  1. Well, I'm finally caught up on this show. This was a creepy episode for sure. The dirty children were very reminiscent of Children of the Corn. The ending doesn't look good for Kiersten. So the MoC seems to have electricity (at least enough to still operate security cameras) so is at least a small section of the world after the epidemic seeing advancement? I sense a war between the airport dwellers who want to remember civilization and the cult who don't.
  2. The acting is excellent but the plot so far is falling flat for me. The whole 8-year-old going with a man she just met who jumped onstage to save her father-figure? from a heart attack despite having no medical background and being okay with following him to his brother’s penthouse and pretending to be his niece instead of calling the police to find her parents, thing is just not believable. Neither is Jeevan immediately realizing something's really wrong from a single phone call from his sister. Were they really able to survive weeks/months holed up in that apartment in the middle of winter? How did they not freeze to death? The whole viral outbreak is also seems to suffer from the same thing that a lot of shows/movies that deal with similar epidemics suffer from, people coughing then suddenly dropping dead and the world coming to a grinding halt all at once, planes dropping from the sky. Call me cynical but it's eyeroll inducing. Anyway, it looks like the first episode is just setting the tone and most of it focuses on the after with adult Kirsten, so I'm going to keep watching it for that. I haven't read the book but the premise seems interesting.
  3. I rewatched a few episodes recently and I'd forgotten how much of a whiny crybaby Kendall could be. I feel a bit bad for saying it but she had more meltdowns than any other kid on the show and basically threw a temper tantrum over not getting to dance with who she wanted (Maddie, of course). Abby was rarely as harsh on her as she was poor Chloe but she took any type of correction too personally. Jill was also the most obnoxious mom on the show by far, always going on about "my little Kendall" this or that, no wonder Kendall was always so riled up. I would be surprised if she didn't give her daughter a complex.
  4. This isn't really directly related to I am Jazz, but looks like TLC is getting ready to exploit a new "circus freak" - a young woman who stopped growing at age 8 and is stuck in a tiny childlike body trying to get more independence from her family.
  5. Thad was literally a prop/plot device. I've never seen a more meaningless, one dimensional character. Checked all the boxes though - deaf, gay, black fiance. Look, the Stones are plenty tolerant! 🙄 The dinner scene was atrocious, probably the worst scene in any movie I've seen. Second was the lame ring drama with Claire Danes and everyone's general assholery. I cannot even hate watch it anymore around this time of year when it comes on, I just cringe.
  6. Jon might be the "least bad" of the two who didn't lock one of his kids up for years in a facility but it seems like going on Oz is putting a real strain on his relationships both with Colleen and his kids and alienating him from them even more. Several years ago when Mady was 13 or 14 she told People that if her dad wanted a relationship with her he needed to talk to her himself rather than go on TV. I don't think he's very good at communication on a personal level when it's not an interview or podcast. It's unfortunate and doesn't seem like he's going to have a relationship with the twins. On another note I'm actually not surprised Collin's joined the military. He's at an age where making choices for himself is really important (lord knows most of his childhood he hasn't been able to) and he probably sees it as a way to become his own man. A lot of JROTC kids end up enlisting, it really isn't uncommon. He seems like he craves the structure and discipline and responsibilities of it. Anyway, I wish him the best.
  7. Cobra Kai is New Years I believe. Netflix has a tendency to space out popular shows so their premieres don't coincide. I was hoping for February-March though. Trailer looks interesting. It looks like most of it will take place California/west rather than Hawkins? I'm hoping for more El character development/coming of age/existentialism over the mind flayer arc that has consumed the show for the past 3 seasons.
  8. I don't think I'll be watching this next season either, between seeing Jazz continue to deteriorate, the 15 year old (mentally) Sander's incredibly fake storyline to continue to beef up his reality tv fame for social media and Jeanette's annoying voice I doubt I'll have much room left for disgust.
  9. She got huge 😱 I'm out of the loop, haven't watched it in forever. She's always seemed to have issues with food, but can someone clue me in on why she gained so much weight? I guess her family is enabling it (as they always have). It's hard to see.
  10. Even if the show ends it won't really end, especially not with Adumb's It's a Buzz World youtube channel and shop probably given them plenty of income aside from whatever TLC's given them. They'll do quite well until the day people just stop caring and the girls are no longer that little and cute.
  11. I like sci-fi and alien invasions but this series is so painfully slow! I find myself caring less and less about the characters. So far the only even mildly interesting one is the schoolboy on the crashed bus.
  12. Obviously we don't know the whole story and they are very different people, but I wonder if there's a slight possibility that the reason they drifted apart as well is because Ethan is actually a lot more controlling than Olivia lets on. Considering the kind of environment he was raised in, even years after moving out it's often hard for people to let go of that and remove a part of that from their personality. She definitely seems to feel boxed in. There is more to this than they are telling us.
  13. He really is obsessed with the 'gram, isn't he?🙄
  14. Was it really necessary for a whole spa day before the first day of school? ffs they're spoiled
  15. This felt like a very one and done series. If season 2 mainly centers around Rachel and Shane I don't think I'll have it in me to watch to be honest.
  16. It's all about playing clowns for the money. These people would have faded into obscurity like a bad restaurant were it not for all the years they've been on TV and that they've even been on that long is a wonder in and of itself.
  17. I did really enjoy the character development in this. All the girls ended up being relatable at one point or another and I loved the dive into their backstories and lives. I couldn't stand Leah for much of the series but she finally started to grow on me towards the end. Maybe it had something to do with her being the first one to start to figure things out. Shelby and Toni's little romance was sweet. Dot was super cool and I was rooting for her early on, Fatin was hilarious, and Martha ended up being one tough chick taking out a goat like that. I had a feeling something was up with Nora. I'm not sure if it was her weird, slow, stilted speech patterns and how calm she was compared to the others after supposedly crash-landing on an isolated island but it was hard to tell if that was just her personality and she wasn't very expressive or there was something deeper to it. Did Nora actually die or is she just in a better room with a view somewhere, helping to assist with Gretchen’s research now? The experiment stuff did fall a bit flat. I mean come on, who in their right mind would willingly sign up for putting themselves through hell with other innocent girls (including dragging your own sister into it as well) regardless of how much they despise "the patriarchy" and think they're revolutionizing something, let alone by the mother of the young man who killed your almost-boyfriend? Nora apparently. Rachel getting her hand eaten by the shark was almost too convenient. I wonder if it was really bad luck or Gretchen decided to go full hunger games on the island and engineer up a shark so they would be distracted and Leah wouldn’t reveal anything to the other girls in that moment. Hey, it could happen. Gretchen is a dangerous sociopath, after all who seems willing to do just about anything to save her deluded experiment. Speaking of, was it ever reveled how Linh/Jeanette died? It looked like she slipped and had an internal injury and concussion from it but it seemed really random to me and was never fully explained. The way Gretchen used that young woman was just so icky. I have a feeling next season is going to involve Leah figuring out Gretchen’s schtick, breaking out the other girls, and them travelling to the boy’s island to warn them and expose the Dawn of Eve/Adam.
  18. It was better than a lot of sci-fi space movies, I'll give it that. I really like suspenseful survival movies. But the premise was so ridiculous and there were too many plot holes to fully enjoy it. Anna Kendrick was also not believable as a doctor at all. . It would have been a better twist if he was actually a stowaway, rather than the unbelievable premise of him being trapped in a hatch in the ceiling, assuming to have been knocked out during takeoff.
  19. I too was invested and sucked into this show in the beginning and I’m annoyed we still know so little and so much has been dragged out! At least it’s one of those shows where there’s not a lot to have to remember, plot-wise for when the next season comes out. Though, I feel it wouldn’t make a huge difference if it was revealed or not because it appears we're also not meant to like or sympathize with Allie much, seeing as how quick he is to use people and endanger them like Chuy. The wife being the one they’re really after would be an interesting twist, but I have feeling that’s not the case. Spoilers for those who haven’t seen the movie – .
  20. Well, this show is all over the place now. 6 episodes in and they still haven't said much of anything about what they did and why Allie is wanted. I don't mind a little suspense and mystery but come on! Westworld and so many other shows, makes it feel cheap and they know they're just stringing you along into one episode after the next adding a little intrigue to keep you watching. I know covid likely cut production early, but I do wish this had twice as many episodes. Then I wouldn't feel as rushed to get to the bottom of things. Hopefully all is revealed in the finale next week and we get a semi-satisfying ending where the family gets to Casa Roja. The kids are also starting to grate on me (the girl in particular in this episode, she obviously doesn't want to be there now and Allie apparently didn't teach her to not trust government agents enough, by the end of the episode I was hoping she'd just be left behind). I do wonder if Allie would have actually been willing to sacrifice his wife, if it meant safe passage.
  21. The 'tups turned 17 a few weeks ago. https://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/jon-and-kate-gosselins-lay-low-approach-to-kids-b-day-snub/ Khate's days of exploiting her kids to support her D List celebrity lifestyle and dictating to the 4 under her roof are coming to a close, finally. The media frenzy around this awful family seems to have finally died off and it's unlikely we'll see any of them on TV or an interview again. Glad Khate's finally out of that huge house now that there's no reason for them to be there since the twins are in college and the 4 under her roof are going to be adults in the next year and will likely move out as well. It does seem suspicious they would move all the way to NC. Maybe properties are much cheaper there than PA? I seriously hope forcing her to downsize will make the witch re-think her priorities.
  22. I didn't fully understand who the guy on the phone was and what connection he had with the family and who the group that kidnapped them were and if there is some connection to the cartel (which I'm sure there is, along with some plan to bargain them to the US government). I enjoy the series but every episode has definitely gotten a little wackier. It's so different from the film, other than the name 'Mosquito Coast' they could be totally different, unrelated things.
  23. I am always catching clips of this show and can't believe how fake and overacted it is. It is obviously so fake I'll admit that I don't understand the appeal. The whole airport scene, Rosanna's "date", etc. I do feel bad for Rosanna some, she seems to operate at a 13 or 14 year old level and I'm not sure she was ready for the show or knew what she was getting herself into.
  24. I don’t think much was revealed, beyond a brief allusion to Allie's having worked for the NSA. My guess is he leaked something Snowden style? In which case, probably should have thought about moving out of the US far earlier. This was a very eerie episode. I like how they always barely escape unscathed even though admittedly that's a bit of a trope. I think it's only going to get harder for the family now, though and the son having that gun and no one else knowing is setting the stage for something it seems. Can't wait for next week's.
  25. Yeah, that's a good point. I did find the episode a little slow but it makes sense seeing as they were trudging through the desert and after 2 previous action-packed episodes it only made sense to slow down a little. This show definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout though even in a slower episode. Poor Chuy! I really hope he's okay in the next episode. He's the most sympathetic character for me so far. I'm so curious as to what Allie did that they've had to change their identities and are being hunted down by the feds and he's dragging his whole family along for the ride. Reminds me a little of the movie Running on Empty where you feel sympathy for the kids whose parents are fugitives but they just want a normal childhood.
