  1. I finally figured it out, this show reminds me of the FX series Damages that starred Glenn Close and Rose Byrne. The main characters both had a sick mother/daughter relationship like this show has with Quinn and Rachel. The scene with Rachel breaking down in the confessional to Adam was awesome, I didn't see the twist coming. That was a tour de force acting moment for Shiri in that scene
  2. Oh i'm sure all of them had left of their own free will and had the same experience as our Jerry and just resigned to go back. I loved that nurse at the beginning when they dropped him off. I wondered what trouble Jerry was getting into, but come to find out this was all to keep Jerry out of trouble. I loved Rick pointing out that Morty interfering w/ the original assassination of Fart caused other innocents to die in the wake. I came into this show only after I read that everyone should check it out after the cameo for the Simpsons couch gag and I am in love now. This show is equaling my love of the Venture Bros. I would love for Adult Swim to pair them up in an hour block.
  3. I wonder if Giada was away during the first challenge "coaching" Dom.
  4. Really Giada?! You faked out Arnold like that?! That was just stupid to me. So does anyone else have a feeling that they send Dom packing last week b/c they knew this challenge was coming up and he would be an utter train-wreck doing a "live" segment for five minutes? I really think they knew that sending him packing last week so he could work his way up the ranks in Star Salvation is the master plan here. So i'm guessing this new weekly live show they put on is basically the FN's way of saying screw you to Rachel Ray's talk show. I enjoyed having Rachel cook w/ the contestants...she seemed to really put them at ease. When Eddie was grilling those burgers, how did he not burn his hand when he checked them on the grill? The flames came up and enveloped his hand yet he didn't pull it back at all?! I can't believe w/ Jeff Mauro the ex-Sandwich King they didn't have Alex go bananas over meeting him or have Alex bring up in a talking head about this being who he wants to be basically. There were not mentions or parallels at all. Alex you f-ing chose ramen for a summer food?! Idiot! I can't figure out why he started out in the sandwich corner when he really wants to do Asian food...own what you want to do dude. I did find it odd that the judges, Giada mostly, said that Alex made no connection to his choice for fixing ramen when he actually did. He said it on camera. There is video-taped proof. Jay's five minute segment had me scared when he basically got the tarts done and tasted w/ 2 minutes to spare...then he brought out the drinks. He knew all along what he was doing and planned it out accordingly like a producer. It was strange like mentioned upthread as to why they were served in a ramekin. I do think at this point that Eddie will be the winner here, but if they don't give Jay a show as well I would really be surprised.
  5. Rex Harrison's affair with Carole Landis.

    X-Men Franchise

Coming Soon... Gambit (2017) - staring Channing Tatum - a former stripper who uses his mutant charm ability finds himself in over his head during a high stakes gamble/heist where he finds he needs more than his mutant charm to survive.
  7. I had the same reaction when I first saw the film too chitowngirl. It's such a great film. I didn't watch it last night, but recorded it for the Essentials wraparound conversations b/t Robert and Sally. I didn't know about the scandal about Harrison and how he was basically exiled back then and it was My Fair Lady that led to him being welcomed back to Hollywood..

    X-Men Franchise

So, nobody comes a-calling for Tatum to join a superhero franchise so he decides to just use his production company to take on one basically and throw him into the staring role. I understand that Tatum thought the world was his oyster when the first Magic Mike came out, but since the second one pretty much crashed and burned...perhaps he needs to step back and rethink this. Produce the movie, hell direct it for all I care, but cast someone who fits the description of the character and is actually...charming.
  9. So in this episode the rest of the family were told to stay at the main house while Ree cooked mediocre chinese food with Paige and her friend for a sleepover. Thank you! When she just added the egg mixture to the veggies, I was like wtf?! The funny thing is I watched Martha Stewart make fried rice not long ago on her PBS cooking show, and all I could think of is Martha would bitch slap Ree for doing that. I'm actually shocked that they didn't just eat at Panda Express while in Tulsa. The kale looked good, that is the only thing I would have ate from the dinner. Those pancakes looked nasty, just ugh... I loved that the main activities for Paige and her friend were to drive around the pasture and take selfies. Booorrrriiiinnnnggg.

    X-Men Franchise

Or the perfect Gambit is Josh Holloway now.
  11. I'm still waiting for it to come out that they are paying the "catfisher" to come on camera to meet the ones they have wronged. I just can't see any other reason for them to want to come on camera and show their face, other than that batshit crazy girl from a few episodes past who totally would have done it just for the fame aspect. I've said this in the Food Network Star thread, but the Lifetime show UnREAL has really made me second guess every reality show as to how scripted every little tiny detail is.
  12. I thought Andy was a little vaudeville comic, just throwing jokes out there to see what sticks, wasn't a big fan. I could care less about her voice. Did the judges know something we didn't about Andy's persona? Norm really seem to imply that they knew her voice was just part of a character she was doing.
  13. I kind of got the feeling that Nev and company took this case one based off of Sarah's predicament, didn't she do a #Nev or catfish or something. I'm wondering if they decided this was just like another story where the girl (Sarah) contacts them b/c some other psycho (Ashley) is using her pictures, but they wanted to go a different angle...from one of the guys that Ashley had fooled. They asked Sarah about some of the guys that had contacted her after finding out they had been fooled, and this is how we got Thad. I just can't figure out why Thad would continue on this journey after he found out he had been tricked, I mean what would be in it for him or his family. Hell, I would think his wife would say just drop it.
  14. I'm sure Jake and Nina had sex as well, from what we had seen/heard of Nina, i'm guessing she used her body/mouth to get what she wants.
  15. Yeah, imagine if Ashley started using Sarah's real name and address with the guy that she was "engaged" to. This guy could come to Sarah's house expecting to meet his fiancé and then when Sarah rebuffs him and tries to explain, he snaps and causes physical harm to her. There really needs to be some laws put out there to stop this stuff really quick. I wonder if Ashley even had a child or if that was part of her backstory for when she gets caught.
  16. Wow, my old hometown of OKC. This girl is not going to stop. I had a feeling that she will just keep using the same girls photos or she will just pick someone else and start again, if she doesn't already have multiple fake accounts. So how is this girl a stay-at-home mom, I mean she isn't married or anything...oh wait, she is in Oklahoma, I come from there, she can survive for life on welfare and everything else. This girl was good, she brought them in with her reasons and tears. What I can't figure out here is how does this show get these people to come on camera, like this girl for instance. What does she have to gain from it? Do they pay them to come on camera to tell their side of the story? I mean I could totally see this girl saying she will come on camera for $500. I also can't figure out the other side of the screen where these people start up these conversations with others halfway across the US or globe thinking that they might move for them or vice versa, it's just insane to me. I mean i'm on gay sites/apps chatting w/ guys, but if they are outside of a 100 mile range, if that, I know it's not going to go anywhere at all, b/c I don't have time to drive around to meet someone even if we chat daily.
  17. Throw me into the boat of Kiernan being one of the killers. I mean isn't that a trope where the main damsel in distress ends up sleeping with the killer? His story of "being out of town to deal w/ dead mom's insurance stuff" doesn't ring true. Did we skip over Emma and Kiernan having it out with both their parents about sleeping together? I guess in this day and age it doesn't matter. So Audrey and Noah officially told Emma offscreen that they "accidentally" uploaded her sex video. We are just supposed to believe that Emma was okay w/the karmic payback of this? Okay. So the reporter is involved here, but how? Could she be Emma's sister/half-sister that was given up for adoption? So was the Mayor eventually going to tell Brooke that her mom had escaped from rehab to keep the lie going? I just want to say, Kiernan's body was banging.
  18. I think it is b/c this was a trial run basically. ABC didn't know how this show would go over during the summer, and we have to think it was filmed, probably months ago and i'm sure some of the bigger name celebrities they might have reached out to just heard "Family Feud" and balked at the idea. That being said, I wouldn't be so sure if they didn't do this next summer or whenever that we don't see more higher profile celebrities, to casts from TV shows. I wouldn't mind there being nighttime versions of game shows once again if for no other reason than to get rid of some of this reality crap.
  19. I don't think this is spoiling anything, but the movie starts basically on the eve of the wedding of the Lucy and Desi's characters wedding and follows through I would say at least a week after the marriage. The characters are named Nicky and Tacy, which is as close to Ricky and Lucy as you can get. This movie was made during the heyday of I Love Lucy. It plays just like an episode of the show.
  20. Just got done watching the Long, Long Trailer. I love this film so much. The cinematography, the familiar character actors, it's just the perfect movie to me. It captures that picturesque perfect 50's era that I envision, even though I was born in the 80's. I know it's all Hollywood smoke and mirrors, but I just love this movie. I remember watching it one Sunday afternoon pre-TCM when I was younger and it stuck with me. It helps that I was a huge fan of I Love Lucy, and this seems like a lost episode that takes place after they get hitched. I remember when I first got a home computer that I sought out this film on the internet to buy since the VHS wasn't available anywhere to purchase close to me. This was in the mid/late 90's. I also re-watched For Me and My Gal that I recorded the other day. I know some will say it's stereotypical for a gay man to must love Judy Garland, but I do. For me, it's her voice that I just fall in love with every time I hear it. I wanted to hear more than just snippets of war-time songs in this film, like "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" and "Pack Up Your Troubles..." (even though I more associate that song w/ the Steward/Sullivan film The Shopworn Angel). I always forget that his was Gene Kelly's first film appearance ever, he is just flawless. It is like he had been in pictures for years. Does anyone know where Garland ranks as one of the greatest singers of all time? I would think she would be at least in the top 25 if not higher.
  21. Why couldn't they have just had Danny end up w/ Vicki. I know Gail Edwards is retired, but why couldn't they just recast the character. It seems the Olson twins might still be in play. http://www.ew.com/article/2015/07/28/full-house-olsen-twins I will watch this as I loved the show when I was younger, as of now it's pretty much unwatchable when it began Michelle Tanner and the Full House show. I do think this could have the stink of a train wreck, but like I said, i'll be watching.
  22. I think Peele played the other testicle monster in the end tag involving Einstein. Always stick around for the end tag...I learned that the hard way.
  23. Yes, it wasn't major gossip at the time, but when Scarlett left the show to treat her issue it wasn't a secret.
  24. I think the reason behind that is b/c Bob and Suzy have been sidelined this season so much. I do believe they have been watching the dailies and been getting updates on the progression with each contestant. If it had been 3:1 in favor of Dom, she probably would have rolled over. I do hope that they decide after this season that they need to be there every step of the way as Bobby and Giada don't have a handle on things, or at least throw in another FN personality they can trust. Oh for the days of Alton Brown being the third mentor. I remember when this show used to have a different FN personality on each week to mentor the group...I miss that version of the show.
  25. This movie really is a double-edged sword. If it makes a crap-ton of money, even if the movie sucks in general, then FOX keeps the rights. If it bombs, Marvel/Disney might get the rights back eventually but there will be major talk that the reason nobody turned out for the film is b/c they cast a black actor for Johnny Storm. It sucks, as I really doubt that would be the reason people stay away as only die-hard fans would really care, but it's the world we live in right now. My fear is the movie bombs, and then Singer decides to go ahead and do his X-Men/FF movie that he wants, therefore the rights are held up for even longer. I really think FOX would be willing to give the rights back over if Disney didn't basically buy Star Wars out from under them.
