Loved it! Not a big fan of the romance either but luckily there wasn't too much of it the film so it wasn't a big issue for me. Both are fun but this definitely felt more Star Warsy, lacked the cheesiness of the original.

Someone on reddit who pays way more attention to this show than I do mentioned that the day of their date at the rink was Will's birthday. That would explain why he was so sullen that day, he was waiting for Mike to mention it and he never did.

S04.E07: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab
overtherainbow replied to paulvdb's topic in Stranger Things
That would be quite a twist if he actually ends up being El's biological father, but it would make sense seeing as they both about match each other in terms of power. Sort of like a Darth Vader moment. Have they even alluded to who her real dad might be on the show? Like if One was that powerful it would make sense that Brenner would want him to reproduce. Maybe Terry Ives was an easy target -
S04.E07: Chapter Seven: The Massacre at Hawkins Lab

Hopefully the final two episodes will tie the Russia storyline in better. I did like that Hopper got more character development and wasn't such a joke this season but I agree that it feels like filler. Murray is entertaining enough though. So Vecna/One didn't create the upside down, but was just banished to it by El and created the creatures in it. That was quite an origin story. I knew there was something up with Victor's son when he said he'd only slipped into a coma, rather than killed. That jock kid is super annoying. I can't help but want him to get picked off in the finale. This season is SO much better than the last. -
S04.E01: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club

I mean, this is the first time El's been in school. She's probably still adjusting. I'll admit I'm not a fan of how they portrayed the bullying though. It's a common trope in so many films/shows that the bullied victim is this obviously meek, guileless weak person. And while there's some truth to it that bullies pick on people who are obviously weak and different, it doesn't make you want to root for them. Like when she was presenting her project and they were making fun of her, she was smiling along to Angela's remarks. -
S04.E05: Chapter Five: The Nina Project

Suspicions confirmed, I had a feeling from the trailer alone Dr Owens was working with Brenner. Ugh, not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, El needs to get her powers back. On the other, is being forced to relive her traumatic childhood as a lab rat with the creepy scientist who abused her really the way to do that? -
They do seem to be building up to something with Will. Others have implied that he's in the closet and secretly in love with Mike but I'm not sure that's the case. There's this awkward tension between him and Mike that's undeniable though. And Jonathon is just...there.

S04.E01: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club

They are really going full-on Nightmare on Elm Street this season with the gruesomeness. Weren't kidding about upping the horror. Dead children lying in puddles of their own blood, bones cracking, eyes popping out of skulls. And I thought the body horror was a bit much last season. I miss the mystery/eerie element! I like that Max is getting more character development this season though. A guidance counselor who actually seems to care about kids, that's a first. It's funny, I liked Mike in previous seasons but he's becoming a bit meh. His whininess gets annoying. -
This season has a little too much going on. It's bordering on jumping the shark. Though I really hope Zelda and Jasper get to swim off together into the sunset.
-
Yep. While Jon fully participated in the exploitation of his kids, and continued to do so by accepting whoever would have him on their show after the divorce, Khate was the one who ultimately left her son in a facility for YEARS, where he was heavily medicated, abused, and got no visits from his family. Meanwhile Khate continued to keep those TLC cameras rolling as long as she had the other kids in the house. Honestly, it's a wonder Colin seems to have turned out so normal after the tremendous trauma he went through. I hope more will come out about how truly vile she is now that the sextuplets are adults and can tell their own side of the story.

Hazel had three cavities, I'm not surprised what with all the junk dumb and dumber feed them. Hate parents who don't take care of their kids teeth. -
So glad they're not making us wait a full year when it's already been shot for months. Guess that's another 4 months I'm keeping netflix
-
Yes! The acting is superb. I also love how timeless it is with barely any cell phone usage with plagues so many teen and adult shows
-
Well that was interesting. This season definitely focused a lot more on the time travel aspect, less on the characters and their own personal journeys. I liked the addition of the half-brother

7th birthday recap - big donuts with chocolate milk for breakfast, ice cream, a cookie cake and of course, a giant cake for each girl at the party with all their friends 🥴 And apparently, they're still using sippy cups at age 7 -

Is it me or did Danielle gain weight? -
I finished S1 and just started S2 and while the show can definitely get ridiculous and it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief, it's a fun, bingeworthy watch. The actors all could easily pass for Abercrombie models and Ward and Rafe are the perfect slimy villains.
-
Well, it's a relief that S4 doesn't look like it has too much Erica in it

I'm not surprised she ran running back to Lumon the second they needed her. She's way to brainwashed and Lumon seems to be all she's ever really known. I found it chilling the way Eagan talked about Helly, "what she did to you" when addressing who he thought was Helena. Clearly Helena is just as indoctrinated as Cobel and all the others, if not more so, literally being Kier's daughter. I predict, it's going to get very ugly for Dylan, and Irving once they find him.
-
I'm so annoyed it ended on such a cliffhanger and we'll probably have to wait a year for S2 but I'm glad they're continuing it.
-
Okay, so what was with the goat head and the creepy dancing during Dylan's "waffle party" in that dark perpetuity wing? That was some seriously satanic Eyes Wide Shut shite. This show is...something.

Petey said there are workers who aren't allowed to leave. Maybe she's one of those, despite being a "part time innie" and that's why she's so robotic. They basically put her to sleep or something until they need her. I don't think they want to risk the chance of his outie seeing her and realizing what happened. That or Gemma is in on it too...which, really anything at this point is a possibility.
-
So the 'refiners' are about to stage a full on mutiny? Even Irving isn't buying it any longer. This is really heating up now. Ms. Casey I really wasn't expecting at all. How were they able to convince Mark his wife died though? Fake body? I wouldn't put it past Lumen. 2 episodes left and we still know nothing about what they actually do.

Have they even confirmed a second season yet? -
I have a feeling whoever (or whatever) "the board" is will be a big reveal
