  1. Nancy isn't wrong: Amelia only got the head of neuro job in Seattle because Derek was going to move to DC. Callie Torres lives in New York City. She could've done this surgery.
  2. I liked that Alex confided in Link. It probably would've been "the sun" if Meredith wasn't so busy propping Deloser, but Link is the better choice because they're old friends. And I like the idea that maybe Alex and Link could be friends one day, too. Owen + therapy is nothing new. This will be the third or fourth time we see him in therapy. And they said April's story had run its course? Tom Koracick should've been courting Meredith, who after 14+ seasons has been done a disservice being reduced to this mess with Andrew. Tptb have been trying way too hard to make him her perfect match all season when there are far better options. He's the type of character that works best sparingly, and for good reason (see: the past three seasons). No amount of screen time or Maggie's blessing or Richard's stamp of approval or sudden medical prowess will convince me that he's a leading man. Krista and the writers' obsession with the Italian makes me dislike him. Meredith is better than this, or at least she used to be.
  3. I miss "Be cool. Don't be all, like, uncool" Luann.
  4. Hate her or love her, LVP is a woman of integrity. Such a small thing, but when in the middle of the argument she said "Dorit and the f**king dog", and then immediately took back the "f**king dog" comment because it is a sweet creature, that was such a genuine moment from her. With friends like Kyle, who needs enemies.
  5. That... was not the most powerful episode of the series, despite Krista and the media's insistence. Absolutely a powerful, tough and important subject matter. But as far as execution goes, this at times felt gratuitous and a little after school special-y. There are episodes where the show has done a lot more with less in more nuanced and authentic ways. I'd appreciate if this new era of Grey's Anatomy stopped telling me how I'm supposed to feel. And, really? Jo's biological half siblings are named Alexandra and Josh? Perhaps an unpopular opinion. YMMV.
  6. I don't mind an episode or arc about Jo seeking out her birth mother. My issue is that that should be enough to tell a nuanced story without having to resort to ::insert horrible thing here:: to pile onto her already heavy past for extra dramatic effect. It tells me that the writers are losing juice and are reaching for any topical issue to pontificate about. As it is, these surgeons are barely surgeons anymore. For instance, we're rushed through and told that Meredith broke the longest surgical record without regard to the case itself (which is why Isaac's tumor in season 6 is still top notch vs. Deloser being her cheerleader in the OR of a surgery for a patient that never even got face-time). Meredith and Maggie are doing random research, the patient-doctor-surgical scenes all feel disconnected. It's nice to flesh out a character's backstory, but how's Dr. Jo Wilson Karev doing in her fellowship? The old show/writers used to know how to balance and weave in the personal with the professional. This.
  7. I can already see the heavy handed contrivance with Jo's episode (15x19). Watch it be that her biological mom was r*ped and that is the reason, or one of the reasons, Jo was abandoned. If this turns out to be the case, tptb are doing way too much with one character. Like it's not enough that she was homeless/lived in her car and then was in an abusive relationship.
  8. It wasn't too long ago when Deloser was renting a room from Arizona and then couch jumping, but now he can afford that swanky apartment? Tptb are so desperate to make him a leading man, the leap from three seasons as a C character to this is sloppy. They've wasted Tom Koracick on Teddy since it seems inevitable that she'll reunite with Owen. He should've been Meredith's new "boyfriend".
  9. Dorit and PK are shitty. Dumping the dog at a kill shelter is reprehensible, Dorit playing the victim a load of bull, and the women who are willingly overlooking her negligence are despicable. Period. They're all actively choosing to ignore the elephant in the room in favor of this he said-she said-she said crap.
  10. From what I've seen so far, I like her. Not everyone has to be super bougie to be a RH. And there have been a lot of misses with this crowd's style choices so to each their own in terms of what they're comfortable in. It's nice to have a different personality in the mix to offset all of the major narcissism and bat shit crazy.
  11. Hard to believe that April and Arizona got the axe for this. First Jackson dipping his toe in religion, now telling a baby-in-a-bag story without the Fetal surgeon. This obsession with Maggie being the love child of Richard and Ellis is five seasons too late. I don't care about any of the DeLucas. And if they're going to insist on chewing screen time with their Italian, at least have subtitles so we know what's going on. I miss Meredith and Tom Koracick's banter. If the new regime really valued chemistry and authenticity, he'd be the most interesting new partner for the show's leading lady. They both suffered great loss, have lived and loved, but not in ways that are exactly the same as the other. And he would've been great with the Shepherd kids. The relationship would've had the maturity that Meredith's 14+ year journey deserves, something that no amount of character-altering will ever come with Andrew. I see no point in having Teddy back and pregnant with Owen's baby if they're not meant to end up together, or else she could've stayed in Germany. I just saw a rerun of a season 6 episode where Teddy says she's loved Owen forever, so if nothing else their story would come full circle. Link is a good guy. Meredith's poor decision-making is Amelia's gain.
  12. I wish Jo stayed in Ortho. Link is a good dude. I love the moments with Alex and his mom. How about we get rid of some of these sisters and meet Amber Karev, instead? Amelia's biggest mistake was leaving James and Los Angeles (her life on Private Practice) for this mess. So did tptb remember that Andrew's mom is alive, because she was spoken-of as if she is, but at the beginning of the season she was dead (a contradiction to season 13 when she was alive)? They are so messy with details and continuity. Probably an unpopular opinion, but I am so over the Italian. Krista watches a season of "Master of None" and now we're being beaten over the head with it. I get that it's like the one interesting thing about Andrew, but with or without his family around, it doesn't have to be all the time. And don't get me started on Meredith oh so conveniently now knowing the language... By all accounts, Callie Torres was on the series for 10 years and only spoke Spanish (a language more widely familiar to larger populations) twice, and it was in the same episode.
  13. That was...not good. The 300th episode was a much better milestone celebration. "Are you telling me this as the Chief or as your friend? Because I want to know if I need to explain hospital rules or just laugh at you." Alex is the best thing about the show, nowadays. This. The sun has flamed out. It's ridiculous the lengths tptb are going to to force Meredith with Andrew. Does the leading lady not deserve a better suitor? The scene of them first arriving at the party had the chemistry of a mother placating her whiny child. Amelia and Owen should've never gotten back together after her tumor debacle. Didn't Catherine make plans for a big party to be celebrated after her surgery? Her attitude tonight was a complete retcon. Shut up, Maggie. I miss April.
  14. I like Denise, and I hope that being on the show with these opportunistic harpies doesn't change her. *looking at you, Teddi* It doesn't matter where Dorit brought the dog, the simple fact that she did not return Lucy to Vanderpump Dogs per the rules is WRONG. She's WRONG. These women, Lisa Rinna especially, are so blinded by their jealousy and dislike for LVP that they will overlook anything to "take her down". Kyle is a terrible friend. Ken yelling at her in defense of his wife is completely justified IMO.
  15. Jackie was no more boring this season than Teddi Mellencamp on her first season of RHOBH last year, and she's back for more. So if Jackie were not to return, it's gotta be more than just that. If nothing else, she came through in part one of the reunion. And it's refreshing to have someone who doesn't cower around Teresa or bend to her every will.
  16. Massive eye roll at Meredith breaking the record for longest surgery. In season 6, Derek had a revolving door of surgeons coming in and out to assist him on Isaac's spinal tumor, and Lexie wore a diaper! They've really taken this "sun" thing to heart. Are we done with the Betty/Britney show now? At least Alex had a decent amount of screen time.
  17. Lisa Apple was the woman on the gurney. Her and Martin had dated in season 1 and at the end of season 1, after they had already broken up, she was seen buying a pregnancy test. I forget the details, but I think when she was confronted, she claimed to not be pregnant. So I think we're supposed to think as Lena and Martin think - that she's having Martin's baby.
  18. I'm really happy that Lena and Martin have reunited, and I also loved that they held each other's hands when they saw Lisa Apple. Whatever happens next, I hope they face it together. There are still quite a few episodes left, so it's not over yet. I do hope that the season does end with the family intact and happy, just in case this is it.
  19. I really loved this episode. Beth had her own "Jack Pearson". Carl Lumbly is a gem. Phylicia Rashad is wonderful. Excellent casting all around, especially spot-on with young Beth. Of course Randall would be enamored by Beth at first sight.
  20. In the gif @CountryGirl posted, the look on Meredith's face reads as a mother listening to one of her children talk about their day at school.
