  1. That's usually how it goes. I hope this sets the trend for the other sports.
  2. I assumed Jean was 40. GA is 51. I think a good story would be Otis wanting her to keep it, but she decides not to. Precisely because of this. Jean is well off enough and doesn't seem to have any problems with access to health care. You never really see this side of these kinds of stories.
  3. I hope she doesn't. That could really be a bold narrative.
  4. I guess the change in TV between 1978 and 79 was quite a change. The show has a different look.
  5. Does anyone not like Ricky Spanish? (Riickyyy Spannnnishhh)
  6. I forgot where I mentioned this, but they filmed an awful Freddie Prinze movie when I was at Berkeley. We saw them filming. That's the only reason I went to the movie. It was bad. I think Claire Forliani was in it.
  7. That's like trying to pick your favorite child.
  8. Someone needs to green light a Lord John spin off like fucking yesterday.
  9. And Mandy Patinkin in the same episode! In terms of the camera shots, I'd say the cab shots are.
  10. Does Showtime have an app like HBOGo if you have a cable subscription? Or like TBS, etc.?
  11. Late 70s/early 80s had to be the golden era of guest stars. Martin Mull and Tom Selleck were on! Burrows has 'only' 129 directing credits, but each one has multiple episodes - 15 on Friends. So he must be over 1000 episodes of tv easy. All the big ones too. Mary Tyler Moore, Laverne & Shirley, etc.
  12. And apparently Burrows directed all of television in the Carter administration.
  13. I'm not trying to be sour, but are the names really that necessary? The european soccer teams don't have them. Like, they call Chelsea 'the blues' because that's their uniform color. It would be like calling the Yankees the 'pins' or something (for pinstripe uniforms). I totally agree that the offensive names should be removed immediately, but I find the 'history and tradition' argument weak.
  14. Reverend Jim has only been on one so far that I've gotten to.
  15. So Jeffery Tambor always looked the same since forever.
  16. It's funny because finishing Cheers I'm thinking Alex and Nardo on Taxi is going to be the will they /won't they plot but I had to remember that hasn't been invented for television yet.
  17. He's a great foil though. I hope he's still around.
  18. There was some college movie with Freddie Prinz that filmed when I was at Berkeley. It was awful but fun to see all the places on campus.
  19. My next find is Taxi on Hulu. I think it's a good complement to Cheers. There's no forum?
  20. College I think might be harder on TV than high school because there's not really a common denominator. High school is more of a closed system with known quantities for the most part. Although, my high school was small so we didn't those tv problems. Hard for the jock to make fun of the band geek when you're both of those people. Or where to sit at lunch when you've known just about everyone since you were 4. College widely varies. A public state school in the mid west is going to be different than a small private New England college. However, it's not impossible and I don't think it's really that hard. You don't have to make it as broad as possible.
  21. You've got to go to a real Mexican restaurant to get it right. Fantastic.
  22. Building on that, he has a clear affection for Maria and stood up for her over Elsa. Maria has seen Magda for real.
  23. Yes, that's where I was going with it.
  24. Semantics for marketing. What's important is TPTBs will be able to write the show out. There won't be any sudden cancellation or they won't be worried about whether they will be cancelled.
