was fair that Senoritas were down a staff member because Salsa Queen refused to be a good sport and participate. They should have just made one of the remaining SQ staff come work on the Senoritas truck while they looked for the SQ herself. It turned out they didn't need the extra help but what if it had been another truck that did need that help? -
The show did mention that Nancy thought her husband was a "curmudgeon". I remember that because it's such a funny word. My husband is older than me and I jokingly said he better not become a curmudgeon too. LOL

I'm thinking each team must have been given a list of suggested areas of LA to go, and where they also could not go because there seemed to be some parts of LA they very deliberately did not go. I would have tried to go to Santa Monica or somewhere in West LA but then I saw they are going to Venice Beach next week so maybe they were told they couldn't go to any of the beach towns because it's not technically LA. But I don't understand why no one seemed to be at Westwood or any of the West LA neighborhoods. They all seemed to be in either downtown, Hollywood or the Valley. Traffic going back and forth between those places would have been a nightmare. Senoriteas did have an advantage with being based in LA as they know the nuances of the different neighborhoods in LA so that does seem unfair. -
Just got caught up and I have a lot of thoughts. First off, I have to say I am not a fan of the twins. Both are annoying, but in different ways and for different reasons. The one thing they have in common is they are both annoyingly immature. IRL, I don't think someone like Devon would give up a super prestigious job for a woman. He essentially got his dream job and there is no reason why Leela wouldn't be able to join him in a few years when she finished her residency in whatever she ultimately decides. They already agreed they weren't in a rush to decide if they were going to have kids, so why do they need to be in the same city? Devon also had every right to eventually want to have kids and Leela had every right to not want to have them. Many couples have broken up over this and neither are wrong. It's a personal choice but it is one that should be discussed when the relationship starts to get serious. It seems like Leela led Devon on in not telling him until the last minute that she didn't want to have kids. But whatever, if they decide this works for them, so be it. I just think this will lead to some future resentment. The way their breakup was shown was really stupid too. When you date someone who works at the same place you do, there is always going to be that risk of seeing them if you break up. The big triangle - I do not like Cade with Conrad, I think it makes more sense to have Conrad with Billie but if Billie can't be with Conrad, I wonder why the show never thought to pair Billie with AJ. They seem like they might make a good pair. Bell and Voss's engagement party - people on tv shows never have friends outside of work, do they? LOL Cade and her father - some have commented that Cade's personality seems to change when she's around her father. I agree but I think it's fairly common. People can act differently around their family than the way they do around work colleagues or even friends. I remember during the early days of the pandemic that people were making comments that they were surprised at their spouse's work personality when they overheard them on Zoom meetings. LOL The COTW - I know we are not supposed to discuss politics here but this storyline seemed very designed to show what happens if/when Roe v Wade gets overturned, and the mother's life is no longer the primary factor in deciding on medical care, especially in certain states. Right now, it seems as if the doctors still have a choice in being able to discuss all of the options with the family, including terminating the pregnancy. But someday, what if that no longer becomes an option, especially in a red-leaning state like Georgia? If that actually happens, I wonder if the show would actually have a storyline that shows the doctors not having that option with a patient. Anyway, the season turned out better than I expected. I stopped watching it for a while after the time jump but I kept the episodes on my DVR and eventually caught up. Looking forward to next season!

Magnum P.I. (2018) - General Discussion

Really hope this is true! I think it would be a good fit on USA, or at least the USA Network before they started showing all of those sports. I remember when they used to do this with SVU and then they also aired original Criminal Intent episodes after it was canceled on NBC. -
The Great Food Truck Race - General Discussion

I think a big problem with some of the trucks is they don't understand the market they are selling in. They are in Southern California and should be setting their menu prices accordingly. You can definitely double your prices, especially if you usually operate in a smaller market. Some of the trucks last season, when they were in San Francisco, understood that and so while their prices seemed really high, people in the Bay Area do pay a lot for food. I'm still not sure how that one truck with the drag queen managed to outsell the other trucks by so much. Was it purely their marketing skills? Their mac and cheese did not look appealing to me at all. I'm surprised the pasta truck did as well as they did because they always seemed to be behind due to having to make their pasta from scratch. It did look good though. The Amawele truck that won the advantage, I'm convinced they completely squandered their advantage. They should have stashed their extra $400 to pad their sales and only spent the same $400 that every truck was given for supplies. Every truck seemed to have a memorable personality or gimmick except for the Food Flight truck. I was sure they would be the first one eliminated because they were just so dull. I feel bad that the 3 women with the Balls idea were eliminated. If they had stuck around, I think their strategy should have been to make their portions much smaller (those risotto balls were huge!) and give 2 per order. Instead of selling one big ball for $5 (or even $10), sell 2 balls that were half the size or less for $15. I felt bad for the woman whose husband died of Covid in the early days of the pandemic before there were vaccines. He looked young and healthy. -
The Jacket episode was truly disturbing. The stepafather who did it had no discernible motive other than being a sicko pervert. However it is strange that no one ever mentioned that he had acted creepy towards AJ prior to this. You'd think there would have been some indication that he had these feelings about her. I also watched The Box repeat over the weekend. I had never seen it before and it was pretty diabolical too. I loved how Anne's defense attorney was just like "Meh...no explanation"... for so much of the evidence against her, including her fingerprints on the envelopes and letters and the internet searches (anybody could have used her computer LOL)...I wish they had shown Keith asking him about the hang up phone calls that came from the pay phone outside of her office. Just a complete coincidence? LOL That was pretty interesting how they described how Anne was able to get those letters postmarked from Arkansas though. I had no idea you could do that. Now I know how to fake a postmark if I ever need to. LOL

Supermarket Stakeout - General Discussion

i like this show too and would love to have them at my local grocery store! They'd probably want to buy our bags on our weekly grocery run because we have a lot of bags and my husband is a big and fit guy and I could see the chefs making the assumption that he'd be eating healthy with lean meats and lots of vegetables LOL. unortunately he's a vegetarian and I don't cook much meat so they wouldn't get any of that but they would get lots of fruits and vegetables as the other assumption of him eating healthy would be correct. i can just imagine them pawing through our bags looking for meat and only finding some veggie burgers and eggs. I've seen episodes where the contestants and the shoppers are wearing masks. The contestants wear their masks when they are waiting at the store's doors and customers are wearing the masks as they are exiting.
