  1. Holy crap! My husband and I just looked at each other and shuddered.
  2. Well, they almost lost me at blowing snot out of the nose. I could have done without that.
  3. Yeah, I looked at him and thought, what the hell happened to him? He looks like a plasticine version of himself.
  4. I don't find the service issues that weird. At my mother in laws ranch, you can't make a phone call from her house, but go outside and stand by a tree near the shop, and bang, you got service. And just randomly inside the house, you will get a text. Walk a half km up the driveway to my brother in laws house and bingo, you've got service again.
  5. My family hunted deer, and while my dad and all gutted the deer, it was never skinned until they'd brought it home and hung it in the shed. Also, I think that it was a cougar going by the woman's camp. They do have 5 toes on their front paws, and the drag mark is usually from their tail. They have very long tails. Although, I don't know if cougars are up that far north.
  6. It was from the woman from Echo Bay's intro video. She was talking about living off the land, and not being afraid of predators. I assumed that the cougar she was stroking was one she had killed.
  7. All I can think is that this winter was so cold, and parts of the prairies got into the -50's (Celcius), that I can't see them staying out terribly long.
  8. Nope, don't fiddle with someone's cooking, and don't wear your shoes in their house if they ask you not to. Or, don't wear shoes inside houses, that's gross. I really don't understand why people do that.
  9. Well, I figured it out last week after I watched the promo. It was pretty obvious.
  10. Dammit Randy. That shelter gave me all sorts of hope that he would go far. I was more skeptical of Larry , Sam and Dave's shelters, and figured they'd be gone before Randy. I guess that Britt is the one now. I'm kind of hoping that Larry gets eaten by a bear, just so he'll shut up.
  11. My husband and I both hated that Angie and Shade were so gullible about this stuff. This show completely ruined their characters. They are way more competent, and this show just made them seem so crappy at their jobs. They are way better judges of character than this. My husband and I were skeptical from the first time that the woman started her spiel. And then when the guy showed up about the puck, and wouldn't go to the police, I was even more skeptical. I am very unhappy with how they ended the season.
  12. I'm enjoying it. I was very disappointed about Carleigh having to leave, but overall, I like the season.
  13. I'm trying to watch this on cbs, as it doesn't seem to be on a Canadian channel tonight, and there is no sound. Anyone want to let me in on what this episode is about?
  14. April Wine! Don't know if it's been on TV before, but I thought it was a great song to use. Also, why did they have to smush her head? Wouldn't shooting her in the head do just as good a job? With less mess?
  15. I liked the singing a lot, wish we could have heard more. Although, we did get to hear it over the end credits. The blonde goat yoga woman is incredibly defensive and mean. The other one seems a bit weepy, but her "friend" is a bitch. I like the classical music guys, just because of their job. No one really stands out except the bitchy goat yoga woman. May need another show or two before I can remember who they all are, and who goes with who. But it was a good start to the season.
  16. Aw, I'm going to miss my eye candy. Zed can take his shirt off around me any time. And Shabbir was just cool, I wish he was my dad.

    S04.E07: Hooked

I'm having a hard time getting into the show this season. My husband recently started working afternoons, so we don't get to watch the show live, and it sometimes takes a few days to get to. I find the brothers irritating, so I just laughed my head off when the one hooked himself. I also find myself waiting for the next bad thing to happen to them with some anticipatory glee. I don't feel bad about it either. I would like Brooke and Dave to win, but I don't know if she's gonna slow down and coast now, or if she'll burn herself out. Sam seems sweet, but a little out of his element. Pete
  18. Why wasn't this episode called "Hairy Pottery"! That was hilarious. I can't believe that the cousins switched twice, and didn't use the express pass.
  19. Unless you are really accurate and have a spear or aboomerang, chucking a stick at a grouse really isn't going to do much. A slingshot or bow and arrow would be better, or one of those things with the balls on either end, connected with a line. A bolo? Anyway, hope they eventually catch one, grouse are tasty. I think I ate more grouse than chicken for a few years. I used to take great pleasure in eating them after they had scared the crap out of me by exploding up in the air out of a bush. All you see are wings and feathers as they fly up in front of your face. I really prefer a cooked
  20. I was wondering why no one took the Skytrain from the airport to downtown and then the Seabus over to North Van. But it seems the train only runs every half hour, so missing it would put you in a bad spot. So far the only team that bugs me are the adventure bros. Oh and the fitness guy reminds me of Keith Hamilton Cobb, the guy who played Tyr Anasazi on Andromeda.
  21. Pretty fond of it myself. That zipline thing sounds fun. I'm trying to convince my husband to do a 2 or 3 week cross country trip, but he's not going for it. Wants to go down the Washington and Oregon coast instead, as its closer, We'll probably end up doing neither though, as we'll debate until its too late to plan anything, and then just go visit his family in Quesnel. Where we will most likely go camping, just to keep it on sort of topic. It's much easier camping than the north end of the Island, but if you wait until the end of summer, it starts dipping below zero at night. But it i
  22. Thank you very much, and so quickly too!
  23. Could you, or someone in the states, copy and paste the list. Every time I try to go to history.com it defaults me to .ca, which doesn't have the same content as the US site. Most annoying, and I can't seem to figure out how to stop it. Thanks.
  24. I lived on the Island until I was 18, drank the water straight from creeks, streams and lakes, and am about to turn 50 in a couple of months, so it can't be that bad. I don't know anyone who got sick from drinking the water, but we were pretty good about drinking from fast running streams and avoiding scummy looking stuff. It's not terribly hard to find running water on the Island.
  25. My husband and I were both rather bothered by the fact Josh was hiking quite a ways from the dropoff site. Quit moving around so much if someone is trying to find you! I know the terrain wasn't terribly flat, but the one being found has no idea where the hiker is coming from, so don't leave the area. At least the hiker has a compass and a general direction to move towards. We also talked about what we would do in that situation.. My thoughts were to make a brace or small pony wall on the downslope, put some poles across to the hill and make a flat platform to sleep on. leave a space at t
