  1. Surprised no one has mention this yet, but Maroun's angst over letting a previous defendant get away and back on the street to commit another crime was almost an exact duplicate of a similar storyline with Claire Kincaid. In Claire's case, she pled out a homeless man for a less serious crime and then that homeless man eventually killed a woman in the subway. The homeless man's sister contacted Claire and said she had warned Claire about this man's psychological problems during the previous case and said he was dangerous but Claire never called her back. Claire was guilt ridden over that oversight and Jack had almost the exact same conversation with her that Price had with Maroun about being overworked and having too high of a caseload. I was hoping at the end when McCoy talked to Maroun that he would mention that. I thought the whole case was ridiculous. When the defense attorney objected during the prosecution's opening statement, she said that it was her client that was defending himself because the victim was the one with the gun. If that were true, why wouldn't they have told the police and had the police try to find out if the victim did actually have a gun? It was a ridicuolus argument and she should not have been allowed to get away with it.
  2. Every time I see Alex Murdaugh's face, I always think he looks like an inbred. He and his 2 sons have a weird look to them. They are proof positive that being rich does not make you a better or smarter person, no matter how much the rich want to believe they are superior to poor people. Alex Murdaugh and his sons clearly coasted through life on nothing more than their name. and likely ill-gotten wealth They did not have good looks, but always manage to have friends and girlfriends because of their name and money. I thought there was a lot of new information presented since the last episode but I would have liked to have an update on what Buster was doing now and what he was doing for money. I'm assuming relatives are supporting him, but is it maternal or paternal relatives? I wonder if Maggie came from a wealthy family too. They said she was arrogant too but was it only because she married into the Murdaugh family?
  3. Fire and Ice - I think it was obvious from the beginning that the husband had something to do with it. I think if Graham hadn't gone overboard with staging the murder as a drug overdose, he might have gotten away with it. Leaving her body with a tourniquet and syringe nearby just seemed too much for a hockey mom who didn't have a known substance abuse problem. It would have raised immediate red flags. I'm impressed that the Canadian police had so many resources to concoct phony coverup scams to try to get the suspects to confess. I'm wondering if that ploy has ever been done in the US and have it actually work? Or would lawyers here argue entrapment? LOL although can you really be entrapped to confess to something if you didn't actually do it?
  4. I know they said the husband couldn't pass a background check for a legal adoption, but they were uber rich. I'm sure there was some way they could have found a baby without actually breaking any laws and stealing another couple's baby.
  5. i agree with everyone who said Hana mishandled the situation in the restroom. Once she realized the little girl needed help, she should have just gone back to her car, taken a picture of the license plate of the family's car, and called it in. Regarding her back story about how she came to work for the FBI, is that actually realistic and how the FBI gets some of their technical analysts? As others have mentioned, she's not the first character on an FBI procedural that has this back story. And finally, I just have to comment about Hana continuing to have her co-workers as roommates. If I spent as much time with my co-workers as they do, I would NOT also want them as roommates! Just seems to be TMI and too close for comfort. You already see them every day at work, why would you want to also see them at home??? Maybe it's just me...On FBI International, they just recently did this too, with Smitty, the new addition to the team, becoming roommates with Kellet.
  6. Angel was definitely a piece of work. You could tell she was involved because they didn't interview her at the beginning or any of her family members and also by the types of photos of her they were showing. It was obvious she thought highly of herself by the pouty-lip selfies she took of herself LOL. It always cracks me up that at the beginning, they always have family and friends of the victim talk about what a great person he/she was and then we find out that they were cheaters/scammers or whatever. I was surprised that Milton bought his wife all that jewelry and lived in a nice subdivision when I saw what kind of business he owned. It didn't seem like it could have made that much money when it was just an "antiques" store that turned into a pawn shop. Glad that "pastor" ended up doing the right thing, but yeah I wouldn't have had any doubt about turning Isaac in. And I also find it absolutely hypocritical that a so-called Christian would think he should be able to not be held accountable for his crime. Glad he eventually came to his sense regarding Angel.
  7. I agree with most of what you said. This episode was obviously told from the Winters's family POV as Brent and no one in his family chose to participate and defend him. I know Brent was an arrogant SOB but I bet if we had heard from him or his family or friends, they would have said that Susan's family lorded their considerable wealth over him. They just seemed like the type of people who would act like their wealth made them better people. I agree with others who have also said that the family could have shown a little more compassion and grace towards their granddaughters. It's not surprising that their minor daughters would chosen to take their father's side so that they wouldn't lose both parents. Teenage girls can also have complicated relationships with their mothers, and Susan may have been a good mother but she also seemed volatile and unstable due to her depression and that may have caused a lot of conflict with the girls. I did wonder why Susan chose to leave her share of the family business directly to Brent. Why didn't she arrange to have her shares placed in a trust for her daughters? I admit, I did not like the Winters family. I think it's more likely than not that Brent did kill their daughter but they had an arrogance too that probably contributed to the dysfunction in their daughter's marriage.
  8. I just watched The Sisterhood last night. I agree with all who have already said Bob is a disgusting POS and it seems clear he preyed on women who were desperate for a man. Stacy clearly was settling as she just desperately wanted to get married and start having kids. I know most of us have friends or know of other women who have done this. I just didn't understand why Stacy's family and friends were originally shown saying that there was no reason for Stacy to have just died as she was a healthy woman only in her 40s. But that was clearly not true. She had numerous health problems and had already had accidental falls in the last several months. It's not outside of the realm of possibility that one of her health issues could have been the cause of her death or led to her having a fatal accidental fall. But given her history with Bob, that would have been the reason for the suspicion, not that she was an otherwise healthy woman. There were so many things botched in the investigation or lack of investigation that I'm a little surprised that the jury convicted as quickly as they did. I think there was just so much evidence of Bob being a despicable person that the jury convicted despite there being some reasonable doubt. I think he did it but if he wasn't such a disgusting person, if the jury had wanted to, they could have relied on the fact that there was essentially no investigation and that 3 different pathologists said it was inconclusive, to give him a pass and say there was some reasonable doubt.
  9. Well, I guess I didn't follow the real life trial that closely since I didn't recognize what was obvious to others.
  10. Who was this episode supposed to be based on? I saw one story that said Johnny Depp and Amber Heard but the couple looked more like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez although they've been over for years.
  11. Not really feeling this season's storyline of the criminal real estate family. They seem like a knock-off Trump family. Camilla Belle looked so familiar to me but when I looked through her credits, I didn't recognize anything she had done previously. I was so sure she had been in an SVU episode or something. Why didn't Kenny actually die from the rat bites? The exotic animal dealer made it sound like he was on the brink of death.
  12. LOL you're both right about the looks of the brother but I also thought it was lazy casting and it just reinforces what so many on the right complain about Hollywood liberals. The casting of the Texas family seemed like a Hollywood caricature of what backward Texans look like. The family looked inbred to me, especially the son. I also did not like the ending with the activist getting killed. I'm surprised that so many thought this was a nuanced episode. It seemed heavy handed to me. I would have preferred if it turned out to be that the family had supported her getting the abortion and getting called out for their hypocrisy. I'm not sure why the mother would have sent the brother to find the daughter because she had already had the abortion. What would finding her accomplish? I think it is more likely that they did hunt her down to kill her and then try to blame the "crime-addled streets of a coastal elite city like NYC" to cover up their hypocrisy of their own daughter getting an abortion. What they did was no different than when we've seen "honor killings" by Muslim families.
  13. Just watched this last night. I was really hoping Conrad would have picked Billie. However, I don't think he and Cade will last. I think he will end up with Billie in the final season/episode. I think AJ is right that Conrad likely thought that Billie wouldn't be interested in going further due to the "BFF code" she had with Nic. I didn't like the fakeout with Billie touching Conrad so much when they were alone. I'm glad Padma and AJ's babies are ok but I am so sick and tired of her. She is super duper annoying and she has made Leela into an annoying character too and by extension Devon, because of the way he fawns over them. So are Padma and AJ a couple now too, or just "co-parenting"? I will be really glad when this story is over, if ever, because I'm sure there will be more complications. I too was wondering where Bell was for most of the episode and Kit wasn't given much to do either. I was really hoping that the pills Andrew McCarthy was popping would turn out to be a red herring and he was actually taking meds related to his cancer. Really not looking forward to another storyline of a drug addicted doctor. I felt like this whole episode was kind of a waste of a premiere. They spent so much time on Padma's twins drama and waited until the end to show us that Conrad picked Cade. Will try to watch the next episode sometime this week but I have a lot of other shows to catch up on.
  14. That defense lawyer seemed so sure of himself and yes I agree he had a punchable face. I always wonder why these defense attorneys go on tv and proclaim their clients innocent when all they have to do is just say the prosecution can't prove their case. To say unequivocally that he has proof that Kaitlin wasn't there is a pretty bold statement when he could more credibly just say that there is no actual proof that it was Kaitlin's SUV on the video. However, we know juries don't actually expect defense lawyers to come up with proof as Casey Anthony's lawyer made a bold allegation that her father molested her and was the actual culprit and never provided proof but it was enough to get her acquitted. The cast of characters she met down in Costa Rica was pretty funny. Love how that one guy took pictures of all her documents, including her Covid vaccine card LOL. And did he say he waved to her as she was taken away by the police? Kaitlin changed her appearance so much I'm wondering how they actually found her. Did they really just circulate her photo among the yoga community?

Count me in as someone sick and tired of the Queen Elizabeth coverage. Yes, they have to cover it as it is news, but they've gone overboard, IMO. Is Katy Tur still over in London? Why??? She's just a fangirl who got a paid vacation to the UK. There is NO REASON she needed to be there when there are already multiple reporters there, including several who cover British and European stories regularly.
  16. I watched the 2 Dateline reruns that were on this weekend as they were new to me. The triangle involving Frances, Bill and Bonnie was infuriating. I can't believe Frances only got a 2 year sentence. Frankly, I'm glad that the only who got killed was Bill, the philanderer who was the cause and the object of all that fury. Both women frankly deserved that he died and are lucky that someone else wasn't killed in their reckless and selfish behavior. She deserved a longer sentence not for what she did to Bill but for the terror she caused on the road. I hope Frances ends up with a nice long prison sentence for her insurance fraud to make up for this. And Bonnie was a real piece of work. Of course she was a gold digger and her antagonism towards Bill's wife ended up backfiring on her as he ended up dying without a will. The episode about Gavin Smith was really strange too. The whole family had a weird look to them. And how stupid was the jury to believe Creech's claim of self-defense? If it was self-defense, why did he go to such lengths to cover it up? And unbelievable that the prosecution decided they had to give immunity to those who enabled the coverup. These friends allowed Creech to store a car with a dead body in it at their garage! Ugh...all of those people were disgustingly creepy.
  17. I agree about Miles Teller. I don't remember liking him in anything (including Top Gun Maverick), something about him is just not appealing to me but I really like him in this.
  18. This was the subject of an American Justice episode on A&E a few weeks ago. I don't remember that show mentioning that the shotgun was the roommate's gun but I seem to recall that the police found the shotgun in a field around the house that they suspected was the murder weapon. They set up cameras around that area and when Seth was released from interrogation and went home, he made a beeline for where the shotgun was hidden in the grass. LOL
  19. The episode about the Whitehead twins was on over the weekend and I think it's the most disturbing one I've seen yet. I had never heard of this case until this episode. I can't even imagine how the mother must have felt as she was getting viciously attacked by her own kids. The twins are true psychopaths. I couldn't find any updated information about them though. It said they were up for parole in 2017 (which I don't understand as they were sentenced to 30 years) but I couldn't find anything that said if it had been granted. I can't imagine that it would.
  20. Did Ken get murdered by the end of the episode? I didn't see that.
  21. Just watched this one last night and it's definitely one of the saddest episodes. I agree that I felt bad for everyone involved. You could see all of the different POVs (except for Ken) even the kid who shot Carl. Still always makes me tear up at the end. And what kind of terrible person is Ken? Yes, Carl "gave" him the box with all of the bracelets but who actually takes it home and then hides it in the basement? Why didn't he just leave them at the reception or return them to the family after Carl was found dead? What a POS he really was.
  22. I'm sorry people don't like this show but I love it! Yes it is cheesy at times but it's funny, the characters are great and I love the exotic locales. I love that they actually go on location most of the time, pre-Covid and I love when they show the maps of where they are going and the improbability of all that traveling. I thought it was hilarious when Danny and Lexi came back to Vietnam and Shaw told them they smelled and they snarked back that considering they took a cargo plane out of Mongolia they smelled pretty good LOL. The scene with Danny faking a British accent as a delivery driver to stall Chan and his men was also really funny. And I loved the scenes when Lexi and Violet were using the silk fabrics to try to break into Chan's safe. Cirque du Soleil indeed! I'm looking forward to the rest of the episodes and I really hope it gets renewed for another season and even put back on CBS next summer. It's just a fun summer adventure show! Watching it reminds me of the summer of 2019 when we were watching season 1 before the world changed.
  23. I can't watch that episode. It's just too sad and like the title, just so senseless.
  24. I call BS on MCBWI winning both taste challenges. Their food always looks disgusting. Every dish is basically just pasta noodles with cheese dumped on top with some equally disgusting looking toppings. There is NO WAY that the shrimp "ceviche" with cheese on top was in any way delicious or appetizing. It was just Tyler and the producers trying to help them along by giving them the extra money in their till. They aren't able to control the sales challenges but they can control the taste challenges. Senoreata's did as well as they did because there just aren't too many vegan/vegetarian trucks or trucks that have vegan/vegetarian items on their menu.
  25. I agree the sword fight was a little slow and boring but I'm so glad this show is back. It's silly and there's a lot of plot holes and contrivances but it's just so much fun. I like that they actually go on location to film many of the scenes. I'm really looking forward to seeing the rest of the season!
