  1. It was nice to see Hayley and Blair cooperating today. Sure she got her digs in a time or two, but snarking is something that can be kind of fun sometimes. Shrill, repetitive and bitchy is never fun. I found this episode fairly enjoyable on the part of most of the teams, but Jenny was starting to annoy. Nowhere near as bad as Hayley the last couple of episodes, but it was starting. Hopefully she can reign it in.
  2. Not trying to be confrontational at all, but where was he being disdainful and superior? I am genuinely curious, not trying to stir up anything, I just don't see it.
  3. I went back and rewatched the first 4 shows, specifically to see how Blair was being such an ass. I didn't see it the first time I watched them, thought maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but I still don't see it. I see a reserved, aloof person running a race with someone he doesn't know. I saw them discussing things at the plaza, him saying he was sure it was that way, her agreeing to follow his direction, then when it wasn't correct, he apologized and they went the other way. This appeared to me to be the starting point of the constant "You need to listen to me!!!! I am always Right!!!!" which is when things started to go downhill for the "relationship". I have a really difficult time finding him a horrible person, as he is very much like me. The more you yell at me, the quieter I become. My husband tries to have some epic fights, which I will not participate in. The difference being, he has never resorted to name calling and belittling. He also doesn't repeat things over and over until I want to smack him. The main thing in this episode, and especially in the behind the scenes car bit that bother me was, if you are going in the wrong direction, you have to continue in that direction for a little bit until you can find a place to turn around and correct it. Shrieking will not change this. Reading a map, telling the driver which streets to turn down to correct it will. Calling someone an ass repeatedly also will not correct it. I'm sorry, but I actually do like Blair, he's my kind of people, Hayley just makes me want to leave her somewhere and drive off.
  4. I was wondering the same thing, kaygeeret. He hasn't been overly enthusiastic with her, but I haven't seen him be completely dismissive of her either. The food/zipline thing, sure, he did it his way and it cost them, but she also never actually insisted that he stop and listen to her. She just did the passive aggressive nattering while he was walking up the hill. By that point, I also had stopped listening to her.
  5. I can't begin to tell you how much I agree with you about this. I've watched a lot of TAR and really she is the most annoying person I've ever come across. There have been people I have disliked more, and found despicable, but she just puts my back up and makes me want to stuff a rag in her mouth to make her be quiet.
  6. Well, I've just binge watched the first 4 shows and have to say that I find him fairly reserved and standoffish, but she is just annoying the crap out of me. It is fine to be angry and say so, but then shut up. Harping on it just annoys everyone around you, not just the person who was in the wrong. Also, as the person above said, on the Zipline task, what was stopping her from taking more stuff if she thought he was wrong? Absolutely nothing except the burning desire to be able to say "I told you so" about 8 million fricking times. I don't particularly find him to be a wonderful person, but I would probably find myself doing way more than just rolling my eyes at her.
  7. Please, lord, please make Maria Menunos stop laughing! I can't take the machine gun hahahahahahahahahahahaha any more.
  8. It has Dewey Crowe! Or the scary assassin guy from Vegas, but I love Dewey Crowe, so I'll give it a go. Did not mean to make that rhyme, sorry.
  9. John Amsterdam from "New Amsterdam" was immortal and had quite a few children over the years. Also in a good movie called "The Man From Earth" the lead character was several thousand years old and had basically given up on keeping track of his children, or really trying to be part of their lives.
  10. There were also 2 in downtown Vancouver, kitty corner to each other across the intersection. I think it was Burrard and Robson, but I could be wrong.
  11. I'm Canadian, European background, in the Vancouver/Lower mainland area. No one in my family back as far as I can remember, wears their shoes in the house. My neighbours currently are from Taiwan, so there is always a bunch of shoes on their porch they won't even wear them into the house, but we all take them off right inside the front door. I don't know if its cultural, as my family are Ukrainian, Hungarian, Swedish, German, English, French, Finnish...... My friends are also from quite varied backgrounds and all take their shoes off. I've never actually asked anyone to take them off, and never been asked, we just do it. I guess its just one of the mysteries of the universe.
  12. Ok, this is something that has always bothered me. It makes me crazy when people just walk into a house and don't take their shoes off at the door. It happens everywhere, TV shows, movies, commercials. Is it that prevalent? Every single person I know removes their shoes when they enter someone's house. It amuses my husband to no end when I yell at people in commercials that if they took their damn shoes off at the door, their floors, carpets, whatever wouldn't be filthy enough that when they make a pass with various cleaning tools there is a blinding white strip down the middle. God only knows what is on the ground outside, why would people track it through their house? Sorry, I know this is completely off topic, but it's been bothering me for years.
  13. Being rich doesn't automatically stop people from fantasizing about what they would do with all that money (without working for it, no less!) Especially if you didn't grow up with a ton of money to begin with. Pretty much everyone would love to have however much hundreds of millions of dollars (for free!) and its fun to speculate about. It doesn't offend me that they talk about it, as they are not out there stealing the tickets out of poor peoples hands to win it. If they pay for the ticket, they are just as entitled to win it as me or anyone else. I used to work at a place that had a payday lottery you could buy into every payday and one woman won it four times. Was I envious of her, certainly, but I would never say she didn't deserve it because she had "won the lottery".
  14. Well, shoot. Not available in Canada, eh? Sometimes I hate the internet.
  15. Dim Sum is wonderful. There isn't a restaurant serving it in my town, so I go to one called Kam Ding Seafood House in Coquitlam. My only criticism is that they don't have the Taro root dumplings that I love. But I could eat steamed sticky rice and pork, pot stickers, pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings and spare ribs at least once a week if I could afford to eat out that much.
  16. Holubchi is basically cabbage rolls. My Aunt Dolly always made them with grape leaves, but my mom always uses cabbage. I prefer cabbage, as it is easier to get.
  17. My Gramma was Hungarian, so I grew up eating goulash, chicken paprikash, spatzle.... and my other side is Ukranian, so pyrogies, holubchi, kielbasa,.... and to top it all off, sour cream! (and bacon) I would eat this every day, damn the calories, if I could.
  18. My 13 year old daughter (she is my avatar) watches any of the Korean shows she can find on Netflix. She likes them because they are romantic, but not sexual. I find some of the concepts very old fashioned, but the stories are fairly easy to follow. I get a little bored when she is binge watching them, but I would rather she watch those shows than things like The Walking Dead. I have a hard time with gore in full colour on my living room wall.
  19. Earth Girls are easy is the only time I've found Jim Carrey attractive as well. Damon Wayans is always attractive, so it was a good movie for me.
  20. I really enjoyed the Night Angel series by Brent Weeks. I read all three back to back and wasn't disappointed at all. I also really liked the Demon Cycle books by Peter V. Brett. The Edge series and Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews is also fun, as are the Study, Opal Cowan and Healer series of books by Maria V. Snyder.
  21. I saw Pauly Shore mentioned earlier and wanted to add Encino Man. I love this movie. It was the second one that I had seen Brendan Fraser in. The first one was School Ties and I had no idea he was funny. I also love Strictly Ballroom, its just so weird I can't help myself. And the dancing is cool too.
  22. "This content is currently unavailable" I hate it when stuff won't play in Canada! Stupid internet!
  23. I agree with most of the entries here, but would like to add Sam Worthington, and also Mark Harmon. And whoever the guy is who plays Lincoln on "The 100". I could mute the TV and just look at them. Who needs acting when you've got the pretty.

I don't really have a horse in the race this year, as the Canucks sort of tanked, but Vigneault used to be the coach here, so I could root for them. Or since LA is a West Coast team, I could root for them. Either way, I hope it goes 7 as well. It's sort of relaxing not really being worried about who wins what game.
  25. My cats run from the vacuum as well, but they love to be sticky-rolled. (Sorry, don't know what they are really called) The Dempster's vegetable bread ad bothers me as well, as it acts like it's weird that she is eating.
