Well you have to remember Barbara thinks she is still somewhat relevant at ABC and in the world at large. I don't agree w/ this....Rosie gave up after being "cock-blocked" by Whoopi at every turn...let's see how Joy handles things when Whoopi decides to focus everything on Joy and her opinions. I think Rosie O did the wise thing by leaving b/c at some point you have to realize no matter how much you decide to keep quiet or kowtow it's not worth it. They always say leave your work-stress at work, but we all know at the end of the day, it's easier said than done. I loved that Paula, right out of the gate, stood up to Whoopi yesterday. I don't know this Paula woman from a hole in the wall but she gets my respect for that. It's so easy to be starstruck these days, but then again Whoopi Goldberg hasn't been relevant since what....the early 90's?

I think their disdain started last year when Whoopi decided she was going to counter anything that came out of Rosie O's mouth to establish her dominance on the panel.

I'm guessing if Rosie appears, it will be on Fridays or on days that Whoopi calls out "sick" or is filming some movie or television program. Stay classy Whoopi.

I read a story years ago, well over 10+ years ago / pre-cell phones w/ cameras era, about someone taking a photo of Kirk Cameron at a gay bar. I guess Cameron was livid and demanded the guy give him his camera and when the person wouldn't Cameron harassed him for awhile then Cameron eventually high-tailed it out of there.

I was thinking the same thing about CCB. I wonder if during their pre-show discussion of topics it became heated backstage, i'm guessing b/t Joy, Raven, and CCB about this topic and they decided that it would be better to have CCB come out after that discussion. I know they like to make headlines, but this topic is such a fresh wound for everyone involved that it could have turned bad really quickly on air. I mean if they just had CCB there to say i'm a part of the show but won't be around that much b/c i'm back in Hollywood filming my show, couldn't they have done a pre-taped segment or have her live from Calif to do this? I just think it's fishy that she is one of the draws to the show this year based on her views and yet they don't have her out there at the start of the show for the season premier?!

I read that radar article, and i'm sorry if they don't like Whoopi, ABC would just buy out her contract and give her the boot, just like Raven and anyone else. ABC isn't that stingy that it's going to let a contract play itself out and let ratings continue to flounder just for the money.

I'm watching this mess, and I told myself I wouldn't but i'm bored at home today. What was it....5 min before Whoopi decided she should introduce/welcome Paula Farris?! That was just rude. Then Farris talked about her family and started to get weepy and Joy called her out for it. Candace Cameron-Creme Brûlée didn't even show up for the first episode of the new season? That was odd... The biggest slam was Whoopi talking about nobody ever sticks around on this show anymore by equating it to ABC just giving them cheap mugs, and not the fancy ones w/the faces from seasons past. Joy's humor is so dated and schticky....I do think she is smart, but her comedy is so cringeworthy. This season's panel isn't going to work out from the fact that panel all seems to despise one another in some way. Joy seemingly dislikes Michelle Collins ( over calling the KY clerk ugly ), Raven and CCB have strong opinions of each other, and it seemed like Farris/Whoopi/Joy were arguing w/ each other as to who knows more than the other. I will say I was impressed w/ Farris making sure she got what she wanted to say out, instead of just backing down when she gets interrupted during her thought. Why is Michelle Collins there since they brought Joy back, there just seems to be no reason for Collins to continue on...but of course she sold her baby and uprooted her life for this show. The fact that two of these panelists uprooted their lives and sold their home for this gig is stupid considering how they might not make it to the end of the season. I'm out and I didn't even make it 15 min into this show.

I read that the Iowa City target on Insight was in reference to Jack Monroe / Nomad, as he is someone the directors were looking at using some point in the future in Captain America films. I guess Nomad was originally from Iowa. The directors said though they wanted to use him as the villain in CA3, but as we all know that didn't happen. I doubt Marvel would sign off on that as it would just be a rehash of Bucky/Winter Soldier, or at least I would think it would be a rehash since he was Cap's sidekick for a time as well.

I actually chuckled when she first said "was-band." I think she has used the term before on the show. She actually said ( i'm paraphrasing here ) "they would say they were the lucky ones who got away." So she meant it in a self-deprecating way. I thought they would let the home-made ice cream joke play out, b/c as we all know yeah it's easy to crank at first but later on it gets major hard to crank to thing, but nope they made it seem as if it was super easy to handcrank crank. The deviled eggs looked good, but I love those no matter what. Everything else looked like regular stuff she makes, although I never heard of brisket sandwiches for a picnic. She made it seem like if she wouldn't have made/brought brisket David wouldn't have participated in the picnic. I wonder if David isn't that comfortable being on camera or being around her family all the time...which to be honest she has a damn large family. I forgot about that, but thanks for reminding me anneofcleves, she seriously paired the barbecue sauce from the brisket w/ mayonnaise?! Just ugh....
-
I noticed that too...the only thing I could think was that it was some sort of centerpiece (perhaps you put candles and foliage on) for a large dining room table that she repurposed into a giant ice cream sundae trough. *** I did a search for ice cream sundae trough and on pinterest they show repurposed guttering b/c you know...why not?! ***

No anneofcleves, unfortunately it was another birthday-themed episode, this time for the youngest, Todd. We did get a commercial for her line though during the episode, and she says it's only available online...which is good b/c we wouldn't want to have any of that mad-dashing/selling out and then flipping at extravagant pricing like happens at Target each year for their exclusive designers. Do any of these "chefs" actually use their line of cookware on their programs? The only one I can think of that has is Rachel Ray. I understand how it was supposed to be fun that everyone knew of the surprise party except for the birthday boy, but damned if I wasn't hoping that Todd was eventually going to become unhinged and start throwing a hissy fit that it's his birthday and he wants a party. That is a must see tv moment that I would want to see! The food actually looked good. I just figured out how to make smashed burgers myself a few months back, and now that's the only way I will make burgers at home. I would love to do the onion thing, but that's way too much work for what I want to do. That brownie/sundae thing was a little over the top, but I guess you do that for family on their birthday. I will admit that the pre-scoops of ice cream ready to go was pretty smart. Ugh Ree....high fiving everyone of those kids was just uncomfortable to watch. She really has no clue how dorky she is does she? She overcompensates way too much. I don't think I ever remember my friends all hugging me on my birthday like some of those boys were hugging on Todd.

I don't really recall any major incidents b/t Rosie O and Joy, but of course at the time there was a bigger idiot...or two, in the room both had to contend w/.
-
I see it as this...she is 18 now and it is what it is. Whatever happens from here on out is on Chelsea and nobody else. Rosie did what she could, but at this point it just has to play itself out, hopefully w/o tragic consequences.

I watched the Hitch-hiker as well and it wasn't what I thought it would be. I guess I built it up more in my head based on other's reviews and comments. It wasn't bad but it just wasn't that terrifying to me, although he was a psychopath. That being said I ended up purchasing it about a month ago on blu-ray b/c I didn't think TCM would ever show this film, and here we are. I ended up recording it on my dvr before getting the chance to watch the blu-ray. This happens all the time, I want to watch a certain film and can't wait for TCM to show it and as soon as I purchase it ( if it's available ) TCM ends up showing it like a month later. I've noticed as well that any classic film that is released on blu-ray that TCM ends up showing said film within a month after it's released. Is it coincidence or just TCM showing off the new hd-master of the film for viewers?

Well like that article says, and Rosie O said as well last season....she would come back and make sporadic appearances so I could see this hopefully. If anything I really would like her to come on at least once and just confront Whoopi at least once for all the hypocrisy just like she did to Bitsy on he first go round.

I found this article about the show. It's quite interesting and gives some background information about all the steps involved with each "catfishing" case. It's dated from May 2014, but it looks like they do provide therapy with each case.

Oh I don't mean she went down on him or more than that, for some reason every time I have thought there was something b/t the two of them it was kind of a Geddie being into feet or other types of kink and that's what she did, like letting him massage her feet or stuff like that. He always seemed like he was a strange pig who would be into strange stuff. Geddie reminds me of that foot fetish guy from that episode of SatC, the one where the guy got off just helping Charlotte try on different shoes and touching her feet.

I don't know how to feel about this Civil War news to be honest....part of me is glad b/c I don't feel they have set up the MCU enough to where they could do the Civil War storyline justice, but the other part thinks they are picking and choosing from that storyline somewhat to where they couldn't do an actual Civil War storyline later on. I think to do Civil War properly we need a ton of superheroes, which we will get eventually around the end of Phase 4 or 5. I think CA3 really should have been more about Steve, Natasha, Falcon, and perhaps Sharon Carter going after Bucky. I think a great setup would have been they get Bucky back after dealing with Zemo and Crossbones, throw in Black Panther I guess too. He regains most of his memories about everything and that's when it comes out that he is responsible for the death of Tony's parents leading to Tony looking for them all and it ends on a cliffhanger as he is about to confront them all This sets us up for the next film Avengers 3 and the tension of Tony and Cap building but having to work together b/c of Thanos.

Well I meant by "popular" in that she is more known for her views and inability to censor what comes out of her mouth, plus her stint on the View going up against Rosie. What is Tim most known for, other than the younger less-successful brother of Matt and being a bench warmer and sometimes analyst. I couldn't point Tim Hasselbeck out of a lineup.
-
Well there are statistics that show that husbands who earn less than their wives ( in her case she is even the more popular of the duo ) act out by cheating, drinking, or become abusive. I don't wish anything like him being abusive or such, but I wouldn't mind for it to come out he had been cheating on her or such....of course I think she was doing sexual favors to Geddie for years while on the View. I can't wait to see what this idiot and her co-horts spew tomorrow in regards to Kim Davis being sent jail due to her religious convictions in Kentucky.
-
I agree Medicine Crow, I wouldn't be surprised if the Hasselbeck marriage is much like Candace Cameron-Bure's marriage where she is "submissive" to her husband.

I've read a few articles about the end of the Marvel creative committee, but other than there was a group of different people that gave notes on each phase from script to filming what is this going to mean from here on out? My first thought is these are the some of the people that make sure the MCU is cohesive from film to film. So do we know what this means w/ the committee essentially gone. As for Ike being taken off this films i'm guessing this means that some of the cast is going to get some major pay raises for Avenger 3.1 & 3.2 .
-
Wouldn't it be great if Bitsy's comeuppance was Tim's name being on the Ashley Madison hack list.
-
I agree DiabLOL, I hadn't noticed them saying that before about the difference in the physical attractiveness b/t the two. I just have no patience for these types of catfishee. As a gay man I know where I stand in the 10-scale level of attractiveness; you know what is acceptable in your range to go after and who might have an interest you. This girl should have known that the guy was way out of her league. Why would that hottie want a woman who has three kids w/ multiple fathers? I felt bad she was that hurt, but she should have known she was being played.

I think it was money and the fact that Iron Many put RDJ back into the Hollywood's good graces as well as the mega-celebrity stratosphere, but probably it was money more than anything else. Money has ruined many a good friendship.
